Hiro has asked us to create a thread on each board for discussing the problems that are facing us and how to deal with them. He also wants us to create our own set of rules so that the mods will be regulated to follow them.
Remember mods, Hiro talked to you guys and you said it was fine to have one thread up about this.
Doesn't Cred Forums have a normal 30-second timer? Why must an image board have such a long limit in boards where image dumps were frequent?
Years ago you could come on Cred Forums and jump into a storytime thread on most days, now you'd be lucky to find one unless they have a Jew pass.
It's such a simple fix. Why are we here to suffer?
Hunter Stewart
>making lithe the tenth thread even though he said one per board in the fucking picture you posted Stop this cancer, he does not care.
Joseph Nelson
lurk more
Julian Gutierrez
Reminder that it's not that there are aren't enough mods. It's that the mods refuse to do their job.
Also would fix a lot of our problems.
John Mitchell
>Previous thread You're part of the problem.
Sebastian Powell
Ironic how this is turning into a general
Lincoln Evans
i propose a permanent stickied shinka thread
Charles Martinez
Can we say that this thread is proof positive that generals have to go?
Jack Allen
>Hiro has asked us to create a thread on each board for discussing the problems that are facing us and how to deal with them. No he didnt. I read that thread too, if its allowed doesnt mean you have to make it a general Fuck off
Asher Brown
It is one per board. The old one was the very last thread in the catalog on page 10 when I posted it. I waited until the very last minute to post this thread so I could still link forward and backward for ease of archiving. As of 15 seconds ago, it has been archived.
Christian Ramirez
Just because there is a technical excuse doesn't mean you should have such a thread going 24/7. We don't need a fucking mini-/q/ on Cred Forums. Also while I'm at it -
>ban all generals Not happening. I agree some of them suck, but, you can't arbitrarily nix shit without a real replacement or ruling on such things. /ag/ would be a stupid fucking idea since that would only concentrate circlejerks further without anyone suggesting not to, and officially canonize some of Cred Forums's worst demons as welcome and OK. It would be counter to what you want.
My suggestion? Act on the behavior in generals you don't like. Call it out, report off topic circlejerks etc. Don't like shipping or het/yuri or studio wars garbage? Express your opinion that this isn't what we want Cred Forums to condone, and so on.
Ayden Gonzalez
First it was one thread only, like suggested Then it was another few because "it's just for that day" Now there are literally zero reasons for this trash, but the mod is not removing this
Nicholas Evans
Generals are backed by the silent majority. Instead of shitposting in meta threads like the vocal minority of general haters, they are busy discussing anime.
Colton Allen
So what boards are you guys really from? Just curious
Luke Flores
Hiro's direct advice is to create a general thread - one per board - on this topic.
Learn to hide threads.
Luke Green
keep this shit on /qa/ this isnt Annie may related
Ryan Russell
>Generals are backed by the silent majority. Keep dreaming you deluded idiot. Generalfags are literally a loud minority. Fuck, generalfags themselves don't even like themselves or their threads. Have you ever went into one?
Benjamin Evans
Cred Forums and Cred Forums. Cred Forums is so stale this season, I'll probably browse more next season.
Daniel Jackson
One thread means one thread. Not make another one after the last one died. Do you know what you're promoting? Generals. You literally made a general. You're actually fucking retarded user.
Colton Jenkins
So, Cred Forums?
Owen Carter
I have diverse interests, but I started out on Cred Forums and browse here the most.
Easton Murphy
Maybe if we actually did shit on previous threads instead of flinging shit at each other this couldn't be happening.
Eli Sanders
Here's your (You).
Ethan Carter
>studio wars garbage Literally Cred Forums's mentality, people who shitpost like that just want to shitpost for the sake of shitposting.
Zachary Roberts
people who rage about generals a loud minority
Jason Morgan
>Cred Forums is flooded with generals
If people who hated generals were really the majority, they'd be spamming the board with non-generals. Fact of the matter is, the majority is happy with generals and posts in them instead of making new threads.
>without a real replacement They don't need a replacement, this is a image board not a fucking traditional forum. Cred Forums ran perfectly fine and actually /better/ without them. Generals serve literally zero purpose and don't create any form of discussion. They are artificial and stagnation, two things chans are meant to be the opposite of.
Jace Gray
Cred Forums has FBI though
Adam Martin
Cred Forums
>inb4 some Redditard/ Tumblrina tells me to go back
Isaiah Roberts
Generals are cancerous circlejerks that were so bad that Cred Forums had to be split into /vg/.
Owen Williams
...
Levi Morgan
Cred Forums and Cred Forums, which has gone to shit mostly thanks to Cred Forums and normalfag cancer
Too much newcancer, elitism can't keep up anymore. Too many crossboarders that don't know their place. Lurk moar you fucking filth.
Anthony Kelly
Most of the spammers gave up after being banned dozens and dozens of times.
John Jackson
>one thread per board
We've already had a thread. Fuck off and die. Fucking generalfags.
Parker Fisher
>Cred Forums ran perfectly fine and actually /better/ without them
Back when there wasn't as much anime. Now everyone fandom wants a slice of Cred Forums.
Carter Davis
Cred Forums /jp/ Cred Forums /ck/
Matthew Ortiz
Sadly the mods seem to be fucking new too, as they tolerate this trash
Ethan Hernandez
>muh crossboarding
I wonder who's the newfriend here
Parker Lopez
Do you not ever leave your own generals or something? People have, for years. People have bitched about them and tried to spam them away FOR FUCKING YEARS SINCE THEIR INCEPTION. The mods even joined at one point and then they started to ban people for voicing the anti-general sentiment. People don't spam the front page to stop them because it's became obvious it fucking does nothing. Not just that, most users who are against generals are people who have been here for a long time. The sentiment started to die down because everyone just fucking left because its obvious no one fucking cares about the site anymore, not the admin or mods.
Matthew Gutierrez
Mods are just acting really strange lately for example you have Cred Forums that its decently moderated, then some mod goes crazy on /tg/ and bans Dorf Fort + makes /qst/ disaster even worse. It doesn´t help that the moderation team never comunicates with us you know what user, maybe the scariest truth is that they are from Cred Forums and even Cred Forums seems to know us better check those replies
Jack Garcia
We're not talking about dub threads or anything rule breaking. We're just talking about non-general anime threads. They're not being made, so the only conclusion is that the majority likes generals.
Ryan Bailey
Guess what, that problem would of been solved if moot just banned them like he wanted to instead of trying to appease a small loud minority. /vg/ only made everything worse and actually destroyed Cred Forums.
Christian Roberts
Reddit thread? Reddit thread
Dylan Murphy
>moot just banned them like he wanted
So why didn't he? Was he too busy being a faggot?
Jacob Martin
You just want excuse for blantant shitposting general which Hiroshima won't even check
Aiden Campbell
>generals will be dead by the end of this year
Thanks moot
Gabriel Robinson
If you guys hated generals that much, you'd make anime threads that weren't generals and push them off the board. But you don't.
>The sentiment started to die down because everyone just fucking left because its obvious no one fucking cares about the site anymore, not the admin or mods.
So they're not the majority anymore. Thanks for proving my point.
Wyatt Ross
>Hiro's direct advice Hiro is an autistic fucktard that has no idea how to interact with anyone and thinks that evoking change is a positive thing just because autistic newfags post on /qa/ and send him emails that tell him so.
Charles Gray
More than half the answers are "muh moeshit" or "I hate our avatarfags, why don't they go to your board instead"
Jacob Long
>muh crossboarding What's next? muuhh boogeyman?
Ayden Hall
/sci/, /lit/
Started on Cred Forums back when RP was a normal thing and not completely bad; now I just lurk because I risk namefagging by reflex
James Cook
Moot is a faggot. Instead of banning Narutards which was the norm at the time he instead saw it as a business opportunity to nurture all these fucking degenerates and give them generals to post in. Basically moot is a fucking cuck.
Brandon Brooks
Holy fuck these threads are still going?
Mason Cruz
Faggot mod allows them. Probably he's the OP too.
Cameron Gutierrez
I don't think there's really anything wrong with Cred Forums currently aside from the 60 second limit for posting.
Like, the few generals we have is like a quarantine thread and we have an equal amount of misc threads that discusses anime and shit and storytime threads pop up every now and then too.
And Cred Forums is self moderated enough that some things that Cred Forums thinks needs to be fixed pretty much fixes itself.
Camden Rivera
>I hate our avatarfags, why don't they go to your board instead that´s advocating against crossboarding as far as I know. Its good for us, that´s what I mean
Brayden Sanchez
We should make a subreddit for this. What should we name it?
Jason Stewart
y'know, you only need a fresh air and some sunlight sometimes. Better yet, do pic related
Josiah Perez
Don't post irrelevant shit here and type like a fuckwit Cred Forumsack or Cred Forumstard and it's fine. Crossboard all you want, just isolate your behaviour so you aren't shitting up everywhere else.
Dylan Collins
Newfags are rampant and don't know when to fuck off.
Dylan Hernandez
Can we have manga board now?
Mason Davis
"main" boards >05-07 Cred Forums Cred Forums >07-09 Cred Forums Cred Forums >09-12 /fit/ Cred Forums Cred Forums >12-14 Cred Forums Cred Forums >14+ just Cred Forums Fuck every other board other than Cred Forums at this point.
Gabriel King
>check those replies People who post usually on Cred Forums and crossboard to Cred Forums are the lowest of cancer, they shitpost both Cred Forums and Cred Forums and no one wants them in their board.
