Depends what station you work and who you work with, typically everyone is very nice and chill I've worked in the kitchen a little over a year now and it get's stressful at times when you're really busy because you have time quotas and shit but other than that it's not too bad.

I work a lot of overnights as well because my store is 24/7 and it's mostly quiet except weekends obviously.

People seem to think that Mcdonalds training is top tier but it's actually fucking trash, I think i did a total of 4 hours online training which was just safety shit and then 3 in the kitchen on my first day, the other people in kitchen will just show you the ropes and you'll pick up on it in no time. Maccas looks great on a resume as well so that's a bonus.

I recommend it if you're shit out of luck and can't get anywhere else just don't let em push you around. I did and I used to work 6-7 overnights a week 11pm-7am, not fun.

I know I'm American so this might not be helpful, but.. when I was 16 I applied at like 30 corporate chains in my area, stuff like Walmart etc.. didn't get a single interview. A lot of it is just the way these big stores do hirings. They don't even look at these applications for months until they're trying to fill a position, then they almost pick at random. I worked later at a CVS with the same sort of application process as Kmart and whatever and that's how they hired. I've always had better luck on Craigslist.

When I was about 16 I asked if I could do an apprenticeship there, I caught a bus and arrived at 5:30am when they arrive to prove I could get there on time.

I partially think its because it is my mothers father and he doesn't like my father, therefore because I am my fathers son he doesn't like me either. If he just said yes, I'd have a career. I'm currently studying to become a teacher. I actually got back from a placement today. A lot of students are soft out there and I don't have any doubts that they're only going to get softer when we are explicitly told "watch your language", such that we don't upset students or give them any negative realities.

Sadly, schools are businesses at the end of the day, where student enrolment is what matters, along with attendance. Only then does the grades of the students matter, and even then we only give a shit about 'literacy' and 'numeracy'.

I'd personally consider joining airforce/navy/army but only as some sort of trade or something where when you leave you leave with a qualification. Or a non-deployment job where you can just stay there for a long time (such as airforce office jobs, airforce police, etc). But you can't just jump in. You need to pass the fitness and aptitude tests. You need to pass two job interviews and a psychology interview. You also need to have held a full license in manual specifically for at least a year.

The entire process can take a year for them to tell you no.

As a postgrad uni student myself I'd like to add that the quality of a uni education has gone right down the toilet since they're all trying to get that sweet international student money. The amount of actual teaching you get for the money you pay for the average uni course is a joke and especially for the first 2 years you would be better off just researching stuff and using resources on the internet. Also the amount of students per teacher is getting stupid, to the point where there's no feasible way they can actually help everyone who needs it in a class and still keep within the time they're allotted.

Then once youve done the course you wait 6 weeks for the bureaucracy to give you your licences ring up the security companies. They go through people like you go through dole money.
