you can do it!

OP is a faggot

Our children should be grateful being able to study without having to do manual labor, those little shits get tired walking with a 4pack of cola to the car.

Inb4 another boo hoo i have to work so hard at burger king to pay for my college

>[sarc] It must be true because it's on the internet! [/sarc]

i really, really like this image.

Sorry I can't hear you over the sounds of hippies sucking Mohammad's dick.

I paid into social security and I don't care if it a bankrupt ponzi scheme I want my money because I didn't invest well and save like a responsible person.

Yeah but compare our salaries to our house prices back then, kiddo!

Do what makes you happy!

Just walk right in there, shake the manager firmly by the hand and ask for a job. That's the ticket!

Capitalism Works

BLURRGH
*vomits*
HURRRGHHHHBLURAAGFHH
HUARRRRRRRRRAGRGA
*vomits again*

Complaining about needing a six figure income to buy a house? Just go work for the government and get paid that much to do nothing all day.

Why aren't you married yet son? By age 23 I had a full time job, a car, a house with a picket fence, a wife and kids and no student loan debt.

Nothing in life is free, here's an unpaid internship son, the experience is payment enough.

Makes sense if the boomer in question got a real job after leaving high school instead of knowingly putting himself in massive debt over a piece of paper that's useful only to the institution that gives it out for loads of money.

>my kids are a fucking joke

you can't blame them

you can do anything you want to be! we will help (coddle) you every step of the way!

>Just find something you love to do.

That

They also give thanks when assisted

>here's my 2003 corvette z06
>has 150k miles on it
>seats are ripped up and has a blown headgasget
>paint is good if you look passed the water marks
>25k firm. No low ballers

Fuck I hate buying cars off boomers

>manual labor

I actually wouldnt mind doing manual labor considering it almost paid better in their time than a 4 year degree does now

Kek

You can just walk in a store, ask for a job, and boom you got a job.

I love black people
I'm so sorry for slavery
We're all equal

i've encountered that too, but not with cars.

Boomer aged traders are the worst, too.

Back then a high school degree was enough to get a decent full time job and houses were cheap as fuck.

Old Boomer women seem to give a shit about blacks which I think is hilarious.

Get a college degree or nobody will even bother hiring you at anything.

There are still tons of decent full-time jobs out there, the only problem is kids these days are allergic to physical labor.
Boomers sure as fuck weren't.

Why don't you just save up for a few years and buy a house?

>income is 60k, houses are 800-900k

just go there, ask to speak to the manager, give him a firm handshake, talk slowly and respectfully and get that job user, that's how it's done

>thank god the allies liberated us

"No. You can't quit your job until you find another one."

>"Now listen here son..."

Something about going barefoot to school in the middle of the winter.

I'll bite, what's wrong with this one?

sound advice right there

>Be me
>Have to do a delivery of football products to a bowling alley as part of my job.
>Slack lazy boomer female hangs around the joint and tries to extort free shit off me.
>Refuse to steal from my employer to give her freebies one to many times
>Reports me to the management of the bowling alley to try and have me fired.
>Find out she's done it to a number of my fellow Y gen

I hate fucking boomers so fucking much - why are they all fucking crooks?

Is that why they opened their countries up to cheap foreign labour?

This is actually good advice.

>mfw I hire staff and this is a win
>mfw neets think it is a meme

Keep emailing CVs guys! Don't ask proactively, don't speak to anyone in person! Every job available is advertised!

What's wrong with manual labor? I earn more than most of my friends with degrees

Physical labor isn't worth it anymore

t. Someone who's done mostly physical labor throughout most of his work life.

For one, I'd like to not go home not smelling like sweat and smoke and making only pennies.

>Told to work hard
>Work hard to make myself stand out
>End up being taken advantage of and relied upon heavily because everyone else is shit
>No promotions, because relied upon in said position
>Everyone else has to worry about burning their lips on their coffee and still ends up making more.
>Females never asked to do tasks, because why not let the man (me) do it?

>Sure are a lot of these Asian fellas around

They're called chinks.

>when I was your age
I paid my own school by working part time at the sandwich shop

East or west?

boomers may say some dumb ass shit that no longer applies to today's world, but this is not one of them.

If not for the allies we would be speaking German now

Doesn't sound like you're in a trade

I'm being taken advantage of heavily.

My body is giving out on me, and I barely have enough time to even look for another job. Even when I apply, it's not like I get immediate replies. Just left to keep suffering this hellish job.

I just want some breathing room so I don't go insane.

You can be anything you want to be!

Be grateful for being born

Why is this bad?

no argument for small business but one is very likely to reach a plateau working there very fast

I'm talking HR-ridden corporations that allow you to climb your way through the ranks

"i stopped working at age 55, then i voted for that new law making everyone working till 67"

West

I don't like wat you krauts did from my perspective. Occupying my country and shit, but from your perspective the only thing you guys need to be sorry fore is losing the war. Fucking thrash that finds it good that there country whas destroyed in a war.

there we go. The only answer I was looking for in this angsty teen reddit thread

Who's they?
If you're talking about Western countries, yes I guess that's part of it.
Even though it's bullshit that we "need" foreigners to do our "dirty work".

>Physical labor isn't worth it anymore

It's worth it when it's all you can get at a certain point.

Of course, when given a choice between physical labor and government handouts, many will choose the latter.
Which is deplorable.

And physical (skilled) trades can be extremely lucrative.

how are you going to eat?

>working hard is for suckers

that's the mentality I've seen everywhere I've worked.

"At least in the DDR everyone had a job, child care was free and beer was cheap."

Don't trust anyone under 30

Here in the use they are trying to raise it from 64 to 74

Politicians of the 1960's and 1970's.

Thought so.

shit wrong reply

This is true though.

It's how I got my first job. I only had to apply this method at a few businesses before I got hired.

You know, boomers are half-right about a lot of things.

>Woodstock was the best time of my life. Why aren't you out with your friends, experimenting with drugs and race mixing?

Fuck you and every member of your geriatric hippy cult you cuckold mother fuckers. Your entire cucked generation skull fucked my own for the rest of eternity. Its your fault we're in this mess. Hope you like having your daughter bring back jamal's 12 kids after he bolts. Fucking hippy faggot.

They too, yes.

Muslims started pouring into Belgium in the 60s because apparently we needed "guest workers".

>""""""guest""""""
>permanent

Kek. Best one

I don't mind physical labor, but not when the payout isn't worth it. I'm still against raising the minimum wage. I just believe in a ladder to climb.

Shit. To be honest, these jobs made me gain weight and take up smoking again. I'd rather sit on my ass while looking for a new job and stop eating again. I used to have /fa/'s dream body at one point. I used to survive off of nothing but water, a can of beans, and oatmeal, which cost next to nothing.

They just telll you to put an application if you ever get to meet the manager

>My body is giving out on me, and I barely have enough time to even look for another job. Even when I apply, it's not like I get immediate replies. Just left to keep suffering this hellish job.

I'd get out now - it sounds like their trying to keep you so busy that you won't have time to hunt for another job.

