decently

Downloaded GM, installed it and haven't even done one tutorial.

On the other hand, it reminded me I've always been curious about how Doom levels were made, so I got Doom Builder and I'm learning it.

going alright

What was that game maker humble bumble or something like that in steam? And why is it suddenly banned from dev threads?

OT: I'm in the "writing the lore" part. I want my game to have as interesting lore as TES. I don't know if it's worth it, though.

why's GMS crossed out, OP

>I'm in the "writing the lore" part
No one's gonna read that shit let's be real. You'll be better off if you let the community write it

Because drag and drop isnt making games

>still doing the "let's cross out GMS but not Construct 2" meme

GAMES RANGING FROM SUCCESSFUL TO WILDLY SUCCESSFUL MADE IN GMS:

>Barkley 1&2
>Hotline Miami 1&2
>Gunpoint
>Cook, Serve, Delicious
>Spelunky
>Hyper Light Drifter
>Va11-Hall-A
>Undertale

GAMES RANGING FROM SUCCESSFUL TO WILDLY SUCCESSFUL MADE IN CONSTRUCT 2:

>

But what was all that thing about? I wasn't paying attention to v/steam those days. Spoonfeed me, please.

You're probably right. But the thing is that I want my game to have god-tier story, and for that to happen I need to write about some things first (gods, creation myths, ancient races, etc). It's not so difficult since everything is taken from other cultures beliefs.

Is there actually not a single good game made in C2? There has to be one.

Is polycode good

Learning the hard way that having a backup is a really good idea, and that seagate harddrives suck.

Yeah, I'm building my own rig and literally everyone I've talked to has told me to give Seagate the middle finger and keep looking.

eeeehhhhhhyyyyeeehhhhh.

should be done soon.

Oh well, 3tb of projects and life all lost in the ether

Post more

dope art. more?

>And why is it suddenly banned from dev threads?
it's not, just some autist who can't into GML

why do you keep forgetting me guys... guys?

want to do a simple 2D game
engines feel bloated and overkill
c++ is bloated shit
c is too low-level, too little abstraction
haskell is great but i don’t like having to load two hundred megs of abstract math modules into a one-hundred-megs binary to open a window
pretty much everything else is shit

i’ve been trying to make games for many years and I simply cannot settle on a language. Every time I do, I remember why the particular one I chose is shit, ’cause they’re all shit in their own way.

please help

>c++ is bloated shit

bad meme

>simple 2D game

Fuck man, Gamemaker.

more

>not creating your game directly in x86 assembly
it's like you don't even want your game to be optimized

Seems like you're incapable of making a game. Drop it.

GO TO YOUR ROOM COOKIE STENCIL GAME DEV ENVIRONMENT

I'mma download YoyoRPG tonight so I can finally put these fuckers to good use

If it's 2D just use gamemaker and just get it done. For all the time you spend worrying about pointless stuff like that you could've been actually developing games.
Like holy shit even scam artists are getting things done and build up their portfolios while you're over here playing idea guy.

How about - this is a pretty crazy idea, but hear me out - how about, instead of dropping development at the slightest sign of difficulty, you don't do that, and just like make game.

i scared myself when testing the new ai. Sneaking around on his own i lose where the fucker is during testing.

all of those games would benefit greatly from a more complex engine

Fucking this.

if you already can't decide on an engine, how the fuck are you going to design a videogame
jesus

>C++ is bloated shit
t. java baby

atleast use C#
don't fall for the GM meme

Give concrete examples of such benefits.

And yet, here they are, existing on the Gamemaker engine, raking in absurd amounts of money. Undertale made 2 million and there's no telling how much Hotline Miami 1&2 made across all platforms.

Well now I'm writing a book.

I'm better at math than English, but I'm better at writing than coding.

Maybe if I become a book-based-billionaire I can afford a creative team of dudes to help make my dream a reality.

God I fucking love worrying about stupid shit while devs using engines just make their game

faster framerates for starters, locked 30fps on games like hotline miami and cook, serve, delicious affects gameplay, Hyper Light Drifter is the worst offender by actually adding a layer of artificial difficulty

I'm not sure how someone who uses Java could possibly think any other language is bloated.

progress not really focusing on parts that show off a lot atm. and I'm kinda sick of reposting the same webm again and again.

Actually looks pretty disturbing, good work

Absolutely not. Game Maker is great for simple games. What engine would make it better? Obviously creating the game from scratch is better but major engines are very bloated and often unoptimized.

Every unity game I've ever played felt like shit, just as an example. Even turn-based games like Wasteland 2.

Locking to 30fps is a developer decision in GMS.

thanks mate

Because it's a toy, not a real engine

>that duck monster

this isn't a fnaf fangame is it?

no its a horror game im making for halloween

Watching some tutorials and thinking about some ideas.
I should just begin with simple games and eventually jump into one that will give me money, but for now it's better to just do it for fun.

2 sentences in and I already perfectly clear you'll never make a video game

go back to Cred Forums or whatever shithole you came from fizzbuzzkoder and keep pretending that you're a """"software developer""""

Whatever, just do something and learn from it.

This! every time i work on a small one day game or even a quick 6 hour game i always learn how to make something better.

it started for me here. pic related.

Looks nice.

I'm trying to pixel art, but everything looks flat and boring. Does anybody know how to make pixel art like mother 3? I mean, really minimalistic (almost no details, shadows, etc), but looking good?

>watching tutorials
>not just googling everything out yourself
fucking casual

you DO know that 30fps is not a limitation within the engine, right?
the devs recided to make it 30fps, even gamemaker can handle 60fps just fine, provided you actually code your game to do so

Because images that mock people is found to attract butthurt college students to help bump up this thread without much e-celeb drama and more annoying shitposting. The actual devs in the thread don't care about engine war but they can't post that much progress since good gamedev takes a lot of time.

Hence why OP use that particular image.

How's that blatant trolling going?

I'm working on a point-based rendering game engine which will remove the need of the normal rasterisation pipeline.

Framerating setting right here senpai, devs just be shite. you can even do all sorts of shit with this thing directly in code, s pretty neet.

...

working on polishing my game with better art so i can start a twitter and tumblr page to shill.

Where my autistic Hammer bros at?

>Spend 1,500 hours+ making things in Hammer
>Release one decent but mediocre map ever

That's sad.

OT: I'm struggling to find an easy way to do the 100+ animations I want for my game. I was thinking in rotoscoping animation, but I don't know how the frames would look when I resize them to 32x32 pixels (which is the standard size for each frame for sprites in rpg maker)

spent 2 hours on it 3 weeks ago

Your hair have more detail than your face/skin.
Kinda shows in your gif.

