/military/

Hey fags,

I am a 23 year old goy without a ton of direction in life.
Should I join the military?
What branch?

Share your experiences and maybe get a few more NEETs off their ass as well.

>Should I join the military?
No
>What branch?
The one that dont send you to die for jews in NY and Israel
t. former soldier

Hopefully.

I plan on joining the Royal Marine Commandos sometime soon.

Do it. Before it turns into a PC experiment and you don't get specter because they have a gender quota.

Good pay and only 15 years to get a pension, meaning you can pick up your education where you left off (if you haven't already finished) and still make decent money.

If I was a yank I'd go USMC Infantry or Airborne. Anything else is dog shut tier.

>Airborne
Marines don't have Airborne
You have to be recon to go to airborne school.

Wait till trump is inaugurated to make that choice

The next generation of white soldiers need to fight for their race or there won't be another generation of whites.

I might do the army. Mostly because I don't give a fuck anymore and the navy/air force is for pussies. Yet Marines are more for younger kids. In the army you can either learn a trade that will help later on, or even make it a career if you stay in long enough.

This. That's my plan

I did time in the Navy when I got out of high school. It was a pretty good way to spend the time considering I had nothing better to do. Made a decent amount of money, learned some skills, and maturity.

If you have any other options I'd consider them though.

My uncle did the career thing. He he's pretty high up too. Was in charge of a base until recently from what I understand. Won't give details to protect his and my identity but, yeah. Believe or not, I don't care.

I was talking about your Army. Even then I hear they aren't the best.

25 here, same boat. I've wanted to join since I was a kid, but I have literally zero trust in the federal government and I don't want to be a pawn for globalist traitors.

>should I join
No
>what branch
Airforce. You won't die

You're getting up in age
If you have a degree, become an officer

Have fun fighting a proxy war.

Pointless wars are not something new, faggot. Let him fight brown people if he wants.

The military is workfare for retards and failures. You'll spend long hours doing pointless busywork with the dredges of society. Go get a real job instead.

I'm a tanker E-6 in the Army and I regret not having any marketable skills or connections so I'm stuck in this shit indefinately. If you join the military get a job with a high asvab requirement (to network with people who will get out and do something with their lives) or something that teaches you a trade, do your 3 years and get out.

Couple problems.

You join any branch of the US military, you will be doing a lot of war gaming. Most of your time spent will be doing dumb ass bullshit all day and you'll wonder why the fuck you joined in the first place.

If you pick a combat arms MOS, you will spend your entire career training to do your job and eventually get out without ever doing it.

You might get lucky, maybe your unit will deploy somewhere cool. Do a JFX with the brits or some EU country. Maybe you'll support the Iraqis or Afgans. The chances are so slim you'd have better luck trying to get rich off the lottery.

OR.

You can spend the next 6th months training your ass off, getting an 18X or option 40 contract.

Ignore the critics and anti-military people. If you pick the right job, You're so removed from normal society, you'll do more shit before 9am then most of these screen junkies have done all year.

I know. If I don't do it by 27, I won't bother, since I'd want to try for CCT or PJ, with a fallback to IT since I'm a programmer by trade.

This.

JBLM?

>18x
>option 40

What are these things user?

I'm not in the worst shape (6'1 195lbs, used to lift regularly) so that seems like it might be a good option. Are you the one in your pic?

Finnfag

special forces,

Are you at jblm

National Guard! Stay and protect rather than run around chasing IED's

no
Yes

youtube.com/watch?v=yv1jej1Q7bI

Other branches offer SOF pipelines and I'd recommend looking into them. They are really the only jobs left in the military that won't make you regret joining.

For example the E6 POG ass tanker a few comments above complaining he only gets to shoot his cannon at training targets.

Any thoughts on the engineering route?

Conventional? 12E or 18C

NGs still have to deploy to some shithole once in a while.

You already have female officers.

Enjoy playing office politics and being told what to do by a woman that couldn't do your job.

nigga I don't know. I have been playing vidya and hitting the bong for 23 years. Is there a site or something that can explain this to me in babby language?

goarmy.com/careers-and-jobs/help-choosing-a-career-job.html

I can't speak for other branches but here is what to expect anyway.

You're going to go to MEPs and take a bunch of fucking medical tests and then eventually sit down and look at what jobs the Army wants you to do.

You're going to notice the people who are there in line with you all have a common denominator. They have nothing else better going on in their lives. For most of these people, the military entitlement is already blowing up their tiny little heads.

Conventional Army is almost complete garbage right now. Unless you really want to join for some military nerdism or something like that, I'd stay away from it.