Just see >go outside
Wyatt Rodriguez
Summary from last thread:
1. Improve consistency of guidelines from board to board. No recommendations are allowed on Cred Forums, but recommendations are fine on /k/. What is going on here?
2. Mods should stop abusing short bans and should take ban appeals more seriously instead of blanket denying/blocking all appeals with no transparency.
3. Bring back ability to delete own OP on all boards.
4. Bring back ability to bump own threads.
5. Bring back visible sage.
6. Bring back ability to announce reports and sages.
7. Mods should stop micro-managing conversations by deleting short shitposts that no one cares about anyway. You're not helping and no one asked you to do this.
8. Bring back a /z/ board where people can go if they are banned for infractions other than CP and post with no rules or post-timers.
9. Bring back /l/ where we can post lewd loli images. Trying to make /l/ threads work on Cred Forums is like being marooned on a desert island. Spam and non-enthusiasts filling the thread make for a bad environment, and the speed that Cred Forums moves means that threads are short-lived and tend to have a low number of unique IPs, even if you bump them slowly.
Juan Harris
You can discuss manga here too, if you haven't noticed yet
Camden Barnes
Hopefully never.
James Thomas
Mark my fucking words.
Gavin Flores
Because by that time moot was fucking losing it and got sick of all the dumb shit. /vg/ was literally an attempt to appease the cancerous idiots instead of dealing with the problem so that he didn't have to do anything. This was clearly a mistake and he outright fucking realized that. He even gave a speech for generals in his leaving speech.
Generals are /literally/ not something belongs on chans or functions here. The cancer they cultivate is a direct cause of the concept of themselves, not because they have idiots. You can sit there banning the fuck tards in them all day long, it will never change them or make them better. You can't make something that exist just to stagnate to not stagnate.
If people want to generalcancer, add back the text boards and fuck back off to there.
Jonathan Jackson
>5. Bring back visible sage. Better to make all threads sage by default, and make them bumpable only with age.
Aaron White
You could discuss anime on Cred Forums why'd you need Cred Forums?
Blake Foster
DELET GENERALS
Fuck off mod, you're so fucking obvious since you just ignore shit you can't be bothered to deal with. Generals are literally cancer and have only ever contributed to the degradation of quality all over Cred Forums. And if you degenerates actually believe these newshits stay in their "containment" threads, you're obviously from Cred Forums and have never stepped outside those threads yourselves.
Alexander Rogers
Oh look, it's the same giant faggot who also posted the "important posts" in /qa/. Just ernd yourself, retard.
Ayden Perez
>all edgy posters came from Cred Forums
This isnt Gamergoy era anymore, redditor. Stop terraforming the site like some hugbox
Jonathan Nelson
It's just crossboarders ans shitposters making these.
Tyler Long
Generals should only be allowed when there's new content to discuss. But the only realistic way of enforcing this is self moderation. It works well for tanoshii threads.
Sebastian Reed
>6. Bring back ability to announce reports and sages. this is literally a public downvote, no >7. Mods should stop micro-managing conversations by deleting short shitposts that no one cares about anyway. and leave up every "xD" shitpost? no >9. Bring back /l/ there are so many fucking porn boards
Jacob Torres
I don't hate generals per se, but I'm concerned by the ever-growing amount of generals taking up space on the board. Constant generals for franchises with no new anime/manga are unnecessary and it just takes another obsessive fanbase to have another general take root here. Those kinds of generals end up as chat rooms more than anything which really shouldn't be allowed. Even 24/7 generals for monthly manga like SnK or Hero Academia are pointless as people eventually run out of relevant things to discuss halfway through the month.
tl;dr Why must there be constant threads for shit that aren't regularly receiving new content?
Anthony Wright
...
Ethan Ortiz
friends please answer my question ikr?
Evan Moore
It's so obvious that you're the OP and also the mod. Seriously fuck off.
Brandon Richardson
10. Mods need to stop deleting any thread that has even the slightest hint of being off-topic or loosely Cred Forums-related. We used to have so much more original content creation on Cred Forums, but now your thread has to be directly related to a specific anime or else it gets deleted after like 150 posts, which is in a way worse. If mods would just delete the threads they deem to be against the rules IMMEDIATELY, then at least we'd all be clear about the rules, but they try to have it both ways and let you have a thread for maybe 40 minutes to an hour before deleting it, which is super annoying.
Practically every other board on Cred Forums allows original content creation except Cred Forums. Absolutely no reason for this.
Landon Phillips
Ironic shitposting is just shitposting. >ikr
Lurk for 2 years before posting.
Gavin Evans
>public downvote Epic justification for general ignorance you redditard. Many people do not know what the fuck sage is, nor is it a downvote you asshat.
Kayden Sanders
>2. Mods should stop abusing short bans and should take ban appeals more seriously instead of blanket denying/blocking all appeals with no transparency. Shitposters will ban evade all they want, it's been proved for years now.
4. Bring back ability to bump own threads. This is just shitposting fuel for the people who still use sage.
7. Mods should stop micro-managing conversations by deleting short shitposts that no one cares about anyway. You're not helping and no one asked you to do this. Shitposting is fucking shitposting, but yeah if you have a shitposting thread delete that first and then return to your micro management.
9. Bring back /l/ where we can post lewd loli images. Just don't, loli is great on Cred Forums as is is since you discuss that shit with Cred Forums, creating /l/ would mean fucking Cred Forums 2.0
Henry Rodriguez
>tl;dr Why must there be constant threads for shit that aren't regularly receiving new content?
Because people want to discuss them, even if it's pointless garbage like "I want to fuck X".
Daniel Baker
Let's play spot the newfag:
Carson Turner
>Many people do not know what the fuck sage is Who you fucking newfag? Who doesn't know what sage does other than you cancerous /r/anime posters that don't belong here anyway?
Christopher Hill
>except Cred Forums And /jp/.
Jaxon Martinez
This. Muh Keit-ai and memes boggyman needs to stop. Idk why Jap cartoon fans like stale things so much
Robert Price
>file deleted >tripfag I'm here since 2005 kitto
Matthew Roberts
I have to agree with this, Cred Forums isn't so bad. I'm just concerned about generals eventually being too widespread and taking up too much of the board.
Ryan Evans
>discuss
Have you even been in generals? It's just namefaggotry and blogshit. It's fucking disgusting I want to throw up.
Wyatt Price
How much space they end up taking anyways? When the board moves slowly, it takes for up to two hours for a thread to get archived, and at peak hours it's as short as 30 minutes. Generals don't take any realistically significant amount of space, and otherwise you can always have the thread you want to keep alive bumped or something.
Daniel Ramirez
I propose we get rid of this guy. For? Against?
Mason Jones
>This isnt Gamergoy era anymore, redditor. Get back to Cred Forums already, you are embarrassing yourself.
Alexander Hill
First off faggots we need to stop making shetpost generals and dumbass posts that are just irrelevant shetposting that kill quality threads.
Second are the image limits going to get increased so there's no continual threads?
Third, what kinds of generals are other anons whining about? There's threads that have discussions going on; mandatory generals need not apply.
Hudson Perry
Exactly, they don't. And they won't unless you educate them or make that shit visible. Invisible sage has done absolutely nothing to improve anything. This place gets more and more popular every day, and it being visible makes fags that don't lurk anymore atleast aware of its presence and function.
Colton Ramirez
Okay, but people don't need an eternal general for that. Just make threads when they feel like it and let the discussion die out normally when people are done instead of having to bump slow-moving generals for no reason and have the threads filled with inane off-topic chatter.
Christopher Johnson
>4. Bring back ability to bump own threads. I swear I've bumped my own threads. Did I imagine it?
Xavier Lee
I've been in Yahari generals. They just repeat the same thing over and over. Maybe SnK and Jojo generals are worse, I dunno. I lost interest in those series a long time ago.
Ayden Watson
Don't see anything wrong that occurred around a few months ago. The thread was being saged. I wanted to get an appeal but now is probably good.
Michael Perez
You didn't know he's moot?
Christopher Sanders
why not you should go back on that shithole? Only a faggot like you would know muh Cred Forums content. Heck I dont even play vidya game shit
Robert Young
Some boards let you bump your own thread immediately. Other boards make you wait for 30 minutes, which is enough time for your thread to 404 on a faster board like Cred Forums.
Aaron Lewis
>Because people want to discuss them Generals are literally the opposite of wanting to discuss shit.
Connor Walker
It's not so bad now, but I'm just concerned about things in the long-run where if there are too many obsessive fanbases insistent on keeping discussions alive for no reason. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I sure as hell don't like the idea of Cred Forums having as many generals as Cred Forums. And honestly, a lot of them turn into chatrooms for regulars.
Aaron Myers
so? He's a traitor selling this site to SJWs and is now fapping to Google
Mason Campbell
Is he?
Jayden Foster
Remove Troid from the moderation team and bring back Kusanagi.
John Morris
Why not just increase the number of threads each board can have but have the auto-sage limit remain the same? Hypothetically, if there were double the number of threads that each board can have, than generals would stay up twice as long for people to use. Could also implent a system where ff the number of posts per minute or whatever falls below a threshold it gets pruned automatically. You'd have to up the max number of images though, too.
Josiah Ortiz
>impossible You can rangeban all mobile providers (which is already happening partly, can't post on Cred Forums anywhere via mobile providers)
Nathan Johnson
All of that information is in the FAQ on the front page.
Owen Anderson
4_han didn't know exist until 2010
Kevin King
For. He's just an attention whoring tripfag.
