I will be the first to admit that we had a strong tendency to use the veneration of saints as a tool to grab people from polytheistic religions back in the day, and I respect the opinion that the veneration of the saints is bad. I don't really want to get into that.

But the Mexicans literally worship a 'Saint' of Death, and it's extremely common. It's a degeneration of the religion, it's blasphemy, it's idolatry, and it's a cult within the church that needs to be stopped before it corrupts the Catholic church in the Americas to something that's just a few degrees of insane past the acceptable limit.
