he got beat up by some national socialist activists and died in the hospital. it was the #1 national news story yesterday and the media is reporting it as "young internationally minded man who had worked in a kindergarten and loved everone equally killed by neo-nazis".
the truth is he was a junkie. had been for nearly 15 years which is an achievement at 28 years of age. I don't know about him ever working in a kindergarten but I do know he got fired from a telemarketer job after showing up high on his first week. I had seen him pick fights, act aggressively and just outright getting physical with strangers on a regular basis. I had also seen him fight cops multiple times, he was even in an episode of "cops" a few years back. I had never seen him sober, on the contrary he was always trying to balance that fine line of being as fucked up as possible while staying awake. and this would usually happen during weekdays. he wasn't my friend but every time we went to the local park to pay ball he'd be a regular part of the scenery.
not surprisingly nothing about his character is mentioned by the mainstream media and it's starting to piss me off. also every picture they use of him is from he was a middle schooler and there's a reason why.
I doubt very often since he used an old nokia phone from the early 2000s and I'm not sure if he ever owned a computer. I never really saw him with any possessions that weren't beer bottles or drugs. I don't think he wasted money on anything else.

Read the damn thread you fucking burger.
OP, there's not a single topic the media isn't trying to push an agenda. I thought it was mostly on Western country, but when I was watching a anime one character, while dissing the media said "good bye bad communication vehicle!".
I think it goes to show that journalism in itself is lies. It's a profession for lies. Only them feel attracted to this kind of shit. Be it on a Brazil, US or, as you're noting, Finland.

yeah it's sad and at least here it's gotten noticably worse very quickly in the past decade. we still score high in the meme indexes so I can imagine it's even worse elsewhere or either the studies just haven't caught up yet.
tabloids were always shit but there was a time when the biggest newspaper and the public broadcasting company were both trustworthy respectable news sources. now they're both blatant leftist mouthpieces and there really isn't even an alternative. the only "right wing" sites are equal to those crazy lunatic rumor sites that people occasionally link to here as well. there isn't a single right wing news media in Finland that would have any sort of staff or journalists or research. they're all just single man blogs. it's getting really difficult to get any news these days.
Parker Morgan
I'm not familiar with your graph. Is it media trustworthiness?
I'm not even very confident the media anywhere has had ever a shred on impartiality. Everything has an agenda. We were sold the meme that journalism is impartial, that history is impartial but it's just a plain lie. I just read and try to make my own conclusions. After some time you just create some kind of filter for bullshit.

rsf.org/en/ranking >Everything has an agenda. We were sold the meme that journalism is impartial, that history is impartial but it's just a plain lie. Sure, to an extent it's impossible to avoid that even with the best intentions. Journalism is after all done by people who hold their own values whatever they happen to be. Impartial media is an impossibility even if it's something we should strive for. If anything it just wasn't this blatant before.

Good riddance buddy.
Let this be a lesson about media coverage. And this thread holds an even more important lesson:
These people didn't even read a couple of paragraphs.
This is why media coverage is shit to begin with. Where's the money in providing reason and editorial discretion? There's no fucking point, the majority is utterly retarded.
Daniel Price
Yeah and it reflects why in online news the headlines are so exaggerated and sometimes completely made up. Because people don't read past them.

Don't doubt yourself so. Guys like that are big-hearted, all-inclusive. I'm confident that he found something in you to appreciate, and thought of you fondly. Of course he did, else your own grief wouldn't be so great. Cliche, but you're lucky. Not everyone has had someone like that in their life.
