no u dont but there are like 3 moments when you're left confused if you didnt watch the original OVA's.

as far as i can think there are no other series with a best harem end. Tenchi did it first and last. Other harems are nice while youre in the middle of an anime but fall apart near the ending because worst girl always has to win or somebody gets run over by a truck and yay more drama.

Isekai did it very well, GXP did it very well.
Hoping for isekai s2 or paradise wars. The only hope for the harem fetish.

The Problems most of the new Harem series are suffering from are bad main heroines and spineless MC.

Its always the tsundere bitch that is going to win in the end. 23ep's full of slapping mc in the face when he sees her naked foot and in the final episode its ,,i-i like you'' and worst girls has won.
It doesnt help that the MC is a total idiot, dense as a wall of Thorium and has plotarmor that defends him from any kind of conflict/critique in the plot. He says hello to a girl and gives back the pencil that a girl dropped and girl is in love. No work/character qualities requied. Look at to love ru or the other cancer. MC has downs but has a big harem. No reason just because.

There are some adequate series like Demon King Daimao. He has a reason why all girls want him-himself. But S2 for that needed because there is no proper ending.
The other anime with the guy from another world with the big ass sword and the motorbike-idk the name. He is op and has a harem beause of a reason-also himself. He also is cunning and controls the females.

In tenchis case he is a god that the 3 goddesses were searching for-nothing more to say.
GXP has a protag with the worst luck in the galaxy-almost legendary.
Isekai has a MC that is an allround combat mashine, best housekeeper, seikijin seemen holder and later king. Also he has OP mecha skills. And he is the half brother of tenchi.

Series that would have been better with a harem ending? that old negi magi series with a hundred girls or so. Dont make mc a 5yrs old brat and a warlock/wizard instead and let him own everything. Anime Fixed.

None of them are translated, so I'm not sure. The biggest problem with GXP was the director, and he isn't involved with the novels.

The Tenchi franchise deliberately try to stop powerlevel discussions from happening, by stating at some point that if you manifest more than 12 light hawk wings, you would generate a stack overflow error on the whole universe and destroy it. That is why Tsunami was only ever seen with 12 LHWs. On the other hand, if you are able to destroy the universe this way, you would also be powerful enough to put the pieces back together like it never happened. Kajishima in this way place a hard cap on how much power would be able to be used at any one time, and that we wouldn't end up with silliness of Super Saiyan Blue.

There are two theories; the one everyone else believes, which is that Tenchi by random chance was going to grow into a god.

Here is MY personal theory; Tenchi as a god, in the future, retroactively created the Three Goddesses in the distant past, so that THEY can create the known universe in the present, in order for Tenchi the mortal to be born on Earth. In other words, Tenchi is a god because his future self ensured his own existence retroactively. I know this sounds crazy, bvut Tenchi the God had intervened in the present multiple times now, and it really isn't that much of a stretch that a god with the power of time travel could cause his own birth.

Mihoshi's hard to read. I guess she figured out how things worked, especially by OVA 3, but Ryoko and Ayeka never saw her as competition like each other.
They saw Washu as a threat when she revealed her grown form, and Sasami when they saw Tsunami, but quickly realized there wasn't a damn thing they could do about them.