Yeah, do that. That sprite could look better. What engine? Also how are you going to shill your game? I need advices in that aspect.

what other details can i add to the face?

Game Maker.
probably just gonna create a twitter&tumblr to update progress, and tag some hashtags, and casually shill my sites around Cred Forums, /agdg/,
since i asked for helps a lot here anyway~
might as well get twitter and tumblr prepared if someone got interested and asks me for the link one day.

>what other details can i add to the face?

Not sure. how about some shading to highlight nose, side and cheeks? Because the hair and clothes have shading while the skin don't. It look awkward and not harmonious.
I suggest you check how other very good pixel artists do their sprites and learn why they do their shit like what they are doing. Just google and check out pixeljoint.

Have fun working around memory constraints

I'm like 90% sure HM isn't 30fps locked.

yeah, what u said make senses.

okay, i hope this look much better.

thanks for recommending pixeljoint too, never knew such site exists.

Let's face it, languages like C, C++ are pretty much overkill for "a simple 2D game". Seriously if you just wanna like make game you should just stick with gamemaker or if you don't like that use a ez scripting language like lua or python or something. With that maybe you will actually finish a game someday.

Trust me, I've tried both ends

give neimu of geimu

I made a computer game when I was 12, you all are fucking fags

>didn't make his own OS at 6 years old
sorry but I'll have to rescind your gamedev license, please take a complimentary cough drop and leave this website

Now the enemies are moving around!

Specifically, in my direction!

yeah well I made a video game when I was 2, fuck off

>computer game
>computer game
>computer game
damn all you kids and your stupid computer games! snap where are my dentures

still going for the Rareware SNES era style game.
Added 3D water to 2D game.
Still unsure about the VCR filter. (first half of webm is filter on, second half off)
Crystals and acorns custom created rendered and added as game objects.
Rest is still DKC graphics to have a visual reference for now.

I personally prefer VCR filter off. Maybe you could make it optional and let players choose?

""""fixed"""" my alpha issue from last thread, by not rendering the transparency pixels at all (using cli(-1) in the shader when detecting those pixels).
it's definitely a hack but fuck it, every new Unity version fuck my shit up it's annoying.

>Maybe you could make it optional and let players choose?
Probably what I'm gonna do, yeah.

I've done the first tutorial in GM. It took me less than one hour and it leaved me satisfied enough. I will try to learn even more.

>I'm gonna be stuck in Arizona for a week without means to gamedev or even just game period

Fuck

Nothing at all? Not even a laptop to make some basic art/sprites/assets/writing or whatnot?

Monolith

Laptop died last week.
I guess at the very least I could bring a sketchpad and hash out some ideas and designs.

train
no substitute for hands-on experience
if you start looking at things carefully, you'll start seeing how it's done, it's like listening to music and hearing the progressions after getting to know what they are.

I'm seriously starting to move to construct 2 from unity, it seems like it has a much better workflow for 2D games, I'm just unsure about how customizable it is or rather how much I can do with code to make things happen.

>learning how to use blender after using 3ds max
fuck me

it's the newest meme because op forgot to buy the bundle

/agdg/ is here trying their stale memes out on Cred Forums

why would you switch from 3ds max to blender?

Blender is completely free

Protip: you switch screens with ctrl+arrows don't use just one screen and constantly fiddle with windows
Default setup pretty much has a workspace for every kind of job you don't need to customize anything

Problem is I spend way more time trying to draw shitty sceneries and making animations than actually creating a game.

I want to do some kind a sidescroller with soulslike and exploration mechanics, but I feel this is just generic as fuck and people wont give a shit.

Still trying to figure out a way to port some of my characters into the story of the game I went with from this poll strawpoll.me/11257125
It's hard trying to fit in the little sister and the brother, although I might try making him his own scenes. What organ should protag take from him?

>Problem is I spend way more time trying to draw shitty sceneries and making animations than actually creating a game.
Gamedev in a nutshell

Thanks for the tips anons.

A few NPCs with sleepy idle animations

Does anyone have any good Pixel Art guides to recommend?

Jesus christ, that thing looks like a fucking mistake.
It's kind of relatable.

Why is GameMaker crossed out?

Trying to make something of a TIS-100 clone. So far i got the "engine" kind of working. Really kind of.

Just adjusted the perspective and added another layer in the very back.
Think it looks a lot better now.

Which one?

I'm trying

I don't get why people think never making a perfect game is somehow better than releasing a non-perfect game.

If you take the time to make a purpose-built engine and it causes you to never release a game you haven't accomplished as much as the guy who made his game on a "shitty" engine and released it.

>what is learning

Source will always hold a special place in my heart since it's the only reason I ever went full autism into game dev and learned c++.

But my god do modern engines make it look like a fat pile of shit.

eyyyyyyyy
that's pretty good

I really hope you know Hotline Miami 1 was completely ported to a new engine (because GM runs like absolute shit) and 2 doesn't even use GM.

Learning is fine, every dev's fucked around with something like writing a physics engine or made a simple opengl application, I'm more referring to people who act as if there's no reason anyone should ever use a non-proprietary engine.

I stopped making progress, games just dont appeal to me anymore. dont know what to do with these 3Dmodels tho

Ya those people are stupid

Hahahahahahahahaha. That's you. That's all your life has ever amounted to, sourcefam. What's it feel like?

This is you. This is literally your """"work"""". What makes you think it belongs here? You pathetic alcoholic. Hahahahahahahahahahaha. :)

That's horrible

Research what Momodora IV and Salt & Sanctuary done, and which games they're took inspirations off did too.

Sad.

...

>he's so fully drunk right now he thinks that's acceptable
literally lmaoing @ your life sourcefam

But I didn't post any info
what do you mean

Just fix those platform and those bland character (add more depth to them) and it should looks okay.

Not amazing, but okay.

Like in Dreams?

Are you rendering frustum-space clusters of particles or what?

>COMPU-PUPUPUPUPU COMPUTER GAMES!
youtube.com/watch?v=HiOi-KSiGM0

>sourcefam is still at it
Oh dear. Looks like we'll have to call the monkey house again...

You were a mistake, sourcefam. You were always a mistake.

Slow as fuck.

>GML feels nice to learn and do
This much fun should be illegal

I'm probably going to make a game about animals, something nice.

I like your work.

I made a main character, some animations and a level over the course of a few hours yesterday and then I got distracted by job shit. I might get back to it at the end of the month.

very slowly due to chronic fatigue

what engine?