Its a prime boomer scam.

I work for a large company. I used to work for a massive company. In both cases I have managed to get people in. You're crazy if you don't think this still happens. I once gave a menial job to a guy who couldn't read. He had been unemployed for ages and was so desperate to better himself and provide for his family. Do you think corp HR approves that shit?
If people can see you face to face they know you aren't black, or some tattooed degenerate. If you're relying on paper sifts and temps looking for keywords then Laquisha already got your job because her friend who already works there fed her the answers.

Even big companies can sometimes find a way to squeeze the right guy in somewhere. If you hide behind online applications you will never be that guy

this.

I don't know what bufu town y'all are in where a handshake gets you a job

fair enough. actually comfy as fuck life and definately better than some of the jobs that are available

You can actually since its their fault for not raising kids better

> "ow my back"

Me: What do you do?

Boomer: I'm a consultant

I don't mind hard work, but I don't like being cheated. I believe in honor, but people seem to have none.

Hard work only counts for your own self-made business, unless you're a co-owner with a friend or friends.

Yeah but he'll at least have a face to put to one of the sea of names, and if you don't completely sperg out he might actually think you're a functional human being.

>Just believe in yourself and others, all things will work out!

>Russia!? them damn commies are bad news! all they wanna do is boss ya around!

>shootin' games? those ain't nothin' like a REAL war!

>put 10% of your income in savings!

Okay, tell us what jobs you're thinking of Pierre/Geert? Because I can tell you now, there aren't.

i met online via everquest2 an old lady that was an MIT graduate that went to woodstock, she was a fucking stoner and a hippy, but she always told us in the guild that woodstock was uttershit and completely overmade by people who went there slept in the mud had the worst time of their life but didnt want to sound like losers for going to a shitty place with shitty music.

that old hag was based as fuck she was always saying never trust a nignog or a chink.

"I support Hillary because she is kind"

"I don't understand all that IT stuff either so I completely understand why Hillary accidentally messed up her emails"

You obviously don't know what inflation is. Is it because you're stupid? Because back then, wages weren't stagnant. They grew alongside productivity which ensured whatever job you worked, you still had great buying power.

If you actually think 'decent full time jobs' are comparable to baby boomer 'decent full time jobs', you're a boomershit.

exactly, I'm the same.

I don't know what kind of jobs you're talking about. Unless it's not some grocery store or mcdonalds good luck meeting the manager in person

This is pretty much how I got my current job.

they usually all refer to employment agencies now

"I think I'm becoming more liberal"

My 53 year old conservative mother after she rode the property boom and 80s/90s tax cuts to wealth, voting for conservatives the entire way until she semi-retired and developed health problems.

Well no shit.

It's not her kids who will have to go to school getting bullied by fags in dresses while teachers tell them that the western world is the root of all evil.

Go ahead, mom. Enjoy your socialist utopia. You don't have to live surrounded by trigglypuffs who scream at you and get you fired for no reason from the job where you were the top salesman.

You already made your money, and now you get to enjoy a comfy, comfy social safety net on top of it all. Have balloon ride! Buy some prime rib! Spend your money on vacations and cruises. Go ahead.

Complain that me and my wife waste our money because we're too tired to cook some nights and eat off the value menu at a fast food restaurant. Complain that we don't have kids yet even though we're in our thirties. That I don't have a job with a pension yet. That we don't have a family doctor. That I haven't been to the dentist in 6 years. When none of these things are affordable or even available to us.

But, go on, with your health problems, seeing specialist after specialist, six this year...

My wife wants to get pregnant and can't, and we can't find a family doctor or GP to even talk to us, but you have no problem finding people to cat scan your body every 3 months.

That's fine. Shake your head. Vote for more socialists, go ahead. To pay for your doctors.

And then call me on the phone come thanksgiving and ask me if we're ready to start a family, if we have a down payment yet, if my wife is pregnant.

Lol.

Go to any medium-sized construction company for instance, and you're sure to get a job hauling bricks and mortar all day.
You can work your way up to master mason, and if you have the ability you can become a construction mogul in a few decades.

What the fuck are you even talking about?

Adjusted for inflation, skilled tradesmen today make a LOT more money than skilled tradesmen back in boomer times.
Because back then, everyone and their dog was a skilled tradesman.

Youd be surprised, just don't go to some giant corporation with a huge hr department and outsourced headhunters and expect to meet anyone inportant

Reeeeeeee

>spergs thinking a handshake gets a job
>unable to talk to people

It isn't just "gee, sir, I sure would like a job".
You have to have a conversation. When I was younger, a mate of mine always used to chat to supermarket cashiers. Said he'd like to work there. One vacancy came up, they told him, he spoke to the manager and they hired him.
If it was all done the way you think it is, how come different family members work in the same store? Genetically predisposed to competency based interviews or nepotism?

Occam's razor suggests the latter. All getting to know people is just low level nepotism. A bit of familiarity. The prescreening for race/degeneracy. Most hiring managers would rather circumvent the HR procedures which are put in place to give dindus and morons a fair chance...

FYI it's a grocery store job. I used to make more elsewhere, but I needed work, because I don't want to be NEET.

>Asked to come in on days off or stay longer
>Bust my ass outside in the heat when it's my turn to push carts
>Others are lazy fucks who take extra breaks and hardly called on the intercom, while I'm always ringed up for help
>If there's a mess, I'm the one called to clean it
>Boss even asks me to restore machinery at no extra pay
>Asked to do everyone's cardboard
>Asked to close
>Asked to go back outside in 100 degree weather because someone else is too lazy
>Asked to do other things that aren't part of my job, and essentially do other people's jobs with no extra pay.
>Still have to do my own job
>Always paged by someone to do something when told by another boss to do something else and I'm caught in the middle
>"Hey, we got complaints about you for being a tad slow (normal paced) one day"
>Guy in dairy is overwhelmed and desperately wants to get me promoted to help him
>We talked to the manager
>"Yyyyyyeahhhhh. I'll keep this in mind."

Oh, and head manager is a racist anti-white black feminist. Some other white guy eventually got fed up with her fucking with him and stopped showing up, eventually getting fired. He was there for 4 years.

Really, I don't mind not eating for days as long as I can rest off the hunger.

dont forget:

>blow the inheritance you got from *your* parents, divorce your husband, sell everything up and go on perpetual holiday for 20 years to ensure your own kids get nothing, because YOLO

>It doesn't matter what degree you get

no, they send you straight to employment agencies who take a third of your paycheck and send you around town once ever few months or so for overflow labor. if you want to get hired you need to have grown up with a factory managers son or something, those are the people they take chances on not random people looking for work

>boomer hate thread
>anons calling everything good advice

???

Fucking a you said it better than myself. i run a chair factory and it kills me because all the temps we get are burn out meth heads/ pill heads. like What the fuck happen to people work ethic?

That's not manual labour you retard

That's a starter job for kids

Go to another chain as a manager or get out of retail.

This
>b-b-but I asked and they said no so at least I tried
is exactly what the problem is.

