Roxy could have been in the details of his entire life and adventure, and vice versa, leaving their meeting at the very end feel actually significant and kind of endearing in an RPG ending way. Like the protagonists of two games meeting at the cross roads of the end and realizing how happy they were to meet.

What was the point of making LE a fusion of Caliborn, Arquius, and half of Gamzee? LE stopped acting anything like Caliborn, but he also doesn't act like Arquius and only follows Gamzee as far as honking and violently murdering people.

Arquius was required to provide a proper genetic basis for Doc Scratch from within Lil' Cal because two inanimate objects by themselves don't account for his personality. He tossed Gamzee in for the hell of it due to LE's seemingly spontaneous birth honks.

Did any of you guys watch that stupendously long wrestling thing with the Homestuck cast

It legitimately is a fantastic ending to the series

Somewhere in the following broad ballpark, demarcated along the lines of:

a) Hussie wanted to reference all the ridiculous theories of LE origins while still eating the cake of having him be an original character, so he created Caliborn and then had him absorb other personalities

b) Hussie needed to characterise Doc Scratch, and leave it ambiguous for a while so people would think it was Calliope or something daft. Popular theories about Roxy's unused bottle of ectobiological Rose slime abounded for a long time - BKEW started the idea that the severed magenta command prompt orb would be mixed with Rose DNA to make a narrator-esque crystal ball with seer of light powers or something daft like that.

c) Hussie le horses ahahah ZAHHAK lel irony think it over... HONK

d) Tie Bro and Lil Cal in more closely with Cal's nature as LE's larval state. This probably became more of a deal whenever Hussie started moving towards treating Bro as abusive.

Gamzee's dualistic nature, alternating fondness for sneaky humour and murder-rage, are pretty pronounced aspects of LE.

It's honestly amazing that Hussie put so much thought into LE and all related characters up through the end of the comic, long after he'd abandoned any pretenses of caring about literally any other character in the comic.

In fairness, I didn't care about any other character in the comic by the end of it, either.

Ultimately the trouble is a question of length-over-interest. Even if the list were a sprawling 3-volume epic, it would be worth it given the knowledge that there'd be discussion waiting to happen in its wake. Well I don't know if you are, but their idea interested me. They stated something about a rumor for a song, a different alternative song for the ending, the ending of Homestuck that was floating a while back, as in a couple months or even further down the road before [S] Collide or the End of Act 7 finally hit. I wasn't really snooping around these threads much but apparently it was posted often and somewhere to the length of (12-18) minutes, noted the near exact page where Homestuck would end (Give or take a few) and had riffs of Cascade, Showtime, Doctor and some other motifs sort of mixed in. It was later confirmed a fake or so they said by the music team or something, but here's the kicker it only happened days before the finale was posted. Wouldn't something such as a popular fake or rumor be confirmed as fake a lot sooner by the popular musicians, despite having Homestuck motifs and being extremely long?

I don't know if that's true or not, but user's theory was, Hussie had an entirely different vision, both planned and semi-executed for the ending but, either a life crisis or some drama behind the scenes, SOMETHING lead him to change his plans. The song was intended to be for Homestucks end, but due to it falling through Collide and the animation he'd commissioned 3 years ago (Already complete, but not integrated) were improvised a bit to fill it's place. He must've had the music team dismiss the abandoned song to throw off any suspicion that it was originally the collaborative song planned for Homestucks real end.

In other words, there's an ending out there of Homestuck, unfinished, with uncompleted, uncomplied assets, that was never finished and abandoned part-way through. We've seen how fickle and likely the author is with his projects like Hiveswap, changing creative decisions, wasting resources and progress. Would it really surprise anyone if this theory turned out to be correct?

Betel is Hussie's long-time collaborator from back during the days of the Gangbunch Fora, and has been a part of his operation ever since. It's never been clear if there was ever a relationship between them, but there's certainly strong evidences of affection in photographs, Andrew's one depiction of Betel in illustration and general manner. A number of Huss fans used to speculate that Betel was a negative influence on him for the same reason that there's always a small group to do this, and it's pretty unfounded. Betel posed for the shirts and hoodies in the What Pumpkin store, and was a high-ranked mod on the MSPA forums.

Softowl, aka Rachel Rocklin, was (and maybe still is) Hussie's girlfriend. He met her as a fan of Homestuck. She very quickly integrated herself into the machinery of What Pumpkin and became the head PR woman, merchandiser, master of PXS and other outlets. Rocklin is known for immature outbursts, moderately obnoxious SJW-ish opinions and utter hypocrisy about marketing goods and brands. She is an amature writer with a distinctly derivative prose style, and has done weak illustrations of homestuck characters. Around a certain point in Act 6, the quality of Homestuck's writing and illustrations deteriorated, especially the themes and consistency of the story's overarching nature, which a firm portion have attributed to Softowl's influence. It's not even implausible that Softowl actually directly took over writing and (occassionaly) illustrating portions of the late comic. She is firmly disliked here.

IPGD is a girl who does some fan illustrations and writing and stuff. She did the Davepeta/ARquius hug drawing and Eridan+Shrek doodle, among possibly a few other small assets, that appeared in the comic. She also wrote a fic where most of the Homestuck cast watched Boku no Pico, a notorious shotacon, together. IPGD is, and has become all the more so recently, personally close to Hussie. She is the main source of photos, videos and quotes

Summarising it in one pithy sentence is both impossible and unproductive. The broadest summary in simple language possible is that the characters lose the consistency of their attitudes, start caring about forced SJW issues, and, like, end every sentence interrogatively? When it even doesn't belong?

Fan theory does not mean wrong, by the way. The only things to consider are a) does evidence fit and b) does it make assumptions. So few assumptions are even made in the Rocklin-ghost-writer hypothesis, it's actually modestly plausible. She was in exactly the place to do such a thing, had a strong motive, and the evidence aligns with her writing style and pet issues.

Oh, I've heard of Cerebus Syndrome. The artist realised he wanted to portray a different message with the work. Completely different from a total value change, change in prosaic style, and especially art. ESPECIALLY in the context that Homestuck has pretended to be the same comic it's always been.

Earlier some anons claimed that the comic now matched Rachel's distinctive prose and art style apparently. I've honestly never seen any of her writing or art so I cannot really comment on that. I never even knew she could write/draw until this thread. (Only thing I've seen her write is Paradox Space comics which are so generic they wouldn't pass for anything recognizable in Homestuck, not distinctive writing-wise) The entire assumption that just because the webcomic changed when he happened to be dating someone itself because of the very fact seems pretty ungrounded.

No, in the most literal sense of the usage, that is to say the actual Cerebrus comic the usage is justified. The art style, prosaic and direction is different enough that one could assume they're separate works, or the author had multiple personality syndrome.
