Aaron reads these threads, I just know it.

>ditto pile imitating Wally
okay that's kind of cute

>After a fashion, yes

What did he mean by that?

>this is a Monday update

Hoo boy!

plooot twiiiist

wtf i hate m. night shyamalan now

Are you shitting me

>furry makes a wish that her furry paradise comes into fruition, where everyone is a furry

>her persecution complex feeds into the creation of a radicalized oppressor to keep furries as victims, while at the same time her desire to wipe the slate clean manifests as the war's devastation

IT"S ALL COMING FULL CIRCLE

...

>it's all Jess's fault

yet another reason for her to feel terrible!

What.

...

It better not be some meta-shit of like "It's not a virus! You're in a story and it is just a plot device."

I will drop the whole webcomic if that's the twist.

>people draw pictures of you and Jim... remember Jim? Sucking each other off.

>The comic slowly zooms back, showing the comic in the midst of being drawn

We need more of this depressed QT.

Maybe finally enjoying herself for once, like with some other mutants.

>Wanting her to be happy
Fuck off, she's made to suffer.

...

>Wally gets shown the Cred Forums, /trash/, and Gocomic threads ; comments
>He's not sure what he's more disgusted of

Let me guess.
Dittos casting an illusion.

Dittos came to earth AFTER that

Dittos can't cast the illusion of being smaller

nah it's probably some horrible space demon

>TFW the twist is that "it's actually a bacteria!"

>No mutagenic virus
I'm racking my brain trying to figure this out. Given the conditions and everything around it, what the hell else could it be?

Maybe humanity is evolving towards a race of shapeshifters but right now the process is uncontrollable resulting eldritch abominations when they're awake and in emotion distress or unconciousness when the transformation unfolds

Maybe dittos are what humanity will eventually become?

Remember Jim? There's clearly some sort of eldritch horror instigating this.

I'm so glad I got into this comic. The ride never ends.

Mind radiation? After all, the changes are affected by your mental state. Those who are awake lose their sense of self and become monsters. Those who are asleep become animals. People with a strong sense of self are unaffected

Maybe some higher-ups at APEX are involved? That would explain their lackluster response until things started going to real shit.

Emotion. Feelings.

Naw son, if it was bacterial the lucranian would of still been in danger.

>in this reality humans always had the capability to transform but it could only happen in times of great distress
>the war caused a few people to freak the fuck out and mutate
>mass hysteria spread and more people turned
>became widely accepted as some sort of virus because there was no other explanation
>the recesses of everyone's mind began to accept the ground rules that if you were exposed to the air you would mutate, so they did
>the people who didn't mutate / were immune because they were sociopaths or autistic

it's all a state of mind and reality is subjective

Wouldn't it happen a lot earlier than it did?

>the people who didn't mutate / were immune because they were sociopaths or autistic

I wouldn't say they were sociopathic or autistic. The characters that are immune to the transformation anomaly seems to be able to keep their emotions in check.

>The characters that are immune to the transformation anomaly seems to be able to keep their emotions in check.
Guess I won't be immune

A Mutagenic virus that is capable of doing all this is harder to believe in the long run.

If anything I would believe its just the fabric of reality fucking up due to the fact that the planet should be dead but isn't. Mutation was kinda small scale at first because timeline wise it was before the world bombed itself to death. But after the bombs fell the planet should of been dead but wasn't, meaning that "mutation" was assured.

yeah that's why a human who didn't mutate committed suicide by topsider within the first 20 pages

This could be, is something in the mind

because everyone will hate this answer, the cause is some field generator or somesuch placed by Marx to counteract the radiation that would have just killed off the whole planet like all the other reality

It might be so rare that without the pre-war population there was basically no chance of it happening.

Or it might be a mass consciousness kind of thing, where without millions of people having the same idea it would never happen. You need that cold war kind of unease, believing radiation can do anything, etc.

That's in line with Marx's role, since he represents the Author

Multiverse.
He's human but just not the same type of human as Wally was

Guys, we always knew this.

Remember when the Topsiders couldn't isolate the virus nor the immunity gene?
It's because there was no virus.
Let's not forget the rapid changes in mass.
You can't grow into a 100 ton giant beast in a few seconds because you got super-AIDS

It was always some Lovecraftian reality warping.

Well, color me fucking surprised. IT's clear the thing never acted like a virus.

So does Wally's form get warped there from an alternate reality where everybody is cats, and so on and so forth?

It likely to have something to do with the missing animals

But they remember being human and we've seen the monstrosities definitely transform from humans.

Shit, I got an idea

What if to save this universe, or this Earth at least, Marx borrowed the characteristics of another universe where everyone is animal people but there wasn't a fucking apocalypse. Because of inter-dimensional shenanigans, this caused Fox Marx to become a fox-furry. Then because he fucked with the laws of the universe, people began to randomly turn into furries, but only if they were in the proper state, otherwise they would freak the fuck out, throwing their transformation all haywire and turning themselves into abominations. Those people who are immune either didn't exist in the furry reality, or they are just on some cosmic level immune to becoming a furry, unless the conditions are right for delayed transformation. The laws of the universe get so fucked up after the bombs drop that not being immune can result in you just naturally mutating if you don't have proper protection. Apex develops the suits so they can handle just enough of the reality warping to prevent the wearers from turning into Disney characters

OKAY THIS IS A GOOD DEVELOPMENT

I always hated how the 'virus' functioned, turning people into monsters or fluffy animals depending on if they were asleep or not. It made very very little sense.

>turning people into monsters or fluffy animals depending on if they were asleep or not. It made very very little sense
That is what still happens tho

But now it depends on whether they were awake and connected to Yog-Soggoth or asleep and connected to Furry Jesus

Yeah, but it's not caused by a random virus.

I'm going to guess something sciency is the explanation.

The virus was the sciency explanation.
I'm ready for straight up "Evil Magic did it"

Common science was the explanation, there's still place for the science fiction

Is... is this the end?

Yes.

WHAAAAAAA?

Wait ... This entire thing is gonna be the ship fucking with him to make him feel miserable and fuel the ship.

If it is, Wally can drain it of its dittoes

I doubt it, he already has the rest to do that and I don't think he would try to fuck with Wally again

In fact the only person to be unequivocally sociopathic became a lizard.

