Heh, looks like the trolls aren't going to reviewbomb this one like they did Star Wars.
Normally I roll my eyes at Marvel movie hype, but the amount of seriously salty mofos getting shit twisted over it makes me realize that this is actually a significant cultural moment and not just another big-budget movie trying to be relevant.
I had to walk out of the pub the other night after having a heated conversation with a couple of lads who thought BLACK PANTHER was racist because "well, its all black people".
I don't fucking get it. I was so angry it ruined my fucking night. These were people I deal with on the regular and have never had any reason to believe that they were the massive, stupid racists that I now know they are.
Ayden Carter
When did nerds finally transmogrify into the dipshit, reactionary, hateful gatekeepers that tormented them in their own youth? I would rather see an article that charts their downfall from D&D-playing, Monty Python-loving outcasts into the kiddie porn-sharing, hentai-gargling MAGA chuds they are today.
Carter Martinez
Ok seriously what the fuck is wrong with everyone hyping this shit up? Just because a lot of blacks make up the characters? It's just the same as Thor 3 and any other MCEU capeshit.
Michael Campbell
It's racist to give a bad review.
Michael Smith
77% is average for a Marvel origin movie.
Nobody "review-bombed" TLJ... it was a bad movie.
Cooper Myers
Maybe no one review bombed TLJ either and it was a piece of shit
Benjamin Green
Except it is getting review bombed with 5 stars from new accounts admitting they haven't seen it yet. OMG LOOKS AMAZING CANT WAIT TO SEE IT
Did you actually look at the reviews?
Christian Sanchez
On a semi-related note, what piece of Black Panther discourse have you guys found the most infuriating? For me it's gotta be:
- "Why is Black Panther being celebrated as a landmark when *insert blockbuster with a black lead* came out years ago?!"
and
- "Black Panther shouldn't be celebrated as a watershed moment since the character was created by two white Jewish guys!"
Thomas Foster
Nobody "reviewbombed" Star Wars. It was just bad and people didn't like it. And the only people getting salty over Black Panther are niggers. The rest of us didn't really care about the movie one way or the other.
Michael Powell
I saw that! About 30 user reviews in a row... all five-star... all saying they were looking forward to it. My favorite was:
"The best film ever! Can't wait to see it!"
Ian Richardson
That's why we've had dozens of threads saying "YES! ANOTHER NEGATIVE REVIEW!" and "OH MY GOD WHY ARE MARVEL MOVIES SO POPULAR I HATE BLACKS!"
Brayden Fisher
>trolls >reviewbomb >roll my eyes >salty >mofos >twisted
Wow.
Jackson James
Ironic that Amos and Andy was villified for the same reason... being created by two Jewish guys.
Jace Murphy
Of course it's racist. It's also a weak movie by definition - Strength = Diversity. A movie as racially homogenous as Black Panther is by default weak and 100% racist.
Kayden Thomas
>Normally I roll my eyes at Marvel movie hype
Shake up your shill templates bro. We're not 1950s housewives being taken in by your lame washing powder pitch.

Wyatt Wright
>This generic pile of Disney Corp Marvel Capeshit is important/brave/interesting/new/relevant
And
>I want to live in Wakanda!
and

Gabriel Reyes
I've really enjoyed the hype. This has been the absolute peak of SJW insanity. A complete cringe fest from beginning to end.
My favorite part was when Ryan Coogle claimed there was a genetic shared consciousness between black people because he went to Africa and saw them eating watermelons.
That's how full blown the stupidity is behind both the creation and enjoyment of this shit.
Justin Ross
You are right its only racist if its whites.
Ayden Lopez
Haha holy fuck that is funny. Sauce? Google isnt giving me sauce

Jews? No way! Must be a coincidence.

