Weekenders Thread

What a chill show. Definitely comfy-tier.

Wayne Brady singing the theme song is a definite bonus.

Just wanted to fuck the tomboy. That's it.

The perennial question: Lor of Tish?

Lor.

I like both for different reasons. Tino faces a hard choice.

I remember porn of it.

Lor and Tino broke the physical barrier more often than the other possible combinations Lor/Carver, Tino/Tish, Carver/Tish

The Weekenders need to be shilled HARD for the younger Anons who never got to see it. It is a truly great show.

Can't say I noticed that.

I spent a decade trying to figure out what this show was called after catching half an episode at my grandparent's house. Same with Filmore, another comfy show that needs to be shilled hard.

Wait, Wayne Brady sang the theme song?

Bump

What's your opinion?

Haven't watched this show since I was 13. Maybe I will rewatch it soon.

I still think Hey Arnold was the better slice of life show.

It looks like a proto-selfie. God I miss the pre-cellphone era.

I on the other hand belong to the absolute minority. I never watched HA, nor do I want to despite its reputation.

...

This show was the best. A super comfy SoL that I wish I caught more of. Might watch a few episodes just to get that old feel back.

How old were these kids again

12 - 13 IIRC.

wtf they act like 16-18 year olds

Not at all. I'd like to say you think that because today the degenerate remnants of humanity act like 9 year olds for their entire lives, but the truth is more prosaic. It's extremely difficult to write kids as kids.

I never knew any real life12-13 year olds that acted a mature as the weekenders.

>mature

Bullshit. They weren't mature at all and there's episodes dealing with both their immaturity and the old "don't rush to grow up" theme. Also I have no idea what "mature" means to you. It might merely mean "normal" from my perspective and the perspective of the writers. It's an older show. It predated the clusterfucks and imbecility of todays kids.

Naw they definitely behaved differently than real kids

I'll give you that because of the stated reason. But in my eyes and clearly in the eyes of the writers they're kids at the brink of puberty.

Alright, alright, no need to fag up a perfectly nice nostalgia thread with how "immature" you think everyone else is.

>short hair
>glasses

Never have I ever been so torn on who to choose

Arguably I'm no better. I'm a 30 year old Slavic man who loves cartoons. But there's degrees yadda yadda.

Point taken.

When I first saw screenshots of this show way back I for some reason assumed it was British. And speaking of screens I really have to build a comprehensive ep-by-ep library and dump it. Should do it after I finish working. Sadly there isn't that much fanart out there (or at all) barring #34 which isn't as extensive as one would expect.

See the problem with this show is this you can't really say anything about it other than it's good.

Yeah. It's one of those cases.

I disagree, I remember an episode where they all collectively didn't go to some girls birthday party and it show'd her crying her eyes out because no one showed up and it was some throwaway gag. That fucking episode fucked me up senpai

Actually they did go to the party. The choice was between going to Marie's party or going out with a popular girl they don't actually like and that was using them, but who offered them a chance at becoming a part of the popular kids club.

Really? Huh, I guess I never watched the full episode. Still because of that episode I would always show up to a party if someone invites me no matter what, even if I hate the person

I fucking live this show, it is a definite classic and I may need to rewatch the series again. Tino is one of the main reasons why my humour as an adult is so sarcastic.

>It's a crazy backwards world, where cats chase dogs and sitcoms are funny

Good.

When I was about 14 my group of friends (long gone now) was very close. However on one occassion and for to us inexplicable reason one of our friends didn't invite us to his birthday party. And this was in a small town. We were all neighbours. I showed up however, uninvited, and called him out on his bullshit. I took it very personal. He was forever an outcast after that.

Love*** goddammit. Although when I was younger I did spent a lot of my life watching it.

I always liked Tish's backless shoes. Though when the show was still on TV I think Lor was more attractive. However f I applied my current standards to my kid self it would almost definitely be Tish.

Dem feet, yes.

There are DVD rips?

What do YOU think?

The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma.

Yes.

This would probably be my favorite Disney cartoon, if Gargoyles didn't exist. This and Fillmore.

I got into it when it was already over and on Toon Disney and had no idea that it even existed until I tuned in one day. Great writing, great characters.

...

...

This is my favourite Disney cartoon.

The constant outfit changes were what stood out for me the most.

>tfw i thought all that popular stuff was true as a kid
>tfw i've never been popular so i actually can't confirm

Was anyone here popular in school? Diet soda without the aftertaste?

TURKEY BIRD
BGAWK BGAWK

...

is what true

>you will never suck on Tish's toes

Can I get some backstory behind her being held up by a malevolent clone elder?
And why she doesn't seem to give a shit?

Crowded house.
Annoying sister.
Friends coming over.

She was told she was too egoistic (or something along the lines of that) and she started behaving overly nice so her siblings were annoying by her. When her friends come over they angrily hand her over to them but since she is trying really hard to be nice she is ok with it.

Heh, thanks.

fix her

Did anyone else who grew up watching this get depressed that they never had friends that wanted to do as much stuff as the kids on this show? [spoilers] or friends at all[/spoiler]

>dat hair twist
DICK STATUS: MUH

I really need to mix them together. like, i REALLY need that. they fill in each others' gaps. they're the classic patty and marcie where how can you choose? each has something great

I always thought HA looked terrible too, but... give it a shot, i bet you'll be surprised
this
But you do realize the person you're talking to IS one of those modern little kids
the kind who post things like "whoa how did they ever get away with this in a KIDS thing!?!?!" because they didnt grow up in the 90s when kenner had toylines for alien, predator, robocop, terminator..

