Heroes For Hire v2 Storytime (Part 4)

Welcome back Anons! Time to finish up the Heroes For Hire!

Wrong cover, but at least that'll get people's attention!

...

...

Weirdly enough, despite the premise of "Hulk wrecking New York", fairly few series actually ended up tying into this event. Ant-Man, this, and The Iniative are the only ones I know. Everything else just got a mini.

...

>the legendary cover
I don't have words

Oh.

Well then.

Oh hey, whatever happened to this Scorpion?

We'll get to that issue eventually, it just isn't THIS issue. Believe me, I'll let you know when we get there.

Okay, the fuck is with this guy's cheeks?

She was mentioned to be killed in a throwaway line in Secret Wars. Killed by a Nico in the Greenlands gladiatorial games.

Don't worry Anons, you'll see more of Paladin.

That's alternate universe versions though, I meant the 616 one.

Okay, so going by this second panel, Colleen's showing off more cleavage than freaking Black Cat.

He was clearly napping in the proximity of a prankster with a pen

And now Humbug is going nutty again.

>going by the second panel
OP are you okay?

I'm presuming that random black line there is supposed to be like we're looking at them inside one of the buildings out the window, since the last panel has them there too.

So are Shang-Chi and Colleen the only people who actually like Humbug in this series?

Credit where it's due, she's at least TRYING something other than "kill the thing."

AND THEN THERE'S THIS ASSHOLE!

...

>"We must follow them home."

Oh, this is a GREAT plan, Humbug...

And for the next few issue, Scorpion stars in the backup.

...

>"Make sure you're not followed."
>"As if."
>foot already there

...

...

>a six-barreled rifle

OH SHIT! Anons, remember this stupid thing from Luke's Power Man solo?

...

Cockroach Hamilton's?

>"Two-Hands will fight the Iron Man soon."

Just to give you an idea when this is all taking place.

>Colleen still hugging Moon Boy like he's a damn teddy bear

By the way, I've read Moon Girl since we last read this series. Moon Boy seemingly died in the first issue.

>she even covers his eyes

Good memory, user!

>Shang-Chi taking the time to be polite to the invading bug-aliens

So I'm probably going to have to buy his solo Omnis to see more awesome Shang-Chi.

Uh oh.

...

Aw man, Shang-Chi's bug friend hates him now...

So does ANYONE in these actually end up having a good showing against the Warbound?

...

Misty said it best.

...

>Doesn't end with "Mines Bigger."

Come the fuck on.

Scorpion is not a witty lady, user. Now, if PALADIN were the one with the massive gun, it would be a different story...

Sorry for the delaying Anons, I added a few more files for the storytime that we'll get to in a few months.

...

DAMN IT, YOU TRAITOR!

>"He named it 'Josh'."

>Paladin is fine with just fucking off with the Alchemy gun

I guess Carr finally stopped making more of the freaking things.

Why is SHIELD keeping a bunch of supervillain tech in some random basement in New York, and not somewhere, you know, AWAY from all the superhuman activity? I doubt they'd think to look in the middle of Kansas, for instance.

What kind of villain name is "Melter"?

>"How dumb do you have to be to invent a gun that turns things into gold... then go rob banks with it"

Literally the CW Golden Glider.

Remember that time Turk stole the Stilt Man armor? Apparently SHIELD kept it.

I dunno, it was one of the HEROES that made the gold-gun, and it's not like he's ever seen having money problems...

And THIS is the issue with the infamous cover.

she's pretty hot

As I'm sure you can tell now.

Go away Humbug, you filthy traitor.

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

Humbug, you dick!

...

Poor bluff, Colleen.

And skipping the recap.

...

You did that on purpose this was the first 2d image I ever jerked off to

I meant #13 on that spoiler by the way

Maybe...

Okay, I totally did, I thought it would get more people in the thread.

>Elements of Doom

To my knowledge, these guys were only around in Busiek's run of Thunderbolts.

>his eyes in the last panel

Oh wow, that was fucked up.

The way this artist draws women I want to fug them all

>blonde haired Colleen

This shit is probably why you're unlikely to find as many people bitching about Colleen's actress in the Netflix show not having her hair color. Because the fucking books can barely be bothered to keep her hair consistent.

...

The fuck?

Maybe she tried a different dyer?

...

What a glorious cover this was. Made WWH worth it as an event.

Ah, I remember the shitstorm this perverted cover caused, good times.

Tell that to all the people in the last thread.