Boomers at least knew it was about personal contact with potential employers, not about shifting the blame to some chick behind the desk at an employment agency who gives you the "computer says no" schtick.

They didnt have women studies, understandable mistake

I know I said "this" but I'm disagreeing with you.

The sentence was supposed to read "This (bullshit) is exactly what the problem is".

I'm guessing personal contact is the deal breaker here

I've worked other labor jobs before from construction to warehouse.

20% actually and it's good advice if you can afford it.

In the case of mildly autistic millennials, yes it is.

well i dont see that as a good thing senpai. i was lucky enough to have family friends in high places but that doesnt mean others should be forced into cryptoslavery because their parents didnt drink with a manager

It's about you, not your parents.

If all you want to do is visit the employment agency, then all you're going to get is what the employment agency gives you (or doesn't give you).

>mfw the government cut from everything other than immigration and pensions which they put more money into

No, you are missing the point.

I hire people. If I don't know any of them, I will hire according to the incredibly specific criteria I have been given, potentially missing out some good candidates.
If I know someone and know they have a good work ethic, maybe I know them personally, maybe they just impressed me with their tenacity and someone has vouched for them, I will twist everytjing they say to score highly.
It's not about nepotism it's about connecting.

>I will twist everytjing they say to score highly.

I'd fire you for this.

>10%
What braindead retard told you only 10%

>B-but the store clerks won't let me pay them with "experience" dad!

>Kids these days, always complainin' hurrrr

That's....the saddest thing I've read in a long time.
I'm so sorry shit sucks so much.

That would be the generations before the boomers.

Ok so how do you do it?
Assuming some of you anons are young:
1/ talk to your friends' parents
2/ talk to people in stores
3/ volunteer but only for community things like church events, coaching sports teams
4/ go to bars and talk to people
5/ and cafes
6/ and hang around people who do what you want to do
7/ talk to people already in the job for insider knowledge and tips
8/ be flexible - if you want to be a carpenter but a handyman's job comes up, consider it
9/ remember loads of jobs are never advertised and this is legal
10/ remember even corporations can be occasionally flexible, creating a trainee job where there wasn't one

And lastly
11/ you may need to move.

>We bought our house in 19xx and now it's worth yyyy.

a) how amazingly clever to buy a house!
b) it's worth fuck all until you sell it, at which point you need to buy another house.

You would never find out, burger. I hire good people and am always volunteered for interviewing because of this.

You think the criteria always fit the job? Go fuck yourself

It's funny when the reality hits them to their faces when they close the factory where they've worked at whole their life

lost

this is legit what my dad told me

I'm a corporate manager who will likely need to hire people within the next 6 months. Job requirements will be a 4 year degree plus 5 years related experience. When the time comes to post jobs, applicants will be fed to me through HR making it difficult for someone to actually find me to meet me. But if someone did their homework enough to find me and then did this, they would immediately have a HUGE advantage over everyone else.

I'm looking for motivation like that, and it's very hard to detect that in an interview or through the sea of resumes. So whether you want to hear it or not, that level of effort IS much more likely to get you a job. If you're serious about getting one in the first place.

I'm gen X, not a baby boomer for the record.

This guy gets it.

Give me someone with a work ethic and a sense of urgency and I'll overlook other qualifications. You can't teach those things.

Are you sure they're not meaning thank God the British, French and Americans got to us rather than the Russians?

>just get a job
>At your age I had my own home
>I left from my parents at 18 with nothing
>How don't you know ? you studied, I have no diploma.
>Be nice to girls, learn to cook and do chores, you will find a girl easily
>Why arent you clubbing?
>At your age I just talked to people
>Take this fluoride, it's good for your teeth
>eat margarine it's healthy
>fat is bad for you.
>stop loosing weight it's unhealthy
>Why are kids so retarded these days, it gets worse and worse

Listened to liberal baby boomer women having a conversation about politics
>If Trump wins in November, something big will happen, maybe a market crash, especially with all that Chinese money moving around
>I think part of the appeal of Johnson is that he's very calm, very collected, doesn't bully
>I think Johnson realized that especially with all the yelling and bullying he could be a voice of reason
>Donald Trump says a lot of things and then makes a lot of noise
>I don't really know a lot about that other candidate
The fact that these people have the ignorance to talk about politics without not even knowing all 4 candidates is appalling

Also:
>I paid my way through college and was working
Yeah, because you got paid a good wage and your college wasn't $20,000 a year
>We never had computers, I learned to type on a typewriter!
Big fucking deal? You weren't doing high-level computing
>Go have fun and party in college user!
Go fuck yourself boomer scum, unlike you my prospects are tied to my accomplishments and not simply receiving a degree

so tired of boomers downplaying hard work and success too. they think they had it so hard, hyfr

>when I was in college I delivered sodas part time! I never asked my parents for money!

THIS
THIS
THIS
THIS

EVERY
FUCKING
BOOMER
IS A CONSULTANT

>tech consulting
>IT consulting
>project consulting
what the fuck??? Consulting isn't a REAL JOB

I have done this my whole life. I've lived in 4 different states and never has this ever worked.
Every excuse a boomer can come up with to why I failed out I've changed.
>New tailored suit
>Fresh hair cut
>Fresh shave
>Good shoes
Yet still it has never worked.
>You can work your way up to master mason
>Work your way up
I laugh at this concept for a few reasons.
>In the modern age even the stupidest of labor professions need to be licensed IE; Masons, Electricians, Plumbers, etc. So have fun with spending 10 years just to become a master at laying brick.
>Nobody in the business wants anyone to move up that works hard because they don't want to pay them more and give them benefits.

The boomers didn't know anything about what we're going through now because they didn't have mass databases with your whole life on it. Background checks and reference checks are super simple. Many companies can pay for services to look up pertinent information about an applicant such as job history, education, background and everything in between. As well in the boomers days the manager had to go through applications by hand and usually personally interview everyone who applied. They would check you and your application out in person.
Now companies can have filters set to their application process that deletes applicants who don't meet the criteria. This is by far what is killing most young working class citizens because they're stuck in the experience to work but can't get work experience.

You see companies want you to have experience because they don't want to take a chance on you but because no one will give you a chance you can't get any experience.
This user gets what's up.

this
>At your age...
>Why aren't you out partying?
because I'm trying to make something of myself with the limited options I have you fucking boomer. You had every opportunity to make something of yourself and all you did was pop out kids and become a "consultant"

Yeah HR can be a real barrier sometimes. I get why it has to exist, but I have no problem with circumventing it.

When I used to hire entry level jobs and asked the "motivational" questions, all those muppets who told me how it was their dream to work in a warehouse or stacking shelves scored low, while people who told me the hours suited, they lived around the corner and their friend worked here already (and was a good worker) scored more highly.

It's a bit different the higher you go as you expect some form of research to have been done on the company and the role. It's also harder to sift out people who are just really good at interviews/assessment centres and would be shit at the job.

Plus if you google you can normally find out what the questions will be. Although I guess there's points there for initiative.

