I can't deny that the side effect of the world transformation really is beneficial to SK's cause. But I highly doubt that was actually his plan.
I think he just wanted to test his new weapon on the youngest member of the Godhand. Because as it turns out, it doesn't really negate Godhand's space warping abilities, or Griffith would be already dead.

SK has never once fucked up, he has exquisite foresight into the future and perfectly states that he gambles his shit on junctions of fate.

Fantasia was a junction of fate and SK enacted fate itself, Fantasia was ALWAYS going to come about but it was either going to be the Emperor or Griffith getting sacrificed.

I still think he knew what he was doing and was really trying to bring about Fantasia. The criteria for it is just far too explained and laid out, the only two beings around that could be used were Femto/Emperor and the past chapters Griffith was rushing to force the Emperor to have the same properties has him (double-dipped in the astral world)

What I'm guessing is going to happen, is that Guts is going to be whipping Griffith's ass, and at that moment, at the last second, the Godhand will show up and make Griffith choose to sacrifice something so he can live, and he's going to choose to sacrifice his kingdom... his dream, which is the only thing he cared about.

In the end, the Godhand took the band of the hawk, and then will take away his dream too, both as sacrifices. That's what Griffith gets for fucking with demons. Reminds me of that old saying "If you're going to dine with the devil, you better bring a long spoon..."

I get a really strong feeling that the manga will end on the island.
The Godhand will probably notice the "guests" in the reenactment of the eclipse in cascas mind and start to invade the island.
Guts is forced to use the Berserk armor without Schierke and will probably wreak havoc both on apostle and elven side.
We get some huge twist about the space kid which kills/banishes Griffith/Godhand somehow by completely separating the astral and physical planes.

I really don't want to have it end like that but Miura clearly doesn't care anymore and probably wants to end it as soon as possible. All these hiatuses seem like he is delaying the moment he has to.
