>all that shit was 10 years ago
Jesus Christ they weren't kidding when they said time goes by faster as you get older, that shit seems like 4-6 years ago for me.

Do you think he hangs out with Moot and talks about old times since they both work for google now?

Years get shorter as you get older. It's like frame of reference but with time passing. When you're a child the years are long because a year is a larger fraction of your entire life and memory. As you get older that fraction gets smaller and smaller and so time is steadily speeding up for you.

the 2000s were a terrible time for music.

For me it was around age 26. Everything since then has been a blur! I'm 36 now.

...

Also when you're younger everything is newer to you so you're more likely to remember it whereas when you get older your mind takes stuff for granted and just files it away in the back of your mind

So there were still shitty music, movies and TV shows? Who could've guessed!

anyone else think 2006 felt like about 10 years ago
time must only go by fast for boring plebs

>2006
>All liberals care about are saving the polar bears and gay marriage

>2012+4
>liberals are full blown cultural Marxists

There are tonnes of Googles in that video.

Actually your brain has a timekeeping mechanism that pulses at a steady rate, but as you age it slows down, so even if you forgot your entire life up to now, time would still seem to pass about as quick for you as it does now, and continue speeding up at the same rate.

Good lord, I see my childhood flashing before my eyes. this was all really just 2006? I was 14 then, good lord.

WTF is this. If you remember any of this pleb shit you are a normie.

>2006 was 100 years ago

I have no connection with anything I saw in that video. I don't know what any of that crap was. Could have come out this year for all I know.

Please don't make me think about this.

whoa giant enemy crab
i haven't thought about that in years
rrriiiiiddddggee racer

I had this realization Sophomore year

That was 10 years ago? God damn.

>The old youtube control bar
YOU FEEL IT TOO DON'T YOU

Early-mid 2000s were comfy as fuck, second only to the late 90s. When you go back, the propaganda is still there though, just more subtle.

to be really honest
2016 -> 2006 really didn't change that much
2006 -> 1996 is a whole new level of change
t. typing on a 7 year old PC

I miss the old youtube interface even if the site itself was worse with actually playing the videos.

The first half of the year I was ending my freshman year of high school

The second half of the year i was starting my sophomore year.

Tbh, 2006 was an uneventful year for me and I dont recall much. 2005 and 2007 were better

this?

yes

I think a lot has changed since 2006

>Smartphones didnt exist
>Liberals havent gone full Marxists and takes over society
>Internet wasn't as centralized
>recession didn't fuck the world up yet

2006 was the worst year of my life
>middle school sucked
>dad got laid off
>mom was depressed and suicidal
>brother was killed in Iraq

I hate that fucking year with every ounce of hate in my body. Not once was I happy

Member when the internet was free?

TIME KEEPS ON SLIPPIN SLIPPIN SLIPPIN

INTO THE FUTURE

Actually it's strange... nothing has really changed at all in the past 10 years. Look at the media the same shit pop-bands, stupid rap lyrics, tv/kid shows, movies, and fuckin hell with all the remakes of good classic movies.

What the fuck has really changed? Mudslimes getting blown up? Google President? Canadians?

Too coon man!

youtube.com/watch?v=30yxHqSUva8

real nostalgia video

I hate these threads but I can't stay out of them. I'm almost 30. This period of time was fucking strange. I'm having trouble finding the words to describe it.

2006 was a great year for animu.

2007 was when it all started to come tumbling down.

Old YouTube was cool, their redesigning is shit. Really hate all this flat shit

I think i am more the person of the year now than i was then

I know that feel. I'm 32 now and I really can't figure out any way to define the time between 04 to now really

I graduated high school in 2006. It was okay.

I used to browse Youtube on my wii with it looking like that. Also porn.

>Smartphones, social media, the recession, PC culture and the whole SJW takeover
A lot has changed since 2006
It's like comparing YouTube before it got swarmed with massive faggots to today's Youtube

>hangs out with Moot
Why would anyone willing do that to themselves?

yeah, all the old fags have left.

The entertainment in the 2006 video looked much more segregated than today. Makes me miss the pre-SJW era.

>Steve Irwin's been dead for TEN YEARS

I'm only 19
Stop making me feel old

I graduated high school in '05. Maybe a lot of other people feel the way that we do. Of course being 18-22 isn't necessarily the best time of most people's lives. I remember having no direction and doing the bare minimum of what was expected like going to college. But I keep getting back to how strange it was. It's almost like it was an "in between" era.

Holy shit. Could we make Pepe "person of the year" for 2016???

