Anyway, regarding the 2nd amendment, we've already won. America has spoken, we like our guns.

This is a strawman of the entire debate about the 2nd Amendment. The point is and has always been about the ability to simply get rid of an amendment, over a minor political issue. There are 318 million people in the US. There are around 32,000 gun related deaths in the US per year. Two-third's of these deaths are suicides.

Gun-control advocates never mention the suicide aspect of firearms ownership, which makes 2nd Amendment advocates suspicious of their intentions, especially with the lack of knowledge that gun-control advocates exhibit; not just about firearms but how they work, are used, and acquired.

Why should we overturn a Amendment because of the deaths of less than 0.02% of the population? Most of which are self-inflicted? That's the reality of gun-deaths in the US. The number of deaths from homicide is even smaller (11,000, so about 0.003% of the population).

The point, is that the entire gun-control argument is coming from a noble place but is incredibly ignorant. Same for gun nuts. Most of us aren't really smart enough to articulate our points but we know enough to point in the right directions.

It's easy to disregard but, the same Amendments that grant us the right to use this board, post controversial discussion on social media, or print and publish opinions are the same ones that allow us to own guns, or have a right to a fair trial.

It's like when a teacher catches a child eating glue or some sperg shit and takes away everyone's "glue privileges". It doesn't actually stop students from eating glue, it's just an arbitrary punishment for the behavior of a single student. It teaches the students that it's okay to be punished for the behavior of others.