Tish

It was a real thing up to the early 90s or so, then it got phased out as the first stage of PC public schools really kicked in. Well maybe the third stage depending how you measure it.
You could be a pariah individually for being weird, yeah, but cliques didn't exist by the time this show was on. like most shows, it's behind a bit, because you write what you know, so it represents the writers' childhoods more than the modern day.
Y'know, it's why on Phineas and Ferb, the parents met in the 80s despite having already had previous marriages and kids, and two of those kids being 8.

kickass.unblocked.vip/the-weekenders-complete-series-dvdrip-tt9569903.html

for me it was more about the inability to get around as easily as these TV kids did. they could all just... go to a restaurant.. and somehow have money. I couldn't ride my bike that far and I sure as hell didn't have any free time after school. Not if I wanted to get the bare minimum amount of tv and videogames in. plus I got the very consistent message that it was unsafe.. and honestly I think they were right. these shows were representing a VERY bygone age. By the time they aired, you couldn't get served on your own if you were a kid, and going outside was certainly not a way to genuinely socialize with anyone not in a gang.

>cliques didn't exist by the time this show was on
now thats just not true, they still exist today

they really don't. and they certainly don't exist as warring factions. it's more like hobby groups

>my experiences are ubiquitous

Just because you've never encountered cliques in your life doesn't mean they don't exist.

They exist, whether you want them to or not.

face it dude, that shit's over.

In childhood, I would've said Lor because of my affinity for tomboys.

As an adult, I'll say Tish. She is perhaps impeccable, I love her personality, if I recall, she was very understanding and had humility. She didn't let her intellect prove superior to the othere and she like hanging out with Tino and the others and being an overall kid.

They exist but they're rare. Like alpacas.

I dont know man, me and my 4 siblings all experienced a pretty homogeneous social environment throughout middle and high school. The only real social borders where between grades.

Could just be a Canadian thing though

You're the one who needs to "face it"; you're the one in denial.

i think the idea is that over time tish will probably improve, whereas lor has nowhere to go

> Always changed their clothes from day to day
> But wardrobe wasn't UNLIMITED, used the same outifits and rotated through all the different ones normally
> Each character has their own style
> Each character had a favourite colour they generally gravitated towards (blue for Tino, pink/purple for Tish, etc)

The fucking realism and detail just in this clothing thing ALONE gives me such a strong appreciation for the creative team behind this show

though once again they were a bit ahead of their time. possibly not so much for rich californians
i didn't settle on a wardrobe style til adulthood, my parents just bought me whatever and that's what I had. Didn't need much new stuff very often. But once i HAD decided, it was a pretty solid decision. favorite color, favorite items. which for some reason the myriad dumbasses in that highschool gave me shit about from time to time. like.. why are you paying attention to what i'm wearing? do you not have a favorite color?

>But you do realize the person you're talking to IS one of those modern little kids
>the kind who post things like "whoa how did they ever get away with this in a KIDS thing!?!?!"
This. Only post millennials will say shit like this, like the course of humankind has always ben kids acting like pieces of incurable cancer. Back in the 90s, people just didn't act like shitheads, you ACTIVELY had to be a dick to cause shit, now it's just the norm to be a cunt just because "lel funny xDDDD".

Well there really isn't that much of a difference from generation to generation
the main difference is OUR generation, for the first time, had a little bit of perspective. we had just a LITTLE idea that the world was bigger than our local area, and we got on the internet and met people from all possible walks of life, got pretty shocked by some of the crazy shit we saw, and ended up pretty well-balanced.

generation after us? fucking raised on the internet. placed at birth into fucking e-cliques. social media bullshit everywhere. NO sense of perspective. they believe what they're told. They find offensive what the media TOLD them to find offensive. they get 'squicked out'

>/r/forwardsfromgrandpa
>/r/lewronggeneration

You are cringe incarnate.

...

not necessarily as warring factions but large social blocks totally exist. especially in higher income areas where those silly differences in hobbies and ability acts as a larger social barrier . Mostly cuz the kids have little else to worry about

delet this right this minute

How about the constant remodeling/renaming of the pizzeria (how did the owner afford to keep doing it)?

Wait is this another version of kickass torrents?

Yay more Simon

Tbh I found college was nore cliquish than high school or middle school ever was. Sure there were subgroups but the theatre kids weren't JUST theatre kids and the jocks weren't JUST jocks. The only group I can honestly say was cliquish was the black kids lmao

>completely SFW
okay... whatever.

what the fuck college did you go to that had theatre and jocks?
in any case, if what you said is true, then those weren't cliche TV-school cliques. that's the point. that 'popularity' thing WAS a thing for a while, especially in the go-go 80s, but it died a solid death in the mid-90s, replaced with an underlying current of conformism. Rather than an elite controlling the rest, EVERYONE was accepted except the tiny minority of free-thinkers.
and if you think about it, that makes more sense. Why would anyone tolerate a small elite at a school

>what the fuck college did you go to that had theatre
Is there a college somewhere in America that doesn't have a theatre?

lor was cute

i mean, acting school has it, other schools don't.. right? the majority of colleges aren't like on TV, big massive academies with 50 different fields crammed together. they're usually one with maybe a few satellite things. like i went to a radio college that also offered a TV broadcasting degree and had a culinary program on the side

weird. My piece of shit university had theatre, nursing, aerospace, etc. despite being primarily agriculture-focused.

the fuck

Most universities worth their salt are going to have a wide variety of topics that students can study, otherwise they wouldn't draw enough students to stay open.

well yeah but how many universities are there? we're talking about colleges

is there a difference

Same applies for colleges. Any college that wants to keep a large student base is going to have variety in its available courses.

no. the vast majority of colleges are focused on a single professional area
that is one of the differences, yeah. universities are biiig things, places of higher learning. a college is to a university as a trade school is to a college. maybe even a larger gap.

>no. the vast majority of colleges are focused on a single professional area

Cite source.

well unless you count community colleges
and by 'single area' i mean like, it can encompass several related fields.

So the opposite of what you actually said?

Got it

alright lemme lay it down for you
only universities have their own fucking sports teams.

Been to a college, can confirm this is true.
Universities have them, not standalone colleges. As a side point, American education for 18+ is segregated into a college or university, depending on money and knowledge level.
Other countries outside of US I heard has only a university. Diff user, btw.

but the school in Community had like 6

well, they refer to all college as 'university' but they also have a separate term that gets used less-often for more tradeschoolish things

That has absolutely nothing to do with the original dumbass point you made.

