I've recently had 3 relatives die (2 olds and one bad luck) and I can tell you the quality of service available in the NHS is dogshit.

Clinical fuck ups, filthy hospitals, admin incompetence, zero compassion/basic care. This is across 3 hospitals and 5 years.

The sooner the NHS goes the better.

The lady got a minor infection. an israel doctor so severly misdiagnosed and mistreated the infection that he literally killed her kidneys and part of her liver. American medical costs are high for three simple reasons.

1: The law says that you can't refuse treatment to someone in an emergency room even if it is obvious he cannot pay.

2: Insurance companies have enormously deep pockets and can pay pretty much any fee no matter how obscene.

3: The government can and will swoop in to bail a hospital out no matter what happens.

The insurance system is fucked, but it's only fucked BECAUSE the federal government keeps trying to fix it. Northern California was just on the verge of community-based health coverage before Obama swooped into to torpedo it by making health coverage mandatory--which is functionally all the NHS is. You just pay directly instead of with taxes.

The NHS is also bullshit. Bongland hospitals are all garbage, their people are massively overworked, and even by our lofty standards of horseshit their mental health system is garbage. Remember that MP who got her face blown off by that nutball just before Brexit? Jo Cox? Well that guy, he had literally just walked into a mental health ward and said he was feeling crazy. They turned him away because, guess what, they were overworked because the budget is too low and ANYONE can waltz in and get treatment for the human condition. People wait for weeks to get treatment and then the treatment is shit--but hey, at least it's cheap! It only cost another 5% of my tax income.
