Alright. I'm going to try and steer the thread back to the topic. I was literally about to comment on the astonishing level of civility in a Cred Forums thread.... Anyway.

I'm not an old fag. Just a mere 27...but if I can offer anything I've learned - fuck it.

1) Hide your power level. Don't discuss politics or religion at work. People you (had to) get along with will then become labels that incessantly burn in your mind. "That Hillary supporter" or that "feminist". I do this at university. For god's sake, I live in Ottawa, Ontario. Admission of being a conservative in many circles is social suicide. And as we have seen examples of - career suicide.

2) Always vote.
3) Exercise. Join a coed sports league. At minimum, it forces you to both exercise and socialize. Put in effort.
4) Present yourself modestly to people. Develop your own style. Be "that guy that wears such and such" or wear upper level casual garments. It's a confidence boost.
5) Spend the little bit of extra money for decent food. Research nutrition. Take a multi-vitamin.
Be gracious.
6) For the more sperg types, which I'd still include myself as... watch stand up comedy and build up a repertoire of borrowed lines to throw out while chatting groups or women up. Most people don't watch it and you get insta-cred.

If this is all obvious shit. Whatever. Fuck it. Some of this I had to learn the hard way or it took forever to learn.

7) Tone down the booze and the drugs. If you can, cut out the drugs and just have a pint once a week - it'll taste that much better. With that, experiment with your taste.

8) Limit your time on fruitless activities. As I've heard others suggest here before... have a health-improving hobby and a pleasure-seeking hobby. Personally, I lift and on the side, I play guitar.
