God gave us freewill. We can either choose to walk in the light he provides and receive eternal life or not.

That doesn't mean its possible for us to overthrow God or truly rebel against Him. Because he is outside time and knows all things.

Its not that hard to imagine that God created beings after himself which were not puppets but had the ability to make their own choices, even if they were poor choices and God being just still has to make a judgement based on those choices. The extraordinary thing is that God provided a way out of his own judgement. He really had no need to. He doesn't have to justify himself to anyone. Yet he still sent his ownly begotten son to die for us and to fulfill all the laws.