Oh? Do tell.

He's fishing, nothing actually happened.

...

>"General Ross has been defeated."

Another timeline update.

There was backlash in some "news"(glorified blogs) articles and on forums, however much more minor compared to nowadays as social media wasn't as big a thing.

...

Apparently Black Cat developed a thing for Paladin? I dunno, he seemed like a dick around her, aside from when he dressed her wounds, and she was unconscious for that.

...

Wait, her glove shoots lasers now?

>that shit eating grin in the last panel

>Moonboy reaching for the skies

...

>It took a whole team to resuscitate me

Lying.

I didn't want to mention it, in fear it would bring in those stupid fucking Harambe jokes.

>Paladin outright admits he was screwing them over

I really like this scorpion chick
Her costume is p cool too
Does she ever show up again anywhere else

You know how you can tell Paladin's lying? His mouth is open and words are coming out.

Why is Felicia so tsundere

Apparently she was a Hulk character. No idea if she's shown up since, nobody else has mentioned if she did.

Oh great, they gave Humbug a cape.

>Theres a character named Paladin
>Hes a lying, scumfuck traitor and villain

What a waste of an excellent name.

I think it's supposed to be ironic. He's literally a Paladin in name only.

Yeah, this was still almost 10 years ago. It was a really different world.

It's certainly a different dynamic than she has with Peter.

...

And you thought he was ugly BEFORE.

Last issue of the series, Anons!

>even Moon Boy is freaking out

>Apparently she was a Hulk character. No idea if she's shown up since, nobody else has mentioned if she did.

She's actually supposed to possibly be Banner's daughter via Monica Rappanucci (from AIM) during a college fling they had. Don't remember the last time she showed up, but I wish she was used more and that it would be confirmed that she's Banner's daughter or not. Maybe get into sibling adventures with her half alien brother and that redhead test tube sister.

>Humbug vs. half the damn team

>Maybe get into sibling adventures with her half alien brother and that redhead test tube sister

You forgot to mention the test tube sister is from the future.

Comics are weird sometimes.

...

>he actually managed to tag the Master of Kung Fu

...

Ugh. He's been a money-driven asshole every time they met, he tried to betray Captain America, AND he openly admitted to ogling Felicia while unconscious. This doesn't inspire "I-it's not like I like you or anything!" reactions in women. It inspires repeated dick kicking. If they HAD to have a Black Cat/Paladin romance, they could have at least made it mutual appreciation of money and mercenary motives. They had common ground there. Instead we got "Hah, you love me!" "No, I don't!" grade school bullshit.

>"I put a radioactive isotope in your food on the way to the Savage Land."

Yeah, Paladin is definitely a bastard.

There's a reason the only comment I made on the matter was basically "wait, that was a thing?"

>"How many years have I been here?"

Oh Colleen, you poor woman...

...

I was expecting Humbug to chicken out and tell the maggots to leave Tarantula and Colleen be.

...

I like Humbug, he originates from this arc?

Yeah, he let them have it. Remember, he LIKED Colleen, and he still let them torture her.

Apparently he was an old Spider-Man villain.

First appearance was in Web of Spider-Man #19

Oh yeah, remember "the hive-mind of earth"?

>"You will live but you have been sterilized."
>"The 'humbug' is poisoned. He and your progeny are doomed."

...

And you thought he w-

Wait, I already used that bit. FUCK!

>Shang-Chi back without saying a word

>Moon Boy sleeping against Colleen

This is going exactly where it looks like, isn't it Anons?

Man, and Misty was going on about how it's been a while since SHE went on a date, and here Colleen is getting teary eyed over Moon Boy.

>that last bit with Paladin and Black Cat

Seriously, if they were trying to make those two a thing, they're really bungling it up at every turn.

>"I didn't mean to hurt Colleen. I didn't want to hurt her, Shang. I tried to give them the mean one. That tarantula girl."

...

And that's it for Heroes for Hire's second volume Anons.

Kind of a sad ending, I admit, but the last series didn't end much better.

See you tomorrow afternoon, where we go back in time a few years to when Civil War was starting, and go back to New Avengers.

Honestly, it's starting to remind me of Joker / Harley. "Oh, he didn't mean any of those horrible things!"

We can really blame Humbug?

Colleen's jumper is ripped in all the wrong places.

>this cover is drawn by a woman
Based Nippon with it's superior female creators.

Ah dang, I missed the last two threads completely.

...
