To be abstract - there must be opposing forces for something to remain in balance. But if you take away one of those opposing forces and let the other to keep going unchecked, it will spiral out of control and eventually destruct.
If you have 4-5 empty SCOTUS seats and you take away the 2nd amendment, and then the 1st amendment, then you have completely tore up the US constitution. There will be civil unrest.
