Tomo was clueless and didn't know Jun was doing shit trying to get on her level, all she cares about is trying to pretend to be a girl so Jun will notice her. Yet Jun can't notice her as a girl due to complicated relationship. Despite how he clearly does notice but tries looking away from reality each time.

They need something to break through the stagnation; Jun still can't ever seem to become stronger than the Tomo he's built up in his mind no matter what competition he beats her in or saves her behind her ass these days. They can't ever seem to be on the same page.