I think we can all agree that Tino/Lor/Tish is the true OT3 of Weekenders, and that we need more art of it(and maybe some writing as well, cause there's only one story with it, and that only happens towards the very end of it)

pretty sure the original point i made was "what the fuck college are you going to that has a drama department and a sports team"

Yes, and colleges have those.

All of them? No. But colleges do have them. You were wrong. You should accept it and move on with your life.

pretty sure if we made a smoothie outta what i said and what you said, mine would have the greater nutritional value, m8

I regret asking about college theatre departments in the first place.

You doomed the thread.

Whatever you say guy

There is a disturbing lack of discussion about Tino's mom in this thread.

she was pretty great aside from her terrible taste in food and hippie-ass solstice celebrations

Also the fact that she's a divorcee.

Not gonna lie that's pretty gross.

Our high school was the same but our only clique was the Weebs

>when the roofies finally take effect

On a vaguely related note, Lor has some weird fantasies.

me on the left.

>Hey guys, I brought pudding. Did anone bring any cups?
I will never forget that line and how I lost my sides even at that age. Aside from the theme song, consequently, that is the only thing I remember about this show.

Tmom is criminally underrated and underposted

Was this show any good? All I remeber about it was the pizza place they hung out at always changing gimmicks

Yes. It's really good.

>I missed some simon

you're black?

hey guys.. know what time it is?

Haven't seen this one

Saved

Time to call our mother and tell her we love her?

Was this the first Slice of Life anime of the west?

MUFFIN TIME!

No.

bump

...

Love the show, but I still contend that the Christmas special was the most politically correct bullshit ever. They had Lor celebrate Christmas because she's the best girl. Tish was Jewing it up with Hanukkah. Carver was celebrating Kwanzaa because he's black. Tino was celebrating... the winter solstice... because his mother is a pagan, I guess.

She actually made him avoid Christmas because she thought it would be too painful after the divorce, or something like that, but it's still kind of stupid.

You mean, lack there of.

>Recess seem to have more...I think.

youtube.com/watch?v=Ufy0NuIwr_U

>Hey look, it's Martin Van Buren
>DOWN WITH THE COTTON GIN! DOWN WITH THE COTTON GIN!

Yeah I disliked that special too. It was rather cringe inducing and as a whole was subpar. On the other hand I'm also kinda forced to admit that it came from a different time. Back then the liberal pipedream seemed like something around the corner, something attainable. But now we live in a time where we see those dreams are nightmares that are killing civilization.

Even within the show it made little sense to do an ep like that and I can see it was a mandated script. They were already friends and there was no need to emphasize their differences since we already know how different they are from each other.

...

...

Tish for exotic mouth pussy

I had a serious thing for Tish as a kid. She would've probably been too weird and intelligent for me irl but I don't care; she was cute.

yeah I could go for some threesome art

It felt kinda real, but just not a good part of reality. Some of it was clever, clearly the writers were trying to make the best of that editorial edict. In a way I'm amazed they were able to get away with a show set in california with almost no asians, and only one black kid who is shallow, stupid, and materialistic.
some of us knew all along.

Tino's Mom

Tino's mom

what if
loli tino's mom

I'm up for seeing this

Considering how we have loli Hilary

ugh don't remind me

You can find the posted/deleted pictures on Conoghi/Simon's dual patreon.

Yeah, the mom was kind of MILFy. Strangely though I didn't care for her in lipstick. The artstyle just didn't work for it.

Yeah, that episode was pretty full-retard. Aside from her mom making him avoid Christmas, which sucks even if I understand her motivations, the multi-diversity crap was pretty bullshit. It feels pretty half out of canon aside from the angle with Tino's backstory. First, Tish isn't Jewish, or if she is, then she's also the Queen of Mars for all the other evidence that exists. They just wanted to make her some other religion that didn't celebrate Christmas because diversity reasons. This is the only episode in which they claim she's Jewish.

And secondly, Kwanza... just... Kwanza... I mean there are made up religions, and then there are really made up hockey religions. Couldn't pick a less diversity focused one? Why no Buddhism or something, I dunno, any more substantive?

>Back then the liberal pipedream seemed like something around the corner,
You know I really want to disagree with you, but... yeah, things weren't so bad back then. I mean political correctness was still cancer pretty soon after it launched, but it had some positives back then and wasn't so virulent. Now though, ugh.

Sigh, to live a more optimistic age.

>and only one black kid who is shallow, stupid, and materialistic.

Don't forget he's a closet cross-dresser.

As much as I like Lor, I have to say Tish. I think Lor would be fun to date in high school and perhaps college, but I have trouble imaging her as a long term love. Tish on the other hand I could see at every stage including marriage. She's very nice waifu material.

Agreed

...

kwanzaa's not even a religion, it's not even atheist, it's literally anti-christian and nothing else. the guy that invented it was a fucking psycho.
tish being jewish makes a bit of sense though. they explicitly moved from the old country due to the government going all pogrommy. they just didn't say exactly what they were that made them enemies. you just sort of skedaddle. obviously it would have made more sense and been funnier if they had their OWN special tradition and their own fictional subgroup within that country

At the time, we thought tolerance was going to be a double-edged sword. More acceptance of bad things, but at least maybe more freedom of some of the needlessly-restricted too. Maybe lose a little of our fear, our stranger-danger bullshit, our 'women are all automatically victims' concepts
turns out no. we'll keep those, ramp them up even higher. push that age of consent as high as it'll go.

>push that age of consent as high as it'll go.
Well that went to a weird place.

>kwanzaa's not even a religion, it's not even atheist, it's literally anti-christian and nothing else.

Knew it wasn't a religion probably but thought it was invented to basically be against whites (and a very common thing associated with whites at the time was Christianity).

Still don't buy the whole Jewish thing. Just not enough evidence to support it. I was really hoping they'd make up something unusual for her family, which was a funny running gag throughout the show.

