I take it you believe in natural selection and adaptation? Is it not possible that his 'desirable' traits are, in fact, mutation for the better? If anything, you should be all for blacks like this producing with the hope that these traits become predominant. You can breed undesirable traits out of dog breeds in just a few generations, and their genetics vary far more than ours do between races; our DNA works just the same.

Give well-to-do blacks encouragement for being well-to-do; encourage those ones to reproduce. Simultaneously, give them means to influence their culture towards valuing education. If you can affect both who reproduces and what the environment encourages, you nip the problem in the bud completely, regardless of whether or not these deficits are due to nature or nurture... unless you actually enjoy being able to rationalize thinking you're better than blacks, in which case it's not in your best interest for them to develop further.

I mean, I have an interest in doing so. I should probably clarify: I probably don't fit into your definition of "we." I'm only 50% white; the other half is black.

While I would be happy to see the body of all black people progress, I personally can't understand a race-collective mindset. For a similar reason, I can't quite relate to white people who want to 'stay white.' If I see something as being generally positive to the world, and can somehow contribute, I would do so happily. It's for this reason that I'm willing to accept that encouraging select parts of the population to reproduce more than others may be beneficial, but I'm still somewhat undecided on just how much of the issue is based in nature as opposed to nurture.

In my experience, my black genes have only ever helped me as an individual: I do as well as my white, Asian, and Jewish peers (I'm in a STEM field); being in the same grade, score, and achievement margin as other top contenders while being black only makes me the default receiver of fellowships, acceptances, and awards due to affirmative action where applicable. Where affirmative action is not applicable (e.g., blind peer-reviewed publications), I haven't really felt particularly disabled compared to others and have achieved just as much if not more. Maybe there's just a disconnect somewhere, but I just personally can't relate to a philosophy that black people are somehow unconditionally unable to contribute or be peers with white people.