All of these arguments fall under the same encompassing blanket, which is the same feminists use to defend the sexist, rapist, politically incorrect anti-semite Islam

And that's about it.
Xavier Kelly
this is actually the worst Marvel movie in prolly the last 5 years. From writing, to visuals, etc.
Brayden Ward
I like how everybody pushing Black Panther is desperately trying to ignore the parallels between Black Panther's Wakanda First ideology and Trumpism. Pretty much saying the same shit when you read the Black Panther comics.
Looking forward to some drawfag editing the Black Panther comics to be Trump saying it and call it White Lion

Uhmmmmm Islam literally means Peace you racist bigot antisemetic transphobic homophobic xenophobic shitlord
Connor Powell
It was an alright movie maybe a 4/10. Nothing too bad but the cgi is already super dated and in 1 year it's going to look like pure garbage. I think it's the 4th worst Marvel movie just beating out Ironman 2 and 3 and Thor 2. I am really worried for Infinity War now, I think that they are going to fuck up the cgi there too and make it a huge flop.
Ethan Ortiz
Its capeshit why are you pretending any capeshit can be good
Easton Smith
You're lying and you know it. Probably the only repeated threads about the movie was when Rotten Tomatoes jumped the gun before the movie was even out and claimed the "alt-right" was plotting to sabotage user reviews. Even Cred Forums has hardly talked about the movie.
The only thing that you people hate more than being acknowledged is being ignored. That's the reason for this butthurt thread.
Aiden Flores
How long until chimp outs or one of the youths kills whitey?
Adrian Nelson
That doesn't look like people organizing a massive review bombing, that looks like people getting sick of manufactured hype and on the nose propaganda
Owen Howard
I'm not saying they are great movies. My favorite was Thor Ragnarok and I would only give it a 6.5/10 because it is a superhero movie. I just enjoy watching the spectacle but if the cgi get's too noticeable it takes me out of the experience.
It's hilarious. Coogler is almost hilariously fucking stupid. He seems like he has an IQ in the fucking 80's. He can't even speak properly.

The D&D geeks are extremely leftwing. I met a bunch of trannies playing D&D. I think playing a female character tickles something in their autism like ChrisChan.

this guy sounds like a rapper. he always say "you know what i mean" after every sentence
i can't believe this guy is a successful director. he sounds like a retard
Dominic Thomas
he says that because hes black and cant talk like a normal person. so he needs to say ''you know what im sayin'' to make sure the civilized can understand him
a white guy probably directed the movie behind the scenes
Noah Jackson
That's African American privilege for you.
The guy is legitimately retarded. He's never made a good movie. They've all been extremely stale, mediocre works. Because he's black they literally bump all the reviews up from say a 5/10 to a 9/10.
He's a token whose going to cruise through his career.
Julian Cook
i have heard retards on here say creed was a great movie. I know because i made a thread about it saying it was a piece of shit

William Clark
You mean like Neil DeGrasse Tyson? Whom a woman has accused of of drugging and raping her btw.

This was an 8/10 capeshit film that's getting Godfather like raves from critics. Film criticism is dead.

Please explain how it’s a racist movie, genius.

Back in the early to mid '90s, I began collecting comic books around 7-10 years old, and eventually went from buying them in supermarkets with my parents to buying them at comic book stores. That was my first experience with the nastiness and bigotry of nerd culture (even though I was only an observer, not victimized by it myself). So I have always distrusted "geek culture" even at that young an age, and the most succinct way I can summarize why would be that old adage "today's freedom fighters become tomorrow's tyrants". I honestly can't see why so many are surprised by this: It's one of the archetypal narratives of civilization.
I simply can't accept that so many people couldn't see the underlying bigotry of the stereotypic "unassuming" and "safe" geeks/nerds of the '80s and '90s - along with the likely (I'm tempted to say "inevitable", but I'll play nice) sociopathy and evil that would be entailed by their gradual take-over of pop culture. I saw that insidious shit when I was a kid and never wanted much to do with it, and every flirtation I had over the years with the depths of what we call "geek culture" left me disgusted and reaffirmed my intuition in the first place.
I'm not saying that geekdom and geek culture weren't safehavens for so many well-adjusted and good people; I know they are/were. And it's especially vital to note that some sub-sub-cultures of nerd culture more generally are faaaaar worse than others. And of course, my own experiential "analysis" might not match up with a proper statistical analysis. (I.e., I'm way overstating my case.) But that doesn't invalidate the shittiness of said lived experience.
Essentially, any sub-culture that encourages a person to conflate aesthetic judgments with moral judgments needs to be torn down, and I have seen that shit far too often in "nerd culture" to think that there isn't something systemic to nerd culture's very nature that encourages and exacerbates such nastiness.
Mason Robinson

