No. They discovered pretty fast that state spending must be backed up with high taxes, negating the whole "capitalism" thing. Then they started to confiscate assets and sell them to Switzerland for hard currency.

I think that's the point

No completely stable economic system is good. A healthy economy must face its ups and downs, the cycles of boom and slack. Trying to stop the cycle is what gives rise to government interference, and, later, corruption.