Space game?
Should work on planetary environments first.

>not just making your characters in poser, exporting and rigging.

Don't samefag, shitfam. We all know it's you. And we've already called your mother about it.

looks cool user

I'm not him, I'm just cheering up a mentally disabled kid.

How about you fuck off, Reek? /agdg/ didn't want you, Cred Forums doesn't want you, /ic/ doesn't want you, and Cred Forums doesn't want you. Maybe you should just end your life, sourcefam.

...

Please report the source image, and every post with "sourcefam". It's one /agdg/ shitposter driving some shitty meme into the ground.

>no artistic ability whatsoever
>if I release anything Cred Forums will call it disgusting pixelshit made by an autistic hipster

...

...

Depends on gameplay.

seriously? I saw when you posted previously, I think you said the Sun was to scale - are you drawing all of the bodies to scale?

and we would be correct

This poster needs to be FUCKING BANNED.

What do I do then?

nobody should care what Cred Forums thinks

use placeholder assets until you can convince a competent artist to do it.

The transition between the 1st and 2nd attack seems kinda weak. Maybe have the slash go all the way up instead of just to the middle and then magically appearing behind the user.

yeah it's to scale, I watched a talk by squad about how they did it in KSP

basically has an internal 64-bit coordinate system that is then reprojected around the camera on a separate layer to keep everything close to the camera nice and high precision

you gonna learn boy

And why should you care?
Besides, Cred Forums loves unknown/underrated games.

It's dumb, but I wanna work alone
I don't want to be dependent on someone
More importantly, I don't want someone dependent on me
What if the game blows up in the lets play circle
What if someone sends it to pewdiepie like "play this" and there's porn of my shitty 2 second pixelshit within a week

Banned? needs to be murdered by police for what he's done. Doxxing, terrorism, and for over 6 years now he's been ruining /agdg/ with his ""work"".

what if you win in the lottery tomorrow?
or get hit by lightning?
why do you think like that?

Is hating on source some kind of new meme?

It's actually a bug.
I think it looks cool!

mods, when you're done issuing random warnings, do some actual work and ban this guy already.

infamous /vg/ shitposter, posting and replying to himself ad infinitum. if you dont believe me, go ask people on agdg.

>It's actually a bug.
There are no bugs. Only features.

>What if someone sends it to pewdiepie like "play this" and there's porn of my shitty 2 second pixelshit within a week
That would be a blessing. You'd have a chance to get famous. At that point you should give even less fucks about what Cred Forums says about your game.

Yeah okay fair point.
I overthink things hardcore. Probably why I haven't gotten shit done on any game of any quality ever.
I probably should do that.

...

I have problem with Blender, when I try to click any option the list appear for sec and then disappear.
Can't choose anything.

Someone discovered non-euclidean spaces.
The game better be good because I like that shit.

That's right my friends don't use GMS, its just kiddy shit, you don't want to finish your game and have everyone know its made with GMS right? I would never use GMS myself, if you don't build your own engine you aren't worth of being called a true gamedev.

nice

you faggots need to stop making these threads on Cred Forums so often

Nice!

This is disgusting. I'd tell you to never post again, but I know you'll just ban evade and do it anyway...

There is, yeah. Mibibli's Quest looks kinda' bad and doesn't sound great but it feels good enough to play and is loaded with a ton of interesting ideas.

The only other game I've seen being made with Construct that looks interesting is Ghost Song, but that hasn't come out, yet.

have some fanart

I'm thinking of using a 3D models to create sprites for a 2D isometric game, like those old isometric PC games, is there a program specifically built for this? Any tutorials or resources that I sould look into?

love it

Exactly!

literally why is this here

reported

It's exactly what someone does when they complete a bad game and get feedback on it.

added this to my game

Did someone link agdg to the thread? What's with all the fucking shitposts and memes that ruined that very general?

I don't even know what I'm making
I'm just throwing ideas together

...

Yes. All power ups that you use to access new areas can also be used as a form of magical attack.

I have mangaged to save up 50,000$ through hard work and i'm thinking about quitting my job and work full time on indie game. Should i do it?

artist here, looking for a programmer

Problably not.

Kill your fucking self, millennial scum.

Does RPGMaker count?

Why not take a vacation and try to start on your game. If it'll go nicely - you can quit your job.

This is garbage. Complete fucking garbage.

absolutely not

Sounds like a better plan.

You know what you could do? Make it so you have to be facing towards the wall to wall jump, then make the camera turn 180 degrees horizontally, with aditional vertical bobble so it looks more fluid.

Because wall jumping like that is weird.

Everything counts don't be discouraged by other's autism

No. If no free time, see about switching to PT?
Also what said

not yet. That barely even counts as live savings. Have you worked for a big company before? They should give you the experience before you fly for yourself.

Slow

clyp.it/03nepoj4

Please never post this again, thanks

Same goes to any other source shitter gremlins lurking itt. You are NOT wanted here. You don't have to go home, but you do have to FUCK OFF, or something like that. Lol. :)

>2016 and people are actually defending OOPs

>an actual horror game
>and its not 2D

Godspeed, can you share a title name?

The Next Penelope was decent.

Also The Iconoclasts NEVER EVER

It's great to let people play test your game.
I-Im not eager to try it or anything, b-baka

Don't tell me you are actually defending that filth.

I'm looking for an artist, working on the start of a survival game with a little spook

I really don't like the dust. I think there's way too much. If no objects were on-screen, it might look like you're going ridiculously fast, because the dust sort of looks like stars.

sounds fun, what language/engine are you using?

since I'm not gonna finish my own spoop game here's my proposed three laws of spoop AI

1. the spoop shall avoid the players gaze
2. the spoop shall not follow the player too closely
3. the spoop shall be attracted to fear, such as being alone in the dark for a long time, being far from other players (if multiplayer) etc.

Who the fuck actually does shit like this and thinks it's a good idea? Holy fuck.

>not just stealing your assets from other games because you don't plan on ever selling what you work on.
China does it all the time anyways.

Gamemaker

look at the end of the webm where he's flying towards the planet. Without the dust you'd have no sense of speed

dust is just placeholder, probably gonna replace with a hud indicator of some sort, eventually

until then it's a quick and dirty way to get some sort of sense of motion on the screen

>programmer
>gamemaker

cool, well I'm not really interested but good luck with your game

>look up gamemaker
>it's actually pretty good
>decide to make vidya the next day
>next day
>learn a lot of stuff, everything looks amazing even though i have 0 talent to make sprites, but hey i can learn that can't i
>day passes
>start becoming aware that no matter what i do i can only make shitty 2.5d indie cancer no matter what
>look up programming from scratch
>nope

HeartBeast was so inspirational ;_;

What the fuck is this?

