It's from the episode Heartburn. Grim had a camera that showed a person's true self when taken a photo of. Mandy's true self was a horrible monster, but when they took Irwin's photo, the picture split. Half was normal Irwin, the other half was a monster exactly like Mandy's. The moment Mandy discovered this she became sweet and goofy, comoletely falling for Irwin until he snapped her out of it.

People liked her at first because she started off cute and endearing. Once season 2 rolled around however, it became clear that she stagnated as a character. Almost all of her episodes were either the exact same romance thing or some downright terrible shit, and because of this her quirkiness was really starting to get old. Then once the show actively white-knighted for her despite her increasingly destructive behavior, it was clear she was beyond redemption. Or at least, that's the impression I got browsing /gfg/ since it started.

this we watch dipper make sacrifices and accept change and loss, but not Mable, NEVER Mable. She even got to keep waddles "flowers for argenon" tyson.

yeah it combines many of the things I like best in older Mandy designs, a thicc but not fat physique(with a touch of visible muscle), voluminous hair(although it could be bigger there), and striking attractive facial features(without being dainty), especially the plump lips, which are probably my favorite part of this design(and is something more older Mandy designs need, as it counterbalances the "no nose" aspect of her design)
