9/10 involuntarily unemployed are all males. We live in a country where every corporation has informal or formal quotas for women and where government wants to INCREASE the number of women in the public service despite it being already 65%.

In my opinion people on the dole are all-ready required to attend a compulsory amount of interviews and employment services in order to receive payment. If the issue is that there are no jobs, why not sign them up for military training instead, there are heaps more job prospects and possibility to move up post introductory training. Obviously they would have to include a clause that prevents carers and disabled dole recipients. All in all I think it is a good Idea, If the ultimate goal of the dole is to get people working why not?

Education is 'compulsory' only in a very very vague, weak sense. It's not even something that's really enforced, and they don't imprison a child or punish the child for not attending. You can choose to do homeschooling if you like.

Job got me ~$100 a week, dole got me ~$150, had to attend an interview fortnightly showing i'd applied for 10 jobs a week.

Wound up with a 28 hr wk morning part time job, they kept scheduling my appointments for the morning, i'd spend 30 minutes on hold rescheduling for the evening.

In the end i said fuck it, didn't show up.

Received: One letter telling me your entitlements have been stopped. You'll need to reapply to start receiving benefits again. Oh, and fuck you.

4 years later, i've been made full time at that job, plus plenty of overtime, and am 4 months into a 30 year mortgage after managing to save a deposit.

For the most part you are right, the child is not usually punished for not attending however the parents can be fined or have other such punishments applied, the homeschooling point is pretty solid but it is still "Mandatory Education"

The point is that there are a huge diversity of options when it comes to educating your child, including basically just 'home schooling' - the only time 'compulsory education' becomes an issue today is when social services gets involved in a case of parents neglecting their kids, in which case there are much more significant issues of compulsion and rights violation involved anyway.

To compare 'compulsory education' to mandatory military service (or any type of service) is ridiculous.

Same with taxes. I don't support taxation, but it's a VASTLY different situation we have - where you have the freedom to do whatever work you want and simply pay back into the system (if you don't earn anything, you don't pay taxes).