Hudson Gonzalez
It's not an impossible suggestion, just a retarded one.
Ryan Sanchez
Generals have momentum from the posts made beforehand. If you start a new thread, many times you need to samefag to simulate a discussion to get people to talk.
Luke Wright
Oh it must have been slower time of day on Cred Forums then.
Chase Lee
- decrease max posts per thread to 300, 500 really encourages generals - 30 second delay between posts instead of the 60 (which were supposed to be temporary anyway) - Show the old front page instead of the catalog to newfags so they don't confuse Cred Forums with a normal forum and have to actually lurk before understanding the site and posting - reintroduce public sage, newfags don't know that such a function even exists
Nathan Campbell
That only stops you from using the mobile IPs. They can still post from wifi. Besides, you can still post on those IPs with a Cred Forums pass.
Angel Hall
>needing to samefag to simulate a discussion
Holy fuck you can't be serious. Maybe nobody replies to your threads because there's nothing to discuss and your thread is shit. What a great argument for generals.
Oliver Turner
That's a retarded idea.
Owen Jones
Which doesn't get read by newfags. moot justified making it invisible by saying it encouraged sage bombing. Which is essentially saying 'self moderation is a bad thing'
Nolan Lewis
Who's moot?
Brody Kelly
>Generals have momentum from the posts made beforehand. If you start a new thread, many times you need to samefag to simulate a discussion to get people to talk. This. When moot took away the ability for OPs to bump their own threads, he killed a lot of new thread creation and cast a vote in favor of general threads. The variety of threads on Cred Forums has languished ever since.
Juan Cooper
>- reintroduce public sage, newfags don't know that such a function even exists
Dominic Green
If you have to samefag to simulate discussion its probably because a. your op is shit and didnt simulate anything most like you went what is your opinion on x, made some meme op thread or went x thread b. no one has fucking anything at the moment to say because they already fucking discussed it and you're just an obsessive fag who just doesn't know how to move the fuck on after a thread has died
Dominic Cooper
The biggest issue with mobile fags is they can instantly ban evade and can post all day. Banning mobile IP ranges solves this.
Nolan Collins
>Only a faggot like you would know muh Cred Forums content. I you had lurked "enough" then you would know from second mouth that Cred Forums is filled with e celeb discussion and other bullshit, now lurk more or get the fuck out.
Kevin Rodriguez
hi hiro or are you just drunk on saturday night
Luke Gray
Fuck you. That's how Cred Forums has always worked since forever.
Robert Perry
>reintroduce a reddit downvote/ upvote scheme
Good lord why do redditors plague here?
Ian Cruz
>Which doesn't get read by newfags So put a sticky or banner on the top of every board that links to FAQ/Rules?
Aiden Rogers
>Call it out, report off topic circlejerks etc. And get banned.
Lucas Stewart
Not just any general, the worst of them all. Fuck Metathreads. Fuck hero.
Carson Wright
How do you imagine such a plan could be implemented without being a complete disaster? Maybe we should also require people to create an account prior to posting while we're at it. That's how bad your idea is.
Eli Edwards
That works so well in Cred Forums not
Jeremiah Evans
there was nothing wrong with a weekly metathread. now it is a 24/7 anti-general general
Wyatt Hernandez
Gorespammer please save us from these shitty threads being spamed.
Thomas Moore
niqqa you stupid. did you come here after "no of posters in a thread" was introduced?
Joseph Bell
No, in fact it hasn't. If you don't have anything to discuss don't make a fucking thread in the first place. What the fuck is even the point of a thread that doesn't have a topic? Jesus christ.
Jacob Moore
Who reads the FAQ page? No one, it's irrelevant and garbage. It was only recently when someone brought it up that I remembered it exist and read it. Guess what, it's shit.
Ethan Hill
Not even true. Go on Cred Forums, make a well-written thread and watch it 404 in forty minutes. Then make a clickbait meme thread and watch it easily hit a hundred posts. Hell, even on Cred Forums if you make a thread on old anime it'll 404 with barely any posts in it.
Jordan Harris
If people break the rules you report them and you tell newshits to lurk more. Would you rather they get downboated? The FAQ isn't shit, it just needs to be more easily apparent that it exists.
Joseph Nelson
yes in fact it has. even moot admitted that before his retirement
Bentley King
>he talks to himself to encourage others to talk to him
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
David Bailey
You're baiting, right?
Chase Watson
Heh, I samefag most threads I make and end up with 100+ replies.
Bentley Ross
We get it. You've only been posting on Cred Forums since this summer.
I think he founded twitter or something.
If the only kinds of threads you think Cred Forums is capable of sustaining are the same subset of weekly threads that we have been inundated with for the past 4 years, then you very badly underestimate this website.
Aiden Taylor
>get rid of Cred Forums
>assimilate Cred Forums to /jp/
>make Cred Forums and /his/ a single board

Adrian Young
>"no good threads get posts only bait threads" You need to lurk more and find out how to post is the problem here.
Hunter Bell
>being THIS new
Thomas Jones
Wrong, newfag. The OP not being able to bump their own threads, and having visible numbers of IPs killed a huge number of good threads on Cred Forums when implemented.
Easton Ortiz
>lurked enough >on Cred Forums
god redditors are complete cancer. You need to fuck off
Ayden Russell
>if you make a thread on old anime it'll 404 with barely any posts in it
Yes see this is the problem. This isn't a thread that Cred Forums finds interesting to talk about, it has nothing to do with sparking discussions. If the OP was an interesting enough post, people would reply. Also Cred Forums is literally a meme board so I don't know what you expected.
Grayson Miller
>he posts in shitty generals all day everyday and is proud of how he is leading his life
Tyler Murphy
>lurked enough Who are you quoting?
James Diaz
Most newfags sort the catalog by "thread creation date", so sage is basically useless anyway
Isaiah Phillips
>get rid of Cred Forums Better yet, merge Cred Forums with /soc/, delete the board and rage ban everyone who once posted in them.
Austin Rogers
Mods and jannies are doing fuckall nowadays. Too little too late every fucking time. I'd rather everyone know what sage is and let shit threads 404
Leo Gonzalez
>make all new threads bump to the bottom of the board until they "age" some unspecified amount of time >what could possibly go wrong??
When people look for an active thread, they look at the top of the catalog, or on page 0 if they are retarded enough to use paged view. They don't look on page 5 or halfway down the catalog for new threads. Most people assume that a thread halfway down the catalog without any replies is a shit topic and don't even bother giving it the time of day.
Nathan Myers
Don't delete onee-san threads I need those
David Davis
You can use enemy's weapon to kill your enemy.
Bentley Jones
Every thread that starts with this topic should have this picture as the original post to represents meta thread of time of old.

it is very well obvious who he is quoting. learn how to use /jp/ in-jokes you get third hand properly
Christopher Green
Says the literal reddit apologist newfag.
Jayden Green
You're posting in it.
Brayden Wood
>Most newfags sort the catalog by "thread creation date" What. I don't think very many people do that at all.
Jason Moore
I scroll down the catalog
Samuel Murphy
Please pick an example that isn't the bane shitposting board and I might take you seriously. Old anime threads occur all the time and get lots of posts in them at a normal rate and sometimes even hit bump limit. It just doesn't fucking happen constantly. No one wants to talk about the same thing constantly but actual autists. Threads thrive if it interests people and dies if it doesn't. If it dies, no one who cared was probably one, try again later. A lot of the time, the OP itself will determine if people click on the thread.
If we were in an older Cred Forums, I could even bring up the front page argument because threads don't have fucking topics, only a conversation. So, people would join random threads for the current conversation. Sadly, the introduction of the convince features and the catalog prevent me from making that one.
Jaxon White
>le newfaggeng xddd >this post wont get banned >this thread will still be up some more time >mods will still be fags
Justin Hill
how would you even know this? they sort by bump order because it is the default
Camden Edwards
How fucking new are you Go back to your normalfag board and post dumb frogs, retard
Michael Peterson
Can mods remove the ban evading pedo tripfag? He shits up a lot of threads.
Ian King
Stop trying to fit in. Nobody is buying it.
Anthony Nelson
>make all new threads bump to the bottom of the board until they "age" some unspecified amount of time You don't sage an OP thread, do you? Of course freshly made threads will still go on page 1.
Besides anyone who's been here long enough should know to age threads if this gets implemented.
Brayden Robinson
Mods this retard is just shitposting at this point.
Christian Turner
No, separate one.
Jonathan Cook
>redditors get called out for being fucking retards >"let's ban the ones who tell us that we're retards"

no need to turn the blame here, plebbit

I just want Love Live threads gone
William Bennett
actually we do need this. Cred Forums should have at-least one good big board i knew you would say this. sorry
Nathan Mitchell
>make all new threads bump to the bottom of the board until they "age" some unspecified amount of time This is the stupidest fucking idea I've ever heard. The current system is fine and people need to learn the golden rule of "sage before replying to garbage threads".
All of this should just be in a fucking sticky. There is no reason the /wsr/ sticky even got removed.
Jordan Wilson
Left or right?
Jaxon Barnes
Just fuck off, board splits are fucking retarded.
Owen Brooks
This board is fine as it is.
Aaron Allen
Why are threads like this allowed to exist?
Samuel Peterson
bye
Ian Gray
Nothing should be changed. Don't try to fix something that already fix.