Don't these fuckers feed off of emotional distress? Wouldn't telling them the virus was bullshit create more emotional distress?

He should have kidnapped a bunch of Topsiders and done that then.

wait WHAT

>It's a "the answer was inside you all along" episode

>Memes, Jack

He's a slob!

he feeds off of distress, but he's also an AI, which means he's generally pretty honest when asked direct questions.

Reposting dino waifus here too, just because.

Don't forget the link :^)
youtu.be/fNeAINi9omo

...

...

HOLY FUCK

>I swear to god, if you say I could have stopped being a 3 foot cat at any time I'm crashing this ship with no survivors.

Ooookay I'm starting to call bullshit.

Even considering the evil-for-the-sake-of-being-evil coproration Apex would pull shitty wool over people's eyes, they still came out and concluded that people turning to animals was a virus that other doctors around the world AND THEIR GOVERNMENTS (I'm assuming governments had enough control/power to still rival Apex heavily and keep them somewhat in place) would have agreed upon.

They designed MACHINES that signal out INFECTED folks.

Humans wearing BIOHAZARD ISOLATED ENVIRONMENT SUITS do submit to transformation UPON BREACH OF SUIT.

Our super illustrious Doctor Xavier would have noticed there wasn't a biological trace of a virus inside the virus, not to mention our favorite scowling wallaby medical practitioner would have been more in the path to notice something like that.

This, coupled with the past few comics of just word-bombs and exposition AND the growing convoluted setting with Multiverse and stuff may make or break the series for me.

There better be a damn good reason why the pathogen that acted very virus like ISN'T a virus.

The ship is already crashed

>There better be a damn good reason why the pathogen that acted very virus like ISN'T a virus.

Its probably a memetic cognohazard or all the bombs that detonated fucked up not only the causality but breached the boundaries between the mind and body. So with enough willpower and mental control, the survivors can become literally whatever they can think of.

You know, with all the emotional talk and the fact that Aaron doesn't like that the comic is becoming too dark I'm starting to believe the the whole message of the comic is some kind of "feel good" bullshit.

I say that it behaved like a virus because people believed on their minds that it was that.

>the survivors can become literally whatever they can think of.
Except that mutation is still completely aleatory doesn't mattter how much will you have

Maybe it's the next stage of evolution and stress is what causes the transformation

Well, evolution doesn't happen for a moment to another

>memetic cognitohazard
So... would you say its Keter or Euclid?

Keter judging by the state of things.

None of this addresses the big issue.

Scientists from around the world, Apex's own boys, doctors, and even Xavier in Endtown would have noticed the severe lack of virus microbes in this virus.

It could be a genetic mutation caused by small doses of Amesworth radiation, which is why it looks like a viral outbreak.

Well a lot of the state of things happened because of the war, not the mutations.

I think it would be euclid, but who knows. Depends on whether more people were awake or asleep when the mutation happened.

See, I'm willing to accept that.

But at the same time, that makes the big 'reveal' by the AI kinda shit.

"It's not a virus!"
>What the fuck!?
"It's mutation based on Amesworth Radiation!"
>Oh so... all things considered no big difference.

To be honest it was kinda what I assumed from the beginning until they started talking about the virus in more detail as a plague rather than what I thought was Fallout-levels of mutation.

Perhaps they were never looking for a viral microbe to begin with?

They only called it biological "virus" to give the impression that they know what their doing and in some ways reduce mass hysteria by rationalizing something they can't explain.

Topsiders did noticed, but this is never really touched deeply in the comic, actually besides that scene in the cafe in one of the first arcs and this arc, the virus itself is never talked or analyzed

I never thinked that have any sense the only effects know to be cause by Amesworth radiation is extreme dehydration

>It's some eldritch magic bullshit that's forcing the mutations
God I hope not, I just wanted a comfy depressing post-apoc story served zootopia style.

When I first discovered the comic I didn't even try to get into it because I thought it was just furry garbage, but I rediscovered it later on and though it's definitely not perfect, it's been an enjoyable ride nonetheless and I'm glad I gave it a second chance.

>all this retconning
>people are happy with it

get fucked

To repeat from last thread,

>animals disappear
>animal mutations appear

Do the math

It's not really retconning, it's just giving new information.

>retconning

It had viruslike behavior, but they've never actually determined anything about the supposed virus that caused the mutations. Magic, Amesworth radiation or some other explanation has always been plausible.

No retconning; I talked with Aaron about this last year

>I just wanted a comfy depressing post-apoc story served zootopia style
Then you better get off the ride then, since Marx appeared for the first time it was pretty obvious that all will be some kind of dimensional fuckery. Also what's exactly "zootopia style"? Just curious since this comic precedes that.

>but I rediscovered it later on and though it's definitely not perfect
You know, I like to say that this comic doesn't really have any lows and even the ones that are considere to be are not as bad as people seem to think.

>retconning
And according to you what was the original idea?

Fuck, last response was for

>"what the heck is it then?"
>"Nanomachines, son!"

What math?

Are you implying that the animals turned into mutations? That the mutations were meant to replace animals? What?

WELL ALRIGHTY THEN

Yeah, animal species disappeared as the animal mutations began to appear.
Remember, the mutations were pretty underground for quite a while before
the buildup to the war.

agreed, Marx isn't nearly as cringe as people make him out to be, and he is arguably the comic's closest thing to a lowpoint.

Nice.
I'm hopping something similar to Rock and Rule, cause that shit was awesome.

I read Endtown like it's a soap opera or a radio drama. It's one of those things that are not perfect by far yet manage to have a grip on you.

I'm the same way. It's exciting in a cheesy sort of way
I kinda half wish for an animated netfix series for it or something

That's the thing with Endtown: is not flawless, but damn right that you won't really feel the ones that it has.

satin

I get that two things happened at the same time, but that doesn't imply one caused the other. It might as well be that the virus (or whatever it was since it's not a virus now) that caused the mutations was simply lethal to animals or something like that.

Like, the cloth?

Uh, no.

No what?

All you've been saying is that these two things happen, but you've yet to explain why you think that is.

Sorry, no spoilers

>hurr it's so obvious guys, just do the math.
>no I can't explain it, I don't actually know anything
>I just like being smug on anonymous imageboards

Ok.

You are going to be pissing blood after Friday's update.

I'm already pissing blood. Damn kidneys are fucked.

