I honestly can't see why some are expecting this to be any good at all. Especially given who's behind it. The footage pretty much confirmed to me that Scarjo was not a good choice for The Major., and they couldn't even get the aesthetics down when a fucking movie from the late 90's was able to capture i near perfectly and it wasn't even a GITS adaption.

Shame the Wachowski's aren't directing it. I'd have hope for it being at least decent

If they wanted a Cauc Major so badly then they should have went with Charlize Theron. She actually has the height and build to, and is somewhat imposing enough for The Major. Plus she is a good actor.

This is almost a good shot, but just having a thin bundle of wires in the middle makes it feel like it's missing something.

Also the corset like body armor makes her look incredibly janky with her pistol raised. Shoulda gone with normal proportioned armor, of if they wanted something more scifi, something closer to Anderson's armor in Dredd

Because scarjo doesn't know the character, hell the director probably doesn't know either, or they just don't care and will do whatever they want with the setting in order to make the movie what they want it to be.

She also looks like she doesn't know how to use the gun she's holding but that's a less vital thing.

It seems pretty vital anyway, a robot should be able to hold a gun completely steady, its a small thing here, but it affects how much we believe that this character is a robot, and if the audience can't believe it then it's just a stupidly major failure.

Shit, even a normal human being trained in using firearms should be able to hold a gun steadier than that.

In what universe? Hollywood is almost as important as videogames in in popularising specific types of rare guns in the imagination of humans around the globe.

I think everyone is setting the standards for this way too high. The 1995 anime is probably one of the most aesthetically detailed anime's ever, it's fucking outstanding how good it actually is.

Because guns help sell the action, but that don't mean they're not anti-gun or that they know guns. Even with an experienced armor or firearms liaison on set, they'll go out of their way to fuck everything up