Lincoln Baker
no Some generals are cancer but not yet a problem to the rest of the board
Jonathan Carter
these threads should be autobanned
Joseph Rogers
Kaguya any time, every time
Lucas Peterson
Does anybody have any genuine criticisms that don't pertain to banning certain types of threads? I'm pretty sure Hiro is more interested in ways to improve the user experience for the most people, not to selectively alienate certain fanbases.
Camden Phillips
I don't think Cred Forums should bend over to accommodate generals, there are enough pages as it stands. It's the sort of discourse in constant generals that is more of a concern. They really shouldn't be used as a chat room.
The momentum doesn't count when so many generals are carried by off-topic, idle chatter in lieu of a lack of new content. If one wishes to resume discourse from an old general thread, one can simple bring up the topic again or link to an archived post. It's not very hard to do so.
As one who makes threads on occasion I understand it can be difficult to stimulate discussion at times, but think of it as in incentive to craft an attractive opening post(i.e. putting effort) and have some patience for people to notice it.
Matthew Torres
Yeah let's go back to just Cred Forums. Cred Forums has fear of change and stockholm syndrome.
Kevin Lewis
>Cred Forums should have at-least one good big board Literally Cred Forums, Just get your ass working on calling out the shitposting.
Caleb Bailey
Second one yesterday was deleted>3. Bring back ability to delete own OP on all boards. >4. Bring back ability to bump own threads. >5. Bring back visible sage. >6. Bring back ability to announce reports and sages. FUCK NO
James Flores
Don't blame me. I just paraphrased the other idiot's idea.
Jacob Hall
Because not every thread here has to be about "currently airing anime X", if you have not yet noticed This is not MAL or reddit, for fucks sake
Asher Peterson
Only newfags who don't know to age threads believe this.
Isaiah Cooper
Mods are dumb like that. Just slap an Cred Forums image to your blogging thread and you're good to go.
Logan Brown
Start doing something new like not allowing threads like these on Cred Forums since its a violation of the rules you retards want to impose. Keep this shit on /qa/
Brandon Wilson
No, maybe make mods less fags or something but no.
Hudson Baker
Not really. General threads just need some disciplining and spring cleaning.
Tyler Torres
>FUCK NO FUCK YES. There is absolutely no way you can justify any of these policies without invoking moot wanting to experiment with something new. Well, the experiment is over and it has gone horribly wrong. The website has a runaway shitposting problem and all of these policies contribute to it. To make matters worse, moot left us and the new guy doesn't have the full story about why the changes were made.
Dominic Peterson
>"sage before replying to garbage threads" Just use the auto sage thing on 4chanX and don't use sage on threads you like.
Lincoln Gray
just bring back noko
Elijah Adams
Not just does your argument make zero fucking sense, Cred Forums is the founding board. The MAJORITY of Cred Forums culture, Cred Forums included, starts from there. The very sentiment and interest in having the chans play as chans and not having generals here stems from that very culture, idiot.
Cred Forums isn't some retarded big evil bad we need to avoid, fucktard.
Joshua Johnson
Disallow namefaging
Connor Garcia
Nice strawman user. Cred Forums definitely needs garbage fetish threads up at all times.
Kayden Long
Either all LN's should be allowed, a separate board for LN's/Manga should be introduced, or we should get a new board for LNs/WNs.
Lucas Hernandez
>Keep this shit on /qa/ Then you'd create an even greater shitstorm when the normalfags there try to change Cred Forums while we don't even know about it
Chase Thompson
Can we have kana captcha yet Hiro?
Austin Williams
Because you're an idiot and there is nothing wrong with the thread.
Joseph Barnes
This.
Adrian Ramirez
You said board splits are retarded so let's just go back to having Cred Forums. I mean Cred Forums was a board split.
Connor Sullivan
>3. Bring back ability to delete own OP on all boards. Also eliminate the "this post is too old to delete" feature that kicks in after like 30 minutes. That's so fucking annoying. No reason for a post to be too old to be deleted.
Jason Perez
Make mods to stick their asses to their main boards, mods being global is fucking stupid specially for Cred Forums.
Cameron Harris
Better enforce current rules and standards. Anyone who wants to change shit is just some retarded faggot that doesn't like how people always interact.
Cooper Jones
Just remove the native extension completely
James Myers
Generals are pure cancer. The first time is ok, even the second and the third but then it simply becomes in a stupid memefest. No matter how much you like something, it becomes boring and tiring after a while. Either ban them or create a new board i don't care just do something
Nathan Fisher
>defending tranny fetish thread because it has an anime OP pic
Logan Roberts
>Cred Forums has fear of change and stockholm syndrome. IIRC Cred Forums's the board that's been split the most.
Juan Stewart
Again, you're an idiot. Cred Forums isn't a fucking board split, it was a board made to house a certain type of posting and give it more freedom. I can still go to Cred Forums now and post about anime and manga. It wasn't a board split. You don't even know what a fucking board split is apparently.
Charles Cruz
not an argument. This thread is a blatant violation of the rules imposed on this board.
Lincoln Thomas
fuck off back to Cred Forums
Evan Peterson
This.
Aiden Reed
We occasionally have "tranny" threads like that You're probably too new to know tough
Julian Hill
>Cred Forums isn't a fucking board split >it was a board made to house a certain type of posting and give it more freedom. This sounds like a manga board.
Colton Powell
Not only mobile fags Here where I live, static ip's are expensive as fuck, so the majority of people uses dynamic ones (i.e. reset your router BOOM new IP)
Angel Martin
This, asking for a laundry list of wide systemic or rule changes is unrealistic to say the least.
You guys should know you're wasting your breath playing armchair admin. Are there things you guys want that can actually be accomplished? I've been around here a long, long fucking time and I think a few minor tweaks to what counts as global 6 or 3 material would improve a lot of the board including generals by proxy.
For example, can we all agree studio wars threads are pretty shitty? Howabout ruining threads for shows with nonstop bickering over shipping crap or het vs yuri back-and-forth? Do people think stopping a handful of generals of established series (and causing a bunch of shitty drama and backlash over that) will prevent this more widespread mold from taking root in new series each season? It does not seem like it.
Shitty generals are a foregone conclusion; but what would stopping them do to prevent threads from new shows from going bad? Are you using the Jojo, SnK and Monmusu threads all the time or just want them gone because they're an eyesore, while you go back to your re:zero thread that is completely fucking ruined by a bunch of faggot trolls and pretend it's a better situation since at least this is a new series?
To me it's more important to have seasonal show threads not be dictated and ruined by a few drama queens / easy baiting trolls than it is to worry about series you don't even care about. Seriously get your priorities straight.
Blake Diaz
Issue C&Ds to chronic ban evaders, and report them to law enforcement or bring them to court for disrupting Cred Forums's services if they do not comply. Cred Forums is an LLC, so they are abusing a company's services.
Not saying that you should do this to every evader, just persistent ones like Barneyfag, Ruggarell, ACK, etc. It's an extreme measure but it would work.
Christopher Garcia
>I don't think Cred Forums should bend over to accommodate generals, there are enough pages as it stands. It's the sort of discourse in constant generals that is more of a concern. They really shouldn't be used as a chat room. If this was back in the early 2000s I'd agree with you, but nowadays we can have a thousand and one tabs open on a piece of shit Chromebook that its not really that big of a deal to be a part of fifteen different conversations at one time.
Tyler Parker
Make a manga board
Isaiah Cooper
First off gender bender isn't trannyshit and second it is no different to the threads Cred Forums has always had. Fuck off with your strict rulefagging bullshit.
Angel Cook
>Keep this shit on /qa/ /qa/ is the worst board that ever existed. /qa/ should never be existed.
How is that not an argument, retard?
Ian Rivera
If you add more rules it's just going to get worse. Except for banning generals. Fuck generals.
Benjamin Scott
If they were actually just discussing porn and fetishes then it should be in the panda thread. If they were discussing actual characters then it wouldn't have that as the OP.
Brandon Powell
This. Some fucktard from another board shouldn't have any power in unfamiliar territory.
Nicholas Myers
still not an argument. Calling me a newfag is also not an argument my newfriend
Brayden Foster
>threads have existed so they must forever exist Why are so many Cred Forumsnon literally incapable of change? If some dude posted his daily poop here for a year you guys would call it board culture and never want it deleted.
Nolan Robinson
No, a manga board is cancer. Anime and Manga belong together on the same board and are inseparable. You CAN NOT have one without the other.
Landon Richardson
/qa/ is a fucking containment board, if anything Hiro should just make an sticky in there saying that they are wasting their time or something.
Isaiah Brown
Splitting the board has never done any good. Manga are frequently discussed on Cred Forums when a new chapter comes out. If you're not around for that time the problem is not with the board but with you not being present at the right time.
Landon Moore
>You CAN NOT have one without the other. >this is what anime fags believe Manga does just fine without anime.
Jacob Bell
I agree. The ability to moderate Cred Forums requires a lot of extremely specialized knowledge to not issue bans erroneously. If pic related didn't have a filename of "To Love Ru," then mods wouldn't recognize where it's from, have any idea that it's from an anime, and would think that it's from a hentai and probably ban me, even though Hiro has made it clear that this image is 100% allowed on Cred Forums if spoilered. Even saying all this, explaining exactly why it's OK to post it, there is a 50/50 chance that I'll get banned anyway just because mods fucking hate us.
Just get rid of the whole SFW guidelines for Cred Forums. Nobody should browse this website from work anyway.
Nicholas Walker
Tenth? That's how many it has been? Jesus.