>They just wanted to make her some other religion that didn't celebrate Christmas because diversity reasons. This is the only episode in which they claim she's Jewish.

Yeah. It even ruins the running gag of the show of nobody knowing where her family is from. She is from some ex-SU country, but it was never stated which one and in the ep where she became famous the journalists were unable to locate the country on a map or pronounce its name.

Her dad is a university professor of robotics IIRC. If we really want to go all the way however - the guy who works at the music store and with whom Tish is friendly turned out to be an ex-spy. She blew his cover by accident. Thus we might conclude that her family was being tracked and that they had to emigrate for political reasons.

All speculation of course.

Taking requests.
Lor fags btfo

and you're contributing to it. and you don't even see the problem.

that and nudity, i REALLY thought we'd stop giving a shit about nipples and swears. now finally in the last couple years there is a very limited 'shit' budget on cable tv, but you still can't show nips. even when people are straight up fucking

>for me it was more about the inability to get around as easily as these TV kids did. they could all just... go to a restaurant..
That was always my problem with shows like this. How do these kids get to anywhere and never have someone with a parent that insists you need an adult or else someone will try to harvest your organs?

and have money
i mean i guess i got enough allowance to occasionally spend on food, but why would i? there's food at home. my dad's a goddamn gourmet chef. and we get to go out to eat frequently, anytime we're out as a family

Tino's mom, who has above average sized areolae, straddling a naked lor's face

Tish "studying" her body.

Loli version of Tino's mom

>Loli
Hahahahahahaha pedos btfo

>Kwanzaa
>show aired from 2000 to 2004
>Christmas episode aired December 2001

Well that explains it, it wasn't quite out of the 1990s and the obsession with Kwanzaa.

In Mexico Mayan Indians are converting to Islam now because Mexicans are Catholic and they hate them

Ha, you got bullied

>show takes place in california

How dated. Do any shows nowadays take place in that dry debt-heavy shithole?

well that's just basic rebellion against your invaders. bit late now though.

the vast majority of them, yes.
this very hard. you mean her own or lor's? i'm for either one.
i also want to see them showering and/or in towels afterwards.

Because she was voiced by Grey

Tish's own body. You know, for research purposes.

well that is an important thing to do. gotta use a handmirror.

Of course she'd have to feel around a bit too.

Has there been actual pagans in cartoons?

>milf
>loli
One or the other, my man

you mean modern fruity neopagans? and you mean cartoons as in kids stuff?
a few, not many

Son, it's time fulfill your new role as the man in the house.

Christ I hope you're joking. That's truly abominable. Nothing against reasonable Muslims but .... just no.

Tish as a grown twenty-something, looking pretty or even sexy. Bikini or in one of her nice (mini) skirts is fine. Bonus if she's quite busty and nearly popping out / bursting her shirt. There is criminally little grown Tish artwork, lewd or not.

How about Tino's mum just being the sexy luvy she is.

if it wasnt such a nervous fuckup like tino, that would be an extremely hot scenario

Sporty or apple bottom Cred Forums?

can't goddamn decide

I'd prefer late teen.

what the fuck, I'm a pedophile now.

grass on the field, dude. you don't like LITTLE girls.

There's Recess

To me weekenders feels more slice of life then Recess cartoon

...

how the shit did i never recognize danny cooksey's voice in that.
i guess because he's doing a different persona than most of the angry jerk characters he's done

...

...

Art Bumperino

Wow didn't realize she actually says that

Bueno

if i recall, the context was he was trying to hook her up with someone or ask for advice on what attractive women think or something

Hey, what's the episode where tino has the secret place they used to visit as kids. And they try to find it but can't, and he finds it at the end and it's glorious but doesn't tell the others? What # episode is it I mean?

Hello there GFD

Nevermind, it's the crevasse. Also the super kid episode is pretty good.

god this needs to get vectored badly

Tish is definitely an Emma Watson

...

As a child, Tish and her family being Jewish made perfect sense because Fiddler on the Roof.

It's where the studio employees live, makes sense for them to just ref their own neighborhoods

The hell does that mean?

Damn, I used to watch this show like 12-10 years ago..
I kinda remind being envious of these guys for their weekends but it's a cartoon with many good feels

I remember somebody told me that there was a moment in the show wherein Tino saw a vision of the future where him and Lor ended up together. If this is real, can somebody give me the episode this occurred in?

It never happened.

Does anyone have untouched ISO-rips of the DVDs?

I wish.

yeah. though a lot of people got fucked over in various eastern european countries. That one family that was found isolated up in siberia had fled there from the commies, and they were russian orthodox christians. they could have gone that route and had the hilarious fun weirdness that is russian orthodox christmas.

Damn nigga get out of here with that wrong generation shit.

you guys realize the point of that (undeniably true) statement was to praise the generation that we're in and (to a lesser extent) that this show represents, right? Like, by being in this thread, it is praising you.
It's weird to bash nostalgia in a thread about a 16 year old show

I'm sorry, can you please repeat that? I couldn't hear you with all the cocks in your mouth.

You might've misunderstood something or we're thinking about different events. There's a branch of orthodoxy called Old Believers which follow an older type of rites in their service which they got via Greece way, way back. Orthodoxy was later (was it 17th or18th century? I forgot) updated but the Old Believers refused to practice religion under the new rules, and thus they were kinda wiped out and/or scattered to the four winds. Some went into the vastness of Sibir. Like the Å¡kopci did, and loads of others. To add insult to injury the rites Old Believers practice are based on faulty translations and the updated version is more accurate. There's no difference in dogma, just outer rites.

Also, the vast majority of bolsheviks were Jews, and it was them who did most of the pogroms of non-communists, White Russians, priests and so on. The gulags are a jewish invention, and so was holodomor in Ukraine. Their influence peaked under Stalin.

Your post confirms my opinion. All it lacks is a "dayum," a "shieeet" or some other gibberish.

