You guys are ignoring how obvious of damage control this is. Look at the good, and STILL left-leaning, polls from Reuters and Economist. In those polls Trump is only down by 1 or tied. In addition, he's ahead in the Fox Poll which conglomerates a Democrat and Republican run poll to avoid bias.

Fucking NBC's poll is up on RCP twice, which came out VERY strong for Hillary, and now they've excluded Rasmussen completely and are instead using the McClatchy poll which is so fucking left-learning even the most blue-pilled morons can see it. On top of that LA Times started reducing Trump's score day by day and recently endorsed Clinton on their site.

The media is in FULL Damage Control Mode now. They're creating a narrative that she's doing fine and giving her a buffer when she inevitably flounders during the debates.

I follow the John C. Dvorak and Adam Curry model of polling.

The polls are meant to attract advertising dollars from one candidate or another.

The current change in the RCP polling index is meant to push Trump to spend advertising dollars (Which he isn't doing). If he were to appear in the lead then he would really NOT need to spend advertising dollars and Hillary would need to double time it to the point of absurdity with her advertising buys.

the LA times poll wasn't just "reducing" Trump's score, it was posted before the poll ended and was regularly updated as new data came in.

Why? Different polls come out. All it takes is 2 or 3 polls where hillary is above 2 points for the average to shift.
An entire 7 days of shifts and its a surge, 2 or 3 days is a natural correction. If she doesn't take any more hits by the debate, then you can say she's gaining ground.