Look into SOF. If you don't think you're cut out for it, id really take the time and consider other options because after you sign that paperwork and do your oath, your stuck with whatever you picked.

OP whatever you do, don't go reserves or national guard. Also highly suggest you pick a job that will benefit you afterwards, e.g medical since a bunch come with credentials.

No we don't.

We have a "transgendered woman" who claims to be first female in the infantry.

Our infantry is closed to Woman still, at least.for a few months yet.

We have had woman in the Special Forces.since the 60s, they aren't held to the same standards and are only allowed to join Special Forces.intelligence roles, I. E. Spies and sheet. Men.complained.they couldn't handle the L1A1 and so they were issued with MP5s.

We have (and so sloes every other country) Female officers in other branches outside the Armoured Corps (that is, Infantry, Tank Corps, Artillery, Engineering, Infantry SF). We are.one of the only. Few first world countries to still ban women from combat.

Do reserves in the US see combat? I kept hearing they were in Iraq and Afghan as they got called up?

Over here they're basically Toy soldiers who do 2 weeks training a year and call themselves veterans.

If you're smart and want to have a cool high-tech job, then go for Air Force or Navy. They both have a wide variety of options.

Reserve is a support only.

Im sure a few units got put on rotation in the mid 2000's.

but our National Guard probably did more.

I was just looking around and found the 12Y (geospatial engineer), do you have anything to say about that path?

I can't find a 12E, did you mean 12B by chance?

>We have (and so sloes every other country) Female officers in other branches outside the Armoured Corps (that is, Infantry, Tank Corps, Artillery, Engineering, Infantry SF).
Like I said, enjoy taking orders from a woman who couldn't do your job.

Unless you mean the Marines are exempt. I couldn't make out what you were trying to say through your terrible English.

I can't say anything about people who work at computes or desks because I don't know a single one personally.

Yeah 12B.

I got rejected from the norwegian military when I tried to get in
I sent them a letter proving I was fit for work at sea but they said they had to focus on the 17 year old recruits in stead of me
are there any foreign militaries that are easy to get in to?
I'm probably not /fit/ enough to get in to the french foreign legion

No, they aren't allowed to join yet.

As far as women officers in the infantry, not happening.

Our soldiers here are held to high physical standards, and officers are.held to even higher standards as they must lead by example.

One woman has passed the Army AFC Commando course, it took her five tries. Normally you are only given two. She wasn't held to the same standard.

Loo at the Marines jn the US, they are open the female officers and their officer training isn't even close to our regular marine training.

A women needs to be 60kg/160lb to.join the Marine Commandos
>No chance of doing minimum 50 push ups, 60.is a normal score
>Minimum 60 sit ups
>Minimum 10 pull ups with rope.climb in full gear
>3 mile run in 20 minutes, plus another 3 mile run on treadmill at 12mph

There's a reason woman won't be able to join.

They tried SF selection but it was voluntary withdrawal, meaning they couldn't get axed. If a man cam in at 45min he'd get scrapped, the woman who came in at 1hr30min was kept because she didn't withdraw. It was binned when the SF guys got a whiff of it.

>Deepcut
Women being bullied to death and getting shots there times in the back of the head was ruled suicide. They could only mention 4 on the news. There was literally dozens of.woman killed by males and raped.

They won't last mate. The infantry isn't how you see it on TV. Source, family.in the infantry in 90s and 00s, it's full of scum fucks from council estates and white nationalist who won't take shut from women.

It's not America, it's not full on PC here in the litany yet.

12Y is a desk job, got it.

do people that go 12Y or 18C see combat? Or is it a lot of training like you mentioned earlier?

get fit vrother, join the legion

No conventional forces are deploying to combat.

If you're serious about joining, make sure to look into everything. Don't jump the gun on a job before looking an equal job in a different branch.

Sorry but I can't spend the rest of my Saturday on Cred Forums so if you want more help, look for a recruiting office. All you need to tell them is that you want information. If the dude in the office suck or are weird, Get on google and drive to a different one.

Gotcha, thanks for your time bud.

>18x

that shit is a joke user. Once you get in you will go straight infantry like anyone else and they'll judge you from there.

Navy or Coast Guard since I'm sure you couldn't be a pilot.

>Navy/air force is for pussies
Enjoy picking up the limbs of your dead friends when you have no air support, you retard

>Royal Navy
Royal Marine Commandos
Infantry

>Royal Air Force
Queens Regiment
Infantry

Don't lump us in with the yanks.

I was looking at 12Y anyway. Any thoughts?

Bundeswehr, he?
In welches Kanackenloch wurdest du geschickt?

Marines has more actual pilots then the airforce does. Airforce mostly does drones

If you go navy, don't go nuclear sub.

