I wrote this in another thread and saw that it was blessed by kek after I wrote in after falling into a weird trance. So I repeat it here:
TEXT: This movie makes an excellent point, really.
The main character has no ideology, has no friends, has no connections.
All he has is a work ethic and a "family man urge," both frustrated by the SJW-izing of society, symbolized by his loss of work as a defense contractor and his wife leaving him as he becomes more desperate.
At one point, a neo-Nazi tries to recruit him, and he refuses and ends up killing the neo-Nazi.
That part was not thrown in there to PC-ify the movie or make it easier for us to identifty with him. That bit was making an important point: neo-Nazis are loudmouthed fuckheads who can't help but attention whore, making them easy to watch and control, but people like the main character--competent, angry, educated, smart and adrift--are, in fact, MORE dangerous than neo-Nazis, because they are not looking for an ideology and are not "joiners." They are looking for a way to CONTRIBUTE to the society they worked to build and strengthen and defend.
When the rug of normalcy and decency is pulled far enough and fast enough out from under normal, hard-working people like Douglas' character, watch the fuck out...
The movie is a warning, whether it meant to be or not.
Luke Wood
sounds like a good watch, OP
Tyler Hughes
1st half of film: great
2nd half of film: dumb as shit as they backpedal and make Michael Douglas's character look crazy instead of society.
Daniel Edwards
I'm D-Fens, the rest of you are just army surplus fags.
Luke Cooper
I thought rampage was interesting in a similar fashion, especially the ending.
Luis Murphy
Neo-Nazis are ***Cargo cult national socialists*** or FBI agents.
Brody Young
i remember this movie. I need to watch it again, i havent seen it in almost ten years.
Justin Davis
and by interesting I mean the reactions of the townspeople. The women who cowered together next to an open window. The cops who were taken by surprise, the old people who didn't react.
Christopher Rogers
>Alt-Right *cringe*
Hunter Watson
its an amazing film OP
it should be destroyed by remaking it as to actually make Michael Douglas into le evil nazi who is actually harassing his family and assaulting his wife and daughter.
That or put a womyn POC in the main role, in a lesbian marriage, because nothing decent should be associated iwith a fucking white male.
Carson Anderson
Its like the amber lamps movie where the bus agitator who sat down and cried after one punch was recast as a neonazi mafia.
Elijah Campbell
He dies in the end, no "victory" over anybody. It's been a while since I've seen the movie but if I remember correctly the "moral of the story" was that he was consumed by rage and in the end it got him killed. I still thought the movie overall was good but this is the type of "lesson" a liberal would try to teach people. "You need to be more tolerant and less hateful of people. Otherwise all that toxic hate will destroy you". So yeah, terrible analogy, go fuck yourself.
Nathaniel Martin
This feels to me like the "teleports behind u" of middle aged men. Lose their job, wife, but watch out! This goyim is angry at the world!!!
Leo Sanders
>rage will destroy you he was pretty much already destroyed, he just decided to be violent rather than try and start over.
Maybe that is why buckets or crabs are violent.
Jonathan Ross
Excellent theory
>That part was not thrown in there to PC-ify It may have been:
1) They made the store owner mysogynistic homophobe who gets BTFO by Dfens for many reasons 2) the black guy being refused a bank loan for being black and receiving Dfens sympathy - if anything they give loans out too much to poor people
if it wasn't purely PC masquerading as anti-PC
Jaxson Brooks
I think there should be a "see women for what they are" aspect as well.
Ryder Martin
>le ebin alt-rite xD
Juan Gutierrez
>comic book character meets real life
Brandon Adams
The guy actually did have anger problems and repeatedly threatened his wife with violence.
She wasn't making it up.
Zachary Walker
Why did they make so many red pilled movies in the 80s?
It's like someone from 2016 Cred Forums went back in time and made "Falling Down", "They Live", "The Bonfire of the Vanities", etc.