I'm aware of that, but the wackiness of russian christianity applies to the plain ol' orthodox guys just as well. and they ALL got fucked by the commies
> bolsheviks were Jews
>did most of the pogroms
>gulags are a jewish invention
hooo boy, i was dangerously close to starting to like you. Ima just put that on the shelf and hope it gets dusty

Fuck, I wish I'd screencapped that thread, I don't think it was from when Zimbalist died but it had something to do with best depictions of Alfred, and some (possible intentionally fake) kid was like "omg is that jerry from totally spies?" and the alfred reply was all "young lady, if you got that tumescent penis out of your mouth for a moment, you might learn a thing or two about quality animated television"

Tish is exactly the sort of girl I always find myself attracted to.

But I'm a working class shmuck who despite being relatively intelligent squandered his opportunities for education.

So Here I am. In my Mid 20s. Living in a van.
Im enough of an autodidact that I can hold my own in a debate with a highly educated person.

Im not Good will Hunting smart.
But I know my shit.

But Its frustrating. I find myself attracted to sweet natured, educated women and Im this scruffy van dwelling warehouse work that just reads a lot.

He first comes to mind, though he fell from grace. I'm not that familiar with the various individuals of the Red Revolution because it's beyond the scope of my interest. However, my statement is a commonly known fact and if you wish to verify it I'm sure even wikipedia will be sufficient. Just pay attention to names.

I'm not even trying. The Sokolnikov guy was a Jew too.

You will not avert your eyes. It is a great sin. Go forth and find the truth.

But let's get back to the Weekenders. I like both Lor and Tish, but as I got older I started leaning more towards Tish. I think that it's simply because tomboys are "one of the guys" and are easy to talk to, easy to interact with and relatable to boys. Most of us probably had a tomboy friend at a certain point in childhood.

I honestly wish I had an arcade near me so me and my friends had a place to hang out

Isn't that the episode where that one woman scooped mashed potatoes off the floor and and everyone in the family got sick from eating it, or was that from another show?

Yup, it's from the show but not the episode that screen is from. And it wasn't a woman, it was the coach.

I see a pink-haired space woman in your future

And technically, it wasn't the potatoes, it was the goose liver soup that Granny Lor kept in her trunk since the previous Christmas...

Tino and his mother has one of the most underrated mother/son relationships ever....

Tino: I'm super-doomed. I've hidden my sports incompetence for my entire life!
Tino's Mom: That's a challenging task.
Tino: Now I'm gonna be outed as a klutz in front of every kid within 20 miles! And that's why I'd like you to tell people that I broke both my legs in a blimp accident.
Tino's Mom: Okay, small problem. That would be what we call a lie.
Tino: Oh mom, lies are very in right now.
Tino's Mom: Nice try. Hey, here's a nutty idea. Instead of worrying about what everyone else thinks, maybe you could just have fun at the picnic?
Tino: ... Oh, that's great. Could you be a little more condescending?
Tino's Mom: No, I pretty much maxed out there.

I wish I could be sarcastic and snarky with my mom, with her being able to dish equally-sarcastic retorts right back back to me

The dialogue was like Brendon and Paula from Home Movies except 10x better

I love getting the chance to be sarcastic with my family in this way

I can do something like this with everyone but my dad

He can never tell when I'm being sarcastic

What really sucks is that, for a brief time, that special was put on demand last December. It's probably the only time the show's been on TV for a decade and it was one of the worst episodes.

I remember there being a running gag where one of their classmates was never seen but I can't remember what her name was.

The conversations at the dinner table were always great.

I wish my family ate together at the dinner table.

I'm gonna rewatch this show.

...

Weekenders thread is ready for the weekend?
Or just autosage?

Ah.....the unlucky Chloe Montez

I don't remember a lot from this show but I'll never forget this one scene where the kids were asking a bunch of other kids what their favorite music instrument was. The scene quickly cut to one boy who was in the middle of a loud air-guitar demonstration. Then he stopped and said "Piano!"

I don't know why I found that so funny at the time but I lost my fucking shit

Opinions on funniest episode?

My vote is for the one where Tino decides to no longer have emotions

That was a pretty funny one actually.

Tfw you wanna watch a few episodes on YouTube and Disney has copyrighted all the episodes

Come on its not like your making money off it any more

Bump

I'm on YouTube watching and it's not blocked for me. Or are you trying to watch specific episodes?

Watching the show makes me wished I lived in a cool beach town with an arcade, Oceanside snack bar, amusement park, and mall all in walking distance.

And parents that can pay for it all.

I was seriously jealous of not living within walking distance of some cool places

Alot of these types of shows had that problem, especially when you live in a more rural area. I remember moving to a house that had a Dollar General in walking distance and thinking it was just the coolest thing in the world.

Come on, Home Movies isn't that bad.

I live within walking distance of 3 convenience stores, a drive thru and an Ice Cream shop. Shit is cash, especially since one is a liquor store with great subs.

And then a hurricane hits and most of that is gone.
Thanks Sandy.

I swear to god for half of my childhood I thought she was a dude.

I just looked up how old this show is and now I'm depressed

It happens to us all

Could be worse. You could have forgotten it.

2001. Fifteen years ago. That's a long time. Glad I still love the show.

Oh, and for the record? Mostly Tish, with a heaping side of Lor.

>my kite is ever so broken

>>GRAPE...SODA....NOOOOOW!

>AAH JIMMY!!
>you served me Jimmy on a bun

>"Ahh, the smell of me."

So which was your favorite pizza place and why was it the aquarium one?

Greg doesn't read, he just makes music by himself.

The kung fu one was ridiculous especially how he headbutted the pizza

Why are their faces so wide

why no nips :(

To keep it from getting deleted

The power of imagination lad.

>Kids these days. . .

If I met grown-up Tish and Lor, naked but covered with cheese dip, I don't think my first instinct would be to complain that I couldn't see their nipples.

My first instinct would be to ask, "Where are the Tostitos?"

