Father's name

It's French but my father insists we are not French and that his great grandfather had it changed from an Irish surname to dodge some sort of legal action.

Tbh I'm hoping he's lying because I'd rather be French than Irish

In english my last name is basically a mixture of feeling well and brave

The furthest my family could trace our line back is to one ancestor being lower nobility in the 15th century in bavaria; apparently they lost that sometime in the 16th and moved to austria