>I kinda half wish for an animated netfix series for it or something
It would be cool to see Aaron's artstyle animated, everything depends if people is interested enough

>trust in me, my dad works for Aaron Neathery

was someone making an endtown fancomic about people who got trapped in space. Or did that stop?

Oh yeah well MY dad's I.
And I can see everything.
I can see you.

I wonder when the story is gonna be able to get around to telling us about Wally's fucked up eye. I know Aaron said it would be explained eventually, apparently something to do with when he mutated.

I said that it will be until mooooore late in the story

Nice job, Jamil. Also that was a lewd commentary from those vultures...

I'm gonna try doing something not-Endtown with the watercolours yesterday and then try out taking few shots at Endtown charas in watercolours and pencil.

...is that you aaron?

Suule

how are you?

No, is just an assumption

Thank you Suule. And i cant wait to see what you come up with. I hope you're doing well.

>Also that was a lewd commentary from those vultures...

ib4 SJW boogymen come after me for my villanous characers throwing sexually harassing comments at a fictional lizard girl.

I already reported you to the internet authorities for that, prepare to suffer racist shitlord

Well then...

So what? My Dad is Marx!

Please help me

A hard day but otherwise good. And good God I really hope not, I know how tumblr uses tend to get pissy over nothing. Maude playing possum is ultra cute, glad you've used that thing for her.

>check desuarchive.org for previous Endtown threads
>Endtown not being archived

well fuck

Just put Endtown in the subject field and leave everything blank

>Inb4 Aaron gives up on end town to make a Marx spin-off
>This is the title.

Do either of you know what happened to DK? Or KC? Do all drawfags know each other?

DK popped in few days ago, KC is doing his best to get rid of his backlog. He still posts here though but anonymously.

dude holy fuck just wait and see how it gets explained, we're excited because we get plot development relating to the core of the story, who fucking cares about the intricacies, stop being close minded.

>Do all drawfags know each other?

We meet up in private and discuss waifus and husbandos...

I shoulda known
also the fact that Suule's mom approves of him drawing porn for money still makes me laugh

>spoiler
Wait, what?

...

>husbandos...
Oh yes.

At least there's no Danger Ranger needed.

Twelve-or-so years ago my mother said in all seriousness said that I should make money off what I draw. She did say not to draw anything illegal or something I will regret later on. She had the right idea as I patch the budget with pornbucks.

I know she knows and doesn't care as long as bills are paid and food is on the plate. My household is full of really amusing individuals.

>Suule's mom not only supports what he does but encourages him to take what he is good at and make a living out of it
>Suule is still taking care of his mom like a son should
If i had money i'd give a bunch to you, suule.

What if it's fuckin nanobots with cloaking abilities? They cloak until they decide it's time to reform a person. When a person's asleep, they can easily reassemble the into a form better suited to survive the current world. When they're awake, the body is fighting the rebuilding effort violently, fucking up the building process in the first place, the bots keep reproducing wildly to compensate for the ones killed by the immune system, and the dead bots get used as building material, causing a huge mass expansion and failed reconstruction, resulting in monsters.

I'm surprised that people are surprised. The comic and Aaron have been telegraphing its non-virus state for ages and we've been speculating about as long ().

I kinda feel like the computer was just taking another chance to insult his previous master.

Aaron maybe, but the comic never really touched the theme of the virus besides establish some rules

Like the rules that it can change people's mass in a way that should be physically impossible for a virus? Or that it works way faster than any virus should? Or that it's possibly triggered by stress? You can probably explain those away, but we were all speculating weeks back that it likely wasn't a classical virus, it took up entire half-threads. Hope we're gonna finally find out what it actually is, though I wouldn't put it past Aaron to have the the computer lead Wally on, have Wally spit the obvious question out and then have the computer give digital shrug and go "No clue" next Monday...

I don't know, it's possible that the computer only knows that the mutations are not caused by a virus, but is ignorant of what is the source

Yeah, that's what I was wondering about. Like it can only scan for the presence of a virus and say "nope, none", it can't actually figure out what it really is.

I have to say, though, that if we are left hanging and this already-predicted thing is the revelation Aaron alluded to in that email I'll be a tiny bit disappointed in both him and the comic... but I'd have been way more disappointed if it was just Farx.

>that if we are left hanging and this already-predicted thing is the revelation Aaron alluded to in that email I'll be a tiny bit disappointed in both him and the comic
I honestly don't get your problem, if your read everything straight-forward to this point is still a big revelation because like I said the only thing that the comic really says respect to the virus is describe what it does. People come with that because between updates you guys have time to theorize about it, again this story is straight-forward it wasn't thinked to be analyzed in deep between updates.

So not at all?

>morning Cred Forums
>8:02 p.m

Fuck, that was fast

bump

>People come with that because between updates you guys have time to theorize about it,
Enh, I felt it wasn't a virus the first time it was made obvious someone had mass-shifted. Pretty sure a lot of other people did too.

>story is straight-forward it wasn't thinked to be analyzed in deep between updates.
I'm sorry but with all the foreshadowing and stuff I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. Aaron is very aware he's writing a three-a-week webcomic, I'm sure.

and no /trash/ thread

>but with all the foreshadowing
What foreshadowing? the comic concentrate in the post-apocalyptic situations rather than explain the virus in deep, plus is a fiction story those have many explanations for mass-shifting
>Aaron is very aware he's writing a three-a-week webcomic
That still doesn't mean that he draws every pages knowing how people are going to analyze it back and forth looking for answers.

It's in the booru

>on the edge of a mental breakdown, she harbors thoughts that it was her wish that caused the mutations to happen

literally nervous laughter the character.

>What foreshadowing? the comic concentrate in the post-apocalyptic situations rather than explain the virus in deep, plus is a fiction story those have many explanations for mass-shifting
Well it's a bit meta, but there were those pieces of art of Holly staring moon-eyed at little fishies, for one... then there was the foreshadowing of the supernatural elements of the comic by virtue of the lovecraftian nightmares... I'm also not going to be at all surprised if the scene with Chic and the stuffed toys is highly significant...

>That still doesn't mean that he draws every pages knowing how people are going to analyze it back and forth looking for answers.
He's been here. He's probably still here. He knows.

how long before someone husbandos the Lucranian?

Here's an activity: what ship would you convert into a flying Lucranian salvage vessel?

