Storytime - The Big Book of Urban Legends [1994]

Urban legends as told by your favorite comic book artists. Get in here!

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

Finally legends.

...

...

...

...

...

I wonder will they put that Telly Savalas' ghost story.

...

...

...

kek

...

...

...

...

...

Fucking corporations.

...

...

...

...

...

...

Ouch.

...

Favorite "Big Book" title?

Weird Wild West, Thugs, and Martyrs were mine. Urban Legends was probably fourth.

...

This was actually published by DC.

Can you imagine a major publisher putting out something like this now?

I'll be right back.

I had no idea there are more.
Or that it's published by DC.

...

...

Come on, that's hardly fair to the nun.

Is posting slow for anybody else?

Used to be I'd knock out two posts per minute.

There's 17

70s
Bad
Thugs
Martyrs
Scandal
Urban Legends
Conspiracies
Weirdos
Unexplained
Freaks
Losers
Little Criminals
Death
Weird Wild West
Hoaxes
Vice
Grimm

...

...

Yeah, they screwed up something. Posts with images are minute long.
Looks like I have something to read. I love things like this.

...

Something fucked up around the same time the hats went up. Cooldown between posts is now at 60 seconds even WITH an image. It presumably is a glitch, though no one has made an official statement so we don't know for sure if it's intentional or not.

Oddly enough it seems to be fixed on /s/ and nowhere else.

Well shucks. At least I have nothing else planned for the next three hours.

I heart anthologies too.

Some of them are kind of shit, but at least half of them are decent and a few are really solid.

...

...

Wonder is there Darwin Awards comic. Did you guys see the movie? It had Mythbusters as weapon dealers.
As long as I have fun, it doesn't matter.

...

...

RIP doggo ;-;

...

I'd personally recommend avoiding 70s, Bad, Scandal, Vice, and Freak, unless you're REALLY into any of those themes. Those were the only ones I'd call outright shit.

The rest are probably all worth checking out.

...

I'll be right back.

I'd be the most interested in Conspiracies, Hoaxes, Weird Wild West, Unexplained and Grimm. Rest if I read, I read.

...

...

...

...

...

...

That's actually a pretty solid selection. Conspiracies is probably the second most popular after this one. Unexplained is written by the same guy and is more or less and unofficial sequel to Conspiracies. Grimm is also really well done and is based on the original ultra-morbid versions of the Brothers Grimm stories. Weird Wild West was one of those things where I ended up enjoying it way more than I expected I would. Really interesting stuff. And Hoaxes is essentially what you'd expect. I'd put it at about the middle of the pack overall. Not GREAT, but potentially well worth reading.

...

...

...

...

...

...

Thanks senpai. It's just similar to stuff I used to read as kid. Conspiracies, lost treasures, ghosts and aliens, oh my!
I should go to /x/ one of these days.

Conspiracies is great because it was written by Doug Moench who's really big on conspiracies.
