We have this system and I believe many other countries have it too. It's a good thing, if you think about it. Spare organs save lives and there's never enough of them. This is a very strange situation.

In America, the demand for organs is incredibly high. Although it's highly illegal, you can bet you ass that you will receive shittier care if you are a donor and there is a chance some MD can get a hand on your precious organs. Doctors will persuade patient's families to let their loved ones die if they're a donor. It's very unethical and dangerous to tell your patient or their families what to do in these sort of situations, but some doctors have their ways. I've seen it happen with a woman who was recovering from a stroke. In reality, she could have kept on living and the family wanted it, but the doctor really exaggerated how bad life would be for her.

With that said, if everyone is innately a donor, there might be so many more organs available that this practice may not be done so often.

I'd like to see the results of what comes out of this though.