Bear in mind we are dealing with multiverse, there is no real limit to what you can use. Might not have to be a traditional ship

The Titanic, from a universe where it got wedged into the iceburg instead of sinking.

A pirate ship.

>Well it's a bit meta
Well I'm talking in the comic itself, even those pictures with Holly could have been just mere pieces of art that he later thought it could be added to the plot.
>the supernatural elements of the comic by virtue of the lovecraftian nightmares
Gonna be honest, I don't know exactly what you are talking about. I suppose it's Marx and the other supernatural buddies, yet no one really foreshadowed the virus revelation.
>I'm also not going to be at all surprised if the scene with Chic and the stuffed toys is highly significant
>Bird toy (totally no Chic)
>Put between Rabbit toy (totally no Jacob) and Bear toy (totally no Walter)
Now that is foreshadowing
>He's been here. He's probably still here. He knows.
Still, it doesn't means that he puts every element in the comic like it was some kind of chess game.

>husbanding that thing
whatever who does that has the shitest of tastes

A Tesseract.

Battleship Yamato

A cruise liner. Then convert the bedrooms and shit into multiple themed rooms all based around the ocean. Maybe make it maze-like so that potential passengers will get lost in my mad museum maze.
also throw in a comfy game room for r & r.

My apartment.

Not the whole building, just my room + connecting rooms.

>Well I'm talking in the comic itself, even those pictures with Holly could have been just mere pieces of art that he later thought it could be added to the plot.
I'm putting my money on pretty much everything being significant, sort of eastereggs for people paying attention, even the Great Green and Bathtub pieces which Aaron says aren't necessarily actual canon.

>Gonna be honest, I don't know exactly what you are talking about. I suppose it's Marx and the other supernatural buddies, yet no one really foreshadowed the virus revelation.
The eatbeasts. They always looked like something out of a nightmare or demonic realm, and never felt like something that could originate from a virus to a lot of us. People were saying when Eye turned up that the monsters felt a little less out of place due to that... and then there was the revelation from Aaron that adult consciousness had a lot to do with turning into a monster...

>Now that is foreshadowing
Politcal pawn, do you think, or is he gonna be some sort of child leader that somehow solves everything?

>Still, it doesn't means that he puts every element in the comic like it was some kind of chess game.
It doesn't necessarily mean it, but I'm willing to bet he really enjoys seeing people speculate, though. He seems the type, and I don't mean that negatively or anything. Besides, it's fun, and I bet he knows that...

so... The Arcadia?

any ship?

I can't say I don't like it. But I'm certain Aaron just wrote himself into a corner

There's no way the story isn't gonna lose charm if we go full cosmic.

you seem to be under the impression Aaron makes these up as he goes along.

He has stated in multiple emails and visits to Cred Forums that he's planned Endtown out for the next decade. Now that may sound a but hard to believe, but he's been consistent with this comic since 2009. He says it all makes sense in the big picture, I'll believe him.

bonus: comes with flying skull helpers and the occasional echoing screams of Warp monsters

The only correct answer

It's got the style of adventure and fun, and perfect for people riding solo

>even the Great Green and Bathtub pieces which Aaron says aren't necessarily actual canon.
Pretty sure those are canon and that's what I kinda dislike of them, he just goes and spoils the story thinking that with only saying "lol, no canon" people will just erase those images for their minds
>The eatbeasts. They always looked like something out of a nightmare or demonic realm, and never felt like something that could originate from a virus to a lot of us
There's millions of stories with creatures like that consequence of a virus, have you ever played Resident Evil?
>People were saying when Eye turned up that the monsters felt a little less out of place due to that
How? I don't remember anyone saying that
>and then there was the revelation from Aaron that adult consciousness had a lot to do with turning into a monster.
That was in a email right? When a judge a comic I solely put attention to the comic itself since it should be the work of the story to explain those kind of thing and not the creator throught an email.
>Politcal pawn, do you think, or is he gonna be some sort of child leader that somehow solves everything?
He's gonna decide between Jacob or Walterthe loser dies
>Besides, it's fun, and I bet he knows that...
It's pretty fun to have those kind of disccusion but I still don't see why he would limit himself over that.

...

Give those Topsiders something to panic about.

Well, things can sound better in his head, but not so good on paper

>Pretty sure those are canon and that's what I kinda dislike of them, he just goes and spoils the story thinking that with only saying "lol, no canon" people will just erase those images for their minds
I think they're metaphors. The "Great Green" is the remaining untouched plantlife areas, the tub is the ship they just found. That or the "Great Green" is something afterlifey... it looks supernatural, too...
>There's millions of stories with creatures like that consequence of a virus, have you ever played Resident Evil?
Yes, actually, I have, and the eatbeasts and the comic entire don't give me the same vibe of "it's a virus, ain't gotta explain shit" at all, especially since Aaron seems to like to have explanations for everything, even if they're a little silly. YMMV.
>How? I don't remember anyone saying that
There was a lot of "Ohhh, I bet this guy has something to do with the monsters" and "Yeah the virus always had to be supernatural", IIRC
>That was in a email right? When a judge a comic I solely put attention to the comic itself since it should be the work of the story to explain those kind of thing and not the creator throught an email.
I agree, but the fact of the matter is the emails exist and have been freely available via Cred Forums for a long time...
>He's gonna decide between Jacob or Walter the loser dies
Personally I think he's gonna get caught up in it as a media tool or something. Or it could be a red herring. Wouldn't put that past Aaron either.
>It's pretty fun to have those kind of disccusion but I still don't see why he would limit himself over that.
Not speaking about any limitations, I just think he drops hints so people can have fun guessing, and sometimes people perhaps guess more than he expects. I *suspect* we're about to get a bit more on the "virus", I'll only be mildly disappointed if we don't, like I said...

>There's no way the story isn't gonna lose charm if we go full cosmic.
By that logic, the comic actually lose his charm many arcs ago when Marx was introduced

Y'know, maybe it's a side effect of Amesworth radiation?
Sort of like how cartoon radiation causes mutations and all that jazz, but some people get irradiated juuust right and become muties, some gets irradiated wrong and become monsters, and others get irradiated too much and become ash?

I always thought it is some radiation mumbo jumbo.

