Horses don't need roads

They like to do things the GAR way, unlike you fuccbois

7/10
should have said tanks

This.

r8

those are highways. not roads.

there are lots of roads in russia, they are just not well maintained, or rated for fast travel.

Is there a "road trip" culture in Brazil? Do people in SP just decide to drive up to Manaus to "check it out"? How common is that sort of thing?

>Canada
Why are they all over our dick?

This is not an accurate map, it cuts off a lot of the Trans Canada.

>The Portuguese road infrastructure is considered the best in Europe and the second best in the World by the World Economic Forum in its Global Competitiveness Report for 2014–2015.

This is why we are poor. Wasted it all on roads and redundant highways because the PM was cousin with the guy that sells asphalt.

At least they are well-conserved because the tolls keep them empty.

We also invented the Via-verde systems for stop-less highway tolls, which is pretty cool: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Via_Verde

>inb4 that border picture
Our roads and cities are all in the western coast, so the interior roads and links with Spain don't get nearly as much attention.

I personally like going by car and i know some people who does it as well. So i guess so.

But since the Trans-Amazon road isn't finished, trackers go there to rally and to make some money by towing trucks.

Oh look, something we do right.

The Trans-Canada is not an expressway along its entire length. A lot of it is just a regular two-lane highway.

How does it feel to always be the black sheep of the continent?

In mother Russia sidewalks are made for driving.

...

Same reason we don't have highways up north, conditions are shit and few people live there. It's actually even worse over there.

TransAmazon but on ice lol.

We just depend on railway more than any country.

shoulnd't be: why doesn't Russia HAS roads?
bls answer

You could build it on styrofoam and make it float on the mud. That's how we built some roads here in the swamps and bogs.

That huge hole in the German highway network. Only 10 more years and it will finally be closed.

Russia HAS roads
Russia does HAVE roads
Probably because it's a verb or some shit ,I don't know

doesn't plus infinitive

I cant explain it, thats just how it works.

What's an expressway?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_federal_highways

No. Why would you even think that?

Most transportation here is done by horse, so roads are not needed. Cars are rare here.

There are few highways in every ex-commie country (except for East Germany, where West Germans built a lot of highways in the 90s). Just these countries are fucking poor, and Russia is the poorest one.

Those look more like normal federal roads and not highways. A highway needs two lanes in each direction, no intersections and some kind of separation between directions.

Because Russians are white niggers

>A highway needs two lanes in each direction, no intersections and some kind of separation between directions.
I think that's what you are talking about.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_motorways_in_Russia

Where is Australia?

There'd be 17000km in Victoria alone.

Correct, and the picture above shows just those

take a look here
not every road you call highway is considered for that statistic

comfy thread :)

Your country s road is even shorter than tiny little korea

Korean expressways are pretty nice. Lanes are fairly wide; lots of signs and lights. It's a well-built system.

Germany really built a lot in East Germany after 1990, but we also had maintained a road system towards Berlin during the cold war.
All roads in black are newly built after 1990, all in red are planned. Half colored means enlargement.
As you can see, we now focus on the west again.

interesting thread.

in the us, at least in washington state, roads, even the major interstate like interstate 90 is in disrepair with patches and such. Kind of hard to drive and poorly marked. Oregon actually has the best roads and highways i have seen in the US.

I thought Germany had very good roads. i didnt drive them but have ridden on them.

those are only highways, Italy total road system is 487,700 Km

I think much of rural China is accessible by roads now. This is one thing they really done it right, new roads are popping out of nowhere every now and then but unfortunately its never enough in the cities or just simply built in the middle of nowhere. Imagine a 4 lane highway with less then a thousand vehicles per day

I live near this

To be fair, that's because a lot of Chinese don't have a car.
Also, a large amout don't do road trips. There still isn't a "long-distance" driving culture.

I expect those highways will be used a lot more in 5-10 years.

>spain
>1st in europe

jajajaaja thanks for your money, eurocucks. the empire will raise again

Germany has great roads

what are those ratings based on?

Definitely not pavement quality, as ours suck. I think those ones are for landscape beautiful/best journey to take.

The one that won is following a rather river looking at hills of vineyards. It's very pretty to take in the Spring/Summer. Google maps doesn't do it justice at all, though.

Russia is plural. Idk why.

>I cant explain it, thats just how it works.
American linguistics everyone

why spon has such long highways

comfyness

not only highways, high speed rail too, airports, ports...

we are the master race in infrastructures, desu

Why has nobody posted the obvious answer to this thread?

>tfw we used to develop railways like crazy
>we stopped
REEEEEEE

Eurotinies will never know this feeling.
