The kebab is the one that escalated that conflict. The guys were just "drinking" (according to the kebab) outside and he told them to go away before he started pushing and cursing at them.

You forget that they had been doing it for about a year according to the article. then the kebab finally had enough and told them to fuck off and they came with baseball bats and fucked him and another storeowner of the store next door up.