There was speculation a while ago that Amesworth works by eroding morphic fields, and that increased (non-lethal) background Amesworth from Apex weapons being used around the world had started damaging human fields to the point where they'd enter a sort of crisis state, either filling in the gaps with garbage data if the subject was awake (monster), or being able to "steal" bits of animal fields if they were asleep (anthro) or drugged (mix-n-match). Not sure why it would be centered on Neitherland, though... maybe there was Amesworth testing going on in Apex labs and that shit was leaking everywhere?

Reverse boat

>There is no Mutagenic virus

youtube.com/watch?v=re7O5q3xuTg

Apex was definitively doing some shady shit with Amesworth research.

It definitely feels like Apex was involved somehow, even if they didn't know it and according to Aaron were as confused about it as anyone...

...

...

So that's what they look like. Well sometimes you gotta do what has to be done...

...

>I think they're metaphors
It could be, I wouldn't go so far to think that everything Aaron does is some kind of 2deep4you commentary tho.
>the comic entire don't give me the same vibe of "it's a virus, ain't gotta explain shit" at all
That could be just your opinion, for me they pretty much looked like your typical failed experiments
>I agree, but the fact of the matter is the emails exist and have been freely available via Cred Forums for a long time...
Still, those things should be addressed in the comic, expecting to be answered in e-mails in a imageboard is just plain bad storytelling
>I just think he drops hints so people can have fun guessing, and sometimes people perhaps guess more than he expects
In that case is not his fault that his readers figure out the plot.

...

Everyone is made of dittos, which torture them by making them look like anthro animals or monsters. Guys in suits havent been devoured by dittos yet.

Maybe it was Jesus the whole time.

And then it turns out that the boat is a born again Christian, and it was still radiation the whole time.

>It could be, I wouldn't go so far to think that everything Aaron does is some kind of 2deep4you commentary tho.
Dunno about "commentary", but, well, no, you look at it one way, I look at it another. That's pretty obvious, and entirely fair.
>That could be just your opinion, for me they pretty much looked like your typical failed experiments
Well, yes. This is pretty much all opinion, right down to the previous cases of people opining that the virus wasn't a virus. It just turned out to be that they were right. I think this was because of good sleuthing coupled with Aaron scattering the info around, but it's entirely possible they were just lucky...
>Still, those things should be addressed in the comic, expecting to be answered in e-mails in a imageboard is just plain bad storytelling
I think all the important stuff is in the comic, the emails are just for people who go looking. I mean, hey, at least Aaron doesn't leave a lot of stuff in Tumblr posts, like Morbi supposedly does...
>In that case is not his fault that his readers figure out the plot.
Never said it was. Just stated I'm hoping for a little more than what we *have* figured out because I'm really interested in the explanation, even if it's more technobabble or metaphysical weirdness...

It has always been rather obvious that this is no ordinary virus. Think about it, topsiders have all sorts of crazy futuristic technology but can't isolate a virus? Also, Holly's flashbacks cemented it even before this.

Just because you're a dense motherfucker it doesn't mean it's not there.

Also HOLY SHIT do you people really have to quote every paragraph?

>it was fucking Marx who kept trying to "Save" the other worlds, and the only way he could was by turning everyone into fucking furries
or
>Marx just wanted his alternate to bang Flask so bad, he created a reality where she exsisted

Fucking Marx

>Also HOLY SHIT do you people really have to quote every paragraph?
Nope.

>he believed it was a virus and not supernatural
You only have yourself to blame.

These images are always really cool.
>trying to design much smaller ship for /tg/ things
>Design outside first
>Place all the really important bits in it
>Pretty much immediately run out of ideas for what to even put in all the empty space left over

Pen user...please just.. stick to drawing cute weeb girls.

Well, of course this was not a ordinary virus, this is a science-fiction story afterall (at least in the beginning) it could have still have a scientific explanation, no longer the case, but there was a possibility. There's no need to get upset.

more payload or fuel, or bays to house all that protruding stuff

How about gators with crippling alcoholism...

that works!

>you will never drink beer from her tits

>at least in the beginning
We've had a magic oracle puddle and a quest for a magic mutated fruit since the 2nd chapter.

Also, the inter-dimensional/reality stuff could still be considered sci-fi since it's supposed to explain that this stuff is not magic, just beyond our comprehension.

I don't think that's how tits work... Unless see gets brought back to life as a horrible cyborg/beer tap known as the Keg-orator Gator

We could justify it as some side-effect of her mutation.

Fat Lucranian hover handing weeb-Roxie when?

>I don't think that's how tits work...

i meant, pouring beer on top of her tits and drink it from below as it leaks in between them.

>actual supernatural forces at work in the background
>is surprised that the magic monster virus is supernatural in nature

As I asked in the last thread before it died, is the ship telling the truth or just fucking with Wally for more of that sweet sweet emotional energy?

>makes a post saying that this new information better lead to superior info because so far its bullshit, but am waiting for development
>dumbass poster comes in saying I need to wait for development

Okay buddy.

Truth. Source?
Aaron is my dad.

Realistically it could be, dramaturgically it would be a bit of a hiccup however.

Just do us all a favor and don't make porn of your own mother like that one guy did for mothers day.

> Come on Allie don't be such a buzz kill. You're alive and there are a bunch of thirsty people. It's a win-win.

Tomorrow, but I need to know what she would be cosplaying as. Any suggestions?

There's not anything that can really indicate that the ship is lying. Tho, it would be funny to see that happen and see how everyone here feels like a retard

Why not both?

Time to de-rail a bit. We need more of these Buddibombs.

They're a real blast!

If the truth is stressful, it's in the ships interest to dispense it eventually.

So the mutation is almost certainly tied with the victim's mental state?

Hmm...

I dunno, Dark Magician Girl and the Lucranian is Bandit Keith?

Aaron's implied as much. Also their understanding of cartoon cliches - apparently someone from one culture wouldn't necessarily mutate into the same type of animal if they were from a different culture.

Dunno.
How would you describe a fetus' mental state?

Nonexistent?

ITT: people who don't know shit about viruses and medicine

Do you really think it's that easy? Please read about the discovery of Legionella pneumophilia or HIV and shut up.

As evident by what?
Thinking transformation by virus possible or impossible in the context of a funny animal webcomic? Get real.

so I was talking to a vidya buddy of mine and I was trying to run by him some vidya concepts.