Holy fuck that pic

The reason everything went to shit is literally because of social networking.

It conditioned people to make privacy become a social taboo. This can be seen in the overwhelmingly weak reaction to the NSA leaks showing that the US government is spying on its own citizens. This is because fagbook encourages people to share everything anyways.

Social media also gives people an unwarranted sense of self importance. None of this identity politics shit would be around or so strong today if it weren't for zuckerburg and co giving these retards a megaphone and an slacktivist audience to make them seem strong.

Technology, Race Relations, Terrorism, Shit economy and job market,

i was first diagnosed with eds in 06, spent most of the year in incredible pain, just like every year before and after that

aside from that, it was a happy year you know, before the recession

i've got the same feeling too
96->06 everything i learned about technology needs to be discarded
06->16 most of the stuff i learned is still relevant...
it's like we're plateauing or something

I legitimately wish I could go back and relive 2006, it was the best period of my life.

Checked

Welcome to the NHK changed my life

It is an anime that, ironically, helped me steer away from becoming a NEET

Video is still up, neat

HOLY SHIT! KEK IS IN THE VIDEO

Remember back then the number one rule for people starting to use the internet was
>Don't give out real information on the internet

I blame Obama and the iPhone
the iPhone fucked up our culture and Obama fucked up politics and the economy

Yeah, the Bush/Iraq years, when being a leftist was considered counter culture.

That's funny actually thinking about that. It used to be "Never tell people where you live or how old you are online" but now it's pretty much standard internet use. Funny

I miss the styles of phones that companies would make before the iphone, ever since then they're all just generic copy-pasted touchscreen bricks.

To all the soft pussies out there on a verge of breaking into crying hysterically:

youtube.com/watch?v=t_RwcGzGurc

Is that the Juke?

>Cred Forums was just becoming world-famous in the media in 2006
>HD was only going to be introduced to Youtube in the coming year or so.
>HD would lead to an explosion of amazing, independently produced content from all over the world. I've seen a relative decline in the production of violent "rap" videos for blacks - I think this is a good example of how poisonous the centralised media industry really was, black content has become increasingly white - which is a good thing. Less country music too.
>Smartphones hadn't really taken off

Music in that video is just too British for me to care.

I don't give a damn about your Fratellis or Sugababes. 2006 is the year of emo pop, ringtone rap, and Justin Timberlake.

>skype shill
to the chamber

I still need to play that game already.
;_;
No you were just in high school in 2006 so it was cooler.

>used to watch college students pranking each other in their dorms or around campus all the time as a middle schooler, in grainy 480p
>college campuses looked so fun and the people seemed to friendly
>fantasized about all the wacky hijinks i'd get up to as a college student with my friends
>graduated high school a few years ago
>moved away from high school friends
>everyone on campus is totally different from the videos i watched in 2006
>literally everyone just stares at their phones all the time even while walking around campus, people bump into me because they dont even watch where they're going
>basically impossible to meet anyone outside of bars and clubs
>even then all the people i meet are degenerates whose only idea of fun is getting high and having hookups
>tfw all i do is stay inside and play video games on my pc and shitpost
>tfw no gf

can u tldr this

>17000 views in 10 years

just

>black content has become increasingly white
The reverse is also true.

I find it a bit unnerving how much of our sense of a given time is entertainment manufactured by globalist entities.

With that said, while I remember a lot of this content, I don't get nostalgia from it -- but rather, from from more specific things in my day-to-day life during that time.

But yeah, everything has seemingly changed since then.

Cool pepe

I also remember back then that email services did not require phone numbers

Now? Even more dangerous if a leak happened.

Non - connected physics experiments prove or (heavily suggest) we are living in a simulation, your consciousness is on another dimension and it's immortal.

I don't think that's true. What we're witnessing is the dead of centralised mass-media. This means that those who are still "watching TV" for example are getting the trashiest stuff imaginable, because it's targetted at people with no taste. Go watch the first few MTV Music Awards and see how white they were compared to this years one - with its worship of Beyonce, Drake, etc. All the ads on TV where I live are for life insurance, and TV and other online mainstream news sources have become 100% feminist.

We can literally discard that shit because most people are now getting their content online - most of it is more sophisticated, intelligent, "white", and high quality.

It's the same dynamic you have with the election - mainstream politicians being forced to respond to memes that originate online which they do not understand, trying desperately to pander to those who are still stuck within the mainstream.

>the 2000's are now nostalgic just like the 90's

>imagined high school would be like a John Hughes movie
>fantasized about in college being like Matt Damon's character in Good Will Hunting
>instead, spent those eight years alone and depressed
>24 now

Welp

>tfw I was 13 a decade ago

Im wasting my life.