Michael White
Ban fetish threads (ass/tits/feet/navels/etc). There is no reason for Cred Forums to be full of imagedump threads where people occasionally blog about how hard their dick is or whatever.
Ryder James
Ban everything that I don't like.
Luke Phillips
Allow LN discussion. They're too mainstream for /jp/, and splitting up boards even more is a mistake, since a LN board by itself will die.
Dylan Ward
ITT: How to drive 95% of board traffic to other chans.
We are all newfags, don't try to pretend that you are not. Fucking newfags
Charles Clark
>Just get rid of the whole SFW guidelines for Cred Forums. Nobody should browse this website from work anyway.
This
Brandon Wood
remove kancolle general >no anime discussion >avatarfaggin >image dump
Nathaniel Richardson
>incapable of change? Because people don't want to change the core basis of what they have done for years and enjoyed? Why should a community stop doing what they have always done AND enjoyed to cater to a fucking minority of new users who just want the site to change to cater to them? Either you adapt or fuck off.
Robert Clark
Ban fatefags
Jayden Garcia
All we need is for spoonfeeding and recommendations to be banned.
Chase Scott
I'm guilty of enjoying studio wars threads, but I try to steer the discussion there towards anime staff as it is possible to extract interesting discourse about directors and animators.
Josiah Jackson
But keep armpit threads.
Ian Taylor
thats too costly for a site that barely generates money
Adam Jones
I want old Cred Forums back, as /gu/ or something of the like.
Please?
Sebastian Russell
Why the fuck do you want visible sage? For more shitposting? Do you want shitposters do delete thread for example of new episodes of currently airing anime few minutes after they made them?
Aiden Green
More like it should be on /h/. Porn threads have the lowest entry bars and the strongest gravity and just attract retarded source beggars and other shitposters.
Hunter Price
to add to this Fucking Neptunia generals
anime ended ages ago and it's all waifufaging
James Hernandez
This, look at Cred Forums. It used to be great but now its just slow, isolated eternal generals filled with tripfaggots.
Landon Gomez
What ever happened to tech/loli/gy? I thought we had a great thing going on for a while there.
Jason Green
Re:Zero has a new episode each week until well tomorrow. They have something to discuss. In another 2 weeks you should prune the fuck out of ReZero threads.
What the fuck is the Overlord or Mon Musume general discussing? It certainly isn't the series that the threads about. They talk about shitty browser games and ERP. Generals are fucking killing the ability to discuss the series; take Mon Musume, you can't discuss new chapters since faggots will spam their FIRST FOR X, THREAD DANK MEME XD if you post in their general and the same faggots will come to your thread if you make one of your own.
JoJo general has an ongoing anime so it gets a pass but god damn its fucking cancer and 90% of the people should be banned and will just continue long after the anime stops anyway.
Dylan Bennett
Then it would be just slow as fuck board with shitload of generals
Jonathan Jenkins
>what they have always done AND enjoyed Because it wasn't always like this. You have to be most deluded Cred Forumsnon to think board hasn't changed.
Liam Garcia
This one right here.
William White
Agree with you. It's really annoying when there's a stream of something
>Why the fuck do you want visible sage? For more shitposting? Educate newfags why their threads are 404ing. It used to work. >Do you want shitposters do delete thread for example of new episodes of currently airing anime few minutes after they made them? This was very rare even when people could still do it. Yes, it occasionally happened. So fucking what? Someone will just make a new thread. Cred Forums is all about ephemeral discussions. I think the native archive should be deleted and it should go back to being like a chatroom where there is no permanent log of threads.
Austin Powell
Generals should be b& in general. They're stale cesspits of circlejerking.
Logan Cruz
>Cred Forums must change!!!
Dominic Scott
I disagree, Cred Forums as a NSFW board would be just porn dumps. High quality porn dumps for the most patrician of people, but porn dumps.
Dominic Davis
There is LN thread from time to time, you just don't have to put LN in the OP and no one realizes you aren't talking about a LN.
Evan Cruz
The board has change but a lot of the core things people have done since the very inception of the site is still here. Such as loosely related offtopic shit. Most of the best threads on this site were "offtopic" and was offtopic posts. That doesn't mean Cred Forums should just become Cred Forums offtopic, it means there is no reason to delete all offtopic threads and posts. It's just mindless rulefagging that Cred Forums has never ever followed.
Jacob Sanders
>2013 What's your point by continually posting this?
Aaron Myers
Bring back Snacks
Tyler Myers
shhhh, don't tell anyone
Nathaniel Garcia
I agree.
Colton Powell
>I think the native archive should be deleted and it should go back to being like a chatroom where there is no permanent log of threads. Fuck off moot, archives are great for several things that had been already proved.
Austin Diaz
Honestly, I think things are more or less fine the way they are - the one exception is generals threads. It's just the same shit over and over again and it makes me unhappy to see all these threads that I've filtered because most, if not all, of the threads I've filtered are active.
Blake Rogers
Fuck off idiot. Archives are literally one of the worst things to ever come to this site. They are great for nothing and have only ever been good for less than 1% of threads/posts. They were a mistake and the only thing they have proven is encourage garbage like generals.
Brayden Jenkins
Pretty sure he hated loli, why would anyone want him here?
And then permaban anyone who avatarfags, this is fucking genius.
Jeremiah Brooks
and signatures while we're at it.
Landon Gutierrez
neptunia should all just be on /vg/
Jacob Fisher
hiragana/katakana captcha for Cred Forums
Nathaniel Robinson
Wordfilter "cuck", but have the replacement term be something random every single time so that people can't make a meme out of it.
Ryder King
How can an archive encourage a general? Also you clearly don't have an Cred Forums threads backlog.
Cameron Ramirez
Archives are what killed the old Cred Forums and made it into like any other forum.
Landon King
And if anyone in the threads mentions /vg/, they got upset and use the "but there's an anime adaptation" argument, which maybe 4 posts in a 300 reply thread discuss.
Mods should just make it clear that having an anime adaptation doesn't excuse having a circlejerk for a video game series.
William Reyes
I can understand and tolerate generals for currently airing shows, but why generals for shows that have ended still run non-stop is beyond me.
Nathan Bailey
Ban all generals. They completely destroy the discussion and only create cancerous mini-communities that attract faggots who don't want anything to do with the rest of the board and turn the threads into some kind of mini-tumblr circlejerks.
A general is the worst thing that can happen to a series and only people who are the problem want them. They are the very vocal minority, fuck them.
James Miller
Remove inline catalog Bring back neet.
Isaiah Hughes
>How can an archive encourage a general? The retention of data and making Cred Forums no different to traditional forums. It removes that main feature of chans that is ephemeral and short lived posting.
Camden Watson
Since people doesn't know how to hide threads, or lack the capability to ignore things that are not of their liking, why not give every genre their own board? Like a battle shonen board, an harem board, or maybe even a loli board... but then, people would complain about oppai lolis, then we would need to make another board for oppai lolis..., damn, maybe I didn't thought this right.
Wyatt Gomez
Use neet if you prefer it. What are you even complaining about?
Daniel Fisher
You don't seem to understand that Cred Forums has no control over what appears in your captcha.
>random wordfilters It sounds funnier when you are sipping mountain dews in your mom's basement watching videos of pewdiepie play video games. To the rest of us, that shit is just annoying.
Hunter Allen
no
John Kelly
I wonder what'd happen if we got a board for Light Novels, Web Novels, and western Web Serials.
WN's and WS's are similar in format, and if LN's aren't going to be allowed on Cred Forums, they could go with the WN's and WS's.
The disparity between audiences might cause friction, but they don't really fit on any other board and it could be a solution that keeps most people happy.
Cameron Rodriguez
This.
Ian Scott
I want /qa/ to go.
>Since people doesn't know how to hide threads, or lack the capability to ignore things that are not of their liking Just bring back visible sage and de-criminalize announcing sages and announcing reports. The shittiest threads will disappear overnight.
Grayson Long
Allow light novels on Cred Forums! Too few people and too many trolls on /jp/ to do a proper discussion. /lit/ just outright denies existence of light novels, Cred Forums is the only board which have enough people who like light novels and willing to do discussion.
Alexander Mitchell
I would love having a million tiny boards instead of a few big boards. I know I'm in the minority when I say that, though.
Angel Price
It would be a cancerous dead general board, simple as that
Samuel Gutierrez
Light novels belong on /jp/.
Tyler Nelson
Forum balkanization is the one sure way to kill discussion in an otherwise functional community.
Asher Wilson
The point isn't to be funny. The point is to keep people from using this retarded buzzword, and to prevent them from making a meme out of the replacement term.
Brody Robinson
Make manga/LN board.
Caleb Miller
>old Cred Forums We are talking about Cred Forums, post being permanent aren0t what defines Cred Forums.
Jaxson Mitchell
Fuck off nipplemod
Luis Perez
You can tell newfags are this retarded.
It is incredibly easy to ban mobile browsers from your websites.
This scared of not being able to ban evade with your cell phone anymore?
Jonathan Richardson
So does /djt/.
Dylan Morales
Word filters are meant to be funny, not moderation. They don't even work as moderation.
Dominic Bennett
This, the influx of cancer making low quality posts is disgusting. Quit trying to make Cred Forums into whatever board you came from. Either lurk or leave. Cred Forums is not Cred Forums Cred Forums is not Cred Forums Cred Forums is not Cred Forums Cred Forums is not Cred Forums
Mason Clark
There's no discussion on Cred Forums to kill. All anybody does here is shitpost or imagedump.
