what makes a good fusion?

Relatively low temperature needed for reaction, common isotopes.

Blend of color themes, stylization and clothing design between all the source characters.
It helps if they have a trait or two in common in common, but having the sense to equally mix different character designs is more impressive

Oh, didn't realize there was a dedicated thread to this.
I already posted in the drawthread but that's dying anyway: requesting cute orange fusion, figured these characters all share a lot of visual traits.

Striking the right balance with the design elements between the fused characters to end up with a new design as opposed to a disorderly mess.

Easier said than done, but that challenge is part of the fun.