You don't need to complete a game to get feedback on it

>C++ fags get triggered by this
Yes, we all enjoy making calls to functions that makes calls to other functions while making some calls to some more functions before finally using system calls to do something as simple as printing text to a console.

...

Hey Cred Forumssauce, real question here!

I'm genuinely wanting to make a porn game

Do you have any ideas for porn games that would also make decent GAMES?

Name a good 3d indie game.

Living with autism must be hard. I feel bad for you.

Yeah, it's space, there isn't much indication for anything.

That sounds much better.

Literally where is your game?

I'm making some garbage on RPGMaker right now too, I'm just scribbling shit on photoshop for sprites and outright stealing shit from other places for it

It sucks being autistic and having no talent but what can ya do

here's a hud mockup inspired by the frontier target tunnel, probably a bit overdone so I'm thinking of ways to make it less intrusive

The Iconoclasts is being made in MMF2 (or maybe just Fusion), not Construct

Cosmochoria is alright. store.steampowered.com/app/293240/

>implying you can out-autism gcc -O3

>implying I'll give my great lewd game ideas to a fellow animal fucker

I've seen that full image. You can't fool me, boyo.

why the fuck do you care what he programs with if you're an artist

You need to fucking leave. NOW.

you have a point

2D or 3D? Can you post a sample?

>no matter what i do i can only make shitty 2.5d indie cancer no matter what

With that self-defeating attitude you'll get nowhere. Start making games.

Also some of the most shitposted games on Cred Forums are 2D, so you can have that to your name at the very least.

If you use GameMaker, MonoGame, UE4, Construct2, LÖVE, or Source, you're a nodev.

Pic related. It's you, you fucking alcoholic.

hmph

all I got so far is some sort of bdsm glory hole game where the idea is to keep money coming in but workers getting enough money for the shit you make them do or they quit

like keep the place up and running kind of thing

because you're too expensive for no good reason.

If you post in these threads you're a nodev.
FTFY

Maybe you should consider a career in Game Ideas

Minecraft.

sounds like a tycoon game with an overly simplistic business

I had a similar idea long ago but ran into issues of making it actually interesting to play so i wouldnt recommend trying it yourself either

maybe consider a game about living with some fetish or another? pet simulator where you have to also bang your pet without getting caught by others as a zoophile for your pupper's awful mount-happy training

I like it. Something similar to that seems great.

Is that what you want to do? Is that what would make you happy? Would you be willing to be starving, poor, give up everything to pursue your bliss?

If yes, then that's all that matters. Odds are you won't make any money, but if money isn't the end-all be-all, then go for it.

Start with a decent game, then add porn.

Consider what your main mechanic or aesthetic is, then tie the porn into that. For example, if your game idea is "I want to make No Man's Sky but good", you would likely tie porn to the exploration aesthetic and the cataloging mechanic.

Use porn as an incentive for success and proper game flow. Having to lose to see porn only works for a few game types.

Can you stop? Can you be stopped? Do we have to stop you? I have a big family with a lot of high powered rifles. Don't fuck with me, boy...

This. New 'n Tasty had such a weird weight to it and killed the feeling that the original had, but there's bigger issues than the engine with that game.

Only thing I've played in Unity that feels good is the Yooka-Laylee toy box.

...

Fine, but that one was made in fucking JAVA, I'm prety sure GMS could handle that just fine, my point is that for the kind of games an idie dev is likely to produce GMS is more than enough.

make a game were you fuck a dude until he becomes a chick

Well it's looking good user. Keep up the good work and stay motivated!

is New 'n' Tasty even worth playing? I got it a few months ago and played five minutes and it was just boring 1D platforming at 35 fps.

>can make quick prototypes with drag and drop
>can make proper games using code
>MUH GAME AND DROP IT'S TOO EASY

I want to make something kinky but not degenerate tier, something with patreon potential

Breeding Season had a successful kickstarter AND patreon until internal strife ruined it, and it was a very similar concept except even simpler gameplay

I would love to explain my project, butI think its so good that if I tell anyone about it, they'll steal my idea and make a game just like it faster than I'll be able to finish it

>my precious ideas
HAHAHAHAHAHHA

so far I was more thinking about getting rewarded for doing porn tasks and with the rewards you get to do more kinky porn tasks, maybe some sort of challenges too

>getting overwhelmed by my main project
>want to make something minor and quick on the side, like gamejam tier
>no small-scale ideas
Thinking big is the worst, it's too much work

This. Source shitters have to go.

>wanted to make games in Source because it's easy
>but then all this negativity at

wow ok guess i shouldnt bother then. apparently no one is ever gonna play something made on source in favor of just sending death threats and hate mail

yeah but I don't think that had any animal fucking

though it's exactly the kind of tier of kinky I'm thinking of

could I have a link to that please? also, if you ever create a tumblr or something, post if with your update

user, no offense but i think they need some polish

>I don't think that had any animal fucking
I thought it did. At the very least, it had animals fucking.

I need ideas for first person metroid-like powerups/weapons/abilities!

Im talking any genre, and theme, any whatever. It just needs that "new ability lets you access new areas previously unreachable" feeling

Also, consider doing dithering on big sprites, on small sprites such as this one dithering makes it look more noisier than smoother

fucking GROSS dude

Good stuff.

oh okay

anyway, there's clearly money making potential in kinky porn games that aren't absolutely shit tier

and I'm actually good at traditional, digital and 3D art, animation I haven't tried so it will obviously be a challenge, I know enough blueprints to make stuff work

it seems like it would be fun to make too

name one (1) reason why I shouldn't try this shit

Pretty good user.

Is your game going to be like a dungeon crawling D&D game?

...

Sorry, I'm not interested, but good luck with your game

>source

>name one (1) reason why I shouldn't try this shit
genuine reason? these things succeed by word of mouth. rather than pouring all your energy into a full game from the start, start doing renders and 2d smuts for InkBunny or whatever first and wait until you're bigger to start a game. Or work on the game slowly while you build hype around yourself as an artist/producer and THEN go to kikestarter/patreon once you have even a minor following.

You're a white mage who needs to learn the other schools of magic to complete their quest.

Huh?

No, I'm asking if that's what your game is going to be. I'm not really making a game, or at least, I'm not one that's vidya related.

I'm making a horror game similar to Yume Nikki and OFF, and I'm using first gen Pokémon tiles as inspiration. Actually, it is more like a reinterpretation of it, will I face legal problems with Game Freak or someone because of this? Pic related, left is Pokémon, right is mine.