Aaron Scott
I am seeing rhetorical flourishes and bombast and no concrete examples of situations like you´re describing or arguments why it is so. Get bent.
Colton Nguyen
The really heartbreaking thing to me was this didn't used to be the case. When I was a kid seeing someone else wear an x men tee shirt or read an R.A. Salvatore book was a big deal because it made me feel like I was not alone in the things I loved. It made me feel included.
Even going back to 2006 when I saw a midnight screening of The Revenge of the Sith, it was a huge nerd party. There were costumes, choreographed light saber fights, and even a couple with a guitar singing star wars songs, among the sentiment of "I hope this one is good.". Everyone was there to have fun.
I got the same feeling whenever I saw a little girl cosplaying as Rey or Wonder Woman, or watching the video of those people joyfully celebrating after that black panther screening. " We are together in this. Here, share our joy. There's more than enough to go around".
If you don't like something, fine. Part of nerdom has always been debating and complaining, but why do they need to ruin it for someone else?
Carter Long
>if you don't like a movie you're a troll
Owen Campbell
I feel exactly the same way. I'm in my 30's, so I missed out on "nerd culture" carving out the space it has in the mainstream. Quite frankly, I'm envious of the fact that things like Star Trek and Marvel that I loved as a kid are "cool" now. Growing up, I always wanted to find people with similar interests for exactly the same reasons you mentioned--for that sense of community. What I used to love about "nerd culture" (I use quotes because I use that term for want of a better one, despite my distaste for it) was that so often it was about creating a place for people who didn't have anywhere else to go.
I'm also a complete romantic about the idea of kids from any background finding heroes they can cosplay as or to whom they can look up. That's the sort of nostalgia that we should celebrate--not the surface level things like "remember this property," but "remember how this property felt and the impact it made on your worldview." I don't think anyone is truly capable of doing the latter and then hearing a story about people finding a hero to represent them and becoming bitter. All I can think of is being a scrawny little dorky kid and seeing Spider-Man and the utter joy in thinking "they made a character for me." Why anyone would want to rob someone else of that is completely beyond my understanding.
Joseph Rivera
Except the entire movie talks about how Wakanda First is bad and Black Panther rejects the isolationist ideology at the end and decides to open up to the rest of the world This is why it's important to watch the movie instead of being a Cred Forumstard on the Internet

90% of the cast are also from a fictional African nation that isolated itself from the outside world. It would be really fucking jarring if there were random non-wakandans roaming the streets of the Golden city.
Levi Hill
So what? Thor Ragnarok takes place in a fictionary fantasy land populated by dead Vikings and they found room for a beautifully diverse cast. There is zero reason a fictoinal African country can't have Chinese and Indian Africans there.
>Jarring
Yeah, to racists.

they're not dead vikings in Thor, they're an alien race.