I have ehlers danlos too. Shit sucks. I'm nostalgic for before I was in pain.

...

That took me back... quite... a bit.

Thanks, OP.

Anyone else feel like 2008 marked the down fall of... just about everything?

I just became so unhappy. Nothing feels right anymore. I feel cold.

The only at least half-decent thing in the entire video was Snakes on a Plane. Goddamn 2006 sucked.

9/11 marked the downfall of everything, shit just got even worse in 08.

Look at the comments in this video, there are others who agree.

>Expecting us to know the difference between 2006 degenerate nigger culture and 2016 degenerate nigger culture
>Expecting us to care

You can slow it down by filling it, though, or if a lot of things happen. Like 2016 has been a really slow year due to all the wew lads.

wow I don't remember shit

>Ben 10 was 10 years ago
Dear god

youtu.be/GFlCxPRxFrI

Anyone remember this?

Not really that different

Worse economy

Internet has increased in importance

Similar govt repression since 2001

Islam has increased in power and importance

China has all but finished off the US economy

>be genXfag
>see @1:17 in New Radicals video
>remember when alternative girls were fun to be around and not to be petrified of ruining your life over some little thing

Remember when YouTube was actually good? You could leave video responses, customize your channel page, being monetized was actually an honor and not something a 7-year old could do after posting one minecraft video. Now everything is just one big white block. It's so fucking ugly now.

oh fuck yes

I REMEMBER THIS ONE

I REMEMBER

youtu.be/USFk4Z-IA3I

I feel like I've wasted my life so far. Like even as a kid I had the mindset that I just need one more thing to finally be happy and he a complete peron. First it was a car, then gf, job, degree, etc and that I was behind other people my age if I didnt have those. Id even compare myself to characters on TV.

NORMIE SHIT.. NORMIE SHIT EVERYWHERE...

bank your items

2006 was fucking TERRIBLE. wow

What is this?

Is this the first decade ever people will feel literally no nostalgia for? I mean to be fair its probably had a few good years but 2006 is so close to 2016 I don't see anything to be nostalgic for.

What is better now?

Do you think human "culture" is speeding up as well? So much music, media, ideas, technological changes, are coming so rapidly that the shitty music pushed out now a days is rapidly buried and forgotten about. Back in 2009 it was all about that justin kid and poker face woman. Their music careers didn't last more than a few years. Musicians are recycling so fast and their music dumped that I can't keep track anymore.

t. 28 year old

You don't develop the nostalgia until it's after the fact. Look forward to looking back with longing on pepe events, iphones, and 1080p.

2006 is when I got away from primary school and away from my bullies.

Didn't it have a few more changes between that and now? I honestly don't remember using youtube much back then.
>Mfw google.videos is no more.
>Old videos are silent because lolsongcopyright.
>All those deleted/private videos on my like list.
What did you use to like watching on the tubes back then Cred Forums?
I liked WoW machinimas.

So reincarnation is a thing?
We're basically just brains in a cell that unplugs from one life to plug into the next?
Feels good man, makes death not seem so bad.
BECAUSE

This guy is a quack. A QUACK. None of this shit has been peer-reviewed. Any academic physicists wouldn't even bother to listen to him.

unfortunately justin bieber is still in the top 40 charts.

>time literally did a (you) cover

He merely talks about two famous experiments.

The results are open for interpretation.

You are welcome to come up with your own unique theory.

94 fag here. It's kinda funny since most of the things I nostalgia over are millenial-late 90's stuff.
>Toonami midnight run
>Early Adult Swim
>PS2 and NGC before normalfags at large got into vidya.
>WoW machinima
>Red vs Blue
if only mobile phones didn't become mini-shiposting machines and big bang theory didn't become popular.

Honestly 2016 flew by for me.
Being on the Trump train really sped things up.

You know, time really gets faster as yoi get older. It's proven that your nervous system reacts much slower as you age; I'd be surprised if your perception of time doesn't change.

>Red vs Blue
My god how long has it been? I don't even remember 90% of the stuff that happened.

Coming up on the end of season 14 now. Once they invented the plot in season 6, shit got crazy.

looking shit like this makes me feel depressed
we've changed so much in so little time

people like to put 9/11 as the date where evrything started going to shit

i think that people were happier and more optimistic about the world all the way until 2008
the recession and the advent of smartphones+social media fucked it all up

You are officially my nigga.