That's a terrible way to plan it. Your reward for viewing porn is more porn to view.

Saying 'kinky porn tasks' or 'challenges' is not a game mechanic. You need to come up with an actual task for the player to do or else there won't be any game.

Your mechanics could be something as simple as 'walk around and talk to people' or 'solve environmental puzzles'. Whatever they are, you need gameplay in your game.

Please fuck 125% of the way off.

Ok well I'm not interested in working with anyone right now, thanks though, good luck

No one on Cred Forums is qualified to answer your question in detail.

>Your mechanics could be something as simple as 'walk around and talk to people' or 'solve environmental puzzles'.
This 2bh. Look at the old Frank's Adventure games -- the rewards in porn were paltry, but the games themselves were pretty cute/fun adventure games that could easily entertain the kinds of young'uns who are accessing that sort of content.

And where should I ask?

It is extremely unlikely. They are in their rights to claim ownership, but it's unlikely they will give a shit.

A law office.

Actually, try local community centres. They often have pro bono lawyers that are there to give legal advice to people like you who just have single small questions before proceeding with something rather than needing a lawyer for an extended case.

I'm not asking for a collab dude.

Let me rephrase myself, what is your game going to be about?

I like the monochromatic art and the UI reminds me of one of those first-person RPGs like Ultima or SMT.

Does your game follow a similar game design or is it going to be something else?

rack does exactly that fine though

you see I'm not wanting to make a game that's also porn, I want the game to be centered around porn, my problem is how do I make it something that's worth more than a single play

...

>c++ is bloated
>haskell is great
you don't have enough intelligence to proceed

You could honestly try the
subreddit for Law School/law
they do have real lawyers post there sometimes

never post here again you fucking retard

Thank you all, really. I'm making the tiles from scratch, even if I'm looking at Pokémon ones as reference, and my intention is going commercial with the game. I hope GF/Nintendo doesn't rape me eventually.

Shop system is fully complete

I really haven't done much lately

Thank you user thats an idea i can work with

But i want more!

reddit culture is garbage but it really is a fantastic link aggregator and a good knowledge base for simple questions that can't simply be googled due to obscurity

Where are you from? Copyright differs from country to country, but generally this kinda thing falls under a huge bracket of 'it depends', so you'd be better just avoiding it - whether or not it's legal doesn't matter if you can't afford to spend a bunch defending that.
Either way, but if you're gonna put a bunch of work into sprites you should at least do it in a way that doesn't seem like a reskin.

Seriously, I'm not looking for any collaborations right now. People like you are the reason it's hard for decent devs to find each other rather than trudge through the trash (like you).

Here's a tip for your future interactions with potential partnerships: Learn to take a no and don't push them.

Good day and good luck with your game.

You have multiple PCs you switch between Lost Vikings style.

A Lost Vikings style Metroidvania is all I ever wanted.

Why the fuck is this still here?

From Spain.

That is literally the only thing I use Reddit for.

I'm not even making a game.

I have no interest in a collaboration.

I was legitimately only interested in learning more about your game because I liked your art.

Fuck man, even if I was looking for a collab I wouldn't be looking around on fucking Cred Forums of all places.

Same. I've found it to be useful for looking up military stuff that can't be easily found in CANFORGENs and for looking up renter's rights stuff in my city to see what I can or can't badger my landlord about.

It really excels for stuff like that that's hard to google because you get similar but not at all relevant results.

slow

>want people to play through more than once
>don't want to come up with game mechanics

Your 'game' will just be a series of awkwardly mixed scenes.

Either come up with what you want the player to do and then make porn to fit that (mechanics -> aesthetics) or come up with the porn you want and find the gameplay that lets you utilize it (aesthetics -> mechanics).

You're coming at this from an artist's perspective when you need to see the whole picture. How does your game flow? How do rewards guide your players? What should a player feel at any given time?

Krinkels or Swain?

What's the best way to start?

this is a shitty game but it's an example of what I'm looking to do

don't be so naive, I already mentioned having challenges and progression

EU law tends to protect copyright much more than other places, so would recommend you change some things around - even if it's just the number of windows or the position of the door or the shape of the roof or whatever.
That is if you plan to sell it, otherwise it'd probably fall under caricature, parody or pastiche and you'd be grand.

Madness day is tomorrow (if I'm not mistaken). Got anything special for us?

this game has been my whole life, only recently got myself back into animations so I'll just be there shilling my game like some old, out-of-touch windbag

>nodev thinks he's better than Cred Forums
If you're such a great dev then why are you LITERALLY begging to collab on a game with some random user just based on a screenshot?

Maybe you forgot what you literally typed out earlier, since you're suddenly denying asking for a collab when it's 5-8 posts above yours.

IKR the backpedaling is real with this guy lol.

>All these fucking (you)'s
Context?

What do you use to record your videos? I tried camstudio but it's absolute shit or I'm probably retarded and don't know how to use it

It's coming along slowly since I work job and I'm tired afterwards.

Of course I'm making a platformer game made with sprites, but I've had this idea forever and I'm gonna make it goddammit.

As for animation, what's good? I've heard aseprite is good for $10. GIMP isn't really working for me anymore.

also I midna pic

I'm looknig to do something with rack like progression + tycoon style money handling

Gotta start doing some enemies to kill soon

I never asked you for a collab.

I said that your game looked pretty good and then I asked if it was based off of D&D dungeon crawlers.

If you can point out where I asked you for a collab then please show me where because I'm not seeing it.

graphics gale is pretty good for pixel art.

Bottom one looks great and does look "inspired", while the top one may benefit from a deeper art style but is a straight up rip off simply because of the windows. Which actually makes it look terrible, they may have their place on the og pokemon sprites, but it looks retarded on yours. You can do better user, keep the inspiration but distance yourself from the source material a bit more.

Interesting!
Lots of possibilities there, and a unique mechanic if i want it to be first person.
Maybe you can pause the game to aim each view separately? (Just a spitball idea)

Graphicsgale is pretty good for sprite-work from what I've heard. I don't know if something's come out since then that's specifically tailored for sprites but you should try it out.

YOU CAN'T FUCKING STEAL SOMEONE ELSE'S GRAPHICS YOU DUMB CUNT

At least some cool looking drawing maybe? I like your art.

it looks like you just put a filter on it senpai

Thanks, this looks pretty good for now.

Alright I'm gonna level with you, I'm guessing the original guy who replied to you about the collab replied to the wrong post. I just hopped on to mess with you.