I get frustrated when intelligent young white males sit at home and rage because they don't have a job, when I would be happy to hire some of them if they paid attention to what I am trying to tell them....

>have fun with spending 10 years just to become a master at laying brick
Is there a problem with that?

You obviously have no idea what a "skilled tradesman" is.
Protip: it's nothing like getting a college degree; you don't become a skilled tradesman after four years of dragging your feet.

>I only paid $XXX in college fees! I worked in college!

i'm not really into politics

Just be yourself!

you don't have to look that good to get girls, what are you worried about?

The "didn't invest well" thing hits close to home. My grandfather started a handyman business in the late 90's after leaving a management position at a textile mill that sent all its machines to china and mexico. He had a tidy sum put back, and invested in his son-in-law's company, an insulation business. The Insulation-douche's dad used the company for his own profit, driving it into the ground (using company credit for side jobs, using company materials for under the table work etc), leaving my grandfather working his construction business past retirement age. Yeah he invested poorly, but he's always worked hard despite having severe dyslexia and having a hard time reading, and has always tried to help others when he could. His business was always being undercut by competitors using illegal labor, while he employed down on their luck drunks or friends of the family trying to build a life after some hardship. This is the kind of man who deserves the help of social security, and they're slowly shrinking his check as his wife's health gets worse and worse and they use more of their medicare.

Yes Social Security is a ponzi scheme, but some people worked hard helping to build their communities and deserve the help after they can't work anymore.

tldr my parent are saying stuff like jesus the world has turned to shit i had it soo easy, i cant believe the shit kids have to go throu these days. we were just lucky to be born during the glorious 30s

my grandparents are aware inflation is a thing and they were aware 60 years ago, which is why they started saving money and investing wisely
They don't give me any shit for living at home at 20 just because they had moved out; college is expensive.

You really sound whiny. If nobody ever gets promoted why isn't everyone in an entry level job?
I was having trouble getting promoted so I went to a specialist agency and got the equivalent of my boss's job at a rival. Did it again a few years later. Now in a field I would never have considered when I was 18 (am 35).
The database thing is shit. I am telling you, I hire people. I work in an industry that requires certain checks. (Criminal etc). I have literally told you how to avoid getting stuck in paper sifts (what application vetting is still called). They do keyword searches. They employ clueless temps to chuck applications out and email you to say sorry not this time.

Stop whining like a bitch and read my posts.

"That's not a real job, you need to find a real job."

Nigger it pays real money and I'm making more than the majority of my peers even if it's shit.

>I vote for stability!

Meanwhile the 5 year inflation is turning out at 49,9% rate

9/10 companies put your CV or résumé through an automatic word filter too, and unless it has a certain number of words pertinent to the job or experience they are looking for, your CV just gets binned automatically before anyone even looks at it

I worked in HR recruiting for awhile and this is how things are done.

Not to mention that even if you make it through the initially résumé screening and phone interviews, they'll sometimes bring you in for group interviews where they run you through a series of inane exercises and tasks with other people so they can try to analyze you and figure out your psyche like the pseudo-psychologists/sociologists they wish they were

God I hated HR recruiting

...

I'm 29 and I'm a consultant.

Consulting is like contracting but your doing the knowledge work, research/analyse the clients problems, suggest solutions, writing reports, managing change et al.

If your at the top of your game working with big banks, competing (or even collaborating) with McKinsey IDEO or BCG the cash is exceptional, with travel, with interesting global scale projects and sometimes you get to bang corporate whores who like you.

Listen champ I've been doing residential and commercial interior wiring since I was 9. I'm 25 now so I have around 15 years of experience.
Me and my father did free lance handyman work to circumvent most licensing and certifications. When I turned 18 I couldn't work for my dads business anymore. Since it was just him on the payroll and I was a child being paid under the table when I became an adult it would've caused too many legal complications.

I've since tried going the same route my dad did of doing free lance handyman work specializing in electrical.
Here's the good part. Nobody NOBODY will hire me. I can't even get jobs that are posted online because everyone wants someone that's licensed. Every now and again I'll get a few jobs and a few from my dad that I can make a few bucks on but nothing stable.

I even tried going through the union. Took their tests aced them all even passed the oral exam to test my actual knowledge. They told me I have to start at apprentice even though I've got easily the skills of a journeyman or master just without the certification.

Fuck outta here with this I don't know what a skilled trade is. I have enough copper in my fingers to make at least 3 pennies.

youtube.com/watch?v=V9bVnQPaj48

Who the fuck would want to hire an unlicenced electrician they don't know personally?
Nobody wants their house to burn down.

No offense bong but you live in Eurabia.
We have a different system across the pond and it's rigged against us. Yours actually sounds better.
Even the foreigners that work at my state tourist trap from Bulgaria and Serbia and shit say that the American job market is more like slavery than work now.
>mfw a Bulgarian told me working here is just like in his corrupt shitty country

Yeah all this.
Which is why you stand a better chance if you are known to someone, even vicariously.
I get fed up of marking group exercises where everyone is ok. What do you put? If you weren't too bossy or too quiet you did ok. But on those I have 18 skills within 7 competencies to look for, as well as ten company values.
So obviously it's still subjective.

It isn't easy to get known, and in some companies it's almost impossible. We've hired from contractors who we have worked alongside, though. Takes a bit of lateral thinking sometimes.

>If your at the top of your game working with big banks

You can't get a job like that without connections, so being born rich and connected. 1% leave REEEEEEEEEEEE

"You'll never get a job sending applications from your computer! You've got to go there in person, smile, and ask for work!"

>try it
>everywhere I go they just tells me to apply online
>everywhere has a personality test that junks your application if you don't meet the profile of a happy-go-lucky retard who's legitimately excited about the prospect of selling chinese junk to people for 8 hours a day.

"Oh, fiddlesticks!"

I feel for you user, at least you have a warm home I guess

>Too good to suck a little Union dick.

Enjoy that dignified poverty my son.

> girls love curly hair
> any girl would be lucky to have you
> they'll all be chasing after you

Why won't your dad sign off on your hours so you can sit for the licensing exam..?

I feel you bro.

>work in an electronics department
>only male under 30
>all females over 60
>have to move 50+ inch tvs while closing with grandma
>"user I'm too old to work that hard"
>end up tearing my back to shreds because I need the job

people over 50 should be gassed

He's a nice guy but stupid really and the other guy is a bastard and smart really but what does it have to do with some other random guy? His stupidity should be punished as should the other guys crimes not make some1 not involved pay for it.

WOW MY KID IS SO SMAHT WITH THE COMPUTAHS ONE DAY BILL GATES IS GONNA WORK FOR HIM

I have worked for three US companies. The only thing that's different is your country is bigger so you are less likely to put down roots and build a network of contacts. That is countered by the fact that yanks talk to each other (bongs don't except if they are northern).

You aren't interested, you're just chucking excuses my way. You haven't asked any questions about anything.

Neet can't last forever.

Liar.
List the companies that have required a psychometric test for screening.

You know that shit costs companies money right?