Rugrats influence... Maybe

oh fuck you, home movies dialogue is 100x better. this is a show for little kids.

Yeah it feels like the underage bans are getting worse and worse

>My first instinct would be to ask, "Where are the Tostitos?"

Kek

The Pudding Ball episode was definitely top 3. So many classic quotes:

Carver: You guys are toast.
Tino: Well you're double toast!
Lor: You're triple toast!
Tish: You're FRENCH toast!!!
Tino: .......French toast?
Tish: (sighs) It's been a long day.

Tino: That's tough talk for someone who's going to combing pudding out of their hair tomorrow!
Carver: You can't comb dreads!

Tino: The game's almost over! Looks like it's gonna be a tie.
Tish: No way. It's time for Operation Cheat.
Tino: ......and what exactly does that entail?
Tish: Cheating.
Tino: I...see.

Tino: We didn't just ditch our friendship today - we ditched the rules. And if a game doesn't have rules, it isn't a game, is it?
Carver: No, its politics.
Tino: Exactly.

My theory was always that the pizza restaurant was run by an eclectic billionaire who loves pizza and being an entertainer/making food fun. I would love to go to a place like this IRL.

This.

Didn't the put her in a wedding dress at some point?

I actually had a crush on Mrs. Dewong.
I didn't care that she was always pregnant. She was hot.

forgot pic

Is that a fault or a feature?

Mrs. Duong was truly a hot PMILF. Always helping the helpless and stuff.

The preggers state was a part of her hotness

It was a running gag like how Bonnie from Family Guy was preggers for several seasons

EXTREME JACKS!!!!

She really reminds me of my mom. Even down to the divorce.

Disney needs a channel like Boomerang. I haven't
seen this show in years.

I'll never understand how she went from marrying and procreating with Tino's wimpy neurotic father, to dating a cool, taller, manlier guy like Dixon.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Tino's dad is a bad person (he actually seemed nice for the most part, like he means well with everything he does)....but he's just so different than what I'd expect someone like her to be interested in. Dixon was definitely better for her.

Women like to fix things, especially men. What she probably thought initially were cute, endearing qualities in Tino's dad soon became part of a set of "irreconcilable differences."

She's worked hard to help Tino become a good kid without overly changing him. The fact that she steers him in the right direction while not overtly try to beat the similarities between him and his dad out of him speaks volumes to her maturity.

Plus, the dad is a blimp pilot. He's gone from home a lot. That puts a strain on any marriage.

>Blimp pilot
Well he's married to the blimp then. A divorce was inevitable.

OH YES

She was one of my favorite characters

What story is this?

>Blimp pilot
>Well he's married to the blimp then. A divorce was inevitable.

Man that brought up some memories with my friend

His mom was a stewardess and after the divorce whenever she got home the tension was ridiculous

God damn, that quote broke the floodgates. Couldn't remember any specifics about the show, but I still heard that in his voice.

>I like pointy things!

They could easily do it with the amount of shows they have

Course that was what toon Disney was originally

I remember this. Laughed my ass off.

I WANT BOTH DAMMIT

Same senpai

>tmw i grew my hair out like Lor and everyone at school though I was cool
Thanks Lor, for having that amazing hair style.

Didn't Tish read Oedipus Rex to little kids once?

You really you'd have been more popular had you had Tish's pom pom hair

How the hell do you come second place to a guy who threw hams in the air

>Tishy Tishy Tishy Tishy Tishy Tishy Tishy Tishy WOOO WOOO

I just went back and started watching these again, and even in season one episode one Tino's mom is celebrating the Equinox, so it's not like her having a Solstice party later on is some kind of left-field deal.

>being a dude

What about real pagans, like the kind you find on Cred Forums or this guy en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gemistus_Pletho

>trying to trick people into moving to california with your tv shows

california has literally become a glorified, slightly wealther version of ohio

It was in the wonderful year 2016 when he became Tina and him and the lesbian Lor lived together as woman and transwoman

>they all got fucked by the commies

Lenin, Trotsky and a slew of other high-ranking commies were Jews

The man behind the Ukrainian genocide was Genrikh Yagoda, a Jew

The Jews most likely suffered, since Marx was a Jew who believed that most Jews would be mass murdered during the worker's revolution for being anti-revolutionary but a frighteningly large number of Jews seem to have backed communism solely to use it as a vehicle to get back at the perceived "imperial russian oppressors" who were often peasants with little more than their farm

Lenin and Trotsky were both Jews

Bela Kun in Hungary and Rosa Luxemburg in Germany were both Jews

Genrikh Yagoda, the man behind the Ukranian genocide, was a Jew

Get fucked, moron.

Okay, everybody stop Tishing and go watch the show!

From the Encyclopedia Britannica: "pogrom, (Russian: "devastation," or "riot"), a mob attack, either approved or condoned by authorities, against the persons and property of a religious, racial, or national minority. The term is usually applied to attacks on Jews in the Russian Empire in the late 19th and early 20th centuries."

I'd tap that. I bet Tino's mom was pretty hot when she was pregnant too.

Half the thread is about wanting to fuck the characters, the other half is about russian orthodox christians.

What?

sounds like a normal Cred Forums thread to me

The second half is new to me. But I suppose you have a point.

It's pretty atypical, unless Kaziklu is involved. Nothing against him but man it always seems to be brought up by him.

In general Cred Forums is more chill, but Cred Forums goes through seasons of less angry and more angry, helpful/not.

See 3 million Ukrainians died

reeeeeeeee fuck you putin is a god- a GOD

RUSSIA STRONG

This brings back memories.

Lenin's paternal grandmother was Jewish, who converted to Christianity. That was the closest relative to him who was a Jew. So that's one point off.

Trotsky's family did have Jewish heritage, but was reportedly non-religious. I've give that on a half-point.

According to his biographer, "his father was a lapsed Jewish village notary, while his mother was Protestant." Again, half-points.

Rosa Luxemburg was indeed Jewish. So that's one for certain.

Yagoda was also Jewish (at least, his family was).