>Listening to that New Radicals song.
>Never even listened to them back then. Was a dadrockfag/weebfag growing up.
Fuck I feel like I've heard this in a tv show or something.
>Like this kinda music more now compared to what I use to like.

All I remember is
>Bow chicka wow wow.
and
>I'm a gay robot.
I saw it was on Netflix and was honestly surprised.
Should I watch it?
And how does this make you feel Cred Forums?
youtube.com/watch?v=9Fd-go59cpE

>literal Jewish physics
Nah senpai

I started from season 5. That's where things start to get interesting but it still has no direction. It does familiarize you with the characters though, so you'll still feel the hits as the series goes on. It's very much so worth watching.

>that pic implying that 2016 didn't usher in a new era for 4 chan
Cred Forums is dead
long live Cred Forums

Cultural Marxism was long before that. It wasn't as obvious before but it began even before gay marriage. That's the point when things started getting crazy stupid.

thx for acknowledging

No I agree. Cred Forums with the Trump and Kek shit has really shot out into something great again.
It's a lot like when anons were all into that Katawa Shoujo stuff when the game was being made. Lots of juicy OC and quality threads about something a lot of anons could enjoy and get behind.

They truly did subvert us.
Fucking Yuri was right.

fuck you 2010's...

had to shit it up even worse

>mfw I started browsing Cred Forums too late
>mfw Cred Forums was already a porn infested shithole
What was old Cred Forums like, user?

the nipple incident in the SB ruined everything

Apple fucked everything up

I'd say I have no idea what 90% of this shit is.
I hate pop culture so fucking much.

i still have this bad boy.
still turns on too

jesus, music was just as terrible in 2006 as it is today, if not worse

It was like Cred Forums with less politics and more anime.

Cred Forums was the place to be in 2006. It got over loaded with porn to the point it wasn't mentally stimulating around 08. Lots of people migrated to other boards then (myself included).

Cred Forums stagnated in the early 2010s because they didn't have a page to discuss current events until /new/. When /new/ and Cred Forums became a thing Cred Forums experience a rebirth, a silver age if you will (2006 -2008 was the golden age).

Some shitty cartoon that was on Nickelodeon that nobody remembers

>>Smartphones didnt exist
The Blackberry Pearl made smartphones more accessible but most people were stuck on EDGE speeds so no one ever used mobile data. iPhones came out the year after. MySpace was huge and Facebook was a hipster website for college students. No one knew about Twitter.

Watching all those REMEMBER videos and 2002 got me. Wanna go back now fuck... or experience my children experiencing their "the year".

It will probably be some shit related to VR or ai

Nah, the Juke was LG I think. I had one and I tried turning it on as I plugged it in. It completely fucked the phone and it wouldn't work again. I just fell back to my Motorola Razor instead of buying a new one

Thiel has a pretty good assessment of this phenomenon:

youtube.com/watch?v=Q_3r49XXRw4

Yeah, it's with Bill Kristol, but the interview is worth watching. I turned 18 in 2006 and things are measurably worse -- or at best the same -- socially, culturally, politically and economically, barring a few iterative technological improvements like assisted driving and political developments like Trump/Brexit.

Although I'm a christian this sounds pretty nice.

Did anyone else get an overwhelming rush of nostalgia when Bush spoke at the memorial for the slain police officers a few months ago? Just for that moment, it felt like the US was still in control of global security, that the world wasn't turning upside down, and that the waters of geopolitics were a lot less muddy.

youtube.com/watch?v=320cvK_-3nE

Then his speech ended and it was straight back to into the Obama hell.

i see it as the same still

a real era like 80s and 90s was a real era

fuck i miss the 90s

Good grief, its the same recycled shit.

I suggest you watch the full video then, they go over religion as well. Quite interesting.

>Smartphones didn't exist

Bullshit, every person in business that exchanged emails had blackberry

>Liberals haven't gone full Marxists

I don't remember all that, but their were rumblings.

>Internet wasn't as centralized

Wrong, web 2.0 came out in 2005 with MySpace being insanely popular. Everyone used the internet.

>2006
Hip hop & Rock music was pretty much balanced
>2016
Just hip hop ever gets recognition now

>2006
>Original movies that mostly weren't that good
>2016
Nothing but terrible shitty reboots of Hollywood hits older than the target demographic

There was also a lot more white representation in media 10 years ago. It's pretty fucking sad.

10 years ago is when I found Cred Forums, thanks to GT fourms. Most of you newfags were only 8-10 when at that time

>just look at what life was in 2006
>bunch of shitty music videos
just kill yourself desu

>10 years

Try being 18 in 2004 and finding out about this dump.