You are full of shit and have applied to one or two places, and spammed your cv on reed.

>I get frustrated when intelligent young white males sit at home and rage because they don't have a job, when I would be happy to hire some of them if they paid attention to what I am trying to tell them....

God, this. 1000 times this.

To a large extent I don't care about your job knowledge. I do to an extent, but FAR more important is the intangibles. I'd love to ask people:

You have caught up on your work for the day. More may come in, but for now you have a bit of a lull. Do you:

A) Browse the internet for a while
B) Tell your supervisor/manager you are caught up and need more to do

I think if I could ever somehow get an honest answer to this question that would tell me all I need to know. I can train the rest.

I had a Trainee (corporate level management trainee) come to me for a 6 month rotation for a lower level position within my department. He was very motivated, and was always looking for more work. As a result, he learned his job extremely well and after 6 months I told him that not only would I hire him full time, but I don't see him as a worker, I see him as a leader. Only problem is he's in the Air National Guard and is being deployed to the mid-east for several months or I'd never let him go. But the difference between him and previous Trainees was all in motivation and a sense of urgency.

My back is killing me!

>they'll sometimes bring you in for group interviews where they run you through a series of inane exercises and tasks with other people so they can try to analyze you and figure out your psyche like the pseudo-psychologists/sociologists they wish they were

Literally like straight out of Orwell or Huxley.

Do these people really think living as middle managers in techno-Babylon is gonna be SOOOO GOOD?

Or is it that they truly dream of being executives themselves one day?

>If nobody ever gets promoted why isn't everyone in an entry level job?

Because they are. I don't know anyone over 30 who doesn't work a service/retail job. We have fully-grown adults older than me pushing shopping carts at my job.

>Who the fuck would want to hire an unlicenced electrician they don't know personally?

Why did some states not require licensing at all until 1937?
>dli.mn.gov/ccld/ElectricalHistory.asp

State licensing of electricians is crap because they require you to have what is in essence a purchased degree instead of the working functioning knowledge.

Why can't there be a test for people to prove they have the equivalent skills of a master just for the sake of licensing?
I was underage for most of my hours. The union won't recognize the time because of it.
>Neet can't last forever
Indeed. I'm not even NEET right now just struggling.
I know how the game works unfortunately when I was younger I fucked up a bit and got a meme degree in psychology. Now I have to fall back to what I know and am good at. Unfortunately even in a skilled trade there are some hiccups that make it difficult.
>You aren't interested
You're right. I don't have a laziness problem or a "I wanna be a NEET because I'm entitled to it" problem either.
Life just fucking sucks sometimes and all this red tape bureaucratic bullshit is just getting in the way of skilled trade doing what it does best.

This is the attitude that will ruin your life, people make their own decisions. Any attempt to offload that responsibility is a failure of character. Check it

Yeah when I worked in a supermarket everyone I knew had a shit job. But everyone I knew isn't everyone.

Do you think the US is solely populated by trolley boys and greeters?

>tfw it's a 'your Dad calls and wants help with the computer over the phone and he understands absolutely nothing and behaves like a retard until you both scream at each other from the top of your lungs and you hang up in anger' episode

Funny you say that, I work in receiving at my retail job and two of the harder workers are men that are 50+

BIG IMPORTANT JOB BECAUSE OF COMPUTER SKILLS

T. Boomer

Do you know what "formative years" are you fucking pseud

>T.Boomer
You're in a boomer role play thread remember user

If you already have the experience, why not just suck it up and do a couple years as an apprentice? It sucks but apprentice money> no money

Receiving dick I'd wager.
There's a big difference between forklifiting and pallet-jacking stacks of retail garbage to where it needs to be and having to actually stock it and deal with customers. I'd put $50 on those old cunts short-circuiting if anybody asked them how to connect their iphone to their tv.

That is one way to look at it, But he's also been paying more into social security and medicare than he has drawn. Yes we know now it is a ponzi scheme, but at the time he thought it was his civic duty and would help him out if he should fall on hard times in his last decade or so.

Don't get me wrong, hes not destitute. They've paid off their car, house, and land, and hes made improvements to the house so its gained value. But should they be penalizing him for spending from one program by reducing his award from another? How is he any less deserving than say a person with a severe physical disability who has never worked? The man has paid his own taxes for decades, and employed people for over 20 years who have also all paid taxes, should he not be entitled to utilize a program designed for people in his situation?

>You can't get a job like that without connections
*without references
still you might have to go through an agency the first time at a client, then independently develop a renewable direct contract, easy money but it takes time and energy to get there
ME sandniggers with oil are an excellent target for this but you have to be willing to travel to a desert absolutist monarchy for weeks at a time and deal with ignorant sandniggers and their paki/indian incompetent subordinates

>But the difference between him and previous Trainees was all in motivation and a sense of urgency.

Urgently scrabble for table scraps, literal crumbs of wealth, while big bankers rob the value right out of every dollar leaving nothing behind in our wallets but a paper corpse with phony numbers written on it.

I wish I could see your face when you figure out the economy is a mousetrap and you're the mouse.

You're living in some kind of trance where you get up and go to work and make money because that's what grown-ups are supposed to do, meanwhile, your kids are gonna be human livestock, and your fucking daughters, if they're pretty, might aspire to be pets!

Go work harder, retard. Go put in the extra effort, go for the gold, and win one for the Gipper. Dumb fuck.

WORK HARDER, DIPSHIT!!! LOL!!!

>until 1937
Maybe because it was only by that point that electricity became popular enough and electrical fires due to shitty wiring became a big enough problem.

You sound like a grade A bellend.

Don't be a primadonna about working in a store. You could learn from the old bastards in goods in.
Idk if I sound like a boomer btw.

£95 a week for 37.5 hours of working the railway in the East Midlands as an apprentice. Company goes to shit and dies in the mud, still expected to finish that particular days work.. fuck apprenticeships flag

Had that happen years ago for a part-time job at a theatre. There was a group interview and all the interviewers had clipboards.

The person who got the job was some ditzy hipster girl who brought up irrelevant shit like art, and talked like "Yeah... like... Art, yeah..." She must have said some buzzwords that they liked or something.

The jobs I've gotten, however were 90% based on enough work experience and the rest based on convenience such as living close enough. The only one that really pushed a personality test was some retail store that was nothing but a circlejerk. The manger got arrested for statutory rape later that year with a worker.

We have someone on my team who has a "condition" and maybe spends 5 minutes doing anything physical, leaving carts outside to pile up. And, since they know she's a shitty worker, they make me pick up her slack. Honestly, if they can't do their job, condition or not, they should be fired or not even hired in the first place. Hell, one of the floor managers who has to do stocking, straightening, taking shit from the back warehouse, asks me to do her shit for her, then gives me some bullshit saying "I'm doing this to teach you, etc. etc." when I have that experience already. She stopped after someone else reported her to the union. Apparently, most of the managers here have been dealt with by the union before.

I wish my bosses were like you, because for me, going the extra mile just made them rely on me more, make me the go-to person for pretty much everything, and essentially be milked dry like a cow. I can't take pats on the back to the bank. All this did is give me more work to do at work. That's it.

