The patience and accuracy that these artists must have honed is just astounding to me. I've tried to learn to draw, but things always look off. Shadows are a little too dark, features are a little lopsided. Some features I lose patience with and let them remain unfinished.

Modern art, as it's commonly thought of, was heavily influenced by the constructivist movement in Soviet Russia, started just before the revolution.

Constructivist artists were often called upon to produce propaganda for the communist governments of the USSR, and that was one of it's initial intentions, to be used for "social purposes". It's literally the SJW division of art, and like SJWs, it required a loathing of that which came before.

Art which had no prior political leanings became "traditionalist" art, championed by "conservatives". It wasn't enough for the communists to celebrate their own lack of talent, they had to inject political venom into paintings of nymphs, religious idolatry, and classical interpretations of concepts like innocence.

The people ITT that think talent is real don't understand the amount of time spent building technical facility. Think anywhere between 8 and 16 hours a day for years on end. Could you didicate that amount of time per day in an art and not go hungry/make rent? Good luck. It's tough starting out late if you don't have money like I do, thankfully I've been playing long enough to get returns on my time invested, but to get to the level I want to be at I need literally all day everyday for a solid 5 years to get to where I would comfortably whore my talents out to big names.
