Two weeks have past since the first battle and I'm back to engage in the second one. This time I had to prepare a tart. No (re)tards were involved.
The hurdle I had to get over was, that I had no idea what kind of fruits to use, since I'm ignorant as hell in that regard. Staying faithful to my initial plan, I only worked with the fruits I'm familiar with, are easy to acquire and can be bought without paying a fortune.
I thought that it'd be a rather mundane and uneventful task at first, but I sure got told otherwise after I actually started working in the kitchen.
And as before, I don't want my fellow meshifags, who might have planned dishes too, feel discouraged. Rather, I want you to cookpost. I feel lonely.
Looking at the chapter we only had a handful of ingredients and one issue. The problem was, that Senshi added an ingredient which I didn't have anymore:
>the scorpion soup I didn't have any of my original one left and cheating with a crab or scorpion broth didn't feel great either, but I got around that problem by replacing the soup with regular quark and eggs. I needed something to bind, thicken, the ingredients I was about to use. The tart wouldn't keep its solid form otherwise, even with gelatin. So I added quark and eggs to my list.
>Baraselia No fucking idea. The only thing that came to mind and which made sense to me, was to regard it as an apple. With that I got my main ingredient: apples.
>Mearauk The slices looked more like a tomato than anything else, but the fruit as a whole resembled more a cherry and so went with the latter – morelly cherries.
>Betahn Since Betahn is used as a topping and part of the créme, I tried to think of a fruit which, I knew, was used a lot in that way. The answer was either orange or peach. I went with both.
>Slime Slime was used as gelatin, so I went with gelatin.
Translation wasn't as good as I wanted it to be, mainly due to the scorpion soup, but that shouldn't keep us down.
Dylan Thomas
First I had to deal with the greatest obstacle of them all. The crust, which was the substitute for the dough. Pealing an apple the normal way was out of the question. After some tries I found the best method.
Cutting an apple in half and spooning out the flesh. It was way easier than I thought; however, that was only the beginning and the difficulty came right after that.
I had two hollowed halfs of an apple. Flattening them resulted in tearing the skin apart. After many trials and errors I found a technique I could use. Removing the top, bottom, left and right side. That way I got three peaces I could work with.
Grayson Morales
The apples' meat got mashed and squeezed to get rid of its water. Quark, two eggs, orange and peach (diced as good as possible) were mixed in.
The apple skin was perforated and laid out into the pie pan, covering the whole base and sides. After that I put the apple créme on top and spread it evenly. I put it in the oven at 180°C. I set my watch for a 15 minutes cycle.
Now we wait.
And wait.
And wait.
After 45 minutes I put the morello cherries on top and put it back in the oven and suddenly I had an apple pie. Another 45 minutes passed and I considered it long enough.
Cutting the tart-cake-pie and removing one piece of cake for tasting purposes.
DEKIAGATTA!
Jacob Watson
It tasted really good. The natural sweetness and sourness of the apples, oranges and peaches was enough and didn't require any additional sugar at all. The quark added a creamy yet neutral note to the overall taste.
The result was pretty good, considering that I only ever bake a cake during Christmas and never tried a pie or tart. Again I learned a lot. Looking back I made quite a few mistakes. I didn't put the tart on the lowest line inside the oven for the entire time, which resulted in a rather squashy apple skin layer. Letting it cool down made the base more solid, mitigating the mistake. I added too little quark, which made the apple flavor the stronger one of the two main ingredients.
Nonetheless I had a lot of fun yet again. I'll see you on the third battlefield.

Thanks user. Now I'm hungry. It doesn't help that there's still 3 weeks to go before the next chapter.
Michael Hall
I'm hungry too. >It doesn't help that there's still 3 weeks to go before the next chapter. One dish should be possible. The only way to bridge the wait.
Isaiah Fisher
Yoo, this looks great. It's not quite apple picking season where I'm at, but I'll definitely give it a go in a few weeks.
These threads are a blessing, especially during the hiatus.
Ayden Cox
>but I'll definitely give it a go in a few weeks. Good! Have fun. Be sure to post some pics too.

That other healer elf girl is cute. Maybe cuter than Marcille, even.
Mason Lopez
Is it Marcille or Marsilla or Marushiru? >Maybe cuter than Marcille No. Get out of this thread.
Evan Reyes
Marcille is better for lewd than cute, you know it to be true.
Dylan Gonzalez
>Lewding Marcille Get out now. There's even only one decent doujin.
Tyler Allen
Disgusting? Did someone really draw this and think that it looked good?
Easton Moore
>decent That doujin is god tier, I don't know what you're talking about.
Gavin Gutierrez
Even if so, it's literally the only fappable out there. I know you meant to quote me familia

Desperation for a good _meal__

You are doing the lords work. I'm reminded of when I attempted my own feast based around the Redwall novels.
General question to the thread? Are we saving these threads in picture form?
Asher Garcia
I want to see more elves in this manga. Even male elves
Leo White
I didn't catch the first one, but here's something I threw together in paint.
Cameron Phillips
Elf(male) is extremely rare in the wild.
Mason Cox
>Elf(male) is extremely rare in japanese fiction FTFY
Nolan Taylor
But can she uses ancient and forbidden magic to recreates a person from bones and dragon blood?
Thomas Cruz
Yes.
Christian Williams
>burnt apple skin It looks tasty (like crispy apple chips) and inedible at the same time.
Thomas Powell
Amazing OP, great job!
Next time, please do the imouto recipe!

How do you do it Cred Forums?
Jayden Gonzalez
Easiest solution is actually really dungeon meshi, just hang around someone that can cook.
Nolan Green
Good job, OP. It would be interesting to see some living-jewelry sweets or something. Chocolate and food dye, I guess?
Joshua Gray
Wherever you live, i will locate. I will find you. I will visit you. And then i'll make you cook for me. I'll give you some tasty beer, whiskey or something in return. Or i'll do the cleanup.
Adrian Thomas
They actually make jewel candy you know. It's mostly sugar.
Christian Perry
Though, there are species of jewel bugs.
Also, some bugs are edible.
Colton Allen
Yea, apparently they even have complicated stuff like this. Didn't know that.
Hudson Sanders
now just superglue some cricket/spider legs on that and report back how it tastes
Eli Williams
I would not recommend eating superglue.
However, I've eaten some sort of dried salted bugs from Mexico once. Tasted like salty dust.
Josiah Wilson
Use extra thick syrup as glue.
Joshua Richardson
This thread went from tasty to disgusting as fuck real fast.
John Torres
>bugs >disgusting Try it Cred Forumsnon. You will change your mind.
Hudson Hill
I don't have any more disgusted Marcille pictures but I would post them if I had now, believe me.
Eli Diaz
There is always this.

Awesome as always. Where did you learn to cook so good, user?
Isaiah Brooks
Bugs are surprisingly tasty. Though i didn't try to outlandish stuff.
