Does Cred Forums like it?

Is anyone even still playing it? I played it for literally a week when it was released then dropped it.

Same here, it was mildly entertaining then I stopped, I wondered if it ended up getting any better but I can't be bothered to install it again if it's still shit.

I wanted it to be good but these 2 problems keep it from being any fun:

1. Running around and shooting everything is the most effect way to play (in a stealth based game)
2. Even if you play stealth, there's no reason because you can still clearly see everyone and everything if it's optic camo'd because the effect isn't 100% (or even something like 75%) invisibility.

So basically, the only way to play is to run around and shoot everything. You're punished for not playing this way because there is no better way to play. It is extremely easy to recognize when someone is camo'd, even from pretty far distances. Especially so if they use NVG or thermal.

Plus, all the regular weapons are much better than the stun or tranq weapons. I know that makes sense, but in a gameplay context it sucks pure ass to miss a headshot and not tranq the person, because they can just shoot you in the body with the weakest gun in the entire game and still defeat you better, and faster. Hell, even if you play stealth, it's still best to run and gun as fast as possible to try and tranq people or use something like the stun shotgun. There is not a single reason to ever go slowly.

If the game was all stealth, little to no run-and-gun, and had better ways to deal with shooters/RNGers as a stealth/stun/tranq character, it would be much better.

That sucks, I was hoping it would've turned out better.

I will add this however:

I did have a lot of fun going full stealth and taking out the RNGers. Going camo, moving slowly between covers (like behind walls or inside bushes, etc), setting up ambushed to grab people with CQC or to snipe them long range with the tranqs. That was A LOT of fun, but no matter how good I was (or how good others were if they played stealth with me), we would always inevitably get shrek'd by faggots running around with heavy/medium arms, because they just fuck you up so fast and there is barely a way to escape.

I think cloak and dagger was the best game mode, still probably is, but because the camo effect sucks shit and you can spot people from long distance (without even needing to zoom in) you can just outright own anyone in camo before they have any chance to do something about it.

The amount of games of C&D I played where when the round started I literally was able to kill 2-3 people on the enemy team just by pot shotting/sniping the camo'd person in the head was bullshit, and caused mass frustration. And not only did I do it to players, it happened to me many times as well.

All in all, stealth just needs to be more "over powered" for it to be good. They tried to make it balanced, but it didn't work at all and there's no reason to play because you'll just be fucked.

>binary optiion

Not a very realistic model of price movements t.b.h lad

I wish guns in MGO actually had recoil like they do in single player. Instead they have like three different ways to reduce it so you can full auto at someone 50m away and still have every single one of your shots hit. Every game is just people spamming full auto at each other.
The worst part is they realised it was stupid so they nerfed bodyshot damage, but that made CQC rushes up close impossible to stop so they introduced that stupid flinching when you hit someone while sprinting, and then that caused desyncs every time. I quit because I couldn't stand people teleporting everywhere when I was trying to shoot them.

Also I don't see why character customisation is so limited when there are like a million outfits in single player. Why didn't they just put them in MGO too? The game may be shit, but they could at least let me make a cool looking guy.

>multiplayer stealth game
>slowly climb pipe as character yells "HUP, HUP, HURHGH"

I felt like it had something missing but when I reflect on MGO2 on PS3 it wasn't revolutionary. I miss the controls of MGS 4 it felt more traditional and MGSV was westaboo as fuck. I was really sad when I played MGO 3 and it didn't make me happy like MGO2 did. Anyone remember knife only servers? I am sad when I think about how fun it was. I used to troll people saying you can't kill me because I work for Konami and they actually fell for it.

which one of us is Cred Forums?

You're Cred Forums now....no the two of us together...

Really needed some coop, or if it played like RDR multiplayer where there is an open world element too, and other people running around, and you can approach a zone to start a world mission.

Well you might like
MGS survive. MIGHT is the key word here.

Stealth Camo and Infiltrators were hilariously overpowered on launch and this caused a sort of chain reaction of really shit balance patches and the game just never recovered.

Inhouses are fun if you can get a good group going of 10 or so people but outside of that it's pretty boring at this point.

I am actually interested in it because I like the engine and gameplay of V, but I will certainly not be buying it day 1, Ive played enough zombie themed games to know at this point that I have already played the game and know exactly how its going to work. What I really wanted was normal setting coop, or even just survival mode against mooks with guns, escalating to tanks, helicopters and eventually a metal gear.

Buying Survive seems kinda risky. I mean, MGO came free with Phantom Pain and it still died super fast. Survive doesn't come free, so it's going to have a much smaller player base, so it could die even faster. Not much point playing a coop game if nobody else does.