Jackson Cox
they were parodies of reaganism
Jack King
Comment from the shitty rotten tomatoes article:
>What a horseshit review. My God, did you feel proud of yourself writing this. I can almost picture you pleasuring yourself with a WiffleBall bat while reading it to yourself after you posted it. What a load of PC crap. The movie isn't in any way about any of what you try to make it. How are you allowed to write for Rotten Tomatoes? Go impress your friends with how "woke" you are and shut the fuck up.
Tyler Morris
The Network is '76 and it is all about fake media, globalism and the Saudis.
It is literally my favorite movie
Oliver Wilson
>they were parodies No they weren't. People genuinely had patriotism during the Reagan era. Once faggot ass Nirvana came around, everybody started being apathetic and whiny.
Xavier Diaz
Don't forget RoboCop
Xavier Torres
>80s patriotism
Daniel Garcia
>adding a "The" to Network >favorite movie
Best Verhoeven after Total Recall
Brandon Perez
The is an article used to precede nouns.
Go fuck yourself in the butt.
Asher Richardson
...
Angel Myers
you mean "Badass" ? I keep ignoring it on Netflix after I realized what it was based on, I bet that old man didn't even see a nickel from that
Jackson Watson
Its a 2 minute YouTube video made to fill 120 minutes.
Joseph Murphy
>muh finding a stronk woman attractive after she says she wants to steal your job >then dating her >then yelling and drinking and being in despair to appear masculine so her "more masculine predicitions" have phony pushback from the buffoonish men.
It's feminist/communist trash and I didn't even get into the black panther bullshit.
Jace Brooks
But how many stars did you give it?
Fuck off Ebert and Roeper, no one cares about your fucking memelord movie reviews.
Mason Morales
>He dies in the end
No, the meaning of the movie is that he dies at the beginning, killed by everything he believed in and was actually artificial. Once "dead" he becomes a logical animal, and the killing at the end is just the last social construct, the bitter one.
Jack Rogers
>alt-right
this
adding terminator 2
Ryder Russell
ya but the movie isn't called The Network, that's like calling waterworld, The Waterworld. Robert fuckin' Osborne doesn't get paid thousands a year to go on TMC and call it The Network. you probably think Bruce willis' character name in Die Hard is Die Hard
Hunter Ortiz
No way. The second half of the film is even better, as he's finally given up on society and decides to become destructive because he sees there is no going back
Oliver Gomez
"Falling Down" came out in '93.
Austin Barnes
What if Zelda was a girl?
Colton Perez
>The is an article used to precede nouns. You really showed me, faggot
>that's like calling waterworld, The Waterworld Good choice user
Andrew Green
Great movie.
Appearing to be 100% pure redpill, it slyly delivers a bluepill *antidote* to Death Wish.
Viewers finish the movie seeing the world the way a rich liberal Jew sees Los Angeles.
Thus the goyish impulse to revolt in the face of their middle-class utopia declining into a degenerate dystopia - an inevitability in a system built on free trade and globalism - is made ugly and foolish, neatly subverted, and dissipated.
Yes, the ultimate redpill movie.
This is why I continue to pimp it on Cred Forums -- so that you Cred Forumslacks will finally learn the wisdom of Confucius: when rape becomes inevitable, relax, and learn to enjoy it.
Austin James
"You're gonna like that, faggot. You're gonna like that you faggot fuck!"
Chase Gonzalez
Oh please, the whole concept behind the movie can be summed up by some of D-Fens last words "I'm the bad guy?" Making all middle-class workers with dreams of a family the bad guys. It is shit GTFO kike
Alexander Baker
The black guy wasn't poor though, he was protesting whilst wearing a white collar shirt, probably worked in an office, reflecting what had happened to Dfens himself
Brody Nguyen
I got to see this in the theater when it came out. Fucking loved the movie.
Kevin Evans
>alt right >he literally kills the nazi
>le poor minorites subplot throughout this movie >le man who works for defense agency goes nuts from being wound too tight because hes conservative
this movie is pure SJW garbage that was made by a pedophile homo director
