Blaster Nation

So it's over now, we have what amounts to a complete package.

What are your thoughts?

We were mentioned in the credits, that's kind of special.

Also Hi Brad!

it's over? what the hell, how did it end? It had only just gotten to what felt like a midpoint

>backtrack a few pages
>literally nothing has happened since the last time i checked to see what had happened since the last time i checked to see what had happened since I quit the comic because of terribly-paced sudden lesbian shenanigans, except a timeskip (?) and rinnie is now inexplicably moving out. like six pages devoted to that. then it ends
apparently i needn't have even quit, it just ended on its own
oh well rock cocks is top quality

It sucks that it's over, but it was a fun time. Plus stuffs gettin revealed like Dan's job. Plus Brad's been doing qa revealing all the good secrets, trashed plot ideas, and what was under Jenny's dress all along.

Boring pablum that nobody would read if it wasn't "sexy".

They stopped it to work on their porn comic.
>Blaster Nation Forever
>Forever

irony

>what was under Jenny's dress all along.
I wonder what kind of person would want to know

>Blaster Nation Forever
is that a thing they said at some point?

i tell you what, all I ever wanted was blaster nation porn. the first version of rock cocks had distinctly different art, and it was gross and bad and we all hated it. so they revamped it, now it looks great!
... but it still looks different from BN, which is so unnecessary. plus it seems like it probably takes much longer to render at this level, and i'd rather have more pages. am I alone there? I mean the content is spot on, exactly the kind of shit we wanted.

As far as i know there will be another SFW comic from Brad and Leslie.
Hope to see some references about Blaster Nation .

I sure as fuck won't be reading it if it has trannies in it

I'm still pissed that Ash got Rinnie. Not because I wanted AshxMatt, or Ashx(InsertNameHere), or because "MUH LESBIAN PANDERING".

No, I'm pissed because I don't think Rinnie did enough to redeem her character. She didn't deserve that ending because she didn't work hard enough for it, or change enough for it, and it all feels rushed because of it.

I mean, I was okay with the adorable awkward crushing going on. It was just a sheltered girl not understanding her feelings of sempai admiration.
Then just.. let's drop that and skip ahead to something nonsensical. Then skip to the end.

Man, I was so defending Jenny as just a regular cool guy with cool hair and a unique dress sense and everyone should just like him for who he is, not try to imply he's being a girl by being himself, but at the same time be understanding if the name threw people off or something.
But apparently that's not the kind of openmindedness we have now. We have the kind where you have to be something you're not, instead. Fuck me.

Look on the website, it's in the banner.
I like The Rock Cocks, but I feel like Blaster Nation is closer to them and their experiences and so it had more life to it, more believabilitly (excusing completely the closeness to me as a reader, as I'm certainly no rock star). I care for the characters more and find them more interesting and deep and frankly more fun. Blaster Nation was really interesting and could have easily elevated to being top tier comic imo.

It just sucks, I was worried when TRC started that it would spell the end for Blaster Nation, and Brad kept on assuring us that it wouldn't, but I'm an artist too and I know how hard Leslie works so I figured it was only a matter of time before it ended or went on hiatus...it's just....why.....

Porn makes more money than slice of life whatever, and Brad said that they're both really passionate about TRC, so I'll be reading it but lamenting softly over the loss of Blaster Nation.

Also Brad if you're around, you and Leslie are two of my idols; I watched you guys grow through the course of the comic and have learned so much by watching you. Thank you for putting yourselves out there. Maybe one day soon I will too.

Yeah I just thought Jenny was like an Eddie Izzard type person, comfortable with his gender identity but liked dressing as the little girl. I don't really care though, she wasn't a big character and now we won't really get the chance to see any more development there.

I didn't see anything girly at all, I just saw a manly-as-fuck man in a kilt. Like probably one of the top manliest in the cast, granted a cast of mostly twigs and berries
since when does porn make money though? you can't use normal advertisers. Everyone i hear says you can only make money when you paywall it, that's their excuse for not doing it at least.

I liked Blaster Nation way more than TRC. Bummer.

>but I feel like Blaster Nation is closer to them and their experiences and so it had more life to it, more believabilitly (excusing completely the closeness to me as a reader, as I'm certainly no rock star)

This so damn much. This is why Logan's arc was my favorite arc. It was the first time in the comic I could really sit back and and realize, "This is like real life. These are real characters". Not even Matts shenanigans could give me that feeling, as in the end, no matter how much I self-identified with him, weeb fuckups living normie lives is as much of a fictional trope as it is a reality.