You will consider suicide out of sheer boredom.

Drink plenty of water if you eat mre's.

Medics hate giving treatment for hangovers, either don't drink as much or handle it yourself.

Be nice to the armory.

Otherwise, head to /k/, there's plenty of milfags there.

If you want to see combat and actually fight and kill snackbars become special forces, sniper, or a pilot.
many grunts don't see combat or very little. Marines see more on foot fighting then army.
Whichever you join, you'll be doing shit loads of paperwork one way or another. The system (especially marines) is pretty fucked up ATM .
Also don't plan on starting a family if you do . You will move every 6 months to a year and it will fuck up any kids you may have.
Source : Father was a marine col.

NVA

That sounds bullshit

air force guy here

shits fun. do it.

met some great people and made some great memories

>NVA

Instead of asking yourself "should I join the army?", ask yourself "Am I able to leave on nothing but coffee and beans in tomato sauce for weeks at a time?"
If yes:
Well you might be suited for the army

Absolutely.

I was devastated when I learned I can't join military. I have to wait for war to serve in army.

I can share this. There's a huge difference between joining at 23 and joining at 18. Those 5 years are huge in terms of your maturity. If you can show up and present yourself as a mature and thoughtful recruit who is able to take orders and get the job done...you'll do very well. You should have no problem being promoted.

It was a fucked up time, but damn fun

>Share your experiences
A few good memories.

>November night
>Base has been set up atop a high hill
>The moon is full, stars shine and a few clouds float slowly across the sky
>Kilometers of gloomy forests lie before me
>Being on guard duty was cold and beautiful

>Another week of pain behind and a tired group is waiting for a ride back to garrison
>Unexpectedly the head of the NCO course commands everyone to stand in formation
>Says he is very pleased with what he has seen in the exercise and grants everyone the fir twig patch (sissihavu in Finnish) in advance
(Imagine going to Ranger School and performing so well that you are given the Ranger tab before graduating.)

>Last exercise of the NCO course is nearing its end
>It has been raining sleet the whole time and no one has dry clothes
>Last mission is to get back to friendly territory from behind enemy lines
>This takes exactly 12 hours without breaks
>We've passed three surveillance lines, many rivers, even more kilometers and had a few close calls
>Our team leader sheds a manly tear, when I say that I have an unopened bag of candy waiting in my rucksack
>Sauna and a warm sleeping shelter is waiting for us
>It took an hour to detach boots from my feet, my whole body was hurting and I almost fell asleep naked in the sauna's dressing room but I felt relieved, if nothing else
>Next morning our instructor tells us that we shouldn't have made it through our final mission (which was probably empty words to make us feel better but it felt good at the time)

>Back at garrison after a live fire exercise
>I'll go tell our instructor that our rifles are ready for inspection
>He congratulates me and says that I've been chosen to be a sniper team leader

>Last evening in the forest
>Sun is shining calmly and the Russian border can be seen across a lake
>Captain has caught a pike, which we eat while bathing in sauna

Why were you unable to join military?

I'm kinda interested in joining the Navy. Maybe communications or play around with cool gadgets. Prefer not actually go into war if possible. Army is fine too.

A nerve or something in one eye is fucked up, barely see with this one eye. Can't be surgically fixed

Hmm. When I was doing my service, there was some legally blind guy in another garrison serving as a chef or something. He had to fight a lot to get in though.

Don't be a faggot, war makes a man out of you.

At least you can join, i tried to join after conscription but i fucked up my left knee so they they said it would be highly unlikely i could get in.
Tough fighting over a town while on pain killers was fun

I don't want to go to military to cook soup. This is what women are for.

>there actually is a reason why women should be allowed into military

What happened to your knee?

Generally women are decent in any jobs that aren't physically demanding. Very rarely there's a girl, who's fit enough to do harder stuff but physique alone doesn't make a good soldier. That's true for men too.
The combat jobs aren't particularly fun, even if you get to do "manly" stuff.

Join if you want. Join whichever branch you feel is right for you. I'm hoping to enlist in the navy. I like its nautical culture.

On a trench warfare exercise, was crawling around like a snek on crack with CG M2 in my hands when i hit the front of it really hard against the knee. I got to 1 week in bed, at least i stopped being sleep deprived for some time

Ouch. Bad luck. Shame that happened.

Any of you fellow Brit-fags in the reserves I want to join but am still in University have any of you done it?

>joining the army now
>when women are eagerly hopping on the bandwagon
Working with women is already hell, but being a soldier with one? I've only heard stories, but I imagine you're going to be resentful the entire time as you're forced to do more work and put up with nonstop bitching while your colleagues fuck their way to the top.

how do you hit yourself so hard on the knee with your gun that you fuck your kneecap up while sleep deprived

ACCIDENTALLY

special forces is a bit much for me, I was thinking about going airborne hows that?

