Does the Quran say JUST kill the unbelievers, or does it say kill the unbelievers only if they attack you? My Muslim father says the latter.
He is a hardcore libertarian/constitutionalist and is OK with basically all forms of degeneracy. Speaks perfect English and has an western accent, you'd never know he was Muslim unless he told you. Not an argument. I think so too (because from what I hear on here Islam says to kill the unbelievers) and I also think there are no good Muslims because Islam is a bad religion but I need proof. It says first you warn them that they must submit, either convert or accept dhimmitude; if they resist, you kill them. Islam MUST spread until the dar al-Harb (house of unbelievers/war) is replaced entirely by the dar al-Islam (house of faith/peace). It's the one commandment of Allah through Mohammad; it's literally the point of being a Muslim, to spread Islam until the world us Muslim, by the sword if necessary.

There are Islamic scholarly texts ranging in origin from the age of Mohammed to the present day, IIRC they're referred to as 'hadiths' or some shit like that. Therein are contained said instructions. Some Muslims such as the Wahabbi sect refer to these texts, selectively as is convenient to the justification of their otherwise secular politics. There's no such instructions explicitly within the Quran itself.
