Trump has a very shallow understanding on most topics. All they have to do is keep probing him for further details and he'll eventually just get humiliated. Romney was exactly the same during debates against Obama. Democrats spend a lot more resources on debriefing on information for their candidates. TRUMP did not come right out to defend the Tulsa cop who killed the google. Why? Because it showed he does not automatically take the side of the police, show sympathy to the google vote (which he is polling at close to 20%), and it pointed out that the cop was FEMALE. A FEMALE cop could not handle a tough situation.

This was a political masterstroke. It helped him immensely with moderates, did no damage with conservatives, and implants in the national psyche the fact that females can not be allowed to be in those types of situations. All while seeming calm, considered, and sympathetic to all involved.