David Roberts
It's time threads should be auto-stickied. Hetfags get pandered to in every other thread, discussion about hot anime and manga boys deserves to have attention too without being pushed off the catalog by waifus, harems, lolis, etc. just because straights feel threatened.
Adam Williams
It will kill that too.
Blake Myers
Ban Trapfags from Cred Forums.
They are nothing but cancerous crossboarders from /lgbt/ and /soc/ and all they wanna do is perform erotic roleplaying with each other while attentionwhoring and blogging about their real life sexual activities and relationships.
They even post 3DPD pictures of real life traps on Cred Forums.
Austin Davis
visual novels maybe, not light novels which are close to manga.
Kevin Williams
>There's no discussion on Cred Forums to kill.
Brayden Wright
Don't even say that as an example.
Thomas Bennett
This.
Lucas Long
Because that's called "reddit" and "cancerchan"
Christopher Ward
1/10 try again
Matthew Lewis
>Cred Forums >discussion >functional community Only good threads are the small ones.
Gabriel Bell
That's the idea.
Eli Thompson
>This, the influx of cancer making low quality posts is disgusting. I agree with this. Ban people who post with broken grammar/spelling, ban people who can't capitalise their sentences properly, and ban people who talk like 5 year olds.
Ryan Allen
boards like Cred Forums need reform and rule changes because they're cesspools of shit-posting and memes.
Cred Forums isn't perfect, but it's one of the most civilised boards on this site, there's nothing I'd even consider changing.
someone convince me there's something actually wrong with Cred Forums because the one or two generals isn't really an issue Imo.
John Sanders
Go back to posting epic frogs on your cancerous board, retard
Lincoln Russell
Nobody thinks they stink.
Samuel Bailey
I love you Cred Forums. You're here to shit on me when my own family shit on me like the the blight. Never change.
Nathaniel Sanders
I wish they would remove all the ero garbage sadpanda threads etc and put them back on /e/, /h/ etc like, why does it have to shit up Cred Forums, it wasn't like this at all before.
Noah Richardson
The removing of generals is something that should be done chan-wide (besides /vg/ for obvious reasons)
It turns Cred Forums into personal tech review, Cred Forums into homolust, and literally caused the existence of /mlp/ and /soc/
Joseph Rodriguez
The general completely ruined Jojo threads. Jojo threads used to be very nice and the posters were regarded as good, but nowadays it's filled with tumblrites and /vg/ rejects.
Ban JoJo generals and the people who sperg about the pastebin or forgetting some bullshit "thread customs". Ban everyone who says /jojo/. Allow threads only when a new episode is out, for a few days or so and strictly for the discussion of the new episode instead of the usual "lel gay priest am I right".
The generalfags are a loud minority and got here only in the recent years.
Ryder Price
Free quests. Go back to 2012's policies of allowing them on all boards.
Fire the faggot who made /qst/.
Liam Cox
>Cred Forums isn't perfect, but it's one of the most civilised boards on this site /out/ is far more civilized, even though it's about getting away from civilization.
Jack Cooper
>but it's one of the most civilised boards on this site You probably just browse shit fast boards. Or you don't and assume.
Logan Parker
It's interesting how /out/ manages to be a pretty decent board despite how much people have been redirected to over the years.
Brody Rogers
It's a slow board, and I assume not many underageb&s would post there.
Michael Hill
There is a certain power tripping janitor specifically on this board, the one that times out posts that disagree with him or simply posts he doesn't like
Luke Williams
If anything /qa/fags are the ones in favor of generals.
Brayden Torres
Ban thing I don't like. I don't like it when people are posting things I don't like as they please. It pisses me off.
Liam Russell
>visible sage This. This so much.
Logan Walker
>it wasn't like this at all before. Check the archives, I can find e(x)hentai threads on Cred Forums even fro 2008
Elijah Cruz
>use 4chanx >continue to have catalog
I don't see what this changes. Do people still use default Cred Forums?
Adrian Cox
>mobile browsers
Spot the idiot. Anyone worth their salt uses an app or an add-on to get around that stuff.
Nolan Lopez
>someone convince me there's something actually wrong with Cred Forums Take a break from Cred Forums a week or two and come back.
You will notice it's like Cred Forums just couple years back. Even the posting mannerisms of a lot users are the same. You gotta call out when your shits stinking and not keep decorating it with glitter to make it seem nicer than it is.
Kevin Brooks
Most phoneposters aren't worth their salt.
Kevin White
Ban generals, ban saucefags, ban ERPers, ban waifufaggotry.
Lincoln Miller
they were never 24/7, they would pop up randomly as generic eromanga & dump threads. but look at it now, its just /h/ discussion on a sfw board.
Julian Hill
Cartoons and Comics should be split though.
Justin Gonzalez
Make a new feature that allows posters to ban each other.
Adrian Gonzalez
Traffic would go down to 0 in about 2 days.
Nolan Jenkins
Stop relocating Fate threads that start with a screenshot from the VN to /jp/.
Owen Fisher
>but look at it now, its just /h/ discussion on a sfw board. Starters that has always occurred and the "sfw' part is retarded. The ONLY PURPOSE that rule was ever put in place was to stop porn dumping, that's it. The problem with the sad panda thread is that it's a general and a irc circlejerk one at that. Anyone who thinks the /h/ part matters at all is an idiot and more than likely new.
Easton King
What? Those street sign captchas are what I keep getting even if I was making my first post in Cred Forums in weeks, and I does mot access other captcha site
Kevin Rivera
This.
Landon Rodriguez
Stop that.
Tyler Cook
This is a bit too downvotey, but I would be interested in a report counter next to a post that shows how many times it's been reported. It's probably a bad idea in the long run so I would just like to see it for a week or two as a social experiment.
Ayden Moore
This and people who used retarded acronyms as well.
Juan Phillips
>2% of posts in the thread just randomly deleted
My suggestion to improve the board is for mods to stop doing this. You're not affecting the thread at all. It's just unnecessary.
Xavier Cooper
I would only suggest this for boards I hate.
Ian Scott
deleted
Hudson Gray
...
Ryan Cooper
Cred Forums is really fine as is.
Cameron Howard
I believe avatarfagging can get you banned
Christopher Smith
This! If peoppe are going to get banned for using non a images then why the fuck are there 9999999 others that go unbanned? Ban all or ban none!
Also if there is a calm discussion where people are calmly explaining their standpoint - like or dislike the topic - then they shouldn't get banned for having a differing opinion than the mod who happens to wander by!
Lucas Perry
>posting reaction images >avatarfagging Kill yourself out of Cred Forums you retarded faggot.
Jason Carter
Fuck off and die.
We don't need more rule. We need mods with ball to enforce current rule. Like killing off those generals.
Zachary Wood
Why the fuck are we still having these threads? We had like 5 of these a week ago already.
Isaac Williams
Newfag trying to make Cred Forums into their homeboard.
Crossie scum.
I bet most of them are Cred Forums
Jaxson Sanders
Hiro gave his blessing. You can't complain.
Caleb Roberts
Generals aren't technically against the rules.
Some other boards have much more serious moderation problems than Cred Forums does and their unrest is spilling out.
Justin Rivera
Ban generals and tripfags. That's all we need, and all it involves is mods doing their fucking jobs.
Lincoln Rodriguez
Turn on the robot filter.
Justin Stewart
How the fuck are they close to manga? In that they arrive between two covers?
Brayden Perez
i have been on this site since it was a rizon circlejerk of ragnarok online playing college students. ero shit would get you banned until around 2011, being lenient on the rules has resulted in all of this. the current state of Cred Forums.
Joseph Hall
He thinks two images every 30 pages makes them related
Nathan Peterson
They might technically be different mediums, but there's so much cross-pollination between manga and LNs, as well as anime, VNs, and WNs, that trying to separate discussion of some of them out is like drawing a boundary between oceans.
Charles Reed
>mods doing their fucking jobs >im-fucking-plying Doesn't matter how many there are if all refuse to do anything.
Chase Perez
>i have been on this site since it was a rizon circlejerk of ragnarok online playing college students. ero shit would get you banned until around 2011, being lenient on the rules has resulted in all of this. the current state of Cred Forums.
Henry Hill
/r9k/ is filled with derivative shitposting so this will do nothing.
The robot was thought up of as a social experiment and it has obviously failed.
Samuel Perry
ESLtard spotted
Hunter Robinson
Reddit is that way
Jason Perry
Yea, no.
Charles Carter
10 He said it was ok to have one(1) thread, not a fucking general
Christopher Parker
It could work. orig
Matthew Sanders
Even an image per 30 pages is too high for some. I think Monogatari volumes have an image per volume.
Jayden Reed
The main problem with /r9k/ was that it had no actual topic. It was Cred Forums with the robot. If anything, it showed that it doesn't work in a topicless environment. It would be interesting to turn it on globally for like a week as an actual social experiment. It also uses minimal resources since I recall someone asking the dev on /qa/ a while back.
Ethan Cooper
The problem with generals is the threads are up 24/7
Wait until some worthy to discuss happens or let it breath a few hours at least.
Caleb Morris
...
Oliver Stewart
Just fuck off with these threads already.
Jackson Walker
You do know that you are just asking for generals to be banned, right?
Levi Taylor
Yes, I already noticed that apparently you're allowed to make cancer threads if you're a mod
Kevin Murphy
whatever dude, that's how it was. the only ones to ever get away with it were proxy dumpers before the user talk shit. which added captures and delays.
