I for one, really like the new animation style. RWBY's biggest downfall was how ugly the animation was in previous volumes. People don't realize that the show's saving grace was how well done the choreography was, but artstyle wise, a lot of stuff really didn't look good, and character's faces didn't express a lot of emotion outside of the voice acting (which was also really good.)

This new animation style really does look nice and much more professional and makes it so the quality of the show isn't entirely carried by the fights and the characters. I'm very looking forward to it. I'm super excited to see where they go with Jaune, especially considering it looked like he may have been carrying Pyrrha's shield.

Man, the new footage really does make the Red trailer look like an MMD video.

The only thing I find better about the old one is that Ruby uses the weight of Crescent Rose to her benefit much more than she has recently, I think. Seeing her stand on it and incorporate its obviously significant weight into her fighting style is what made that trailer so interesting.

There was a similar moment like that in the first episode, when she plants its blade in the pavement and vaults herself around it to kick Roman's goon in the face. That shit was so good.

That's not really anything strange when you consider the anime artsyle. It's just natural that the younger characters have larger eyes than adults.

Only real issue is that the timeskip was only a few months, so having such a change happen between then and now is a bit odd; But it's barely noticeable, so meh.

It doesn't really matter because the frigate can just stay in orbit and bomb shit, and Dust doesn't even work in space so they'd have exactly zero options to deal with that.

Destroying it as in "ripping into pieces" would be hard. The treads are comparatively easy to wreck though, and only the armor on the frontal arc and turret armor is stupid tough.

It'd also be difficult for Tanks to reliably both hit and hurt extremely tough human-sized targets that can move as fast as cars.

and there are a lot of animation & production value improvements in this trailer which reflect that. it's obviously not pixar quality, but it boggles my mind that anyone can watch this and not think it's a definite improvement over their previous work.

yes monty's choreography was good, but not nearly good enough to carry the Red trailer out of MMD tier. the camera work is way too robotic and obviously amateur, the beowolves are super janky and literally slide around, and he obscured the climax of the action with a series of obnoxious jump cuts, speed lines and off-screen violence. there are individual movement sequences in there for Ruby that are good (like cartwheeling and landing on the haft of CR, beheading grimm with CR's recoil, etc) but most of the individual smaller movements that comprise them are also much too smooth and direct/robotic.

monty had a good eye for the larger picture of his animations, but finer details were lost on him. Most of the problems I mentioned are also obvious throughout the early volumes, too.

I wouldn't be surprised. They've already got several other big anime VAs like Vic and Yuri, all they need is JYB and Steve Blum and it's a collection.

She was always the most upbeat and smiling of the team besides Ruby, so seeing her so depressed is just painful.

Shirou also wouldn't be able to nullify Ea but Gil never uses that unless he fights seriously, which is why the series can go the way it does or else Gil would be the ultimate cleaner when he wipes everything every time he fights.

Grimm are dangerous, but they can be contain. The existence of major cities proves this. If say Atlas were to bomb your city, suddenly containing those same grimm become a lot harder. The other kingdoms can't afford to take peace for granted. A surprise attack could destroy them overnight even without nukes.

I'm not saying war is inevitable, but it will be on everyone's mind. The world's #1 priority is to sort out exactly what went down in Vale which means Ironwood answering a lot of questions. I don't think it's impossible but I do think that a standard adjust mounting to fit hunter prosthetic isn't going to hold up to the stresses of her semblance and fighting style. An atrophying depressed sad sack of sad in-training isn't going to rate that after they already established the defensive line in vale and from the little we hear in the timeskip shit's good enough that they aren't shoving walking wounded out the door to hold the line.

The high specs don't really have any reason to not be made to order because there's just too many extra factors that would affect needing a better arm than the standard before you even get into issues with mounting points or don't adopt an amputation mandatory policy.