I know there's an user doing a Endtown game already but I had an idea for an Endtown game that had Roguelike and RPG qualities. Maybe make it CO-OP to get that Don't Starve vibe.
How does that sound?

>Don't Starve vibe

i am actually surprised no one has done custom endtown characters for Don't starve

I'm specifically talking about the guy who is convinced that scientists were 100% sure it was a virus when the outbreak happened instead of just assuming.

Also, that too. The comic's sci-fi is soft but not THAT soft. If these mutations were actually caused by a simple virus it would be a whole deal more unbelieveable.

I'm suprised myself.
I just bought the game a week ago not expecting much but the survival elements are pretty great and I've been heavily addicted. Then came to mind was how great Endtown would be as a Don't Starve clone or something better

its a fantastic game, specially the mp can be really fun experience with friends.

DK. It's on deviantart, easy to find.

I was thinking more along the lines of I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream.

...

A possibly malfunctioning AI, mind
And not even one bound to asimov laws anyway

Lucranian 3 laws:

1. An AI may not cause a loss of profit or, through inaction, allow profit loss to occur.
2. An AI must obey orders given it by its duly appointed captain except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. An AI must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

There's been a lot of stupid theories thrown about, let's try to make a timeline with all the facts we know:

Construction of Endtown is started by Marx and Flask [???]
...
Amesworth radiation (AR) is discovered [Sparkplug flashback]
Apex starts using AR based weapons and bombs on already ongoing wars [Wally flashback]
The effects of AR start being patent: irradiated zones will "dustify" an area over time [Wally flashback]
Soon, everyone gets their hands on AR warheads [Sparkplug flashback]
The first "infected" monsters appear.
Those exposed first hand do not get infected, but monsters are eliminated on sight. [Holly's 1st flashback]
The existence of such monsters is kept a secret by Apex, through bribes and, possibly, death [Holly's 2nd flashback]
Rumors spread anyway [Holly's 2nd flashback]
The first "infected" animals appear, in people that, in theory, neither knew nor met a monster [Holly's 2nd flashback]
The first anthro "infections" appear. Monster, animal and anthro contagions spread like wildfire, as well as panic. The "infection" seems highly contagious now [Holly's 2nd flashback]
Apex starts using measures to contain the epidemic [Holly's 2nd flashback], [Sparkplug flashback]
A counter to AR is made [Sparkplug flashback]
International tension increase, world war ignites and AR bombs go flying [Holly's 2nd flashback], [Sparkplug flashback]
Endtown is now populated by mutant holocaust survivors [Holly's 2nd flashback]
Lucranians arrive, notice life, and leave. Dittos escape [Lucranian ship]
Apex survives the holocaust somehow
The world is heavily irradiated in AR, and dusted
I goes around claiming souls
The "virus" is incredibly contagious, a tiny breach in a suit, even if unknown to the wearer, will be enough

anything that I missed or is wrong?

ss13.moe/wiki/index.php/Guide_to_Silicon_Laws#Corporate

capitalist robots...we truly have gone too far

In the midst of a nuclear war?

>Construction of Endtown is started by Marx and Flask [???]
IIRC that's *implied*, but the one we actually saw happening was an alternate, time-shifted universe and Aaron's said there's no time-travel involved. It's anybody's guess as to how this relates to this Endtown being the only survivor of the Endtown reality spectrum - did this alternate Endtown fail between then and now, or is the computer only talking about Earths that are temporally in sync with each other, and one micrometer down the wavelength chain there's a streak of live Earths having their olde-timey present with the alternate-past-Endtown right in the middle of them, and they're all due to die except for that one Earth?

>Apex survives the holocaust somehow
I think it wasn't so much Apex itself as the NDDC teams subcontracted by Apex, which then became the Topsiders

He's talking to a sideways bathroom scrawl of a dick, balls and vagina

Cannot unsee.

>Endtown being the only survivor of the Endtown reality spectrum

Hold on, you're extrapolating too much.

OUR Endtown is in a small spectrum of planets that were thought to be dead.
There are still millions, probably infinite realities where Endtown exists in some similar shape.

So, the furry god has beaten the human god in a cage match, got the the position of power, and started to fuck with the humans?

Will they have to kill a god now?

...

I dunno, the page immediately previous seems to be suggesting that on every known planet where it happened *except* this one, the third world war killed everything.

So what are our options?

-This one only survived because it's the only one in that streak with an Endtown, Endtown being crucial to survival somehow despite the presence of other communities, and each set of in-sync Zero-war Earths in all the different "steps" of the omniversal timeline only gets one Earth that has an Endtown (which suggests the cycle has been going for meta-years)

-This one is unique among all the Endtowns because it's a "Joker" in the middle of a massive streak of failed Endtowns, and the comic is simply being unclear on how far the streak of dead worlds goes (it doesn't go right to the edges of the "Endtown" streak, it's just long).

-In between seeing that olde-timey alternate and now, all other Endtowns have failed (possibly something seen in Wally's dream).

Any others?

>another Korra

No, you're reading it wrong - yes, there a billions, probably near infinite realities where the world was obliterated, by Amesworth Weaponry, and a survivors bunker called Endtown was also obliterated.

That doesn't mean there isn't more dimensions after that, billions near infinite more realities where A) the world never got destroyed, or B) were destroyed by something other than Amesworth Weaponry, or C) Endtown dosen't exist, D) Endtown exists, but hasn't been wiped out.

Wally's universe is just placed in a band where it SHOULD have been wiped out, that doesn't mean that's all the entire spectrum of Endtowns.

Sounds like option 2 to me.

Simply put, this Endtown is like finding a book labeled "Zygotes in human biology" firmly stuck between the "A-F" shelves

Exactly

Shit shit shit
This could go really well or go horribly

For the quality of the story or for the characters?

>Apex starts using measures to contain the epidemic
I think you forgot to put the events of the Pepcola stadium after that, althought we don't know exactly yet how it happened or how it relates to the population of Endtown

So what could the virus be, then? Do we still suspect some influence from "I"/"Eye", or is this pretty much the ultimate form of mass hysteria, combined with that "You are the thought that thinks itself" stuff from the Marx/Flask shitfest? People being so afraid of turning into monsters/anthros that they actually come to believe 100% that it's going to happen, triggering the change even though they may be asleep, with some unknown law of shapeshifting deciding the whole monster/anthro thing based on the state of consciousness?