Matthew Torres
Ban generals
Gavin Walker
>this thread >started in the early hours of the morning >only been up for a few hours >400+ posts >"Just wait until there's something to discuss. GEEZE GUYS!"
Xavier Wood
It's peak time 24/7 on the big boards matey.
Julian Gutierrez
Is this you? pic related.
>avatarfaggin More like 2 avatarfags
Lincoln Harris
No, it isn't. They slow down when America goes to sleep.
Justin Nelson
Amalgamate Cred Forums and /jp/ again. Remove generals.
Make Cred Forums fun again.
Eli Jones
The problems are mods not deleting enough shitposting threads, and deleting legitimate threads because they are too lewd in the christian eyes of the mods, or because the mods are fucking retarded and don't know what's ontopic.
Owen Roberts
There's been a thread exactly before this one I don't get what we're supposed to accomplish here, we already had 8 fucking threads about the "issues" here a few days ago
Ryder Jenkins
Ban all normalfags shows like SnK, SAO, Tokyo Ghoul, Big 3, DBZ, etc, or create a separate board for them
Nolan Hughes
yes fuckin remove these shithole generals
Andrew Cox
Seems to imply that there's a lot of problems to discuss and not enough time.
Lucas Hernandez
Why not take it a step further? Ban all anime and manga discussion from Cred Forums completely.
Fucknut.
Landon Watson
You could read them instead of coming to retarded conclusions
Jordan Lee
Why is this thread and the one that preceded it so fast in the wee hours of the morning the? The last hit around 800 posts before it 404d
Justin Kelly
>he last hit around 800 posts before it 404d Because it finished up before 2:00 am. This one started at 2:00 am and isn't as fast.
Brandon White
There aren't problems. There are people that don't know what they want. Hence why we don't need any rules, just more mods or jannies with powers.
Hudson Gonzalez
>There aren't problems. 10,000 posts across a dozen different threads would like a word with you.
Ryder King
I think Cred Forums and Cred Forums should merge.
Anthony Myers
There are people that don't know what they want. Hence why we don't need any rules, just more mods or jannies with powers. Enforce current standards properly. People who want otherwise are fucking retarded.
Jayden Barnes
Wait till VR era, m8.
Caleb Rodriguez
What do people think of manga board?
Elijah Mitchell
>Hence why we don't need any rules, just more mods or jannies with powers. No. The last thing we need is more power hungry idiots and rulefagging.
Jordan Richardson
It would be a dead board.
Jaxon Hill
Same retardation as having everything in generals. We would need 2 separate threads on different boards for the same things
Easton Clark
I don't think so. Just have it on manga board,
Matthew Foster
So instead you propose more useless overly specific rules that don't get enforced because there aren't enough people overseeing them? Epic
Jayden Gonzalez
Good, let the anime fags wallow in their filth.
Landon Powell
We've been over this a million times, segmenting and having a bunch of small boards serves literally no purpose.
Connor Jackson
LN board is more needed though. Most cancer on Cred Forums watches LN garbage so moving them on their own board would benefit everyone.
Henry Perry
Two boards is not a bunch.
Jack Bell
Light novels belong on Cred Forums for the same reason manga belongs here.
Noah Howard
Just saw this thread for the first time. I'd like to just say that generals need to be killed off if it's obvious that it's a general at that point and let there be breathe of air between threads. That's about it. At first start with the damn Kancolle threads, they don't even discuss anything. It's just imagedumping and weird shit that has no place to be as a thread on Cred Forums till the movie or more info or mangos get out.
Brody Evans
Bring back /jp/ then if you think splitting up boards is a bad thing.
Grayson Morales
lns should just be on jp since lit would never allow such a thing.
Nolan Sanchez
Medium speed boards have the best discussion and post quality. Fact. Manga would be medium speed board. It is impossible for Cred Forums to be quality with current speed.
Mason Roberts
I'm seconding this too.
Sebastian Richardson
Mods don't agree with you though. >inb4 mods is shit This is the only thing they're doing right.
Brayden Sanders
ban only tokyo ghoul
Colton Sanchez
Enjoy your generals. A manga board would be nothing but generals.
Carter Walker
Officially, Light Novels belong on /jp/ though.
Owen Jackson
Why does this never apply to all the previously split boards? By your logic should be merge them all back together?
Kayden Adams
Standards need to be enforced by anons not mods. Obvious cancer should be met with a meat grinder. Cred Forums is not vicious enough; elitism promotes higher quality posts.
Tyler Green
Are you retarded?
Nolan Martin
Pretty simple. 1. No generals.
There we go. Generals are a severe, severe cancer and need to be excised.
Owen Myers
This go take a look at their thread now and you will see that most of the posters there are not from Cred Forums.
Joseph Morris
/manga/ would have no general rule, generals belong on Cred Forums.
Michael Butler
You retards keep saying that generals are bad but no mod ever agrees with you after all these years. Doesn't that make your opinion factually incorrect that everyone ignores your whining?
Carter Russell
Like that fucking matters. Topics aren't limited to a singular board.
Liam Wilson
And this should be changed.
Cameron Green
There have been successful splits like Cred Forums and Cred Forums but most recent ones have been shit (/jp/, /vg/ and many more)
Alexander Moore
You forget when jp was split off. So we'd be up to three.
Nathaniel White
You retards keep saying that generals are bad but no mod ever agrees with you after all these years. Doesn't that make your opinion factually incorrect that everyone ignores your whining?
Nathaniel Howard
Threads discussing the same series without the word general in the title (which they don't anyway) are banned. Wew, how the fuck do you plan on enforcing that, retard? May as well just remove the board.
Kevin Campbell
Quote me successful board splits.
Chase Sanchez
This
Luis Butler
The real problem is that nobody knows what a general here really is. is sadpanda a general? Are DJT and buyfag ones? Where should they move?
Zachary Russell
What is a general anyway?
Matthew Foster
While I do agree, if someone wants to _actually_ discuss the series it would just be condemned as a general and be deleted if this were the case.
Grayson Edwards
The creation of Cred Forums.
Thomas Wilson
This is how Cred Forums needs to be split /anime retro/ /anime ongoing/ /manga/ /shonen/ /shojo/ /seinen/ /moe/ /issekai/ /SOL/
Am I missing anything else?
Daniel Gutierrez
A miserable pile of circlejerks!
Nolan Taylor
At this point banning generals will not do shit because the posters here have gotten used to the general mentality that even if their generals are banned they would always make a new general disguised as a normal thread.
Christian Ortiz
/ESL/
Ryan Taylor
...
Ian Reed
The definition of a general is more or less this: a general is a recurring thread that is artificially kept alive, despite the exhausted topic. The thread is bumped with posts that are barely related to the topic and/or are off-topic. This describes the majority of generals.
To demonstrate how it works in practice in contrast to common threads: A common thread dies off as no one has anything to add to the discussion. Interest in the topic kept the thread going for 150 posts. It died, but it was enjoyable while it lasted. Ephemerality in action. Absolutely beautiful.
Then we have the general. It is bumped, even though little to nothing of substance is being discussed. It doesn't die, since it is artificially kept alive, so other threads' topics get less time to have a chance at getting explored. Another thread is made to take the general's place when it unavoidably has to die, due to have hit the bump limit. The interest here lies not in the topic itself, but the opportunity to discuss it. The thread is kept up so its good-for-nothing resident posters can comfortably post with equally shit-minded users, just so they can keep having each other's company. In the off-chance that a new subject-matter pops up, it is nothing short of fortunate that a thread is up so it can be discussed! The average user whose interest is not big enough to tolerate the subpar quality of the thread will avoid said thread.
Isolated from the rest of the board and deprived of the blessings of anonymity, the thread diminishes in content and post quality, and the general becomes nothing more than a glorified chatroom. A truly sorry state. Absolutely hideous.
Kayden Ramirez
Why is everybody in this thread so angry?
Ryder Allen
A script to jam them all back together, cause I'm way too lazy to go poking through that many boards.
Hudson Hughes
Banning generals implies banning the culture itself.
John Peterson
Limit general threads. No need to completely remove them but it's annoying to see the same circle jerking threads up 24/7.
Asher Smith
>bawww but I enjoy soggy biscuit
It would be hard to enforce, and fleshy tumors are hard to cut out with steel scalpels. But you still try. It would require competent and attentive moderation. It would be a bit damaging, too, but it's necessary.
Samuel Hall
Your first day here I assume?
Robert Morgan
There is 1 (one) surefire way to improve the board.
Josiah Rivera
It would be very nice if mods stopped deleting threads about franchises that got anime and manga adaptions because there are some people in the threads who discuss the LN/VN or whatever of it.
Austin Taylor
Aside from their instantaneous re-creation, a general on Cred Forums is no different from any other franchise thread. Same fags will flock to the same place and be shit
Gabriel Roberts
it will do things, it will cause 60% of this board to throw a giant autism fit when they realize Cred Forums isn't a bbs forum anymore.
2chan is still like the left side to this day, its quite amazing.
Cooper Brooks
How about limiting generals to weekends?
Elijah Bell
Should include JPLT 5 too.
Brayden Lee
No kanji please. I could barely memorize the kana right now.
Alexander Bennett
I am okay with this
Daniel Scott
>some people actually think Hiro will read all of this, much less do something
Christian Hall
>2chan is still like the left side to this day, its quite amazing. Probably because the japs don't try to force the culture of other places onto another community and just enjoy the thing they are using as it is. Japs also seem to like chans, so they actually treat them like chans, not forums.