They're doing it through/with Slipshine so I'm assuming that they're getting money from it somehow, even though it's still free to read.

Porn makes more money through paywalls, a lot of money. I wasn't even thinking about advertising, which you're absolutely right about, but advertising isn't the only revenue possible with webcomics.

Also if you think Jenny was manly as fuck then I suggest you go back and read again. The only thing manly was that facial structure imo.

How was Matt's life normie? He was NEET through basically the entire comic. He went on a single date that didn't go well, and otherwise spent all day in his room browsing the internet and playing vidya.

Perhaps I shouldn't have used the word life. It implies he was one of those people who only secretly like neet/nerd things. It's obvious how he chooses to spend his life.

What I'm trying to convey here is that, underneath his hobbies and poor life choices, he's a rather normal person. He's the kind of guy who leaves the house to hang out with friends, as we've seen before multiple times. He's also the kind of person willing to take risks, as we've seen with him selfishly joining the military, even if it was just fixing electronics on humanitarian missions. And he's also concerned with things like his future lot in life, even though he's too lazy to pursue it vigorously.

You see what I'm saying? He's not some captain autismo we see on 4k9 or v. He's the kind of guy who could hold a job, and socialize without sperging out.

I do see what you're saying, but I still would hardly call him a "normal" person. I see him getting a job out of the necessity to do something with his life/break away from his father, and though he does have more of a social life than a lot of robots that doesn't make him and less socially awkward or beta.

Sad to see it go, but if it means more Rock Cocks I'm fine with it. It's obvious that's their favorite project to work on.
At least we got some decent Ash smut out of it.

Did he fuck the redheaded tranny?

no

There's one in BN too?

Dammit
Well she was man faced and when asked the comic creators would never say for certain. Someone made an edit a long while back but they never finished it

My issue with TRC is the setting.

I find the music band plot boring. I can give two fucks about the music industry, and I think nothing but cliches can be made out of a story like that.

Of course this is entirely on my side, I assume some people like that kind of setting but I cannot get behind the story about some who-cares band members with music you can't even hear.

So far the sex scenes have been good, but they have been very few and kinda short, which wouldn't be so bad if there was a plot in the middle that was engaging. Sadly this is not.

I really want to like TRC but Brad and Leslie better fulfil that promise of focusing more into this now that BN is over cause the webcomic needs a LOT of help.

a-at least it's pretty, right?

I can see Leslie reaching new heights artistically, she's really coming into her own.

I kind of agree with you though, I can easily see this becoming some clichéd nonsense. The bringing sexy back plot is interesting for a porn comic imo but it does seem to be a bit slow moving. That's probably an issue more with serialization than with pacing though.

Would engage me more if the characters weren't so dull. Steg and Sauria aren't by any chance BAD, but compared to a single main Blaster Nation character they are have like 0.1% character in comparison.

Steg is nothing but a "Oooh he has a secret" and "He is gay". Elizabeth is a cutie but barely has any screentime; And our "villain band" are bare-bones as fuck, specially with their boss having a "ooh a mysterious past with Steg" but it's gonna take us a fuck ton of time to learn and probably be cliche as all fuck.

This is what I see:
>Let's make a music video arc
>Generic battle of the bands arc
>Moping arc where their music ain't selling
>Generic arc where one of the protags is swayed to go solo.

If they can come up with more original plots I welcome it. But so far it doesn't look like it.

Agreed. Again aesthetically I think their designs stand out, at least for Steg and Suria, but personality-wise they don't really scream originality to me in the same way that some of the BN peeps did.

Time will definitely have to tell where this comic goes.

I meant Stern on the later lines, fuck.

Damn. There goes one of my favorite webcomics. Anyone else know of any slice of life comics that have even a tenth of the soul put into Blaster Nation?

Sucks that it's ended the way it did, but I hella liked it

Do you remember the last page that they'd made when you first found the comic?

>Steg and Sauria

I don't know how but I need a nigga to draw this Mesozoic lifeform

In seriousness I agree with you and the others. The whole thing with Blaster Nation was taking stereotypical nerds and assholes and taking them off down neat roads

Here they're doubly restricted by having to keep it pretty consistently about music, and also having to draw porn every so often because it's a goddamn porn comic

So far I solidly say fuck this villain grill and I hope Brad and Leslie figure out how to hold our interest with this one