That's why I included [Sparkplug flashback]
But I guess [Holly flasback] should go before the panic, since that was a silgthly more covert attempt

If Wally can befriend the ship and collect enough toasters, couldn't he travel to a good dimension with hookers and blackjack?

I remember that in the sparkplug flashback the pep stadium being used as a centre to the infected ones, so, the virus was already knowed at that time right?

yep
so it's mostly concurrent with holly's flashback

So we can say that the Holly's flashback happens some time before that

The other communities were also built by Marx according to Aaron (bummer, I know).

I thought Aaron said he built other Endtowns, up and down the spectrum, not that he built the communities that Endtown has contact with?

I'm guessing the gates are guarded and wouldn't allow it (without a fee).

This made me think... Marx could be a Lucranian criminal that illegaly hops between realities just doing what he wants.

He said that in response to being asked about Unity.

Got a link to or copy of the email in question?

No but, honestly, has anyone ever lied about the stuff Aaron says?

True, especially speaking of Marx I really doubt someone would lie on that

Lied? Not that I'm aware of.

Mis-remembered? A few times.

That human died from terminal stupidity, not from an emotional breakdown.

This.

I love you

was there really marx?
was there ever truly dittos?

absolutely mind boggling.

No offence, Wally, but you've gone insane.

I stopped reading this shit when Marx showed up. The guy is literally a walking plot device, Deus Ex Machina AND Mary Sue, and really it just seems like the author self insert in the story.
Can someone tell me if it was as bad as I thought it was? Did it get worse? Better?

in your sleep

>can you please tell me what to like
>can you please tell if if something is good or not
Get. Ass. Cancer.

>I stopped reading this shit when Marx showed up
You mean like in this arc or in the first time?

its all the ditto's, everything was the ditto's

I don't read this comic, why is that furry hallucinating crudely drawn dicks?

I thought it was just some user being "funny" at first.

Read from the start. It'll make sense when you see the Sue.

No.

I'm not asking that you absolute retard, I'm asking if the comic got out of that shitshow when Marx first showed up since there are like 3 years of content since then.
First time. I just couldn't bare it, it was awful.

It still bothers me that mutants are "anatomically correct" down there. It's so arbitrary, considering that the few times cartoon animals have been drawn with genitals they usually have human parts (ie. Fritz The Cat).

I guess that Aaron wanted another good reason for mutants to suffer Schism Syndrome but it just feels out of place.

Actual demons. The natural course of human evolution. Magic coming back to the world and this is just the painful birth pangs of a new era. "Rays".

>not wanting Jim's anatomically correct bonedick

I really didn't need to hear that.

Aaron was vague about that, though. For all we know, he may just mean that they still got genitals and aren't like cartoon animals that are smooth down under

In that case, while Marx itself was pretty terrible that arc still have some good parts like the Wally flashback and the fight with Flask. That arc is followed by the Flask flashback the quality of that kind of varies especially because Marx is in it, the next arc is really good and Marx appears again then we have another good arc and now we are in this arc that like every arc after the first Marx apparance is still good despite Marx actually appears here TWO times (narrowly)
In resume: just read the comic for the point you let it, believe me it gets better

I swear, the whole "anatomically correct" shit was just a joke that got out of control

>There are actually a hundred fans of Endtown on this topsider facepaint forum

Didn't he confirm it again when people asked about Maude's udder (again)?

>topsider facepaint forum
This is a lucranian facebook page topfaggot

Re-reading that page at this point is giving me all sorts of feelings from EVERYTHING they say.

This scene might as well be considered non canon at this point. Aaron pretty much regrets making a joke/reference about this since, in his own words, he opened a can of worms.

Nonetheless, it's a detail only relevant for the /trash/ general and absolutely irrelevant for the plot.

>when holly was still cute.gif

Reminder that Maude moos in her sleep and so she is cutest waifu.

she probably moo's from pleasure too, when being milked

Underrated post

Shove a casino in there. Cryopods? How about hydroponics.

>at this point is giving me all sorts of feelings from EVERYTHING they say.
No suprise, that little time before the Unity arc started everything was building up for this arc.

Too bad, it was just a little joke that he made that got out of his hands

>it's a detail only relevant for the /trash/ general and absolutely irrelevant for the plot

>This scene is the reason Endtown actually got any measurable attention and fanbase from Cred Forums

Before it, threads would get 10 replies before being archived. Many times pages wouldn't even get posted.
Not even the climax of Flask's arc had such a strong effect.

s...STOP! Don't Bully Jim!

I suppose people like to see a good cucking in action.

According to Aaron it could help almost any case of Schism Syndrome (you can't complain when your new body gets you laid).

Yes, the answer to such a problem is -actual- furries.

Cred Forums's capable of reading a comic for legitimate reasons, but without a hook to catch their attention initially you aren't going to get much response.
There's another quality webcomic that's been around for years, but might finally be getting some attention here thanks to a suggestively drawn wide-hipped rabbit.

>Fucking actually helps people accept themselves and prevents them from schism

>Mallard saved endtown by triggering an orgy

>Wally could have saved Allie by fucking her and keeping her away from the booze

>Kirbee probably got fucked by everyone in the colony and that's why she's always so happy.

Which is...?

...

>>This scene is the reason Endtown actually got any measurable attention and fanbase from Cred Forums
That attracted the cuckfags but you forgot the other, more significant thing.

so Schism is just a term to describe a psychotic breakdown one goes through after the combined stress of turning into an animal and having freaky animal urges in your brain on top of the shock you experience discovering the world you knew is totally gone?

Rolls off the tongue well.

Oh yeah, while the cucking awake the interest Jimgod put it in everyone eyes

Schism is when there is a divide between two opposing sides of some sort.
Its also a pretty cool song.

Are there any canon bats? I think I saw one during the Linda arc.

Yeah i think he's walking with an owl or something

What is it about bad taxidermy that's so great?

found him

I love how this page looks like it's out of an upbeat furry comic except for Linda.

I thought this was an upbeat furry webcomic...

>those koala tits
>that koala butt

Linda is perfect, can't wait for her arc.

...

With the way of how Aaron didn't like how it was becoming too dark it might be an upbeat comic

So was the AI leeching off of Holly directly in this scene? Or was he trying to goad Wally into feeling some kind of emotion?