Fair enough man. I just hope it doesn't disappoint you if you do get it. I always feel dumb when I buy a game and I don't like it that much.

Good point. Although I was never going to buy it I just thought the other user might be interested.

its better than what i expected. but as this user said, stealth is too underpowered. they should've made invisibility cover body at 100% and for fultons to not fail, because those are HUGE restrictions if u wanna play specialist

Did you get to play peace Walker remake before it died? Co op vs gooks/helos/tanks/even gears. The enginr wasn't even too bad considering it started a Vita.

You are gonna get banned if the mods are awake. This is blue board.

I didnt get to play it before it died, no. I really want some coop with this gameplay but it looks like Konami is finished with V. So I guess its never going to happen.

Only if some faggot reports him.

dropped it after a week don't really care about it anymore.

Sauce?

People who liked mgo 3 need to die

rip mgo 2

Idk man, I can still smell the remakes of remakes for konami's final cash grab

>mgo2 will never come back
It still hurts. It was one of the best things about owning a PS3.

Dont

...

...

I used to just dedicate host servers without playing, cause I had to do something else and dudes were playing in the background felt nice.
Dedicated host font was green and everybody freaked out every time I wrote something.
Good times.

You are a good person. Respect.

It's not MGO2
So no

I miss MGO 2 I am aware you can still play it in some way. But I am too much of an idiot to figure it out. Feels bad man.

It's a bit of fucking around inside your PS3 and something to do with your net settings.

I can't imagine there's a lot of people still playing who have done that. Just cherish the memories and hold onto the hope that one day, something just as good, if not better will come.

>Does Cred Forums like the most buggy multiplayer game?
They fixed divespam, flinch i-frames, flinch teleporting, e-locators, the serval, and sorta improved the netcode barely you're still gonna get shot behind walls and grabbed by the force.
But it's still one of the most imbalanced multiplayer games even after their attempts to fix it due to clientside hit registration giving anyone with a hitscan weapon the advantage.
I don't see how anyone can see Survive being good when this only barely works after a year.

What I don't get is all they had to do was take MGO2 and quite literally port it over. That's it, make MGO2 work with MGSV and they're golden.

They had MGO1 to use as an example of what works and what doesn't when they made MGO2. Then for MGO3 they decided to ignore everything they've learned and here we are.

RACE, TSNE and CAP were probably the most fun I've had in online gaming. Especially survival nights with a group. I'll never forgive KojimaPro for changing my character with a white beret name. Wasn't even offensive.

This. They didn't even try with the game modes. No Rescue or Capture, even though those have been stated of the game since the first one. No Death Match, and Stealth Death Match would have been garbage with how the stealth camo mechanics work. Sabotage is just a more retarded Bomb, which was difficult to play without a good team anyway.

And the customization... Not only was it sparse but the way they added like 20 new pieces of very restrictive very boring gear at a very sporadic pace is awful.

Classes are stupid too. God it's just such a frustrating mess, especially since at its core the gameplay is really fun.

You both summarized it more perfectly than I could have.

I still enjoyed it and had quite a few fun matches, but it was nothing compared to it's predecessor.

Did they ever release more DLC after Quiet?

I stopped playing when everyone was playing Bounty Hunter only, my favorite mode was cloak something, that one where you capture the disk and retrieve it. I was thinking to make a steam group or something to see if I can make people play that mode, but I dont think people is going to play MGO anymore.

>Play it on PC
>Have to switch to mouse and keyboard or else you'll be severely disadvantaged for the aiming
>Nobody fucking walks because running is the default movement so no one is really going stealthy

There's no reason to walk anyway. The AI may be coded to have a harder time noticing walking instead of running, but it won't make a difference to a human. You only show up on the radar if you sprint so that doesn't matter either.

It's really fun when you're lucky enough to get a match with a nice group of people. I dropped it because 90% of the time you end up on a cowadoody shitfest with literally everyone running around with lethal machineguns. That said, I really enjoyed getting their asses fultoned for sweet 10 tickets, but it rarely happened because every time you manage to get someone stunned your asshole teammate kills the guy. Completely ignoring the other enemy around pumping our asses full of lead, to make things worse.

Tried to come to Cred Forums or /mgg/ to find someone to play with, but everyone's ignoring me like complete autists and keep posting gay shit and Jewstein.

I like it more than most people. I still go back and play it occasionally. Stunning people is really satisfying.

>every time you manage to get someone stunned your asshole teammate kills the guy.

Whenever that happens, I just spam Thanks! in hopes that they get the message. At least they fixed it so teammates can kill a guy you're Fultoning anymore.

Who knew Cred Forums guys could be so supportive. 10+ to faith.