Thanks for playing!

Good luck with your game.

can someone make a shrimp pixel art as realistic as possible, i mean the only stuff i found so far was too cartoony

i need it for reference

artist here, still looking for a programmer, just tell me a little about your game

MINIMAP!

had to make a whole system to track where the player is in "cells" and then translate it into the position of a marker over a camera.

Sadly the map isn't actually generated from the actual rooms layout but is instead a tilemap I manually edit when I make new rooms

Part of me figured that.

Shame that the dude never responded though, I really was interested in his art style.

Ah well, have a nice day user.

No really, what are you on about? Where did anyone ever asked you to make a collab?
user here only wanted to know what kind of game you were making.

IIRC the Vikings just stayed there and did nothing while you were playing the others, but fat shield olaf could be used as a platform?
I have a similar concept in my pile of game projects I will never make, the characters you aren't playing turn to stone while waiting so you can keep them on switches to hold gates open or whatnot.

The issue here is that most metroidvanias have this huge map you can backtrack around while lost vikings keep all three characters together in a small-ish level. Backtracking can already be tedious in regular metroidvanias, imagine having to do it for each character if you don't want one to be stranded in Africa. It would have to be really well executed not to be a vast annoyance.

There we go. Now you're actually talking about proper game dev stuff.

I'm not touching that game too much because it's furry, but it looks like the mechanics are interaction with a 'client' who reacts and unlocking new clients. Mixing this with a tycoon game means that players can't be expected to interact directly with every client and will usually be taking an observer/manager role.

My suggestions would be to look into structure building/management games like roller coaster tycoon and prison architect. Make players have to balance short and long term decisions on which creepy fetish devices to buy and where to place them. Different devices could be popular with different types of customers, so players would need to decide which demographics they want to appeal to.

you trickface!

You could simply have all the other "vikings" leave the area with you whenever you change zones. Either that or have an early-game item that allows you to carry the other ones around easily.

...

Pls name/blog

/agdg/ meme where someone posts a Source screenshot and people pretend to be disgusted(because it does look very ugly, afterall). Usually it's just one guy samefagging until people see it has a lot of replies and join in.

Yeah or something similar to Kirby's Superstar where you can recall a helper near you or whatever.
It could be a fun game even if I really sucked at Lost Vikings, I don't think I beat more than 2 or 3 stages

Trial and error.

Thanks for the tip

I'll star figuring out how exactly everything will play out and progress

I'm just surprised there's nothing like this that exists. It seems that with multiple player characters there's a ton of options. You could have upgrades for every character individually, or maybe have the characters themselves be individual. Maybe instead of viking brothers it's a summon that you can only have 1 or 2 out of at a time, and you unlock more as you go on? I think it has potential.

remember

don't respond to OPs with that image

>Release one decent but mediocre map ever

map name?

Having multiple characters sounds unecessary, why the player should be required to switch characters instead of just having a single character with several abilities? It doesn't sound that interesting beyond fluff reasons and its kind wasteful design.

Has slowed down to a groaning pace the last couple of days, as I've been working on commissions for other games (for cash) and dealing with family-stuff.

a dude at agdg fell for the ebic forced cat meme, added it into the game and now somebody's pretending to be him here

Because the Lost Vikings gameplay means having puzzles revolving around each character's different abilities. They have limitations, the most obvious one in LV being the fact only one of them could jump. To access items or whatever you would need to solve those positioning/coordination puzzles.

It's not about having multiple characters bundled together and yo ucna only be one at a time, (like Ufouria/Hebereke) but rather about having several characters at the same time at different places around the stage.

>trying to make a small prototype replicating Thief mechanics
>can't for the life of me figure out how they did that climbing system.

If I made a SmashTV inspired game. Would anyone want to play it?

no.

Is it possible to make something like doom,Duke3d and dark forces on game maker?

Vagina boobs face.

Green

Uterus face

Bottom right, blue guy.

It's a tie between moustache eyes and uterus face.

heres the sprites for nekkid mode
its a yume nikki clone.

The challenge of figuring out that you have to use the jumping man to reach a platform or put the shield guy in front of the enemy's projectiles isn't particulary interesting, most of the time it just feels like you have to go through each area 3 times, i.e you use the fighter to kill an enemy than you switch to the guy that can jump to reach some switch and open the path and only then move all characters foward, why not just have a single character that can jump and fight? Distributing the abilities like this doesn't increase the game's challenge in any meaningful way, its just annoying.

Anyone making a game witg underwater sections?

Its a shame because the layout was pretty good. We even did a 3 vs 3 and beside the problems it was fun.

pic related is art test for my second attempt, this time start with a theme and a layout second

Anybody?

GameMaker can do 3D, good luck figuring that shit out though.

it's definitely possible, though you'll have to be dealing with the fact that gm:studio is even more unsuitable for 3d than it is for 2d, not an issue if you'll be dealing with everything on one plane ala doom but still
there's also a bunch of unpleasant quirks regarding interpolation and some other stuff
overall i'd recommend using unity or something

*gm:studio's room editor

Been doing dumb shit like this just to pinpoint possible movement limitations and errors like the clipping of the fingers (already revamped the thumbs), and looking for ways to make this little faggot more expressive (currently implementing "iris mechanism" blinking)

looks nice. good idea with the eye thing, you should check out the portal 2 commentary where they talk about how they animated the personality cores to do the same thing

Indeed. Why aren't you designing your dream game and selling it at a moderate price or even free like dwarf fortress. Game development should be a passion I think it's the main thing AAA lack is passion. It's a business I know but it used to be a business built on people's passion projects nows it's just another to please the shareholders scheme. No itegrity.

Loving that dot.

I'm also doing a shooter on Unity + vr.

I need a movement delay on the gun so it doesn't look like sticked to the camera.

thats some ulillillia tier sidescroller perspective user

I did a bunch of them for the mall map, but i have them on another laptop unfortunately.

I found out that theme first usualy works better. Having the theme locked when you start blocking out your map will help you a lot down the road.

And yes, I also love the feel of source maps

They do, but at the moment they're the best I can do and I'd rather do the sprites myself than pay someone else to do them.

Thanks user! I added a couple more today.

I like that muzzle flash

>want to make a game
>choose unity why not
>you have to pay for it

Well fug me.
Mind as well I should just learn C#

I made a dungeon wall today

Why is Big Boss on that wall?

Going very slowly, but very surely. I've got the most very basic enemy sorted (a spotter, really just stands in a spot and calls in threats) and just started on friendly troop movement. It sounds like half an hours work and I'm sure it is to someone more experienced, but I'm just starting out so progress it slow.