Congrats, you got two out of five. That's a failing grade!

So I'm trying to finish vectoring this image and well

Babysitting episode was the best

Fuckers just can't commit to something.

my hs class was barely 200 and there were definitely cliques. Granted not to the extreme often portrayed in media. People weren't isolated in their groups but there were definitely "the popular kids" and their exclusive parties.
>never got invited

this is really good

could be a girl, you never know.

>200 students in a class
Is this a word we use differently? Because over here a class means 20 or so people unless you're in university.

bless your kind soul

And I just realized I never finished her legs

I'll just have to work on it tonight after work

I'd like to know this too, because if it's my work it should not be. I took care to BTFO my old fapfiction years ago, and the Tish/Lor/Tino threeway happens in the third chapter, which is to say by the end.

Meat and meat byproducts are extremely popular. Can't compete with ham.

I still call bullshit

You know you like it

youtube.com/watch?v=BBoLA_BQ4tU

Carver's baby brother was so awesome in that

His face when he first ate the sugar was creepy as hell

Except you can see a bit of nip on Tish's left boobie.

Same thing on Lor's. Those are jalapeño slices.

Those are nipples, jalepenos are not small and circular like that.

Jalapeños, sliced across, are indeed round. Have you never had nachos or Rotel dip and chips?

They are not fucking nipple-sized you idiot.

Not all nipples are an inch across or bigger. Especially in young teens.

Those don't look an inch across in the pic, and there's still nothing to prove they aren't nipples.

fuck I remember her, kekked hard whenever that episode aired

...

My high school class was 50 students, the largest in our school's history for a single grade, and even we had cliques.

There were several kickass torrents clones that popped up, but pretty much all of them have an older version of the KA database or just point to the PirateBay.

If you want to follow torrent news, you should check out torrentfreak.com/

That's literally the outline of the fucking cheese, you horny fuck. If the artist wanted nipples to be there, the fucking areola would have at least been noticeable.

They don't have to draw the areola you goddamn retard. And it's not the fucking chees, you can literally see the "nub" of a nipple, doesn't have a thing do with horniness you projecting ass dipshit faggot.

>They don't have to draw the areola you goddamn retard.
Says who? Oh right no one. Not actual artist if they intended to add nipples to their character.
>And it's not the fucking chees, you can literally see the "nub" of a nipple
It's cheese. If there was going to be nipples, you'd SEE each damn tit have one, not just one selectively because your horny dickbrained ass wants to see underaged breasts.

I was moderately popular at my high school.

Thing is, either pop-culture and media warped my perspective of what high-school would be like (likely), or my school was just the exception, because it was generally the Band members that were the most popular kids. "Jocks" and cheerleaders weren't especially well-liked, and we still had a couple groups of "outcasts".

Yes, media depictions of school are pretty skewed, but thinking back on it, it's still a bit weird exactly HOW different things are/were.

spare any Tish for a weary user?

Lord yes.

>horny dickbrained ass

Nice fucking projection you niggering retard. Plenty of artists will draw breasts with just one nipple because they're going for subtly. How about you prove it's cheese? Oh wait, you can't. It's obviously fucking nipples you goddamn mongoloid cocksucking retard.

This is the greatest thread to ever exist.

I went to a state school with a huge sports program. It had all those things and more. A large campus for divisions between colleges (arts, engineering, humanities, etc.), a large Annex for agriculture, training hospitals for medical staff, football stadium, theatre, amphitheater, cafeterias, dorms, on campus appartments. It was like a city within a city.

I remember the good ol' days before YouTube cracked down on copyright and every episode of The Weekenders was up on there

Weekenders had a theme song with lyrics?

I remember the general montage, with the upside down TV, but very little else

I really liked HA, but Weekenders always resonated with me more.

Must have been the fact that it was more contemporary to me, or because I'm a suburban kid and HA is very much urban.

On the whole, Weekenders is much chiller, while Hey Arnold is sometimes more emotional.

What is this Ukraine?

>Kim Possible, Lloyd in Space, American Dragon, Sabrina TAS intros in related

I didn't need this

don't act like you don't love it.

I think it's a bird maybe. Like a loon or something.

I just seem to remember more of HA.

Did cartoons always used to move this much? Am I just used to shows like GF or SU holding still for a good 3 seconds while a character talks and only occasionally holds their hand up mid-sentence?

No, I don't think so. The Weekenders stand out among cartoons from the same time with having extremely fluid animation. It felt really weird when I watched this the first time.

A naggy feminist? Disgusting

How is this thread still up?

Guys were arguing about teenage nipples in here

Animation today either run on animu time (new anime of today, mind you) or Flash shit for animation nowadays, for 2D stuff. I noticed it too when I saw the OP clip, I seriously wish animation can go back to when it was really good instead of the weightless animation crap of today.

And Russian Orthodoxy, apparently.

Great thread.

And not arguing about the implications of a teenage boy buying fuzzy girls' undergarments. For his sister.

Take your time.

Cartoons at the time used to move even less if you could believe it, Disney shows like Weekenders were the exception.

And to be fair, the characters rarely did much besides sitting and talking in most of the episodes.

Woof.

Look at that face. As an avowed vegan, she knows any suitor will soon realize that she will be their sole source of meat in that house.

Tish looking comfy in Denim shorts, bikini top and flipflops

>The Weekenders stand out among cartoons from the same time with having extremely fluid animation

I first noticed how fluid the animation was in the Party Planning episode

And I love how the characters normally have different outfits on different days/occasions. VERY nice touch for a cartoon.

Holy shit nice job

Glad you did a better job then me

That one cutaway was funnier than anything Family Guy has ever done

Bump

i just worked on finding a higher detailed picture

Still did a good job senpai

Thanks, user.
I appreciate this.

So did your source come from the torrent?

no, youtube

really?

I can't watch them off of Jewtube cause of Disney

didn't say it was good. just better quality than the other anons image.

This thread lasted almost six days.
Let's make it last for an entire week!

