Should I go see Ben Hur this evening?

I have an opportunity to see this film tonight in 35mm. Is it patrician tier like I have heard, or will I be wasting three and a half hours.

I hear the old version is good at least

Yeah it's the 1959 version

It's a great film and it deserves its reputation. Worth seeing at least once, so I'd go for the 35mm screening if I were you.

make sure it's not the 2016 remake though, lol

If its the original sure, I'd it's the new BS one no

Yeah ir's the original. I saw Lorenzo of Arabia in 70mm last weekend, jelly?

I saw the new one
It was alright
Kind of preachy against the roman empire but i'm one of those fags who think Rome did nothing wrong

I gave ur mum my 70mm last weekend, jelly?

Yes

>Lorenzo

Not politics

Go ask Cred Forums or something

rome did (and continues to do) exactly what they set out to do 2000 years ago

It perpetuates the myth that Jews looked anything like Charlton Heston. Otherwise it's OK, nothing amazing.

this movie is trying to portray jews as compassionate and moral beings. interesting

Jews would have been a bit more masculine before a huge part of their population crossed over to Christianity

Where is it? I'd like to see it.

>Loenzo Fernandez de Arabia

KEK

Oh, it's the original?

Hell yeah.

It's a great film.
Watch it, mate.
It's very long but really good. Modern films don't stand up to it.
The shit I see on netfilx and other media can't compete.
Pic unrelated.

reminder that the bennhur screenplay was cowritten by gore vidal who shoved as much homosexual subtext as he could into it and the director didnt know any better so let it fly.

These types of posts are exactly why I come here.

>Charlton Heston

Watch, The Omega Man, instead. It's a great film

>be me
>be wanting to see this movie for like 5 months before it came out
>talk friend into seeing it with me
>text him "meet me at 4:15pm"
>get to the theatre 415
>420 still not here
>430 shows up finally
>"hey user sorry I'm late how long were you waiting?"
>tell him the truth
>I Ben Hur bout 15 minutes
>mfw

This is a must see film. It is humanistic yet religious, if you can dig that.

Kek help me I actually laughed out loud.
