that's like saying food isn't a renewable resource, a lot of fruit trees take years before they can produce. You just stay away from clear cutting so it can grow in again, as I mentioned.

But once a fruit tree is grown, it can be productive for practically the entire year in the right climate. It's 10~ years investment for decades of constant productivity. A lumber tree by definition is productive exactly once.
