We get an E.T. every other week at this point, but they're advertised too much and people have short enough attention spans that they don't have any lasting impact.

Ocarina of Time was unbelievably good when it released.

Majora's Mask blew even that glorious title out of the water and remains one of the greatest classics of all time.

The Witcher games were all outstanding for their respective released dates, certainly worthy contenders.

I am currently having an absurd amount of fun with Divinity: Original Sin. I've always liked Larian games, but this one is bringing back the feeling of pure joy and excitement to explore that I haven't felt since N64 days.

Bioware did some legendary stuff back in the day too, before they were cuckolded by EA and soul-raped into mediocrity. Both Mass Effect and Dragon Age Origins were impressive titles. Although Mass effect 1 felt too short to me, generally speaking the whole series was fun.

Morrowind was perhaps the greatest game of it's time, too. Enough for Bethesda to have since endeavoured to pump out shit game after shit game and STILL manage to ride high on the coattails of Morrowind's good will.

Honestly it's really hard to pick a best game.

Did anyone else get really bummed out at the save the children ending? Was genuinely upset when in went back to see the Baron, had seen he wanted to change his ways and become a good man. Such a shame their isn't any other quest as good as the Bloody Baron quest.
