i don't think you know what hedonism is.
it was a philosophical movement in ancient greek. they were heavily influenced by the idea of 'eudamonia' meaning the attempt of leading a good life, which among many others aristotles advocated. an important idea in this context is temperance and the concept of the golden middle, which considers extremes as diametrical to any good life. this could be adressed in many spheres including emotionally. if you reach this idealized equlibrium you achieve ataraxia, meaning the indefference to outside effects, also propagated by stoizism. this is where hedonism comes in as a school. which propagates the balance of pleasure with inhibiting virtues. so basically it's not about exzessive pleasure without any inhibiting rules but the intertwinement of pleasure with virtues to reach an equlibrium that allow a subject to lead a good, happy and meaningfull life.
