They were either good at hiding their retarded opinions when the company was first started, they had no real traceable history of retarded opinions when they were hired, or didn't develop their retarded opinions until well after they were integrated into the company's operations. With some people, though, it's straight up favoritism or nepotism that lands them a job. They're usually subordinates, though, and are quick to be identified as a liability unless they're in a critical position.
But with games I feel like it's almost expected to have someone like fucking Pitchford or Moorhead in a leadership position, even though they've taken abjectly anti-consumer positions that would lose the company money just out spite and principle alone. It's passing the buck for business failures onto the consumer base, rather than noticing it stems from their destructive opinions.