My only concern at the moment is whether my game takes itself too seriously. Do you reckon there's anymore room in the world for a plot revolving around the personal experiences of war, and how sometimes its a necessary action/aspect of human nature but too often are the soldiers treated as an entity of stats and numbers, rather than an amalgamation of lives, backgrounds, hope and dreams? I feel as if its a very over-played plot, a little bit edgy and a little bit #2deep4u

Don't get me wrong, I'm more about the mechanics of my game but the plot needs to be passable

ue4 user... use ue4...
ue4 was right in front of you this whole time...

I still haven't figured out how to get GLEW working in Code Blocks.

user, those look rad
I hope you make something good with them

>you have to pay for it
you.. don't though

I see it, heh.
Is... is it free?

You don't have to pay for Unity unless you earn more than a certain amount of money in a single quarter.

Looking neat. can you aim the gun?

its free until you start making $12,000/year from your game which will never happen anyway

Wait, what?
But aren't you restricted to certain uses?

No, I'm not sure of what features I should add, I'm making a western shooting gallery with bb guns, but you aim with the head, it's fun ha.

stealing wall textures, 1-button making normal maps in photoshop and then slapping it all together is not "making" anything, it's just easy theft.

cant see it
2meta4me

not paying and getting the free version basically just means you're required to have a unity splash screen at the start of your game
unity 4 free used to have much less features but now in 5 that's pretty much the only thing

Why do all unity games have "that" look? Why do all of them play like shit?

its a blender sculpt, baked and reworked in substance painter tho

Shit wrong image

I'm planning on it! It's gonna be an SMT clone mixed with some detective sleuthing.

lots of bad devs

Does Unity or GM have better multiplayer support?

The same reasons why most Unreal games look and play the same.
Few devs make their own shaders, few tweak the controls beyond the basics and just use existing modules.

You can change the splash screen and your editor color (whoop-dee-fucking-doo) in the second tier. Highest tier lets you put ads in your games.

I'm sure there's a way to program that last one yourself, anyway.

Unity3D games have that look if they rely too heavily on the built in lighting and shaders.

"2D" Unity games only have that look if they leave the default skybox.

All of my motivation is gone because I can't into art. I really try, but I'm bad at it.

as said, lots of lazy developers who rely on the default stuff.
unity is more bare-bones than unreal though, so the "default" stuff that trashy devs rely on looks a bit plainer.
in the end the shaders of most modern engines are almost identical and general graphical capabilities are very similar. and i don't know any modern engine that would make your game actually play badly.
it's basically entirely up to developers to make their stuff good, and, simply, a lot don't.

I'm thinking of changing my game up so that instead of one huge area, there are multiple smaller, randomly generated rooms per level, sort of like Binding of Isaac.
I'm not sure what to do about the weapons. Right now you can buy them and keep them forever, but some of them are pretty powerful, and with enough upgrades, you become unstoppable. I think I might lower their prices, but make it so that you only get a certain amount of ammo when you buy them.

Make a minimalist game, like mine.

let's see your art
maybe i can point you in the right direction

well then thumbs up

Don't care about the art, man. Make the game, or at least a prototype, with nothing but simplistic placeholder graphics and then attract someone with artistic skills to your project.

Sounds good as long as you don't go too "hurr durr war is bad"

I have no experience with 3D modeling, what does baked mean in this context?

but war is bad.

What type of game is it?

Working on enemy AI, how do I learn more about modern military tactics without showing up on a government watch-list?

Here's some pixelshit I was doing recently.

...

They're icons for the menu. They're in a new style. I have a witch in the old style as well.

Well, I don't know what kind of game you're trying to make, but this seems adequate. It's not pretty, I'm not gonna lie, but it's not off-puttingly disgusting either.

google it

no one fucking cares

most of those are just editted pokemon sprites

Needs something to differentiate the stem and the cap.
Same thing here, needs something to show where the leaf begins and the stem ends I feel.

And this is the witch.

Think XCOM, but with a more primitive display, with a massive emphasis on what you hear through the radio and what your troops tell you. Also, not against aliens. Kinda like a parallel universe where live video feed was never invented, so you order your troops around the map which is built up into a holographic display on a table and hear live audio through their radios. I got the idea from Aliens where they're listening to the marines die through the radio and also (Narco's Season 2 spoilers) Sgt Carillo's death scene where you hear the screaming of them dying through the radio, and they can't do anything

That looks like shit buddy. Instead of white, use a lighter value of the same color to highlight. Use white very sparingly or everything will look smooth and shiny and bad.

I didn't shade it as much as I should have because I was writing a 2D shader in unity to do it for me, and was planning on cutting up, then raising/lowering the pieces before shading them because I thought it'd be easier.

Would you raise this craw-daddy Cred Forums?

I really hate the colors in it, but I was working with a restricted color palette to try and keep the game looking consistent.

Would you play a trading card rpgmaker game where you build decks and manage a team with very mild dating mechanics?

I'll probably just drop it on the steam workshop once it's advanced enough

CUTE!

>x all the things meme

>>>/9gag9

That witch is fucking cute.

Is there a reason why so many developers go for pixel graphics instead of hand-drawn sprites aside from trying to be retro?

Are they easier to animate for some reason or something like that?

its cancer
but is a usefull cancer

I don't really get it, is the view isometric or from the perspective of a single soldier?

pixel art is easier to come up with than hand drawn.

That and all you really need to pull it off is MSpaint.

yes
it's the easy way out
that's all

Obligatory watching for any aspiring game devs:

youtube.com/watch?v=8-5kvqZBRVg

It's easier to make pixel art that isn't offensively bad.

baking in general is basically transferring information from a model into a texture.
this can be anything from ambient occlusion and lighting, to thickness maps and normal maps and all that stuff.
baking a normal map means a (typically) very high poly source mesh was used to generate a normal map for a lower poly model. basically the surface information of the more complex mesh is transferred to a texture, relative to the surface information of the other mesh. in my pic here you've got a normal map which makes a lower poly mesh appear higher poly.
in the case of this dungeon dude, since it's a wall, he sculpted the bricks and then baked it on to a single polygon, to create a seamless texture he can apply anywhere.

fucking sick dude, my game just went triple platinum greenlighted and gabe newell himself let me into the fluid chamber to swim around in for 20 mins a day

its easier to draw, easier to animate, easier to come by tools for (seriously game makers built in art and animation tool is good enough for 90% of it) its cheap resource wise (if you make a poorly optimized pixel game that runs like shit thats honestly almost impressive) and anyone can do it.

