>Krauts literally removed two stanzas of their own national anthem because they didn't want to offend other nations Seriously
>Current anthem: Unity and justice and freedom For the German fatherland! Let us all strive for this purpose Brotherly with heart and hand! Unity and justice and freedom Are the pledge of happiness; |: Flourish in the glow of this happiness, Flourish, German fatherland! :|
>Old anthem: Germany, Germany above all else, Above all else in the world, when, for protection and defense, it always stands brotherly together. From the Meuse to the Memel, From the Adige to the Belt, |: Germany, Germany above all else, Above all else in the world! :|
German women, German loyalty, German wine and German song Shall retain in the world Their old beautiful chime And inspire us to noble deeds During all of our life. |: German women, German loyalty, German wine and German song! :|

This is a punishment for plotting against Poland which was a christian kingdom
Alexander Williams
>memel >german
Aaron Foster
Didn't mean to repeat the last two stanzas, the last stanza in the old one is the only one in the original
it was back then
Hunter Martin
I mean cutting the second stanza is absolutly no problem seeing that it's the part that most clearly shows the origin as a drinking song. And the first one has the slight problem that Germany doesn't reach to the memel anymore.
Justin Gray
you removed them
Gavin Foster
What is >Lord, grant that Marshal Wade >May by thy mighty aid >Victory bring. >May he sedition hush and like a torrent rush, >Rebellious Scots to crush. >God save the King.
Connor Adams
>german woman: german wine you got our fun anthem bro
Jose Young
Well technicaly not true. We only got an official anthem 91
Dominic Morgan
>On 7 March 1990, months before reunification, the Constitutional Court declared only the third stanza of Hoffmann's poem to be legally protected as a national anthem under German law; Section 90a of the Criminal Code (Strafgesetzbuch) makes defamation of the national anthem a crime – but does not specify what the national anthem is
SINGING THE ORIGINAL TWO STANZAS IS -LITERALLY- ILLEGAL
They still make good porn. Kelly Trump is my all tima fav.
Xavier Phillips
Poland killed 80000 civilians, which is why Hitler moved in to defend and retaliate. While searching for destruction camp mass graves around places like Treblinka, all these scientists found were mass graves full of German citizens.
Carson Jackson
That's from before 1990. Still I'm pretty sure singing the first two isn't seen as defamation.
Tyler Jenkins
I mean yeah but why would singing the first 2 stanzas be defamation of the 3rd stanza? That doesn't make sense to me
Levi Harris
It actually goes like this >God save Franz the Kaiser ... which was for a very short period >God save Karl the Kaiser ...
Chase Perez
is save really a good translation for "erhalte"? Also Heil dir im Siegerkranz or Wacht am Rhein are the german proto hymns
Ryan Kelly
MEIN GOTT
Noah Bailey
idk but brits are familiar with the word in a hymn
Jack Long
Of course it doesn't.
Yes it is "to save" also means to keep save not just rescue.
Nicholas Turner
Hahahahah the Aryans are beginning to tear themselves apart as they desperately seek to destroy themselves.
They are literally handing the world to us - soon we will rule over PLANET ANGLO.
Andrew Adams
There is hardly a trace of German culture left in Klaipėda. If anything, Germans should be butthurt about Kaliningrad.
It's just that these stanzas are outdated and no longer represent modern-day Germany.
The first stanza features historical borders that are no longer accurate and could also be interpreted as being revanchist. The phrase "Germany above all else" is incorrect too since our modern values (e.g. human rights, LGBTQ+ and minority rights) are much more important than some piece of land/state within the EU.
The second stanza is not inclusive enough and could make minorities who do not identify as "German" feel unwelcome in our country, so it had to go as well.
I see nothing wrong with this.
John Hill
>nitpicky critiques
if you allow nitpicky crtique jewing you will nitpicked into death. literally anything can be criticized.
William Perry

John Perez
>kills alot of the chosen people even after the nazis left >calls itself """""""""Christian Kingdom"""""""""
Oliver Wright

Brody Moore
Nah see this is your anthem: >oh lets make a country of faggots, and queer up the whole damn world. >lets make a country of faggots, and dress the boys like girls.
Joshua Cook
WOW BTFO HOW WILL BRITAIN EVER RECOVER
Oliver Collins
Sorry I meant germany didnt mean to implicate you like that
Caleb Diaz
Don't deny the truth. Poland was and is christian and Germany is pagan and murderous. It must be punished for what it did to Poland
Easton Robinson
you are forgiven my son
Adrian Carter
>American """""""""humour""""""""""
Blake Hill
And what was Poland before it was Christian? hmmm
Daniel Cruz
How can you claim to be christian and then murder a lot of gods chosen people. At least we accept our share of responsibilty