Be glad you got a job making pennies. It could be worse. You could have no job.

>You're living in some kind of trance where you get up and go to work and make money because that's what grown-ups are supposed to do, meanwhile, your kids are gonna be human livestock, and your fucking daughters, if they're pretty, might aspire to be pets!

This guy knows what's up.

Cred Forums's constant RP about nifty fifties work ethic and living in frugality to "save money" is laughable once you realize the depths of the situation we're in.

Don't know why I'm dignifying this with a response, but you are either:

A) Innawoods already
B) Living in your parents basement sponging off the very system you decry
C) In the exact same situation you describe me in

Pick one.

>95 a week
Holy fuck even if you translate that to leaf shekels you're getting fucked. First level apprentice rates here start at 17$/hr for the lower-end skilled trades

here kid take some candy come on its just candy what can go wrong

Ok, I'll bite.

Assuming we are in the situation you say we are in, what do you do about it?

If this goes nuclear, I'm so, so sorry.

I think it will soon. This winter, maybe.

(US expat here, ignore my pekka-flag) It was the same when I worked in Australia, the skilled labor and apprenticeship jobs were 19-20 AUSD/hour, whereas its barely above minimum wage back home in the US.

Learn what? about how 'the ol days were gud, lad'
Fuck
Them
All
Social security is going to be exhausted by 2030 at least, so I'm trapped paying into a system I will never reap benefits from. Any (((wisdom)) I might glean from old fucks is over shadowed by the fact that they don't give a shit about my future.

>she
My best advice is to either cook up your own 'condition' or start doing the bare minimum. Pushing carts is not worth it, especially for some cunt you're not fucking. Call up your union and talk to a rep about what lines are drawn in the contract.

Lol son at your age I had two cars, a house and was married, step it up faggot

GIBS

ME

DAT

Yes the pay was miserable, I was 17 at the time and I guess we had a good time for a year driving around the country but it was a deplorable waste of time. Also in the summer the rail beds are like a fucking oven.
I'm currently earning 290 a week before overtime in a relatively dead end job

He knows what he's got, user. No tire kicking, now.

>buy 88 starion for 1k, have it towed for 200
>year and $1.5k later have cool ass starion to tool around in
I guess they're not all bad but holy fuck craigslist cars is full of retards

Re. your last comment, this does happen. Change employers. Use a specialist retail agency maybe? Don't grumble though.

If you are investing time and effort in something with no returns it's a bad investment.

It's like you have been friendzoned by your employer. No use trying to get them to love you, move on.

>what do you do about it?

Repent you sins and prepare to meet your maker

>Do you think the US is solely populated by trolley boys and greeters?

The entire country? Of course not, but each state is like its own individual country with their own cultures and even economy. For example, I live in California. It has a majority youthful population and instead of being a producing state, it's a consumer state. Retail is essentially the major industry here, and we have college graduates who work at Starbucks. The people who work office jobs, for example are either boomers or imported. Who's hiring? Retail. What do people do? Retail. Go to the mall, and the girls working the clothing store are married with a kid now.

Here's a sad fact. A job like working at Starbucks, GameStop, and especially a nightclub, is considered respectable with status. "Oooooh you work with the hip cool people!" It's like being that cool rockstar kid on the block.

On a side note, people here also don't aspire for anything noteworthy. I've met tons of girls who want to model. Nothing but modeling. Fuck working. Just model. Guys are the same. Just hustle. Be a DJ. Doctor? Noooo, that's too much brain work and effort.

"Yes our generation started mass immigration and its starting to fail, but its to late to turn our backs now"

But mom/dad your grand children will be minorities in their own countries and the establishment are teaching the immigrants to hate whites (your grand children)

"Oh well il be dead when the world turns to crap anyway"

Boomers honestly don't care about anyone but themselves and refuse to plan for the future.

>B) Living in your parents basement sponging off the very system you decry

I live in my dad's old tool shed, separate structure thank you very much, with bug-out bag and rifle ready.

Don't try to brag to me that you're better at this fake ponzi scheme system, that's actually a mark of your LOW intelligence and HIGH neurotypicality, A.K.A. good little worker drone, smart when it comes to being dumb.

A valid response.

Not saying what you say isn't true, but if it is there's fuck all I can personally do about it.

Weird you have a disdain for those in trades.

My builder friends earn 40-50$ an hour meanwhile faggots I know who spent 4+ years at university cant even find a fucking job.

>not gonna talk to older guys
>who might have had previous careers
>whose buddy might have a job coming up
>they're beneath me
>I'm gonna work to rule with union backing
>cos some lazy employee isn't being dealt with in a way I find appropriate
>my future
>my needs
>muh dick

You sound full on autistic and unpleasant to be around. Learn to fake being interested in people or get on with having a povvo life and STFU.

>Assuming we are in the situation you say we are in, what do you do about it?

You're supposed to love freedom, user.

More than you do.

You're going to freeze to death in a toolshed you don't even own when winterchan sets us free

>My best advice is to either cook up your own 'condition' or start doing the bare minimum.

Tried that. Got talked to by the manager. He told me there were complaints that I was "slow." Also had this one cunt of a floor manager (low-level management/supervisors) come out and say "You got all this shit to do! Get going!" Because I'm the good worker, they expect so much from me. I'm literally carrying the team.

I'd love to change employers. This whole topic goes back to my first comment. I want to quit so I can look for work, but having a job looks good on an application, but I'm in a stalemate.

>good little worker drone, smart when it comes to being dumb.

Heh. Nothing could be further from the truth. But I'm old enough to recognize that there's nothing I can really do about it except play along or go innawoods. Other options lead to shorter life expectancies.

Boomers are truly degenerate.

There's nothing wrong with manual labor. The problem I have is when people with cushy jobs soaking in the nice air conditioning unit breeze have the nerve to say they had a long tiring day after burning their lips on their coffee.

>The office is too cold
>It's easy but too quiet and boring
>None of my friends come in with smoothies for me
>My boss didn't buy us lunch today
>Ugh... what a long day.

I hope your dad leaves you enough to live on forever. And the house.

In a few years all the neets will come blinking into the daylight, demanding jobs and futures like SJW tumblrinas, and wonder why they are unemployable.

I hope you aren't one of them because you are particularly unlikeable.

>freeze to death

Actually, if anything, I'll burn to death when the space heater shoots sparks and catches the blankets on fire.

Still a better death than yours, Limey. Go groom the Queen's stool or something.

You talk as if my future and my needs aren't the most important thing to me.
Like your needs and your future aren't the most important thing to you.
Old people should be gassed because they are inconvenient. You're welcome to disagree but you won't convince me otherwise. Next time you have to interact with one really think about what's going on around you.

>Union
or better yet if you can get a doctor to sign off on you having problems
>Lawyer

Don't carry the team, do exactly as your told and nothing more. You set the bar too high and now you have to lower it.
>'user y u no do this?'
>" didn't tell me I had to do it"

In retail it isn't worth doubling down. Always appeal to authority and cover your ass. Your coworkers are not your friends and will throw you under the bus if they think it will let them keep collecting shekels from the company.