RTP graphics are going to turn a lot of people off, even if your gameplay is good. Looks fun, though. I'd at least get a script to make the menu and windows look different or something.

If you're thinking of seliing your game then learn to market
youtube.com/watch?v=Sd2IHO2xBrY

sounds like my mind on gamedeving.

So the camara handles exactly like XCOM would, except the game isn't turn based. The game world is displayed in very basic forms as a hologram, and on that hologram you can send orders to your troops. You have a squad of troops out on the field, and their current status is represented in a separate window where you're given their injury status and heart rate and stuff picked up by body scanners in their armour.
You can build up a "queue" of orders, so for example say you had 3 troops surrounding a simple building that you know enemies are inside. You could place one at either door and one next to window. You build up your "queue", so the window trooper throws in a flashbang, and once the flashbang has detonated, the door troopers storm in and clear the enemy. Once they've finished that task, they all run into the building and guard the doors. That's just an example scenario.
You use your troops and such to complete missions. Whilst you can't "see" the map, your troops are very vocal through the radio at what they're looking at, and you'll hear them breathing, them shooting, them talking and of course, them dying once you've let them down.

Inital barrier to entry is far, far lower than trying to make anything in 3D. It's far harder to make good pixel art than good 3D art though, which is something that a lot of people don't think about.

Ye graphics are obviously my very last priority, I'll only bother with getting custom assets once all gameplay/content is done

It's really a small sideproject I work on for fun, I got rpgmaker for cheap, found that simple card game script and tried to build something cute around it

The blue guy looks the most chill to play as.

All those responses are correct but keep in mind genuinely good pixel art is far far harder than anything 3d.

I'm really diggin the swivel with this robot's movement. Good job user.

Is gamemaker broken? I uninstalled it and reinstalled it multiple times, and it just won't run.

It'll start, check for an update, auto-close, then nothing. Should I just move on to Construct 2 to use?

It's time to upgrade from 32bit WindowsXP.

good plant, i'll take it

I've finally developed a budget for it and a year-long plan for the development of it.

I'm very optimistic about this but i'm terrified of getting people on board because people are fickle and always walks out, as I've seen in my college classes.

Best of luck to you

Thanks user, I'll be sure to post updates on it and what not. If I can create at least one game in my life that people like to play and have fun with, I'll be happy.

I'm trying to figure out how to record some videos to show what gameplay I have. I don't really know what I'm doing wrong but the FPS of the videos are god-awful

dither the rasters or do that relativity to color thing which i forgot what it was called... that thing where it gradually smooths out the shapes just make sure that is checked and you should be good to rotoscope your characters but you need to make sure it works out in the end process and check its quality.

damn

No, they're not. I made 'em all from scratch. If you look closely, Pokemon has much more detailed linework.

It's just the styles that are similar.

Hell yes!

I finally got a small demo going, still a work in progress. It's short and I'm looking for feedback.

Damn, and here I thought I could get away with renaming it from virus.exe

Remaking Castlevania with SFML and C++ for practice. Going alright I guess.

For future reference, what's a good way to get started on isometric games? My brain isn't really wrapping around displaying the tiles. Seems like to make things line up your graphic would be like, 4 times the size of a tile, and you'd alternate based on row? I just don't really know how to easily abstract it but I know I'm missing something obvious.

I made a angel sprite thing. This was actually my first sprite animation

Well, it's got the horrifying abomination thing down pat. You're also missing the outline for the lower body in one of the later frames.

Hang yourself

Sounds pretty interesting, keep us updated

Keep it up, dude!

It's shit but you can only get better. Keep on pixeling user.

Thoughts on Defold?

gifcam, user.

That's pretty much what I was going for.

>ignore the ugly drawing
>ignore the ugly animation
u still forgot to outline the upper body on 13th frame and outline the whole body on 16th frame.

Please tell me you are baiting.

It became more than just a dream

...

Made this today.
Post them high scores, faggots.

Not baiting but thanks for the valid critism. I fixed the outline. Drawing will improve overtime. Have a wonderful day, user!

anyone know where to hire online music maker, art maker people ? i am a loner game developer

try reddit

Thanks

I like the sprite for the sperm

I apologize but loli protag has not been scanned yet

Creating a monster-battling game where your buddies grow in physical size and re-form as they level-- as opposed to pokemon where you reach a level and it changes into a new monster all at once. You also have to feed them as you level, the system is supposed to mimic raising a Tamagotchi, but with only positive reinforcement, no death for not feeding them etc.

Here's an example of one of the monsters and how they grow while leveling.

This just looks like 4 evolutions instead of 3 to me, user.

How do make good quality webms?

Can you really not imagine the creature growing and deforming level by level? Or are you expecting an illustration for the slight growth for each of the 50 levels...

>no 20-30

What's the problem with GM?

In that case, sounds like an unrealistic number of art assets.

I made a few advergames and educational games with C2.

You forgot Risk of Rain for GM.

Thanks, friend.

PLEASE

WHAT ARE those spiders?

These look better than gen 7 Pokemon

The only map I ever released was ttt_bluesky. It saw play on a few servers here and there, I dunno if it's still around. AFAIK the V3 I put out crashes, and I think it has to do with me capitalising the filename as ttt_BlueSky_V3
or something. Never got around to fixing it.

That looks pretty good man, I tried my hand a mall way back as one of my many Zombie Master WIPs.

I think I'm just way too fucking ambitious personally.

Pic related actually got pretty close.

Going decent so far.

11/10!

How so?

You essentially create an adult form, then create a blend-shape and an animation pose for the younger form, with altered proportions etc.

You then tween between these as you grow, with some more complex buddies changing their idle animation entirely, like when the monkey changes to sit on the tank.

You're only creating one model/rig for the tank and monkey and you dynamically scaled it as it levels.

Working on the basic layout of the clock tower level.

Game Maker is decent though.

Frankly, I lack the drive to even start doing anything beyond starting up unity, game maker or clickteam fusion and straight up closing it right after and going to do something else.

What do?

Scott Cawthon leave.

...

B-but guys, I have the secret story of Flanaf and I definitely didn't just hobble up a bunch of secrets and try to make it a story.

What engine?

Unity 5

Looks pretty awesome.
Do you perhaps have the unfinished version I could download?

Devving on Gamebryo, in crunch still. Working on a new title, licensed by Ninvento. I'm doing pretty well. Onion rings & Smoothies/Milkshakes are my fucking savior at dark times like these.

Thanks bro

That engine hard to use or work with?

not at all