>He has never had to crawl trough narrow trench to blow up a APC on sprint speed while having a 15kg recoilless rifle in your hands while a judge (who is also you company commander) threating to take away your 1 week leave if you dont blow them up
Living in US must be boring as fuck

Yes, would recommend. Good times and training is good to.

Joining the army was the best thing I did for myself. But, honestly, go AF or Navy, otherwise you're just going to be fuckrd around with till you're a specialist

join us army and die for israel. sounds good to me.

I'm in the Naval submarine forces for a country.
Do it. Personally, I would have never ever been capable of moving up as fast or making as much money per year as I have in this field.

In the private sector, it all works based on who your daddy is or who you're connected to. When you're going on merit and everyone starts off as a stranger its pretty good.

Marines. I joined the U.S. Army and it was deplorable and it actually catered to blacks>whites.

Join the only service which actually upholds duty over gender/sexual affiliation.

Get British citizenship and join the Best Army on the planet.

JOIN THE MARINES YOU FAGGOT

>Get the shit kicked out of you, what doesnt kill you makes you stronger
>go to far of lands, meet exotic people, kill them and destroy their culture
>fuck asian hookers for nickels and fuck European tourists just for being MURICANS on ship deployments
>Meet Chads and dudebros who'll become your best friend forever
>get the unconditional love and respect from 90% of normies even if you're a piece of shit!
>get some badass life experience and cuck nu-males when you go to college, for free!
>wear badass, A E S T H E T I C and comfy uniforms, instant panty droppers!

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR YOU PIECE OF SHIT, FUCKING DO IT

I can't do pull ups.

Don't forget private threads on /k/, because no one wants to talk with you and an ego that's so inflated, you can use it as a lifeboat.

If you're a navy guy why do you live in a land locked city state?

stay on the tank ssg -- also dont be retarded

I was a tanker --- put in for a TS clearance a year before you plan on leaving the service, then use your GI Bill to get a couple IT certifications then come work (poss with me) at DISA and make $100k/yr. No college degree required.

dont be a DAT, be a hard charger.

allons

Funny, doing the same. Shipping out t cape may in two months, cant fucking wait

Navy. Blue side sucks though. I had the time of my life in specwar.

Do it. I was in for nine years. Went to Iraq twice and Afghanistan once. Treat it like any other job. Unless you have a degree you probably won't be able to do better financially, plus free healthcare and the post 9/11 GI bill are pretty sweet. Once you see the pieces of shit you work with you will swallow a handful of redpills.

Honestly they're pretty much the best "normal" branch of the Army (not counting rangers, sf, etc). I'm an MP, and although we're more disciplined, we get no respect from the rest of the Army. They just see us as the traffic cops, even though we do a lot of hard work in combat, patrolling MSRs and running TCPs.

get a safe job in the air force, enlist for 4 years, uncuck yourself and get some discipline, free college after (that you earned)((enlist in a state that has additional benefits for max moneys, like FL, TX, IL)), profit????????

Sup pol, I'm an illegal, which branch should I join for citizenship? Been told I look like Rambo

Just for an offer of service from the sigs. Wanted to go field engineer but got offered this instead. Will it be alright?

Pussy

Na, you look like my great great great great grandpa should have scalped you.

Chief pow pows's horse guard

Edgy lad edgy, been doing karate since I was 5 and am now a black belt, I also practice Brazilian jiu jitsu. I'm confident I could take you down before your asthmatic fat ass even realized what happened

>Nautical Culture

I was saying my great great great great grandpa, he's the one who killed and subjugated all your ancestors, not me.

Faggot

Call down Squanto. What did you drink too much firewater?

What's wrong with subs?

navy and air force are pussies translates into you're too fucking stupid to get into those 2 branches so you got to go be a ground pounder and get shot at.
go navy or air force, all the vet benefits and you don't come home in a casket or have mental issues the rest of your life.
fuck you 11 bravo dumb asses, navy/air force fucks up more shit in 1 day than you fuckers in a year.

Marines are shit if you want to be a career soldier.

Or advance past the rank of E-5, really.

Do it, brother. I'm 23 and was in the exact same position as you. Nothing has really changed for me, but at least now I know I'm going to go combat at some point. Society really doesn't give a shit about you.

no
thought about it myself after i dropped out, then realized they dont take drop outs

pretty sure this also negates me from being drafted as well

i get to live the fallout life while armyfags die in some 3rd world shit hole

this of course depends on nuclear war and if i can get underground in time