I mean it's like comparing Da Vinci to Raphael. Obviously Hey Arnold is more popular and respected but the Weekenders is by no means a poor show.

Of course many of us prefer Bosch, or in this case, Invader Zim, but they all of their places. Like a big art history harem anime.

...

Whew, that's a load off my back. It's just a personal thing. I wrote a lot of fapfiction back in the day (ranging from Ruby Gloom to the Weekenders to Billy and Mandy etc.) and none of it was shocking or weird. I gravitate towards romantic mushy stuff and pretty standard sexual practices. But that was a long time ago so now I'd be pretty uncomfortable with the stories purely because they're so old and I'd find them lacking/subpar.

there is a disturbing lack of discussion about lors broodmother

God this show was ahead of it's time.

Do you not remember the kind of "food" Tino's mom usually prepared?

She was a weirdo through and through, celebrating the Solstice and Equinox makes perfect sense.

Nah. I mean, pretty sure Pepper Ann predates this, along with more forgotten school-focused shows than you can imagine.

That's some deviantart tier.

Shinda Mane is the artist. Union of the Snake is the circle name.

I believe you hit the nail on the head, user.

When I first watched this show, I thought Lor was a boy. When I watched it again in 2001, I had a massive crush on Tish.

Rewatching it, I'm neutral on the two.

Who's Pepper Ann in this metaphor?

>K.I.S.S.I.N.G? Oh, we can do much more than that in this tree.

>There's only one thing to do!
>Sit down and discuss it like mature adults?
>Ignore it, and hope it goes away.

>I am the sloth! The sloth is I! I am one with the sloth!

Go on.

Are you from that show Horsin' Around?

I remember that last one.....funny as hell

>Have I told you about the adult literature I've found in the far off section of the library, Tino? They're quite.... stimulating.

>Tish, I'm not sure what you're getting at.

>Just lie back, Tino. If you think magic tricks are cool, these books showed me a lot of amazing things that you can do with your hands.

>Like what? Shadow puppets? Gang signs? Cat's cradl.. Ahhh what are you doing?!

>Lor is watching from a bush near the tree, anticipation rising

God, all the main characters looked like they had Fetal alcohol syndrome

Don't do this to my dick.

>Lor can't tear her eyes from what is playing out in the tree, her hands tentatively reaching towards her jeans

Goddamn harlot.

clearly she's going to climb up the tree and join them, once she realizes her own hands aren't enough to sate this emerging lust

Either way, she slipped them off and tossed them out of the tree.

Nobody is going to notice underwear under a tree.

The tighty-whiteys fell onto Lor's face. This sent her over the edge.

Let me guess.
She climbed up and demanded a piece of the action.

Why are we writing bad smut?

Because we lack what's needed for good smut.

Bruh selfies have existed longer than you've been alive, get over yourself.

If the thread is no longer going to devote discussion, it's time to stop. It already lasted a full week, it's done.

Yeah, gotta make room for the SU and Loud House generals

And the point is?
I'd much prefer Weekenders to TumblrU and nuFOP but Weekenders is outdated, no one today on Cred Forums is going to devote that much time for it anymore, too many newGen Cred Forums kids now.
I really did like seeing this thread for once, but since it seems all has been said about it, time to move on and maybe start this again another time.

Fine, Tish has fat thighs. Look at how the right just sticks out like that!

Well, I personally had a bit of a fanfiction moment the other day about the idea that Tino and Tish get together when they undergo their young adulthood years and Tish wanting to please Tino more she starts lessening her veganess and plumps up her body as a result, kinda came to mind thanks to

Don't try to backseat moderate. Just let them work themselves silly until the bump limit hits.

Did she ever have a thing for Tino in the show? I always kind of felt Lor might have had more of a thing, but hid it through her tomboy nature.

I thought Lor might have imo more than Tish, but again, it was just a fanon thing that came to mind the other day. But imo, I'm starting to like that idea more (it seems I've been having that a lot lately, e.g, Matt and Jackie in Cyberchase instead of Matt and Inez.)

Could always have both, it's not completely impossible for two girls to love a guy

I'm perfectly content with the "harem" route, but from a "standard" direction, just one choice would go, so either one or the other. Fanon side now, TishNo, "canon" side, LorNo.

But when it comes to harem, pure hardcore sex with lesbo action. Same going for the Cyberquad kids as well btw.

>This is a load of barnacles
>Wrong show, Lor

We need more lewds

Or at least try and signal Simon to swing by this thread

The bump limit is looming really close tho, maybe when another thread starts up would be better.
If I had time, I would try to doodle something up, but I'm already working on a project atm to do it. But more fan art of this show is always warranted.

...

stop it boner...

>the thread is still up
Congrats, Cred Forums
A week-long thread that was only just slightly derailed in the middle
Kudos

I'd love for stuff of a teenaged Lor getting annoyed with her growing body and her clothes fitting tighter and tighter.

Tish also being vexed by her growing form, but also having her curiosity piqued by the flood of hormones would be great.

Next time, baby.

so lets say that when this thread pops up within say a month we start up with drawing new lewds

since October is around the corner I believe everyone will more then likely be occupied with doing halloween stuff

but come christmas it'll probably be pretty easy to get some new material

Well that's weird

Dubs says we should try again after October

Then we have a thread in October with Halloween themed Weekender lewds.

>Tish and Lor dressing up in borderline slutty costumes and asking Tino to judge who pulls off their costume best
>The girls doing kinky rp shenanigans with a clueless Tino

Does this include Mrs. T handing out "healthy" treats to trick-or-treaters but only getting horny teenage boys coming by?

It means everyone has a happy holiday.

where can I find a real-life girl like Tish, anons?

just hang around a middle school for a while. I'm sure nothing bad will come of it.

yeah he just waits there and asks them different questions

so when one of them answers like her

he's finally found his Tish

Should we start THE Van?

too obvious

Your mother is obvious.

I know we're only 9 posts away from saging and I'm glad we had this thread
