I mean this series was never really anything special, though it had it's moments. But with every new chapter Ishida just proves how much of a hack he is. He should just end it already, the more he drags it out the more it becomes apparent that he can't write a coherent plot.

They were arguing that Akira said she only likes them but when given the culture context (and Japanese is a very heavy contextual language) she was saying that she loved them.

Before that scene it was easy to infer that Akira hated Takizawa or thought he was a total shit given that they fought constantly. This scene was to show how much she loved Takizawa (and Amon).

Akira has always tried to separate her work from her feelings (Takizawa described her as a cold-blooded woman and Akira treated Amon very coldly from the get go). Akira tried to do that with Takizawa originally in this arc but is failing currently.

That he might be worn out doesn't change the fact that Mutsuki shouldn't have the strength/kagune power to rival (or even overpower) that of the vastly superior opponent that is Takizawa, let alone be able to just crush his balls with her feet, given that his entire body, minus his eyes, are reinforced by ghoulish skin that is stronger or weaker dependent on RC count. (where Takizawa easily beats Mutsuki)