Owen Lee
The option to switch to kanji would be a good tool for memorizing them.
Jason Myers
People just want a reason to get angry.
Matthew Hill
you can learn both kana forms in two days, this wouldn't stop anyone. you can also trace all of this in any non shit machine tl for a simple recommendation (it also works with kanji)
Christopher Fisher
Except you're wrong.
Chase Miller
>so they actually treat them like chans, not forums. Yeah, that's pretty much the issue, really. People who come to Cred Forums and try to turn it into a traditional forum setting.
Henry Parker
Can't someone just compile all the ideas into one big post?
Jose Kelly
I only want one rule: "Any kind of pepe and wojack post is an instant ban."
Aiden Ortiz
This and visible sage are the only two things I want. Everything is fine. Mods just need to consistently moderate properly. Purge threads instead of micro managing posts. Public OP bans. Dedicated or familiar board mods.
Yes but it easily stops any asshat who doesn't care about board topics for just a moment. They will only persist in shitposting if they're really dedicated, and some Cred Forumsermin most likely isn't. That one tiny hurdle is enough to dissuade lazy fags from trying.
Ian Adams
Any thread on any topic will have largely the same audience each time. You're being really naive.
Carter Bell
Please this. Frog shit needs to be confined to /r9k/
Austin Miller
Just make sure it doesn't accept Latin solutions, that way we can also filter out the completely computer-illiterate retards that can't into IME.
Isaac Turner
You underestimate how stupid people are.
Levi Cruz
WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR FUCKING PROBLEM
Kevin Martin
I get Pepe but why wojack tho
Brandon Allen
That's already a thing
Jordan Young
Yes, but there is still a cultural difference between a general and a non-general. That difference causes people to treat the threads differently.
Wyatt Williams
I think all Haruhi threads should be a sticky. It's the least we can do if we want to respect this masterpiece.
Charles Richardson
...
Andrew Young
If you don't even understand this then you need to leave.
Jaxson Wright
We need a manga board. Nobody actually discusses manga here, aside from newfag garbage like wsj shounenshit,or the five most poplar other manga.
Angel Hernandez
>Public OP bans. These seem to do more harm than good. For starters they never seem to lock the thread after issuing the ban, which makes the thread turn into an endless spam of mods=gods or mods=faggots which is nearly as cancerous as the op. I have also seen cases where the thread moves past the retarded op and turns into an actually decent thread, only to be derailed by a public ban. Visible sages don't do much either, if anything i'd expect to see an increase in the number of people using sage as a downvote.
Leo Perry
Ok let's start I think most people agree that we need Kana captcha, so I guess it should be first on the list.
Kayden White
Add flags so i can filter Australia, Canadian, and American posters.
Aiden Sanders
>which makes the thread turn into an endless spam of mods=gods or mods=faggots which is nearly as cancerous as the op. Nothing wrong with, really it just boils down to tradition and fun. The problem is them not fucking auto-saging it.
Luke Gomez
This. Manga with a few exceptions is less popular and gets drowned out. It could really do with a slower paced board.
Angel Rodriguez
This. Public bans only bring more mindless shitposting, no one actually see them and think "Yep, this guy got banned so I'll never make this kind of thread".
Christopher Richardson
You need to elaborate on these differences user because some people won't even know it when it's happening right in front of them.
Adam Allen
That is the first rule of the board you newshit faggot. Report dumbass frogs
Don't add flags please because I would get bullied for living in an irrelevant country. ;_;
Joshua Martin
I meant with locking the thread or turning off bump. Visible sage isn't a fucking downvote. It's used to infrequently that any promotion of the function existing only serves as a benefit.
Grayson Sanchez
Ban frog posting
Jace Ross
...
Dylan Carter
Instant 10 minute mute for the use of cuck, lol, jk, ..., normie, REEE, and anything similar
Xavier Hill
>Visible sage isn't a fucking downvote. Doesn't change the fact that people use it as if it were.
Jayden Ramirez
I think there should be an option to ban people who disagree with you.
Jayden Allen
whats with those ugly drawn titties
Ryan Harris
Just suck Hiro's dick so he make you a mod, user.
Brayden Ward
Found the shounenshit reader.
John Hughes
Hello, Pajeet.
Justin Kelly
Ok so uhh what's our final say?
Nathaniel Walker
How the fuck can you 'use it as if it were'? That doesn't make sense. You just don't bump. If in doubt, sage. If it's a shit thread that you want to tell OP to fuck off and let his garbage slide then sage. Sage all your posts unless its important to not.
Joshua Richardson
I bet it's the generalfags that post nonsensical suggestions in here in order to distract others from the real issue. I want the 24/7 SnK thread deleted. It's the first of many steps.
Alexander Perez
>Visible sage isn't a fucking downvote. Actually, yes it is. It fucking is because sage has no actual purpose. It's sole purpose is to not bump the thread and visible sage is to tell people you haven't bumped a thread. That's it. Outside of that, it's usage depends on the user, board and the culture. If people want it to be a fucking downvote, it fucking is. There is fucking tons of uses for visible sage outside of self moderation which are all valid and useful. The only thing people have against it is downvoting boogieman. Which, is a literal boogieman, because people are going to downvote with or without it NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO. I personally preferred the sage bombing of threads than the current state.
Visible sage was a useful feature that was removed due to a small minority of idiots because moot was at his I give up on everything stage.
Charles Sullivan
>Sage all your posts unless its important to not. >You just don't bump. If in doubt, sage. His point is that do you think all people use it like that?
Logan Baker
Have you never seen people who go into a thread they don't care about just to post >sage?
David Torres
>2chan is still like the left side to this day, its quite amazing. Smaller chans of non-english speaking countries too, but they usually also contain high doses of cancer, normalfags or autistic stormfags
John Reyes
>india >irrelevant
Alexander Watson
new thread
Sebastian White
Generals are never the real issue. It's the posters that make them and keeping them alive.
Lucas Carter
There's literally no argument against Kana captcha. The only barrier is the technical difficulty in implementing it since Google's reCaptcha is so ridiculously easy to implement it's spoiling a lot of webdevs.
Jayden Jenkins
Stop this.
Generals are the problem, the shitty users are an extension of them.
Brody Rogers
...
Jason Gomez
問題は、ポスターやその内容にあります。画像は無実です
Adam Mitchell
A boogieman that is defeated with just you posting without sage. Most fags wont bother spamming a thread until bump limit because it's so high. It's an unfounded fear.
Landon Murphy
This would be a beautiful experiment, but we'd lose a lot of posters /jp/ would deserve it tough
Cameron Hall
>How the fuck can you 'use it as if it were'? Were you even here when it was still visible?
Jackson Morgan
It's a boogieman that is easy as fuck to ignore because it doesn't actually get in the way of anything except help a thread 404 faster. The majority of threads aren't going to bump limit in the first place and never will.
Kayden Lopez
Well, it needs to be enforced because some faggots think they can get their epic frog memes archived here just because the thread's sinking now.
Ryder Clark
>meta-thread 24/7 This idea is just as retarded as removing Yotsuba from the 404 page.
Noah Cruz
美しい感情
Matthew Jenkins
That still happens, but it's not that obvious any more. Now we just tell the retard to fuck off or similar.
Grayson Cook
Posting in epic thread.
Nolan Ramirez
There is literally nothing wrong with frogs. No rule says that only anime images need to be banned :^)
Levi Smith
Move the following: Japanese learning general to either /jp/ or Cred Forums Buyfag general to /toy/. Drawfag general to /ic/. Exhentai general to one of the handful of porn boards. Image dump threads to either /c/ or outright delete them. Seiyuu 3DPD worship threads to /jp/.
With those gone, all that remains is actual Cred Forums content to moderate. Sure, there are other shitty threads but first thing is first: getting rid of shit which outright belongs on other boards.
Xavier Brooks
What needs to happen is mods actually need to enforce the rules. As it is right now, the rules hardly get enforced in any way what so ever.
As it is right now (jii.moe/Nkis1tD0l.jpg) this person is a the sole "authority" for Cred Forums and he does nothing to help the site as he wants it all to be his personal hug box safe space (self admitted). You can see first hand examples of his bias all the time, in the fact he bans people for things that do not break the rules, but are just things he personally dislikes. You can also see him play clear favoritism. He will ban people for being "off topic" if they are saying something he dislikes, but if someone is replying to the person he banned and talking about the same "off topic" subject but is saying things the mod personally likes, then he is not even touched. Blatant double standards and personal bias. That type of action is directly against the rules themselves, as said by moot.
Juan Foster
>These Crush Flesh wut
Parker Powell
People complaining about crossboarders is the newest fucking meme. Go back to /r/eddit
Justin Jones
>He's so new he doesn't remember that Cred Forums Cred Forums and Cred Forums were basically the same board for 10+ years
The newer, strict rules to appease autists like you that need their isolated hugbox are cancer.
Jason Torres
>newest Don't put yourself down so harshly user, even if you are the newest one here.
>Now there are literally zero reasons for this trash, but the mod is not removing this Hiro asked for it and anons want moderation improved.
The only anons against these threads have ulterior motives are are likely generalfags, who are desperate to protect their cancerous threads, and moderators, who are desperate to protect their cancerous lack of moderation.
Joshua Morgan
Good. At least 95% of the faggots on Cred Forums today are fucking cancer.
Samuel Miller
>SELFMUHDERATION
Camden Howard
yea
Hunter Fisher
>the other thread is 50 posts away from bump limit >this not is not dead yet We coulda hit a thousand lads.
