Nobody's going to deny that there are some bad cops out there, and sure, a small number of the blacks who get shot didn't do anything to warrant it. However, most police officers are just ordinary people doing a dangerous job, and they just want to get home to their families when their shift's over. The reason so many blacks get shot is because they're brought up in a culture that ingrains rebellion against the police and seem to have no idea how important compliance is when police have to treat every suspect they pursue as someone who might try and kill them if given the chance.

When you're put into a situation where the suspect appears to be armed, you don't have the luxury of seeing whether the suspect intends to shoot or not, because that hesitation could cost you your life.

Police shootings have nothing to do with the crime the suspect is being arrested for and everything to do with the situation and how the suspect behaves when confronted.

You could be a mass murderer and if you surrender peacefully they'll treat you gently. You could be a jaywalker and if you fight back hard enough they may shoot you.

The crime is only relevant in that if the police know the suspect has a history of violence they may be expecting it and come in greater force.
