Bad.

Like someone who read Moore's Miracleman but got it on a superficial level.

Not as good as it could be

they will be black and it will star Jaden Smith and Shazam into Will Smith

that's Shazam, OP

he hasn't been called Captain Marvel at any point in your lifetime

not op but

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Marvel_(DC_Comics)

>Captain Marvel, also known as Shazam

So, basically the same thing Snyder did to Watchmen.

Well at least he cant fuck batsons parents to badly.

Id actually unironically watch that

Just another movie to attract Cred Forums shitposters.

I'd rather Hancock 2

He was calling op underage b&...

Billy lives in a run down area in detroit
His sister Mary has turned to prostitution so she can pay for the drugs she gets from "Dr Sivana"
The old dealer who used tio run their patch, called "The Wizard" offers Billy an experimental drug called Shazam that will give him Superpowers but fucks up his perception of reality
Billy then goes to fight Sivana and he sees everything in the style of the 1940's Captain Marvel comics
Sivana uses his own drug called mazahs
The fight goes into a zoo just so we can see Tawny smoke a pipe in a cage
The whole city gets destroyed in the fight

The end

Yeah, I know. Wikipedia is wrong, who'd have thought?

First up that article should be located at Captain_Marvel_(Fawcett_Comics) according to Wikipedia's own guidelines, because that was the place he enjoyed his first prominence and greatest success; secondly, since this is an article talking about the character after he was bought by DC Comics (he was licensed from Fawcett for reprint in 1972, and bought outright along with the rest of Fawcett's back-catalog in 1977), it cannot refer to "Captain Marvel", which is a trademark that DC Comics has never owned nor had any prior claim to; when that trademark lapsed (because DC had forced Fawcett out of publishing in 1953), Marvel Comics registered it without opposition (something that went nicely with having called themselves Marvel for several years by that point).

Even the live-action show DC produced with the rights in the 1970s was about Shazam; because they don't own the Captain Marvel name, and have no character by that name in their catalog. Even in-universe, any references to "Captain Marvel" now refer to another universe which is principally composed of Fawcett Comics characters and stories, to which DC has the reprint rights; but they can't even reprint those old Captain Marvel stories as Captain Marvel titles, because they never bothered to acquire the name, just the character when they decided they wanted to get into an endless pissing match where they were in the wrong and couldn't possibly hope to win.

Just like you, user.

Nerd~

the more you know, also wasnt even trying to win, but nice to be corrected, cuz i knew his as shazam more than capt marvel,

good to know

That's clearly Darren Aronofsky's Shazam circa Requiem of a Dream.

With the exception of Michael Bay, I can't offhand think of a director more poorly suited to the rĂ´le than Snyder.

I saw someone suggest Steven Spielberg in a previous thread, but Spielberg's schmaltzy approach would be quite as bad for the character as the posturing machismo of Bay or the bombastic dourness of Snyder. The old Beck / Parker stories were dreamy, fanciful, and lighthearted, but they were never wetly sentimental.

Billy would probably be an emo that slashes his wrists constantly.

crap on a stale, rotting cracker

Pretty much Clash but with Black Adam for Superman. Also, a wider range of destruction.

Also, more references to Billy's mom. Such as how Black Adam's minion threatened her or how she's held as a hostage. And Billy's dad would be killed by a lightning bolt.

kino

>buying into the name change bullshit

Terrible

Billy is molested, he invents a fantasy superhero persona to escape the trauma.