The general disdain for trades pisses me off.

The birthrate isn't that low in the western world, the problem is the disdain that no one wants to work those jobs so we have to import shitskins etc. to fill them out.

Too many stories in DK about highly educated people who can't find their snowflake job and now refuses to work as a simple guy in a mart f.example, untill the dreamjob is available.

>looks at flag
>checks out
kek

Office work sucks. I can't do it. It is quite tiring and because it isn't physically demanding people get fat and don't sleep well. Also underworked people bitch like fuck. If it was a straight choice between office work or manual work I would do the latter.

>Why did some states not require licensing at all until 1937?
Because electricity was nothing like it is today.

>You'll come crawling back to Neo-Babylon eventually!
>Who is like unto the Beast?
>Who can make war against him?

Save yourself.

That picture perfectly describes the average boomer though, sad as it may be.

>"Now I'm not a racist user, and you aren't either. It's not racist to hate the lazy do-nothing black people because, oh heck, I'd still hate them if they were white too. There are some nice blacks who have worked hard and are above acting like this, but most of the time all you hear about is the bad ones and unfortunately that's because there's a lot of 'em. Being a racist means you hate them only because of their race, but I don't hate those blacks because they're black, I hate them because the lazy blacks are lazy and blame it all on white people."
>dad makes a joke about a black guy stubbing his toe and blaming it on THE WHITE DEVIL

I love being in a conservative family.

I get a Mark Passio vibe here, brother, you're a good man. I wish you the best.

Yup. Rings true here too. Boomers are the worst investors in history.

Any boomer that invested wisely has made bank, but they are few and far between.

Yeah ok. I don't think your strategy will work for you long term, but frankly that is your problem. You sound like a terrible employee too, but that isn't my problem.

Do what I did user.

Beat the living shit out of her when she went on a drunken tirade about how I am a failure just like my father.

Yeah, my dead dad who was a mechanic who paid for everything she does with his life.

Everyone says boomers ruined the economy, but no one says how.
Feminism. The amount of workers doubled. The number of jobs didn't go up.

>hate job
>pays too well to quit
>because I have no degree

The only applicable skill I have is automotive, and I don't want to take a five dollar pay cut and go down to twenty hours a week as a lube monkey.

But I have to work overnights which kill me because I try to fit my national guard shit into my life (I typically try to go more than the one weekend). And school shit as well.

That and I cannot stand working with women any more, not a single one will ever leave her emotions at the door, I can't get through a single shift without some suggestive sexual jokes, everybody is passive aggressive and tries to do extra work to prove they're as good as the one man working, then they bitch to each other that "user didn't do this and that, I had to."

I miss the big army where you knew your place and your job and everyone was blunt and people at least respected your masculinity.

Just put me to sleep already

>Don't carry the team, do exactly as your told and nothing more

But I am doing as I'm told. I'm asked by the assistant manager himself to do all these extra tasks. Just a week ago I spent an entire day scraping tape glue, rust, dust, and milk scum from refrigeration units with a scraper and goop/glue remover.

>"user. I need you to take care of this spill in the warehouse"

Floor manager. They make me do it because everyone else in my position is lazy or incompetent.

>"user. Anonette (person next on cart duty) said there's still carts on the lot. Can you go back out and do more?"

Got told that by another floor manager who has authority over me. There's always going to be stray carts etc. There's always customers making more stray carts. Oh, but because it's 100 degrees outside for the last two months, she decided to weasel her way out of her duty.

>"user. I need you to downstack this heavy loaded palette and deliver these heavy items to all the departments."

This also isn't my job. This again was another thing the assistant manager asked me to do. Saying no would get me in trouble. He's the boss.

I can go on with this list. The fact is, all of these things I'm told to do are from people who are my bosses. I cannot say no without problems happening to me.

*votes for job killing politicians*
Why are kids today so damn lazy?
*sits on ass all day watching shitty tv*

This is quite a recent thing. We used to export builders until the 90s. There was even a tv show about it, really popular. Loads of guys went to work in Europe or the Middle East or the US. The government decided to up the numbers of kids in university so now it's not worth anything. Everyone aspires to an office job, meanwhile plumbers are making bank.
So Polskis come over to make money and thousands of account leaders and systems analysts get butthurt.

Tbf, with rents as high as they are it is hard to change careers and retrain. Which is why it is important to have a support network, for your own resilience.

Implying the queens rump doesn't have a 24/7 assistant

>stop losing weight it's unhealthy

No wonder you country is shit Pierre.

You have no idea. My folks are rich and keep pulling all this money out of their assholes, and their house looks like a palace. I keep telling them they should open up a business, but they think it's too risky. They have a golden opportunity just by selling liquor for all these drunken 20-somethings.

I would prefer factory work, pallet stacking or whatever to retail. Dealing with people is more tiring than actual hard work.

I'm telling you to appeal to a higher authority. If you're actually as valuable as you claim ask for a raise or threaten to quit. Chances are, you are not actually the protagonist of this planet. So talk to your gott damn union. They exist so that you don't get fucked doing things you aren't getting paid for.

If you do what you love, you'll never have to work a day in your life!

>Son, give me one of your kidneys
>No

What exactly is the problem here? It's just a supermarket job. Find another one. You are being taken advantage of by people too lazy to manage sullen, useless individuals. Some user advises you to become a sullen, useless individual.

Maybe cut your losses? Don't tell me you don't get any days off to go job hunting. You are just depressed from being bullied at work. You have to change it.

Speaking of this.

>Comes home from work
>"Time to watch TV shows about people working."

>Shows about remodeling houses
>Shows about electricians and plumbers inspecting houses
>Shows about people mining for gold
>Shows about people fishing for crabs
>Shows about truckers
>Shows about lumberjacks
>Shows about people selling junk

All you gotta do is make a show about people doing a blue-collar job, add a guy with biker tattoos, and throw in some staged drama, and the boomers will watch that shit daily around 5pm before their crime dramas come on before bedtime.

Liquor store? Fraught with risks. Not saying it isn't worth doing. But planning is a pain. Licensing is a pain. Stockholding is a pain. Security and stock loss is a pain. Actual robberies are a pain. And the markup isn't that high. Profit margins are slim. In the UK most liquor stores (off licences) went bust as supermarkets undercut them.

Alright. I'll try to argue with the union. Sadly, I'm not signed up for it. I thought I could save money by not joining. Guess I should have.

My days off are random. Every week has a different schedule. I do look for work, but so far nothing new yet.

Fuckin Alan Watts, man. I still consider him to be a great speaker, but he was idealistis/dishonest as fuck telling boomer hippies this. Should've straight up oust told it straight: “Find an easy scam and work it”. I have a friend who’s a self-taught artist, loves doing what he does and makes a killing, but he works his ASS off to keep up with the upper class Moscow market, works more than any wageslave.