...who just happen to all be characters from Norse mythology, and the Norse being a bunch of pale-ass motherfuckers. If your suspension of disbelief figures in the race of the actors playing the people of the country, surely you found it jarring that a Norse-themed place wasn't purely Norse-looking people?
Wakanda's totally fictional too, who's to say that there aren't pale/brown/Asian-looking Africans in a fictional African country? You could even have a scene about it where Killmonger's like "this is a lot more pale than I expected" and someone is like "Wakandan history's a blackwash."
Leo Lewis
you don't care about norse people either, you're just a racist faggot who gets mad that some minor characters are not white thor's actor is australian, loki's actor is english and odin's actor is welsh. None of them are scandinavian. and black panther has token white characters like the serkis character and the cia guy
Thomas Thompson
the whole point of wakanda is that whitey did nothing to do because they had the technology to hide and evade wars, raids etc you're still a dumbfuck
Nicholas Gray

They did nothing to Wakanda, but they did ebil things to Killmongo. T'Challa doesn't do it not because they didn't touch Wakanda but because he's "above that".
Tyler Davis
but its true, if he cared about proper representation of nordic mythology he wouldnt be okay with australian thor either and welsh loki either
Carson Wright
but wakanda is properly established as an isolationist country so it makes sense that it doesnt have white citizens asgard was never portrayed as isolationist, in fact loki was the result of odin race-mixing with a giant
Blake Perez
>PLEASE WATCH THIS MOVIE APPROVED ON WOTTEN WOMATOES kys mouseshill
Ryder Taylor
Not all of BP's actors are African; the titular Black Panther is played by an American for instance; but it was still important that they look African right? According to your logic from above?
The trouble with the argument you're making, that realism demands that Wakanda look entirely African minus maybe some people who are clearly shown to be foreigners, is that all elements of that argument should theoretically apply to Asgard, yet you inconsistently claim that there is no problem with Asgard. The likely reason for this schism in belief is a double standard; that it's okay for black people to exclude other races from being represented in their movies because that's punching up, but it's not okay for whites to do that because it's punching down, and it's this double standard in your head that we want you to be made aware of.
Dominic Mitchell
>They did nothing to Wakanda, but they did ebil things to Killmongo no they didnt. its established that killmonger killed countless non-white people himself in afghanistan and iraq and he's a butthurt faggot because the previous black panther king murdered his father he's a psychopath who wanted a wakanda empire with him at the top and used slavery and colonialism as an excuse

>is that all elements of that argument should theoretically apply to Asgard, no it shouldnt theoretically apply to asgard asgard is never established as a white nation, they are aliens that nordic white people worshipped as gods back in ancient times. they're not dead white people, they don't live in sweden, they come from another dimension and there is justification for why they would be white people only asgard is not a white ethnostate, it's an alien society