Zebra Girl, someone made a thread about it a few days ago and it seemed to actually catch some interest.
Or at least one of the characters it's currently focusing on did.

Thanks. Sounds familiar, I'll check it out.

They make for great reactions.

...

I suppose that he was observing Wally since he could control dittos himself he was an "interference" in the process. Then he later treat him as a threat and he tried to kill him or scare him away.

>Zebra Girl
I think i've heard that name before, maybe a check is worth

Why hasn't a ditto AI put the pieces together and just dive into sexual fantasy? That's a lot of easy emotion right there, everybody's already a furry. Or is it emotional "junk food"?

Let's keep cuckery out of these threads

But I like Jim :(

Wait one damn second, first thing this thing told Wally is that they pretty much feed off of suffering.
Now it's telling him that it wasn't a virus, this thing has to be fucking with him so he can eat some more.

I guess that would be asking too much from the dittos unless they're into it.

Kind of hard when an important plot point was caused because of that

Thicc!

As someone said before, it has the same effect if it's true.

I'm not talking about the effect but what is the truth
We can't take this thing words to heart because it just spent a fucked load of time to fucked with the main characters

We'll know for certain tomorrow.

Calling it now, fear and paranoia triggers some mutation via psychic hivemind.

It's been called out before. But i wouldn't be surprised!

trashdump.booru.org/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=1737

Bully? He killed, like, everyone. I mean, as far as payback goes, Jim got his. Wally administered the coup de grace true. Still, Jim must have smoked a few thousand lizards.

And again, I maintain this was an extreme, but nonetheless reasonable and proportional response.

You forgot that it wasn't Jim the one that killed all those lizards, it was a god-like being controlling Jim's body who did that.

Po-tay-toe Po-I WILL GATHER THE SOULS OF MY CHILDREN BACK TO ME IN FIRE AND BLOOD-tah-toe.

I doubt very much Jim was struggling to hard against it though.

Are you having a stroke or what?
>I doubt very much Jim was struggling to hard against it though.
His mind was simply no longer there, but I agreed that he hated the lizards after all there where a buch of assholes

Stating two major pronunciations of potato is a device typically used to connote a trivial difference. However, rather than doing that straightforwardly, to suggest that the distinction you had made was trivial, I added "I" stile rant to try and backhandedly acknowledge that yes there was a difference between Jim and what was controlling him during the murder spree. Basically I may be having a stroke but it's indistinguishable from my normal thought process and sense of humor.

>What a gentleman, not getting cheese flavoid dust all over your costume.

Baby, you know it.

>that arm over Roxie
Truly a gentleman

Penanon's roxie is a total QT! i almost forgot she's canonically a complete bitch.

also, lucranian confirmed manlet

Probably.

>you forgot the other, more significant thing.

Ah yes, bizarre imagary freak out scene fans.

Really trying to think this "virus" thing through...

Would it stand up to physical interaction? I think it might run into issues with there being no way to know what a person "is" until they tell you, either.

I think this one might have issues with interaction, too, especially for the shorter mutants. Not to mention Wally would have detected them.

I would say demons is the most likely out of those, with precedent in Aaron's other works. The human evolution one would be... odd, and "Rays" and magic-automatically-meaning-animal-people would both feel like they came out of left field, although that wouldn't be without precedent for this comic...

Could be something to do with the way people will often take refuge in escapism in times of stress or worry... maybe it's just a matter of animal cartoons being really popular at the time (though I would have expected Aaron to use this flashback to show that), so when the collective unconscious started to go "Fuck this humanity business, let's turn into something cute and funny", cartoon animals were the automatic choice, including stuff that hadn't been seen for ages, like dinos. Doesn't quite explain what happened to the animals, though.

Could it be... animals trying to reincarnate without available host bodies due to environmental degradation? If they possess a person while sleeping, they can merge harmlessly, causing a smoothly-blended shapeshift because memory-of-self includes physical form, as we saw with Flask. If they possess while awake they "fight" with the host, causing a cascade of crazy shape-shifting. If they possess while drugged, they end up just as confused as the host and everything gets distorted... still not sure how that would explain the cartoon rapid healing.

I dunno, the whole Cartoon Animal thing is confusing, because it's ambiguous as to whether or not all the actual animals in the Endtown multiverse were already cartoon stereotypes...

So what about the rapid healing? Are they just imagining they've been injured?

Forgot my pic

#
#

Yes.

#

Pay attention how often they mention their species to each other. Hell, they could be running around with sticky notes saying 'duck' or 'cat but with a nice ass' for the trick to be complete.

It also makes sense in a grander sense. Do you really think the world would care for an outbreak of furry Zika virus enough to destroy themselves for it? But what if a nation spread it's legs so wide for a military industrial complex that the country essentially was owned by a single corporation? What if they were mass hypnotizing it's people and they'd somehow develop unprecedented dysmorphia or outright went berserk? What if this country was amassing non nuclear WMDs so much that launch sites are woven into their civilian cities?

They weren't blown up because they had a not-virus, they got blown up because they were a disease!

Probably, most mutants are shorter so the victims are assuming that since they are shorter they are more fragile as well.

Allie actually survived her gunshots when everyone assumed she was dead. She has been running around Endtown for weeks shouting how she isn't dead, but people believe her dead so they subconsciously ignore her.

They even have invented the 'lush phantom'. It's a spectre that steals beer and shakes people while whispering the haunting words, "I'm not dead you good damn idiots! I'm right here, what is wrong with you people?!"

Next you'll be telling me Unity's still there, as well as Jim (who only thinks he's possessed and is in fact just running around underground ranting with his face smeared with lipstick and his sleeves pulled down over his hands), and all the lizards are wandering around Unity's perimeter "in exile", bemoaning how their place was totally burned to the ground by Topsiders. Who are figments of everyone's collective imagination.

All I see are a bunch of images by AstronautDK. Don't see an actual comic. Am I retarded? Pic related, found on an archive. google image search revealed nothing

If I remember that's all there is. He made some fan art pics too on the side but that's it

How does a baby with no knowledge of the outside world know enough about fish to subconsciously turn into one

Maybe it was actually a fish.

Ah man, what did I miss?

i'll upload it to the trashdump booru

>she can directly funnel her emotions at
There has been any confirmation of that? Like for the moment there's just the possiblity that mutation gets kicked under high stress and you are forgetting how mutation is complety aleatory