Creativity is important

Ok well good luck user. You're in a tough situation. It won't always be like this, I guess that's all I'm trying to say.

I'm going now, got to change the oil in my car.

Son, I'm so sorry, I've always been so proud of you.

I don't want you to remember me like this, remember me how i was.

I'm so...sorry...

The victim mentality in this thread is worse than that of feminists/sjws/niggers combined.

Did this a couple weeks ago, actually got a job. Not much of a job, though. Waiting tables at Denny's. Then again, they did hire me with no experience, which their website said they would refuse to do.

No. Something like a club of some sort. Just by rave night alone this one place makes lots of money just to give an excuse for all these slutty cosplay girls to hang around at. 30 bucks a customer, and maybe 500 people average for just a few hours into the early AM.

Take what you can, while you can and get out. Nobody lives forever so you might as well get while the getting is good.

>telling everyone they're really talented inflating kids egos and teaching them not to work hard cause they can get by on "talent" alone

THESE NO GOOD MILLENIALS AM I RIGHT FELLOW BOOMERS?

My favorite

>we will be the boomers when our children (lol) are growing up
>when I was younger I got a job and paid off my student load debt before I was 40!
>while they are popping a radaway between shifts enslaved at the human meat processing plant
>kids these days just need to work harder
kek

Don't forget that the rate that house prices are increasing is greatly outstripping the rate that wages are increasing

>You just need to buckle down and get saving! That's what I did!

You sound as bad as those people desu, office work can be just as hard work as manual labour and is certainly much more stressful.

I love this one

>Why would you need a job? Isn't tertiary still free? We voted it out you say? You're damn right, we had to work for it and so should you.

I've done it before. It was a cake walk. I used to work as a receptionist.

>This works great for jobs that pay $9/hour and cap at $10 and/or earn tips
we know

Consultant is boomer code for 'Contractor'.

Boomers and their fucking titles man.

How do Boomers feel knowing Millennials are waiting to inherit their houses?

>receptionist

That's not really an office job at all.

This. Usually brings them back down to earth.

You are delusional

There are not as many jobs in construction / manual jobs as there used to be, it's as simple as that

Britain used to have a thriving manufacturing industry but that is almost completely gone now, because everything is made in China.

We used to have a thriving motoring industry, and now we only have factories of foreign car makers like Nissan and Mini (owned by BMW).

>There are not as many jobs in construction / manual jobs as there used to be, it's as simple as that
Which is why all those Mexican/Polish/... day laborers are doing nothing but construction / manual jobs, right?

It was more than answering phones. Sure it was clerical work like sorting mail, doing faxes and preparing meetings, but there was more to it than using switchboard software.

Doesn't happen in the US. Most boomers move out into boomer communities and sell their house to the commercial industry to either be torn down or converted into a doctors office. Family isn't important.

>What do you mean you're not going into debt to get a degree?
>Do you want to flip burgers for your whole life?

Bonus round:

>What? Just because you have a 60,000 dollars degree, you think you're too good to flip burgers?

Fuck me, I once went to a job interview where I was being interviewed by the head of HR, the HOD for IT (it was an IT position) and some random cunt who didn't say anything the entire interview

The interview was an hour of

>What does [insert corporate HR buzzword] mean to you?
>What does [insert synonym of previously used corporate HR buzzword] mean to you.

The IT HOD asked me a single question; "Can you weld?"

A whole hour and I didn't get asked anything about my skills, experience, or qualifications. I ended up self-sabotaging the interview.

I fucking hate HR bitches.

This.

At the very least, in the field, if some shitbird was fucking off too much you could just beat the shit out of him, or at least call him out with no repercussion

>Football helmets and football pads being delivered to a bowling ally.

Jesus Christ are other countries this retarded?

>I wish my bosses were like you, because for me, going the extra mile just made them rely on me more, make me the go-to person for pretty much everything, and essentially be milked dry like a cow. I can't take pats on the back to the bank. All this did is give me more work to do at work. That's it.

This is the reality of the world. Being a hard-worker means you get rewarded with extra work that the slackers don't have to do anymore. But promotions/rewards will still be given to the guy who's mates with the boss man though,

Bank teller, part time. With nothing but a high school degree.

Tradies are fucking raking it in though, especially if you fuck off down to the shakey city.

You spend years on less than minimum wage first though.

I didn't say those jobs don't exist you moron, I said there's fewer of them

Maybe I should go and get a manual job, I fucking love working outdoors, but a) I don't think I have many practical skills to sell in that area and b) I can probably make more money in a desk job

>I said there's fewer of them
Bullshit.

My fucking sides.

>Complaining about the people who created the internet on an online board

Its like shitskins talking shit about Anglos in English

>There are not as many jobs

Yup it's exactly what I said actually

And it's bullshit.

>they created something so they're exempt from all criticism
M00t gave us Cred Forums but is still a little jew, britbong.

Hi /o/

Idgaf about moot
Japmoot is way better

That's not how it works in America, pal.

How do these threads turn into Boomers vs Milennials?

How does gen X (boomers' kids) dodge the flak?

>actually created the standard of college being the "golden ticket"
>were the generation to start mass divorce rates
>low points of wealth creation while being in their 20s at the high points of late 70s/early 80s buying power
>just as inept with tech as boomers despite growing up in its creation unlike boomers

Pretty sure this Boomers vs Millenials shit was started by coal burning, wage stagnating Gen Xers.

Friend, some advice for you:

I worked for 2 weeks in tourism (basically service industry), and basically the same thing happened to me: for the sake of doing things right and offering nothing but my hardest effort, I ended up doing everybody else's work. Like you, although you've certainly worked a lot more than I did. Those 2 weeks convinced me to never work services again.

Here's your problem - if you give people perfection and excellence everyday, eventually they'll start taking it for granted, and when you still do a great job, but not as perfect as the other times, they won't realize that you're still performing very well - you've already spoiled them with hard work, so it'll look like you're slacking.

Try not to go above and beyond everything you do - do your job, but never go 100% everytime, everyday, or else you won't ever get a promotion because, as you've already seen, people will want to you keep around for favors and for you to work for them instead.

Poor oppressed millennials. The boomer-archy must be destroyed.

Are you me?

kys ivory coast boomerlover

Next time your mother speaks to like that straight up tell her she is a vapid cunt

So much fucking this. Factory workers are such good little goyim and if you question the narrative they treat you like shit.

Well we are still living in boomer times. You are a boomer.
>Fertility isn't in the toilet
>Reasonable expectation of a job
>Property isn't beyond a person's reach as long as they are realistic about their social class
>Good pensions

Confirmed for pog

"What do you mean you're a girl? No, you have a fucking dick and testicles, son."

>If
Sadly, this is not the rule, but the exception.

Ugh, I know right, like, can they not?

That's really sad.

>Females never asked to do tasks, because why not let the man (me) do it?
Every job I've ever done has had some element of this, from retail to farming to factory work, and not once have I ever seen it work the other way, where women were exepected to do anything the men weren't already doing. You're right man, it's bullshit

Here, have a victim card on me.