...
Dominic Ortiz
Woke!
Ian Howard
>they are aliens that nordic white people worshipped as gods back in ancient times.
Be honest with yourself. If there had been a bunch of Asians and Native Americans in Wakanda and some solid in-universe justification was offered for why not all of the Wakandans look like Africans (Wakanda is a fictional place so you can make up whatever you want, maybe vibranium affected them), how accepting of that would you have been? How accepting would audiences and the clickbaitsphere have been? If M'Baku had been played by Donnie Yen, how would that have gone over?
According to the logic of representation it is bad to let a movie go by without representing various kinds of people in it, yet this movie made no effort and the claim you're making here is that it was just unrealistic to do it, except clearly you can always come up with something. If it seems hackneyed, so what? Representation is important right?
And making up some reason for why some African members of Wakanda look like Chinese MMA-trained movie stars is exactly like coming up with a reason as to why some members of Asgard look like Londoners.
Jason Hall
>audience score keeps going higher and higher
My personal theory is some Disney shill actually created those "review bombing" threads to justify getting bad reviews censored as racist. Which is also exactly what I believe happened in TLJ.
You have a good 3rd of the glowing reviews black people or ultra liberals giving it 5 stars BEFORE seeing it (and if the person claims to have not seen it, that review should certainly be removed). And also a good amount of the bad reviews being purged as racist. You can also very easily find anyone who gave it less than 3 stars being bitched at for being racist (enter the mod removal team shortly).
I DO think the money will be an unintentional comedy masterpiece, but I refuse to pay for that agenda. Black people with rockets, spaceships, and ray guns? Nigga please. All they could invent in the parts whitey never touched was the pointy stick.
Michael Rivera
"Fools build barriers. The wise build bridges" -T'Challa, King of Wakanda
Adrian White
There is no theoretical solid in-universe justification for a multicultural Wakanda, because the whole point of Wakanda was that it was isolationist and that was a bad thing. This is why it's important to watch movies instead of just being a mad faggot.
Wakanda society is portrayed as villainous because they isolated themselves, the entire point is that their nationalism is fucked-up. There is even a character in the movie that says at some point that bringing-in refugees would destroy the their culture and shit. Later on, T'Challa wants to take the hobbit CIA guy inside Wakanda to heal him, and one of his bodyguards says it's wrong because he will learn their secrets and tell the world. This is all portrayed as a bad thing, and the movie ends with opening an outreach center in America and opening up at the UN. He even says something about the entirety of earth is one big tribe.
If it was a multicultural society, the whole point of the movie (etnostates are bad) would be missed.
Anyway, if you think that SJWs (who are more likely to be asian, white, latino etc than black) would oppose multiculturalism and more diversity in a Black Panther movie, you're delusional. Look at Star Wars, there's like only 1 black guy in the new movies, the others are latinos, asians, white women etc.
Nicholas Long
Were you mad at the casting of Gods of Egypt?
David Rivera
Because fuck you and fuck normalcy and fuck social standards and fuck you co-opting and "cleansing" everything to make it PC and sterile and without any shred of Truth
Julian Martin
How did wakanda escape from british and belgian colonization? Why didn't wakanda colonize other places?
Robert Lopez
The truth is some of the hardest to reach parts in the heart of Africa *did* escape colonization.... and they aren't Wakanda, if anything they're *worse* off for the fact that whitey didn't bring them kicking and screaming into the industrial era.
These are the parts of Africa where they're still living in mud huts and eating bugs. Living literally no better than chimps.
Logan Smith
Yeah, i was just wondering how they kept their super advanced secret tech and vibranium while being surronded by shitholes
Easton Baker
they act like a third world shithole with mud huts to the outside world
Hunter Robinson
Only watched it once but Black Panther is one of the better superhero movies i've seen, if not the best one, it's really well thought out with an emotional story, fantatic production, the critics craze is justified really feels like a very good movie regardless of superheroes or not.

It's not racist, you absolute faggot. Movies should be allowed to have all black, all white, all asian, all whatever cast. Problem is, only white people don't have the ability to have that without jews and their slaves sperging out.
Daniel Perry
>dozens of threads Wow. You know that anybody can make a thread here, right? Including people who work for Disney?
Michael Johnson
If there's one thing BP made me realize, is that I'm really falling out of the Cred Forums culture. I genuinely can't tell who's trolling who anymore.
Charles Baker
America is not a multi cultural society, historically. Multiculturalism doesn’t exist. There is no such thing. Any nation that has had multiple cultures has fractured into separate cultures. You are a moron.
Why do you think the Jews, Russians and Chinese promote open borders propaganda in America and Europe? Think for a second, if you can.

Stop being such a fucking retard. We all get it that you didn't even watch the film.

Both need to be combined into the ultimate wokeness: Hollywood is capitalising on decades of racial tension and the the alienation of Black people in American society to boost their marketing

The world would be an objectively better place without your colored race. We all know it to be true. Now shut your monkey mouth and fuck off.

Superhero movies aren't for kids anymore. They have important social commentary and the characters say "shit" all the time so I wouldn't take my kids to that anyway.

I gave a bad review to the last Jedi because it was a stupid movie. "Bad" doesn't cover it. It was a stupid, stupid movie.
I gave a decent score and praising review for black panther because it was extremely refreshing for a comic book movie and it was more capable of standing on it's own merits than any other MCU movie that relies on the rest of the series to help hold it up.
David Green
That's good to hear. I want to watch this movie so I can participate in the Cred Forums discussion since it seems to be just as big as The Last Jedi was, but I don't want to see it in theaters. I wonder how long it will take to get a decent quality camrip.
